Here is my secret

2008-10-09T16:09:00.013-04:00

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." Quote from "The Little Prince" written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

The Lord's Prayer

2008-09-20T02:29:00.008-04:00

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, On earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, the power and the Glory, For ever and ever.

SOS - Climate Change Flyer

According to a United Nations report, meat eating is a major cause of global warming. We need to change our diet to a vegetarian diet since it is a more healthy, economical, ecological, more noble, peaceful and a compassionate diet. Please change your life, change your heart, and change your diet, no more killing. Be healthy and loving. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to

The Serenity Prayer

2008-03-16T12:44:00.004-04:00

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference." --Reinhold Niebuhr I first became aware of the Serenity Prayer in the seventies. My parents had purchased a small plaque with the above prayer while holidaying in

You are a child of the Universe!!!

2008-03-15T17:02:00.008-04:00

"You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should." Those words above have been embedded in my consciousness since I first encountered the Desiderata years ago. It has brought me peace and comfort when others have

Desiderata

2008-03-03T05:39:00.019-05:00

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you

The Secret

2007-02-28T02:19:00.006-05:00

I first saw a clip about "The Secret" on CNN.......It had piqued my interest since it stated that many great personalities like Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Plato, and Beethoven had used it in their daily lives and they were very wise, successful, brilliant and had done a lot of good since they were aware of the Law of Attraction. Then, a few

The Worse is Over.....

Finally, the cold snap broke yesterday and we had temperatures above zero degrees Celsius. It was a good day. Today is great also. Sunnier and warmer. March is just a couple of days away, and spring is not far behind (knock on wood). Let's see, the cold water went, then the hot water, and then the pipes got frozen in the basement, which broke and

Just wanted to let you know that we are having a cold snap here. Very cold temperatures and wind chills. An Arctic and Siberian kind of activity. Weather forecasters say that this will continue until next week. (God, I hope not.) "Cabin fever" will set in. The nights are very cold. Homeless people are the major concern for the

Prayer of St Francis of Assisi (1182-1226)

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is discord, harmony; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be

Chocolate!Need I say more.......

2007-01-27T22:14:00.003-05:00

Last night I was looking at a documentary "Chocolate Confidential" on theCBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp.).
