We are happy to announce that we are starting with true and uncut rc model reviews, with no no possibility that a manufacturer buys a positive review. In this way, we provide a true advantages and disadvantages of each product. We take a simple policy good for good and bad for bad. Currently we are prepared lot of products, reviewed by our members. If you have proven experience with some product, good or bad, supplied with photos that proves that someone is not doing right business, you are welcome to drop us an email, we will review it and publish on our rc portal.

Closing free registrations

Preparing system for closing free registrations. To provide better service to our loyal members, and to ensure that rcflybook is indeed the place as planned, we intend to stop the free registration. Registration on rcflybook will be possible only through invitation. Of course, you will still be able to read and view rcflybook without the need for membership or registration. The only thing is you will not be able to host your website on our server space or use an application to create profiles, pages and galleries. More information will be made available soon.

Summer clean up

For this weekend we will perform our user db cleanup. Through years we collected quite impressive ammount of so called "dead" accounts, which obviously do not do nothing besides that polutes our network and taking seats from someone who find this network interesting. Since our community goal is not to have millions and millions of users like other commuinties (even tha some users have tripled their acconts :) ). Our community guideline is pretty straight, giving our the community right information, web space and network in RC world. We will continue to perform such a user cleanup periodically each quarter of the year from now on. Even if this signup for account is free, inactive/dead accounts for reactivation will be charged. So keep up the good work and show that you deserve free seat on rcflybook web space.

Finally successful maiden flight

Finally successful maiden flight of my flying wing after repair from damage made during first maiden on 6S.

Cheap HK batteries has melted connection between last cell in first flight.. Now after rebuild, first maiden is on 3S, with extra 2S battery connected to SBEC as backup power for servo and RX. Unfortunately front wide angle camera was not recording this time.. ;(

New things are coming this weekend

New things are coming this weekend. Finally we are finished search engine application and some goodies also..

First part of this update should go in late night hours from 5/6 January.. So network will be down for some hour or two.

Finally you will be able to traverse network, find models, build logs and much more.

No matter if you looking info about Rc Planes in Tokio or rc plane in Zaprešić, we have it all :) We are growing by each day in rc community and rc content.

We are announcing another set of goodies on rcflybook from new year.. We will do an upgrade to new 2.5 version of our network system.. Planned downtime for new version is less than 1 hour, so you will be notified when we start with updates.

Also network will be upgraded with search functionality that is now missing. With new search application you will be able to find everything about rc airplanes, models and many more :)

Obzirom da smo najveći izvor informacija o avionima na daljinsko upravljanje, bez obzira da li tražite rc avione u Tokiju ili rc avione na daljinsko upravljanje u Zaprešić-u. Na našem portalu ćete sigurno pronaći potpuni izbor informacija vezane uz aviomodelarstvo i radio modele.

Od nove godine napraviti ćemo nadogradnju sustava sa novim aplikacijama, te aplikacijom za pretraživanje rc aviona, rc helikoptera i još mnogo toga.. Predviđeni downtime je jedan sat, a o nadogradnji ćete biti naknadno obavješteni.

By passing our first birthday, new membership rewards will come..

We grow up in numbers and new sponsors arrives.

Last time we have giveaways with Scorpion motors, ESC.. and now something more interesting will be in our giveaway list.. Of course, we will award new members as well the old members, but now with the difference..

We will award active account holders, since we want greater and healthier community, inactive (or dead) accounts will be removed from award queue, furthermore, these inactive accounts will be cleared and suspended after 3 months of inactivity, to clear media space for our users.

Each user has award metric, like time spent on site, popularity of content, number of visits and more...

By this we will have regularity in awarding our members loyalty on fair base.

After we finish with final testing, we will publish new redesigned video sharing application...
In this release we will support Youtube integration with rcflybook.

You will be able to connect your existing youtube videos or upload directly to youtube media server right from your profile videos on rcflybook.

Support for Vimeo will come up next and also to our media servers as well.

We know that not all pictures can fit perfectly into design of your page.. now you can click on "hide this image" in upper right corner of your profile page.. and hide picture..

What is Rcflybook?

Probably most of you currently does not know where to fit this site..

Reason for that probably lies in fact that is just a 20% of initial idea currently online.. more than 80% is still to come.

Ok. For all that who does not know..

RCFLYBOOK is network (some kind of community) developed by model builder and flier Wora (that`s me).
Initially idea was based around some sort of Build Log blog application, but then extended to modelers network. Not something aimed to replace forums. No not at all.

It is your part of web, your hangar, albums, available to anyone in the world. Still offering you an connection with modelers of your choice and common interests.

In future this network will be expanded with more applications, more media integration and most important thing with sponsors. Yes, as we grow we will try to find sponsors for founding your RC build projects.

That is the key. ;)

If you like to contribute to this project, please join, create galleries, models, connect with real rc people. Or just spread the word.

If you like to see network translated to your language, please we would gladly accept your help just drop us an email or PM trough site messaging system.

Ideas, suggestions are welcome.

Our network engine generates your profile page as website.
By choosing your nickname you are choosing your web shortcut name. (currently we support web names without spaces)

How to access this page? Easy. just type this form of address in your browser:

Now you can use this link as your signature on forums or even send to your friends by email or IM.

And that is free feature. No costs of hosting, web designers or anything..

How to resize images?

Few months ago I found some nice little util for re-size of photos.
It is complete freeware called resizeJPEGs.

If you want to try you can download it from following location.

Download resize jpegs

Basically it is a software by which you can batch Re-size whole folder of photos (by some standard sizes) and get quality photos ranging from 100 to 300 kb instead of 12 MB photos. That means allot when you are uploading ie. 50 photos to your web album..

That is very useful for websites and networks, your upload will be shorted and easier.

If you choose to try this photo utility, please take note to do not check option re-size originals.

You want smaller copies of your bigger photos, not overwriting them.

Currently yes, in near future no way. :)

Since we migrated to new J2ee/Spring platform, we are migrating old user videos to our new video media system.

Currently Videodrome is under heavy testing and we are planning to go live next month with it.. as a part of new release of rcflybook engine v.2.2

The nice thing is that you will be able to upload your videos to your youtube account right from your videos section in profile.

How to change avatar?

Simple. Just click on Edit link on your profile page (or choose myprofile-> Account)

Next.. in first wizard you can enter details such your website link or change some personal details.

Please note that we do not show any personal info. Just your hobby, interests, nickname and country.

The reason for country is that other user can translate your comments or posts from right language.

Click save to get next upload wizard.

Upload your images (up to 10)

Please note that images must be smaller than 2 Mb or they will be rejected from the server.

I will post another tutorial on topic how to re-size images later.

And when upload completes, do not forget to select image for your profile.

That is all.
