Align Airwolf 500 Fuselage

Just brought this Align Airwolf 500 Fuselage yesterday. It look same as HeliArtist Wolf 500 V2 but the different is the body length.Maybe Align take this fuselage from HeliArtist and rebranding to Align name. So far its good. If this design same as Funkey Airwolf fuse it would be nice such like a real Airwolf.

There are many sizes Lipo battery on the market. It also has a variety of brands that can be considered to select the appropriate size of the battery with 450 helicopters. Last month I bought an Align Trex 450 Pro from LHS. I am very satisfied with the item that includes inside Trex 450 pro package. So how to choose the best size for Trex 450 helicopter.

Align Trex 450 Sports just release a few month ago. Nice heli to have one. Here is the heli build by forum group in Malaysia.

What is Inside combo package?
Gyro ALIGN GP750.
Align DS420 Tail Servo.
Align DS410 x3 cyclic Servo.
Align 35A ESC and 3500KV motor.

It look very attractive in packaging.
All respective area is segregate.
+Main Blade.
+Electrics Device.
+Main Rotor Head Set.
+Frame set.

Head set almost ready and assembled by factory. I would say 85% factory assembled.

Clearly can be seen after open plastic packaging.

Install metal flybar control arm as per below.

Install the linkage rod. Use macro mode for camera to get in details and try to show attractive picture.

Another linkage. Rodless linkage to blade gips, they make it fix and non adjustable for this linkage.

Install flybar paddle, stock plastic Align paddle

They suggest to put flybar lump (picture below) @ flybar weight for more stable flight

Checking tail that is already assembled. Clearly see Blue Loctite around the screw head and ssume they have already threadlock it.

Tail blade grips is already modified by Align to what they called Chinese Weight Mod

Futaba Gyro Counterfeit Products

Futaba Japan released a notification last week that it’s come to their attention there are counterfeit Futaba products on the market. Particularly the Futaba GY401 Gyro and Futaba S9254 tail servo are noted in the release. These products will obviously not have the same performance as genuine Futaba products.

The key thing to look for is the color of the pins in the servo connector. All Futaba products have gold pins in the connectors. The counterfeit products have silver pins. Another tell tell sign is the length of the grommet on the servo lead exiting the servo case. If the grommet is shorter then normal, it’s a sign of a counterfeit.

These counterfeit products are typically sold out of Hong Kong and other parts of China, and are prolific on eBay. I highly suggest you purchase from authorized dealers and resellers. If the price is too good to be true, it usually is for a reason.

New Align BL450M Brushless Outrunner Motor

Align has announced for their new product of the latest 450 size brushless motor. This motor is a true outrunner design similar to Scorpion where the outer can spins. The BL450M is designed as a “shelterless” outrunner which means it doesn’t have an outer can protecting the spinning part of the motor.
The Align BL430SP that comes with the T-Rex 450 Pro is actually a “sheltered” design and thus has had issues with head build-up during flight. The BL450M is 3500kv while the BL430SP is 3700kv.

Collective Cyclic Pitch Mixing or CCPM is one of the two most popular methods to control the movement of swashplate on a Rc Helicopter. With the transmitter is now in the modern CCPM has been made easier and almost no problems of many fliers earlier than us. With a few simple tips, which heli pilot and may be able to CCPM expert.

CCPM can be defined as some Servo collaboration and mutual reliance between one another in a Rc Helicopter to implement all the movements swashplate (Collective, aileron and elevators). There were 4 and 3 Servo Servo CCPM setup, but most Rc Helicopter today use 3 Servo 120 ° setup.

Another method to control the movement of swashplate is not CCPM (non-CCPM), better known Single Servo Mechanical. Single Servo Mechanical control is using a Servo to control a movement. Servo is working with its own and not depend with one another because each one servo has work to the movement of the swashplate. For example, one Servo control Collective, a Servo control aileron and one Servo control elevators.

The third movement CCPM combine three servo to control the movement of the entire swashplate. For example, the Collective for the third three servo will move the entire swashplate above or down simultaneously. CCPM does not apply in the swashplate movement without movement of at least two Servo.

Among the advantages of many CCPM heli Single Servo Mechanical heli:
- Mechanical setup easier, usually less and less linkage parts.
- Less slop because of the lack of linkage.
- More than light because the parts used slightly less.
- Having more torque on the movement because the three swashplate servo blown weight.

Among the shortcomings CCPM heli:
- The existence of interaction, the overall movement swashplate especially when no one move quickly where Servo movement itself is not one, are moving more slowly or move more than the other.
- Any CCPM Helicopter use the direct link of the Servo swashplate will disclose to the Servo-Servo is more easily damaged when the crash.
- In Helicopter CCPM if one Servo damaged during the flight, all the basic SWASH control will be neglected, decrease the opportunity to save the heli.
- CCPM setup need to use Servo Servo-high quality and brand and model, tempering the brand and model of Servo or want to save crash will cause headaches during setup and also during the flight.

After several day or month for waiting this bird release finally CopterX 500 officially available in the RC market. It designs same as or clones Align Trex 500. The canopy design color is different than Trex 500. It simple and stripe with yellow, blue and white colour.

As SE kit is the top of the line model come complete with carbon fiber one piece frame, full aluminum alloy rotor head and tail assembly, no need for upgrades for this model. Assembly is very straight forward as the rotor head and tail come assembled already. Top quality carbon fiber frame with aluminum alloy mounts to make it a rigid and durable frame. With these steady constructions the frame can sure withstand the force during most extreme 3D maneuver. Main rotor:

The main rotor come full assembled so the construction is very straight forward. I took it apart to take a closer look but I don’t think it is necessary as all screw have thread lock on it already. As mention earlier all parts were made by CNC aluminum alloy for durability and anodized in a nice black finish. The main shaft is made with hardened steel with over size lock collar to within the force during hard 3D maneuvers. And at the bottom is the nylon main gear with one way assembly.

I get this from the Rcer distributor in Malaysia. Now Rcer just look for the feedback from flyer for their product Dragonus 500 on prototypes part.

The main Hub 500 is bigger than 450 but new design on their hub. They also improve for the swashplate.

How to Take Out Belt Cp Main Gear

Here the easy way how to take out the Esky Belt Cp Main Gear.

a) This is easy method and simple for you to take out the main gear on the Belt CP. Firstly take out the clip on the servo links to the swash plate.

b) After that remove the swash plate guide from the guide back plate

c) Locate the bolt at the bottom of the main gear

d) Use a pair of pincher's on the nut and a allen on the other side undo and take the bolt out

e) Then just simply pull the whole shaft out with the head still on

f) Then just pull the main gear out and just make a note on which way the main top gear runs free and which way it grips,i always have the gear the right way up to make it easier to work with

g) Then its just pulling the old gear off ,take out the one way bearing and fit it to the new main gear and then putting it all back together and make sure that the shoulder on the new gear faces down like the one in the picture
