Wren MW54 Turbo Prop

This is a very complicated project as tolerances must be very stricken due to the High speed of this Turbine. I managed to get most of the parts but still need to put everything together and would like to see it running soon. The shafts seems to be easy but not at all as these needs to be made to perfection. The building instructions of the Turbo Prop is now free from Wren and is indeed something to look at if you ever plan to build a Turbo Prop yourself. Just remember that they do not make the MW54 Turbo Prop anymore and that they will have limited parts available for it. F16 1/5th Scale Video

This following video is my friend Kobus that is big in Turbine Jets. This is his F16 1/5th scale jet that we ran up for testing. The sound coming from this monster is impressive and as he powered it up while I am holding it I could feel how the 28kg starts to push my hand trying holding it down.

RC NAV Lights.

This video shows my home made nav lights fitted to my Alpha 60 Trainer. I make use of a PIC processor that detects the signals from the transmitter to operate up to four channels that you can switch on or off. The LEDS are 3w bright LEDS with 140 deg view angle and the red/green navs are normal ultra bright LEDS. What a stunner when flying at night with full moon.

DIY Retracts

I decided to replace the wire legs on my PC9 120 with some thing more appealing as this model with all its decals deserve a bit more scale like look. The retracs shown in the pictures are made from aluminium and bits and pieces from my over full garrage. Obvoisly a good lathe is also needed to make these and a bit of patiens is needed as well. They do work well with air operated Robart retract set and does look good
when approaching on finals.
