Science Says you have been charging your smartphone in a wrong way.

Yes, we know. Our smartphone batteries are bad because they barely last a day.

But it's partially our fault because we've been charging them wrong this whole time. Almost of us have many confusions about how to charge the batteries properly. So, after reading this post you are definitely going to know the smart and proper ways to charge your Smartphone, Tablet or Laptop batteries.

Many sites has suggested many tips and tricks on this topic. But many of the tips are wrong and they can damage your phone/battery or can affect the lifespan of the batteries.

Hence, I just ignored those sites and their harmful tips, instead I refereed the information provided by Battery-University. So, the tips in this post are mostly correct and safe.

#1 : Always use the Charger of Proper Power Rating

Use the charger whose Output charge is acceptable to your phone. (Always check the Output on charger which came along with your phone.) Also, use Quality chargers. Do not use cheap chargers or cheap USB cables.

#2 : Don’t charge your phone battery from zero to 100%

The rule with Li-ion batteries is to keep them 50% or more most of the time. When it drops below 50% top it up a little if you can. A little a few times a day seems to be the optimum to aim for. Experts recommend that you do a full zero to 100% battery recharge (a "charge cycle") maybe once a month only. This recalibrates the battery - a bit like restarting your computer, or, for humans, going on holiday! The same goes for laptops, by the way.

#3 : Don't let your phone Switch off completely. Recharge it again once battery level goes below 15%

#4 : Try to keep it Cool :-

Charge at a moderate temperature. Do not charge at freezing temperature. (See BU-410: Charging at High and Low Temperatures).Smartphone batteries are so sensitive to heat that Apple itself suggests you remove certain cases that insulate heat from your iPhone when you charge it. "If you notice that your device gets hot when you charge it, take it out of its case first." If you're out in the hot sun, keep your phone covered. It'll protect your battery's health.

#5 : Don’t charge the battery all the way to 100%, when you don’t have to

According to Battery University, “Li-ion does not need to be fully charged, nor is it desirable to do so. In fact, it is better not to fully charge, because a high voltage stresses the battery” and wears it away in the long run. If you are trying to keep your smartphone charged all day, this may seem counterintuitive. However, you should be fine, if you plug in your smartphone whenever you can during the day.

#6 : Plug in your smartphone whenever you can

Don’t wait till your smartphone battery runs down out of charge. Charging them occasionally throughout the day can help the battery’s performance instead when they are empty. According to Battery University, charging your smartphone when it loses 10 percent of its charge would be the best-case scenario. While this may not be practical for many people, so just plug in your smartphone whenever you can. It is ok to plug and unplug it multiple times a day.

This not only keeps your smartphone’s battery performing optimally for longer, but also keeps it topped up the entire day. Further, constant top-ups also allows you to use features, like location-based features that use your smartphone’s GPS antenna that would you normally not use, as it can eat up your battery life.

More Tips :-

Turn off the device or disconnect the load on charge to allow the current to drop unhindered during saturation. A parasitic load confuses the charger.
Not all chargers apply a full topping charge and the battery may not be fully charged when the “ready” signal appears; a 100 percent charge on a fuel gauge may be a lie.
Discontinue using charger and/or battery if the battery gets excessively warm.
Apply some charge to an empty battery before storing (40–50 percent SoC is ideal). (See BU-702: How to Store Batteries.)

In our highly digitize world, it’s easy for anyone to gather information about you if you’re using some form of technology. In fact, the more you put technology as part of your life, the easier it is to gather intelligence about you.

Contrary to popular beliefs, these people do not even have to resort to illegal means to do that. What you say or do online in the comfort of your desktop, laptop or mobile devices can easily seeped out in the public domain of the internet. This is especially true when it comes to social networking sites like Facebook.

Since its inception in 2004, Facebook has more than 600 million active users, making it the fastest-growing and biggest social networking site by far. Millions and millions of people log in to it every day, readily updating their statuses and checking out updates by their friends. If you’re not on it, you might experience some form of ‘information gap’ from your peers who swear by Facebook to pass information. You would probably get to hear news of your friends’ engagements, vacation trips and their troubles and woes, but only later. In fact, their acquaintances might get to hear of them sooner than you could, all because your friends have added them as ‘friends’ in Facebook. If the Facebook privacy settings were in default, these posts will also be accessible to any strangers online.

It’s also funny how we all know that Facebook collects data about us and possibly share that information to third parties organizations without our consent, and yet we still don’t really let that bother us much. In other words, the things that we post on Facebook aren’t really erased even when we ‘delete’ them from our profile or wall; they are still somewhere in the cyberspace, perhaps available to be traded. Yet we continue to make our most personal posts, as if to repress such knowledge of privacy violation into our subconscious in a Freudian sense of things. Or maybe some of us think it’s a great idea after all, since we get information that is of interest and relevant to us, and not just random advertising junks.

So, these bring us to the question: Are we trading away our privacy for the sake of an awesome social network?

There are two key privacy issues at stake here. On the individual level,publicizing your life on the net, where all our posts and comments get into the open for people whom we may or may not wish them to have access to, doesn’t seem to be ideal. In the broader context, the mysterious data-mining capability of Facebook is a powerful and scary thought, especially when most of us are unaware of the actual extent. Read More....

She teleports to the Electricity Board Department`s Office. There a Business man arrives.

Business Man to the Complaint Officer(angrily) : What is going on ? Who Shutdown the electricity of my house?

Officer : Sir, please calm down the repairing of electric line is going on in your area, which will resume in 3 to 4 hours.

Business Man : Oh shit ! I can`t wait for this long time, officer listen, take this Rs.1000 and restore it urgently for my house only.

Officer : OK sir as per your offer I will do it within 15 mins.

The overlying goal of Windows 10 is to actualize Microsoft’s ongoing efforts to unify the Windows PC, Windows Phone, Windows Embedded and Xbox One product families, as well as new product categories such as the Surface Hub and Holo Lens, around a common internal core and application ecosystem. Windows 10 also adjusts the user experience for different types of devices, and transitions between different interface behaviors on "convertible" laptops and tablets with keyboard docks. To improve the experience for keyboard and mouse users, Windows 10 adds a new revision of the desktop Start menu and a virtual desktopsystem, and it allows modern apps to run within windows on the desktop as well as in full-screen mode.

Development[edit]

In December 2013, technology writer Mary Jo Foley reported that Microsoft was working on an update to Windows 8, codenamed Threshold after a planet in Microsoft’s Halo franchise.^[1] Similarly to "Blue" (which became Windows 8.1),^[2]Foley called Threshold a "wave of operating systems" across multiple Microsoft platforms and services, scheduled for the second quarter of 2015. Foley reported that among the goals for Threshold was to create a unified application platform and development toolkit for Windows, Windows Phone and Xbox One (which all use a similar Windows NT kernel).^[1]^[3] It was speculated that Threshold would be branded as "Windows 9".^[4]

In April 2014, at the Build Conference, Microsoft’s Terry Myerson unveiled an updated version of Windows 8.1 that added the ability to run Windows Store apps inside desktop windows, and a more traditional Start menu in place of the Start screen seen in Windows 8. The new Start menu takes after Windows 7’s design by using only a portion of the screen and including a Windows 7-style application listing in the first column. The second column displays Windows 8-style app tiles. Myerson stated that these changes would occur in a future update, but did not elaborate.^[5]^[6] Microsoft also unveiled the concept of a "universal Windows app," allowing modern apps to be ported to Windows Phone 8.1 and Xbox One while sharing a common codebase, and allowing user data and licenses for an app to be shared between multiple platforms.^[5]^[7]

In July 2014, Microsoft’s new CEO Satya Nadella explained that the company was planning to "streamline the next version of Windows from three operating systems into one single converged operating system for screens of all sizes," unifying Windows, Windows Phone, and Windows Embedded around a common architecture and a unified application ecosystem. However, Nadella stated that these internal changes would not have any effect on how the operating systems are marketed and sold.^[8]^[9] Screenshots of a Windows build which purported to be Threshold were leaked in July 2014, showing the previously presented Start menu and windowed modern apps^[3] followed by further screenshot in September 2014 of a build identifying itself as "Windows Technical Preview", numbered 9834, showing a new virtual desktop system, a notification center, and a new File Explorer icon inspired by the Metro design language.^[10]

Threshold was officially unveiled during a media event on September 30, 2014, under the name Windows 10; Myerson said that Windows 10 would be Microsoft’s "most comprehensive platform ever," providing a single, unified platform fordesktop computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and all-in-one devices.^[4]^[11]^[12] He emphasized that Windows 10 would take steps towards restoring user interface mechanics from Windows 7 to improve the experience for users on non-touch devices, noting criticism of Windows 8’s touch-oriented interface by keyboard and mouse users.^[13]^[14] Despite these concessions, Myerson noted that the touch-oriented interface would "evolve" as well on 10.^[15] In describing the changes,Joe Belfiore likened the two operating systems to electric cars, comparing Windows 7 to a first-generation Toyota Prius hybrid, and Windows 10 to an all-electric Tesla—considering the latter to be an extension of the technology first introduced in the former.^[16] Regarding the operating system’s name, Terry Myerson refused to elaborate on why Microsoft skipped directly from Windows 8 to 10, stating only that "based on the product that’s coming, and just how different our approach will be overall, it wouldn’t be right". He also joked that they couldn’t call it "Windows One" (alluding to several recent Microsoft products with a similar brand, such as OneNote, Xbox One and OneDrive) because they had already made aWindows 1.^[4]

Further details surrounding 10’s consumer-oriented features were presented during another media event held on January 21, 2015, entitled "Windows 10: The Next Chapter". The keynote featured the unveiling of Cortana integration within the operating system, new Xbox-oriented features, Windows 10 for phones and small tablets, an updated Office Mobile suite,Surface Hub—a large-screened Windows 10 device for enterprise collaboration based upon Perceptive Pixel technology,^[17]along with HoloLens—augmented reality eyewear and an associated platform for building apps that can render "holograms" through HoloLens.^[18] Additional information surrounding Windows 10 is expected to be announced during Build2015.^[13]^[15]^[19]

Features[edit]

A major aspect of Windows 10 is a focus on harmonizing user experiences and functionality between different classes of devices, along with addressing shortcomings in the Windows user interface that was first introduced in Windows 8.^[13]^[14]^[20]A focus was placed on "universal apps"—Windows Runtime software that can be made to run across multiple platforms and device classes (including PC, smartphone, and tablet), synchronize data between devices, and allow developers to share code between variations of the app for each platform.^[7]^[21] As an example, during the "Windows 10: The Next Chapter" event, Microsoft presented new Office apps designed for tablets and smartphones that share similar user interfaces and functionality between platforms; they will be bundled with Windows 10 Mobile, but available separately from Windows Storeon the PC versions of Windows 10.^[22]^[23]

Continuing with this pattern, the successor to Windows Phone 8.1 unveiled at the same event is also branded as Windows 10, and will share some user interface elements and apps with its PC counterpart.^[24]

User interface and desktop[edit]

The "Task View" display allows the use of multiple workspaces.

Windows 10’s user interface changes its behavior depending on the type of device being used and available input methods. A new feature called Continuum handles transitions between interface modes on convertible laptops and tablets with docking keyboards. When a keyboard is attached, users are asked if they want to switch to a user interface mode that is optimized for mouse and keyboard, or stay within the touch-optimized mode.^[14] A new iteration of the Start menu is used, with an application list and the "All apps" button on the left side, and live tiles on the right. The menu can be resized, and expanded into a full-screen display, which is the default option in touch environments.^[13]^[20]^[25]

A new virtual desktop system known as Task View was added. Clicking the Task View button on the taskbar or swiping from the left side of the screen displays all open windows and allows users to switch between them, or switch between multiple workspaces. Modern apps, which previously could only be used full-screen, can now be used in desktop windows or full-screen mode.^[13]^[20] Program windows can now be snapped to quadrants of the screen by dragging them to the corner. When a window is snapped to one side of the screen, the user is prompted to choose a second window to fill the unused side of the screen.^[20] An universal search box offering Microsoft's Cortana is located alongside the Start and Task View buttons.^[25] Windows' system icons were also changed to a new, flatter design.^[25]

The charms have been removed; their functionality in modern apps is accessed from an "App commands" menu on their titlebar.^[13]^[20] In its place is Action Center, which displays notifications and settings toggles. It is accessed by clicking an icon in the system tray, or dragging from the right of the screen. Notifications can be synced between multiple devices.^[24]^[25] The Settings app (formerly PC Settings) was refreshed and now includes more options that were previously exclusive to the desktop Control Panel.^[26]^[27]

Online services[edit]

Windows 10 incorporates Microsoft’s intelligent personal assistant Cortana, as introduced on Windows Phone.^[28] It is implemented in a search box located next to the Start button, and supports both text and voice input.^[29]

Windows 10 uses a new web rendering engine internally referred to as "Edge", which is "designed for interoperability with the modern web". Windows 10 also introduces a new web browser alongside Internet Explorer codenamed "Spartan"; both "Spartan" and Internet Explorer use the "Edge" engine by default, but can revert to MSHTML for backwards compatibility reasons on internal, enterprise web pages.^[30]^[31]^[32]

The "Messaging" app removed on Windows 8.1 was restored with a new interface, using Skype as a backend for messaging and calls. Conversations and contacts can be synced between devices, and Skype contacts can be added by phone number.^[25]^[33]

Multimedia and gaming[edit]

Windows 10 will provide heavier integration with the Xbox ecosystem: an updated Xbox app succeeds Xbox SmartGlass on Windows, allowing users to browse their game library (including both PC and Xbox console games), and Game DVR is also available using a keyboard shortcut, allowing users to save the last 30 seconds of gameplay as a video that can be shared to Xbox Live, OneDrive, or elsewhere.^[34]^[35] Windows 10 will also allow users to control and play games from an Xbox Oneconsole over a local network.^[36]

Windows 10 will ship with DirectX 12 and WDDM 2.0.^[37]^[38] Unveiled March 2014 at GDC, DirectX aims to provide "console-level efficiency" with "closer to the metal" access to hardware resources, and reduced CPU and graphics driveroverhead.^[39]^[40]

Windows 10 adds platform-level support for the FLAC, HEVC, and Matroska media formats, allowing them to be opened inWindows Media Player and other applications natively.^[41]^[42]^[43]

Update system[edit]

Windows 10 will be serviced in a significantly different manner from previous releases of Windows. While Microsoft began to distribute a larger number of updates for Windows 8 that added features (such as interface improvements) beyond security patches and bug fixes, Windows 10 will adopt a tiered approach: users receive critical updates, security patches and non-critical updates to the operating system and its functionality as they are released. In business environments, administrators can choose between "Current Branch for Business" (CBB) and long-term support release channels. CBB will receive all updates at the same pace as consumers, but allow administrators to opt out of or delay non-critical updates to ensure they are suitable for their environment. LTS versions of Windows 10 are periodic snapshots of Windows 10’s CBB branch, and will only receive critical patches over their 10-year support lifecycle. Systems can also be placed one or two versions behind the most recent LTS version to allow for structured deployments and internal lifecycles.^[44]^[45]^[46] Stella Chernyak explained that "we have businesses [that] may have mission-critical environments where we respect the fact they want to test and stabilize the environment for a long time."^[47]

Hello, I was just confused between Win 10 , Win 8 and 7. But this systematic comparison given below cleared my understanding !

Windows 10 launched on July 29th and has already been downloaded over 14 million times. But why? Microsoft’s decision to make Windows 10 free plays a big part (especially given warnings to wait) but it is also just the tip of the iceberg.
So let’s weigh up the main differences between Windows 10, Windows 7 and Windows 8. There are a large number of pros but also some significant cons, including a few potential deal breakers.
1. What Makes Windows 10 Worth The Upgrade Cost – While some Windows 7 and Windows 8 users will not get Windows 10 free , for the vast majority there is no cost to upgrading whatsoever. On paper this is a great deal because Windows 10 is not cheap and ‘Windows 10 Home’ and ‘Windows 10 Pro’ editions retail for $119 and $199 respectively. By contrast Windows 7 and Windows 8 have not been made free by Microsoft following Windows 10’s release and the company has no plans to make them so. Consequently even if you revert back to Windows 7 or Windows 8 in time, it would seem to make sense to take your free Windows 10 upgrade while it lasts .Longer Support - Another key reason for getting the latest edition of Windows is Microsoft will support it for longer than both Windows 7 and Windows 8. The Windows Lifecycle page (screen grab below) breaks this down into two sections: Mainstream Support and Extended Support. Mainstream Support is the deadline for adding new features and functionality which makes it less crucial, but Extended Support is when Microsoft will stop supporting the platform with security updates. Flexibility And Universal Apps -
Where Microsoft deserves a lot of credit with Windows 10 is its ambition because the OS will run across all future Microsoft devices from desktops and laptops, to hybrids, tablets and smartphones.
The biggest benefits of this are:
1. Apps in the new Windows Store will run on any device which means a single version of Angry Birds works everywhere.
2. Microsoft’s ‘Continuum’ feature allows you to potentially connect a phone or tablet to a monitor and keyboard and use it like a PC. Yes Windows 10 really does run through every device and the user interface can adapt to its environment – be that phone, tablet or PC and touch, mouse or keyboard interaction.

Gaming - Windows 10 brings with it DirectX 12 and for serious gamers this is a must have. Initial reports suggested DX12 would bring a 30-40% performance gain over DX11 and whereas the reality is closer to 10-20% that’s still money for old rope. Windows 7 and Windows 8 will never get access to DX12.
In addition Windows 10 supports streaming games from an Xbox One. Controllers for the Xbox One are compatible with Windows 10 PCs and you can be playing The Witcher 3 on your desktop or laptop in minutes. Best of all, Xbox One streaming is fast and responsive and again it will not come to Windows 7 or Windows 8 at a later date.

Search / Cortana – Windows 8 offers fairly decent online search baked into its controversial Start Screen and Windows 7 only offers local searches (what is on the computer itself), Windows 10 easily trumps them both.
The secret to its success is Cortana, a voice assistant ported over from Windows Phone and whose name comes from the Halo video game franchise. Like Siri on iOS and Google Voice Search on Android, Cortana can respond to voice commands and perform everything from quick Internet searches to core tasks around Windows 10 like opening a new email, creating calendar entries and much more.
Cortana isn’t perfect, but she/it works pretty well out the gate and will only get better with time.
Edge Browser and Virtual Desktops - I’ve listed these both together as they are catch up features. The Edge browser (which is still feature limited at launch) is Microsoft’s attempt to claw back momentum from Chrome. Edge works significantly faster than Internet Explorer and is only available on Windows 10.
In addition to this Windows 10 finally adds Virtual Desktops like those long seen on Linux and Mac OS X. These allow users without multi-monitor setups to create multiple virtual desktops which are handy for splitting usage between work and leisure, work into projects or whatever you require. It’s a great feature.
Minimum Requirements - Technically Windows 10 doesn’t win this category, but in requiring a PC with no greater minimum specifications than both two year old Windows 8 and five year old Windows 7 Microsoft deserves great credit. Those specifications:
RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) for 32-bit or 2GB for 64-bit
Hard disk space: 16 GB for 32-bit OS 20GB for 64-bit OS
Graphics card: DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver
Display: 800 x 600
I suspect a major motivator for Microsoft here was that Windows 10 needs to run smoothly on both phones and tablets as well as PCs. That should make it efficient enough to run on most PCs these days, with the exception of some very old Windows XP machines.

Security - While both Windows 7 and Windows 8 do a pretty good job of keeping users secure, Windows 10 ups its game with several new features. First is ‘Device Guard’ which blocks zero-day attacks by vetting unsigned software programs and apps. Device Guard can also operate virtually so even if it is compromised a remote version can recognise and neutralise malicious software.

Next is ‘Windows Hello’ which is enhanced biometric support designed to reduce reliance on passwords by using your face, iris, or fingerprint. You’ll need hardware support for this on your device (webcam, fingerprint reader, etc) but initial feedback is it works well and again should improve over the lifetime of Windows 10.
Lastly in Windows 10 Microsoft now delivers security patches outside Windows Update so they go straight to your computer the moment they are available. In theory this means Windows 10 computers are always up-to-date which gives hackers a much harder time, even if there are also some notable downsides .
In fact, while this list may make upgrades to Windows 10 sound like a no brainer, there are actually serious pitfalls in moving to Microsoft’s latest OS.
So now here are all the reasons you should stay put on Windows 7 or Windows 8…
2. What Makes It Worth Staying On Windows 7 Or Windows 8
Great as a free price tag, longer support, better apps and gaming, searches and security may sound unfortunately the list where Windows 7 and Windows 8 current beat out Windows 10 is just as strong.
These are my main concerns:
Stability – Right now Windows 10 is brand new and it has launched with a surprisingly large number of bugs which you won’t find in Windows 7 or Windows 8. Among these are disappearing icons from the taskbar, Start Menu lock-ups, Windows Store download bugs, copy and paste errors, problems with audio and more.
In fact Microsoft is about to release a massive one gigabyte download of bug fixes, which gives you an idea of the scale. The trouble is such numerous patches always bring new bugs of their own. Consequently this isn’t so much a reason never to upgrade to Windows 10, but a good reason not to upgrade to Windows 10 right now.
By contrast Windows 7 and Windows 8 (despite the latter’s bumpy start) are pretty much rock solid these days.
Mandatory Updates – Windows 10 may be more secure and up-to-date because of this, but Microsoft’s decision to force updates upon users also has significant downsides. This has included automatically installing a
broken graphics driver which crashed displays, a security patch which crashed Windows Explorer and more.
By contrast Windows 8 and Windows 7 make all updates optional and you’re alerted to install them. I believe the ideal solution lies halfway between the two: make all updates automatic by default, but give users the option to stop or delay any update categories or individual updates they like. Right now this lack of flexibility makes Windows 10 a deal breaker for some.

Brutal Enforcement Policies - Of course mandatory updates have led to many users devising elabourate ways to sidestep Windows 10 patches, but there’s little point in this. Microsoft requires users to accept these terms in its Windows 10 EULA (end user licence agreement) and security updates now sidestep Windows Update and are installed to all versions of Windows 10 without warning.
Meanwhile driver and feature updates through Windows Update can be delayed up to one month by Windows 10 Home users (the vast majority of consumers) and eight months by Windows 10 Pro customers (most businesses), but after that time Microsoft will cut off the next round of updates (including security patches) from users until they accept the previous ones.
Windows 7 and Windows 8 have had similar policies for major updates in the past (Service Packs in Windows 7, and the Windows 8.1 update) but a user doesn’t face a ticking clock for every single update – big or small – as with Windows 10.
Interestingly Microsoft recently released a tool for uninstalling bad updates on Windows 10 which suggests its stance may be softening, but the tool only works after updates are installed which isn’t much use if a bad one stops your PC from booting.
Privacy - If the enforcement policies were tough, however, they have nothing on the privacy violations Microsoft requests in the Windows 10 EULA. A notable section reads:
“We will access, disclose and preserve personal data, including your content (such as the content of your emails, other private communications or files in private folders), when we have a good faith belief that doing so is necessary.”
Needless to say “necessary” is a crucial qualifier and this should mean Microsoft won’t violate your privacy for no reason, but that all comes down to trust – and there’s not a great deal of that going around in a post-Snowden world.
Windows 10 is a smart mix of the new and the familiar
Ease of Use - In fairness Windows 7 is so ubiquitous that Windows 10 was never going to be more intuitive to use than its much loved forebear. That said Windows 10 is more intuitive than Windows 8 and much of that comes down to the return of the Start Menu. Consequently Windows 10 is a great blend of the advancements of Windows 8 and the familiarity of Windows 7, but sight of Windows 8 elements (and there are many) will still be too much for some.
Windows 10 also needs greater consistency across its user interface as there is still a jarring transition between traditional desktop settings like the Control Panel and settings pushed into the Modern UI. Microsoft really needs to get this sorted out and it should’ve been by now.
Lost Features - This won’t affect too many users, but the fact is Windows 10 does kill some features Windows 7 and Windows 8 users consider essential.
The big one is Windows Media Center which is a mainstay in some home media setups, while there’s also no native DVD playback (Microsoft is reconsidering this), no desktop gadgets and no floppy drive support. Meanwhile games like Solitaire have been removed and are now ad supported from the Windows Store with payment required to remove them.

Broadband Hog – While Windows 10’s mandatory update policy has split opinions, a far less widely reported issue is also taking place: the new OS uses a peer-to-peer (p2p) update distribution system called ‘Windows Update Delivery Optimization’ (WUDO).
The benefit of WUDO is that once one Windows 10 device has downloaded the latest updates it will automatically distribute them to other PCs on your network, saving time. The problem is your PC will also start to share this update with other PCs around the world that still need it. This takes the pressure off Microsoft’s servers but also means Windows 10 will consume more of your bandwidth than Windows 7 or Windows 8, neither of which do this.
The good news for those on metered connections is this can be changed by going to:
Settings > Update & Security > the Windows Update section > Advanced options
Select PCs on my local network only for WUDO to only be used for your PCs, or
Switch it off so each PC has to get their own downloads
While the option to disable is nice, WUDO is another example of where Microsoft should be more transparent with Windows 10 and let them know upfront what their devices will be doing behind their backs by default.
Windows 7 and 8 users are now prompted to get Windows 10
Bottom Line
Given the way Windows operating systems evolve over their lifecycles, it is impossible right now to overly praise or damn Windows 10 but we can start drawing conclusions compared to the differences between it and its predecessors.
My personal feeling is that Windows 10 is an improvement on both Windows 7 and Windows 8 and in time it will be considered one of the great Microsoft releases. That said Windows 10 launches with more bugs than it should and (while Microsoft has crafted a super OS) it is also the most controlling and invasive version of Windows the company has ever released and a compromise does need to be found long term.
All of which means Windows 10 is both the best and most troubling Windows version I’ve used. Those determined to be on the cutting edge will upgrade and love it, but those more wedded to Windows 7 and Windows 8 should wait a little longer. The Windows 10 free purchase period lasts until July 29th 2016 for eligible users so there is time to see whether Microsoft can address the differences which make Windows 10 worse than its predecessors compared to those that make it shine.

Follow these STEPS....

To remove Swift Shader logo from game screen:

You need a "hex editor" to do this. Easy to find free one just google it.

1. Once you run the editor, load up the DLLs, and search for "96 00 00 00 C8 00 00 00" without the quotes.

2. Then, replace the 96 and c8 with 01.

3. You should now have "01 00 00 00 01 00 00 00".

4. Don't touch anything else, just save your file.

Logitech's new G710 comes with Cherry MX Blue switches, finally adding another Cherry MX switch option to the company's gaming keyboard arsenal.

Silently, Logitech has revealed its new G710 mechanical gaming keyboard, which we've spotted on its website and on NewEgg.com. The keyboard is much like the older G710+, with just a couple differences, only one of which is particularly noteworthy.
The G710+ came with Cherry MX Brown switches, along with O-rings around every key to dampen the sound of bottoming keys out. It was built to be a silent gaming keyboard, because at the time mechanical keyboards were known to be particularly loud.
Now, it's not as if mechanical keyboards have become more silent since, but the Cherry MX Brown switch has been growing in popularity, particularly because it shows that a mechanical keyboard doesn't have to be loud. In that regard, one could argue that the G710 takes a step backwards with Cherry MX Blue mechanical switches, which have both tactile and auditory feedback, and are therefore louder. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though, as the auditory feedback does have a certain charm to it.

Windows 8 is a personal computer operating system developed by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. Development of Windows 8 started before the release of its predecessor, Windows 7, in 2009. It was announced at CES 2011, and followed by the release of three pre-release versions from September 2011 to May 2012. The operating system was released to manufacturing on August 1, 2012, and was released for general availability on October 26, 2012.^[7]
Windows 8 introduced major changes to the operating system's platform and user interface to improve its user experience on tablets, where Windows was now competing with mobile operating systems, including Android and iOS.^[8] In particular, these changes included a touch-optimized Windows shell based on Microsoft's "Metro" design language, the Start screen (which displays programs and dynamically updated content on a grid of tiles), a new platform for developing apps with an emphasis on touchscreen input, integration with online services (including the ability to sync apps and settings between devices), and Windows Store, an online store for downloading and purchasing new software. Windows 8 added support for USB 3.0, Advanced Format hard drives, near field communications, and cloud computing. Additional security features were introduced, such as built-in antivirus software, integration with Microsoft SmartScreen phishing filtering service and support for UEFI Secure Boot on supported devices with UEFI firmware, to prevent malware from infecting the boot process.
Windows 8 was released to a mixed reception. Although reaction towards its performance improvements, security enhancements, and improved support for touchscreen devices was positive, the new user interface of the operating system was widely criticized for being potentially confusing and difficult to learn (especially when used with a keyboard and mouse instead of a touchscreen). Despite these shortcomings, 60 million Windows 8 licenses have been sold through January 2013, a number which included both upgrades and sales to OEMs for new PCs.^[9]
On October 17, 2013, Microsoft released Windows 8.1. It addresses some aspects of Windows 8 that were criticized by reviewers and early adopters and incorporates additional improvements to various aspects of the operating system.^[10]^[11]

Sony announced on Tuesday that its PlayStation-themed set-top box is now available in North America. Called PlayStation TV, this device brings PlayStation content to your HDTV such as “hundreds” of games, movies, TV episodes and more offered on the PlayStation Store. The system starts at $99.99.
Sony’s new set-top box measures 2.6 x 4.1 x .5 inches and weighs around 3.9 ounces. The device includes a PlayStation Vita card slot, a memory card slot, one USB port, one HDMI port, and an Ethernet port. The innards are similar to the PlayStation Vita: four Cortex-A9 cores, four PowerVR SGX543MP4-plus GPU cores, 512 MB of RAM, 128 GB of VRAM, and 1 GB of internal storage.
In addition to those specs, the PlayStation TV "mini-console" also includes Wireless N and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR connectivity, access to PlayStation Now, and the ability to stream games from the PlayStation 4 via Remote Play. The box is compatible with DualShock 3 and DualShock 4 controllers, as well as the PlayStation Vita.
According to the blog, PlayStation Now is currently available in most areas of the United States and Canada. This game streaming service will launch with popular titles such as Sly Cooper: HD Collection, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus, and Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault. The PlayStation Now website also mentions Final Fantasy XIII, Dead Island: Riptide, Killzone 3, Darksiders II, and Guacamelee. More than 150 games are coming to the service.
For a complete list of games that are compatible with the set-top-box, head here. The list includes PlayStation Vita games, Vita demos and trials, PSP games, PlayStation One classics, PlayStation Minis, and PlayStation Mobile games.
Will Sony fans buy into the PlayStation TV set-top box? That remains to be seen, but the device is certainly packed with potential. With all those games ready to roll out of the box, and with support for PlayStation Now and Remote Play compatibility with the PlayStation 4, fans of the PlayStation brand should devour this device in no time.
The PlayStation blog also reports that Sony will be selling a PlayStation TV bundle this holiday season that includes the PlayStation TV device, a DualShock 3 controller, a memory card with 8 GB of space, and a voucher to download The Lego Movie Videogame (fun!) for free. This bundle will cost $139.99, whereas the micro-console costs $99.99 by itself.

The 3D Analyzer Tool was created and refined to overcome limitations posed by modern 3D Games and other Applications on several current mainstream 3D Cards. With the help of 3DA you can change different graphic options under DirectX 8 and OpenGL. 3DA changes different CAP-bits for example, if a game requires HW T&L 3DA emulates these bits and the games runs on graphic boards which don’t have HW T&L capabilities. 3DA doesn’t emulate any features in software(except cube mapping, which is done with a simple 2D texture), like Pixel or Vertex Shader. 3DA is also a very nice tool for benchmarking. It generates detailed log files (CSV) with FPS and other parameters.

In simple terms, 3D-Analyzer is a tool that can emulate certain graphics options that would typically require a dedicated graphics card; graphics that many integrated chips and older graphics cards are not capable of. So, for example, if you have an outdated graphics card, or an integrated one, it might not support some graphics options such as Pixel Shader 2.0, or hardware TnL (not to worry, you don’t need to know what these mean). Certain 3D games require these, and are not playable without them (like when you have audio but all you see is a blank screen). 3D-Analyzer can help bypass these restrictions and enable you to play that game you’ve always wanted to play.
