Texline Seven Project

In just a few hours we will be in the middle of our next Seven Project. Sometimes people don't understand what we do is missions because it is right here in the United States. If Seven has ever been a missions endeavor it is today. Today is at the heart of missions. Today I am praying a brokeness in the students and administrators. A deep work in their hearts. I want aftermath of Texline to look like God invaded a city.

In the Second Great Awakening there was an area of New York City called "The Burned Up" District. It was called that because it was said that people were so touched by the fire of God that area of the city was burned up! People who don't understand may think I am speaking of judgement. Far from the case. Revival, change, broken hearts for the Lord just different than it is now. A noticeable change students hearts and atmosphere.

Last Nights's Service

"I promise that you'll hear stories from Monterey. God absolutely flipped my world upside down last night." a student wrote this to me last night. It was such a powerful night. We couldn't close the service because the students were gripped with intercession. It wasn't words. It was weeping, tears, groans, and tongues.

I have heard it said once that this generation doesn't know how to pray through. You might have had to been around awhile to understand that term. I see a different generation. I see a generation that is gripped by desperation for God to change their generation. I see a generation that is calling out in revival. I see a generation that isn't concerned if prayer is in out out of school. They take intercession to school. Not out loud in some cases. Give them the freedom in their campus club and they will call on the Fire of God to consume. Bold term! They carry the zeal, passion, and fire in their hearts and spirits.

It just wasn't students God touch last night. To see the students and adults joined together was a beautiful sight. I wish others could have come and joined us. I asked!

The question is...are you caught up in stuff? Stuff that really doesn't matter. Will you allow this move of the Spirit in you. A touch from God that will consume you?

Seven Recap

We opened up the school assembly with an old favorite. Gorilla gets the man. They loved it. Angela, Russell, and Oliver lead the students in the crowd breaker. It was the first time that Oliver and Angela have been up front in a Seven. They did a great job. Russell helped with a 7@Night, but this was his first time in a school assembly. It is a whole different world in front of students like this than in front of our church kids.

Wide shot of the freshman class for their school assembly. They were pretty rowdy, but that makes it fun. When we hit the serious subjects it always pulls them in to the assembly. No matter how tough or hard students act on the outside they are looking for answers just like everyone else. They want people to understand where they are and what they are going through. When somebody comes to them not with answers, but love. They respond!

Angela meeting with the response workers before the 7@Night. We have people helping from all different churches and we give them a crash coarse on meeting with students. Angela does a great job. We like to see it one on one. One student per response worker.

The rapper that came to help us out of pinch from Harvest Time Church in Midland, TX. Rekindled is just a Junior in High School, but he did an awesome job.

Russell sharing his heart in the night event. The speakers in the school assembly share their testimony in the night event. It is always powerful for the students to hear the process in which we gave our heart's to Christ.

Joshua Sullivan helped us out as a communicator in El Paso. He has helped us out in Andrews, TX a couple of years ago. Always a good speaker.

A side shot of the altar call. The students were visably moved. Some students were all ready weeping before the call was given. When they responded they were very broken. About 120 came forward we got commitment cards on 87. Sometimes when we get to the point of getting their personal information they slip through. We still believe it was an awesome impact.

Angela and the Youth Alive President for the campus. Her and Angela have become very close through the past year. Pray for Illana and the club. They are hungry for revival.

A Generation Broken

Many see this generation as hard or difficult. Some cases that is true. Every Seven Project or outreach for that matter I am stunned at the by the number of students that respond. There is always a moment of anxiety when I give the altar call. I wonder if anybody or just one will respond.

Tonight was great night. Many lives touch and changed forever. There was a characteristic to tonight that was new to me in our Sevens.

Brokeness!

Students were broken. It was about a dozen of the hundred that got saved. Some was sobbing. God was truly working on hearts.

Everyone did a great job. Thanks to all the Seven team.

Wow, just believing that tonight is going to change somebody's life forever. Do we want a big crowd...YES. More important is the impact that is made for the Kingdom. I am praying for addictions to be broken. Depression to be lifted. Students to be called out of darkness into the Light. 7@Night in El Paso, TX at Coronado High.

The students which were mostly freshman were pretty rowdy in the assembly, but it is still fun. You know that some get it. The "it" is the message of change. It always awesome to see the lightbulb go off.

Have to leave to head back in 20 minutes. Love it!!!

1st School Assembly

Awesome 1st assembly. Teachers and students loved SEVEN. There were almost 400 students in attendance. They responded awesome. It is always such a rush to speak to students on their turf. Next assembly is at 2 p.m. Mountain Time. We have volunteers on the campus inviting students to come tonight. Pray for a harvest.

We made it to El Paso. We still have one crew on the road and one coming in the morning. Pray for their safety. Those of us here just finished the last of the organization of the school assemblies. Please continue to pray for favor with the students. The school assemblies can make such a positive impact. Joshua Sullivan is speaking on self-respect and integrity. Russell Chandler is speaking in scholastic achievement. I am speaking on anti-violence and coping. We have a student from Harvest Time in Midland coming to do some hip hop for Seven. We are pumped.

Monday - The day before Seven

Today Pray:

Many to be impacted by the school assemblies.

The students @ Coronado will have invited many of their friends.

That the students invited will come back to the school gym for 7@Night.

That hearts young and old will be open and responsive to the Gospel.

We are believing for 600 in attendance and 200 salvations.

Pray the God will use Todd Starnes, Russell Chandler, and Joshua Sullivan to say the right things in the assemblies and 7@Night.

Again...please contend for souls!

Pray today for our students on the ground. They just have a few days left to share with their friends about Seven. They are handing out flyers everyday after school. Pray for boldness and favor for them. Each student has been challenged to write down five friends names and pray for them, then bring them to the 7@Night. Thank you for your partnership in prayer.

One Month Challenge

Welcome to the One Month Challenge!

The One Month Challenge is straightforward and simple: students visibly carry their Bibles with them to school, shopping, on a date, studying, to movie theaters, to friends' houses - EVERYWHERE for One Month.

The One Month Challenge works well anytime of the year, especially in September as a build-up to the See You At The Pole prayer event.

Students
take the challenge and invite your friends, campus club, others to take the challenge with you. Pick a date and start carrying.

Leaders
present the challenge in your youth services, Sunday school classes or small groups. We have ideas and resources to make this a month-long focus in your youth ministry. Select the date that works for you and let the adventure begin.

Speed the Light Comes Through Again!

We are so blessed to have an organization like Speed the Light. To all the supporters of the STL, THANK YOU!!! We have received a full grant to pay for our 7x14 enclosed trailer to carry out STL school assembly equipment. We got extra money to wrap the trailer with our YA/Seven graphics. Pics coming soon. Hopefully we can unveil it ag Fine Arts in Midland in a couple of weeks.

Seven Meeting in Odessa, TX

Prayer Zone Partners

How can you pray for the students and the schools in your community?

Pray for the campus.

Students are in the most strategic position to reach their schools with the message of the gospel. Pray for the salvation and safety of students and staff; pray for effective campus missionaries and clubs; pray that everyone on campus will receive a clear presentation of the gospel.

Pray for the community.

Students' lives are influenced by more than just their schools. Pray that God would bless their homes with peace; pray for safety in the places students like to hang out; pray for the businesses that are in position to have a positive influence on students.

Pray for the church.

Students who make a decision to follow Christ must be incorporated into a healthy, Bible-believing church. Pray that students will be loved and accepted by your church; pray that the adults in your church will become role models and spiritual mentors; pray for all the ministries in your church that deal with students (Sunday school, Youth ministries, etc.).

More ways to pray:

Students:

Pray for your lunch everyday.
Pray silently for the students sitting around you at the beginning of every class.
Pray as you walk between classes (Prayer Walk).
Pray for your school during See You at the Pole every September www.syatp.com.
Kneel and pray for 30 seconds, every day, in the hallway or in front of your locker www.30kd.org.

Adults:

Develop a school of the week rotating prayer list. List one school a week in church. announcements and distribute to prayer groups.
Pray for the School of the Week at home.
Pray as you drive through a school zone.
Distribute Prayer Zone Partners brochures and stickers to increase awareness in your church.
Schedule a Sunday service to promote prayer for students, schools, and the community through the Prayer Zone Partners program.
