I've been participating the last few days in the creation of this wiki about Student Data Storage with 3 other participants, and a wonderfully experienced moderator, Vicki, coolcateacher.

POSITIVES

I'm impressed with wiki technology in emailing the exact changes completed by another participant. I also appreciated the emails when my Discussion post got a response! It's great to have a Discussion page to talk about the developing wiki page. History also helps if you need to revert to an earlier version.

FRUSTRATIONS

I've found the Internet connection a bit slow at times from Cairo and that's why my wiki edits took so long at times.

I was a bit frustrated when lots of work on links and Table of Contents was lost when a participant added video. I couldn't tell at that point if this was intentional or accidental. Another participant saved the day. Communication, as always, is the KEY!

GREAT EXPERIENCE OVERALL!

I've very excited about wikis and this was a fabulous experience for me! I do appreciate distance collaboration. I'll share it with the Read Write Web professional development inquiry group meeting at school.

I'm trying to follow the PreConference Keynote.

It seems that I've finally understood about Technorati tags and Ping! So the PreConference Keynote was very informative for me.

I hope I can learn more tips as the agenda sure does look exciting.
