We hope you like our brand new Remarks app. Be aware, that we are working on loads of updates based on your feedback.

Some people are asking how to move PDFs into Remarks. Currently there are a few ways:
- usb file transfer via iTunes
- e-mail attachments
- “Open-in” from another apps (like Dropblox, ReaddleDocs, etc).

The update will add cloud storages like Dropbox, Box, etc. Hopefully, it is going to be live in 10-14 days.

Stay tuned and thanks for your support.

Surprisingly, we received many inquiries from our dear users regarding the difference between PDF Expert and Remarks apps.

I would like to go in details and explain it to you as clearly as I can.

Essentially, Remarks and PDF Expert are different by nature and can even be used together. PDF Expert for iPad is a fully featured file management application, which focuses on work with existent PDF files. You can read and annotate PDFs easily with outlines, text reflow, annotation summaries and so on. PDF Expert is an amazing business tool for signing agreements, filling in PDF forms (even with calculations) and auto-filling the fields. The clean and comprehensive UI makes your workflow fast and easy.

Contrary, Remarks is a great neat app to create new documents, which will be in PDF format. If you need to make a new note in handwriting or text, sketch the idea, write down thoughts during the meeting – Remarks will do a great job. Moreover, it is great for casual PDF annotations. PDF Expert’s UI is still better if you annotate a lot of articles, magazines, etc.

We decided to stick with PDF format in order to make your notes and annotations sharable, so they are not locked inside the app. This creates a whole new level of collaborative workflow. All your notes, annotations and remarks are viewable on other iPads, Macs and PCs.

Hopefully, this brief explanation will help you to decide which app to choose or even to go with both.

Truth be told, there are plenty of note-taking apps in the AppStore. Readdle team wanted to make the difference and create slick app which will help people to create notes (either by typing and handwriting) and share them.

Share this post (Retweet on Twitter or Share on Facebook) to win one of 3 iTunes gift cards $10 each.

Remarks is our brand new app for note taking, annotations and free-hand drawing. Super clean interface and mind-blowing accuracy of drawing tools will make your notes look better than the paper ones.

The majority of note-taking apps focus on creating notes, which are locked inside the app. We’ve taken a different approach by making all notes and annotations in PDF format. It creates a whole new level of capabilities and collaborative workflow: you are able to share the annotated PDF files.

Remarks is great for creating new documents either handwritten or typed. Wrist protection helps you to write with a stylus.
We will add cloud support in the upcoming update (Dropbox, Box, etc). Moreover, new rendering engine will make your handwriting even smoother.

Stay with us for more great apps.

P.S. We will appreciate if you leave some feedback as comments on the AppStore. Every bit helps

Even though Apple is no longer coming to Macworld iWorld expo, it is still a great event for all Mac and iOS fans.

Second year in a row Readdle exhibits at Macworld and proves that productivity and business iOS applications are very useful for every person who owns an iPhone or iPad.

It was a great chance to talk to our users. The best part was that almost everyone who uses their iPhones or iPads for productivity and business had at least 1 Readdle app.

During the show, we managed to sneak peak the brand new app Remarks! It is a great app for note-taking, free-hand drawing and casual annotation on PDFs. The feedback was amazing, both from the press and from the public. We are launching Remarks tomorrow, so stay tuned.

The bottom line is, Macworld is still relevant and important for all Apple fans. The focus though shifted towards iOS apps and accessories. We are proud to be one of a few companies, that give real value to our users and help to solve real life problems, rather than just focusing on entertainment and games.

Here are some great shots from the expo:

We are happy to announce that PDF Expert 3.2 is released. The new version is now even better for reading, annotating and filling-in PDF documents and forms on your iPad. Our team carefully evaluated the feedback from the users (more than 160,000 already) and worked on the version 3.2.

Readdle is giving away 5 promo codes to celebrate the release.

The update adds some great features that our users were asking for:

- Full text search
- Data protection API
- Bluetooth keyboard
- Better handwriting
- New Organizing tools for files, sort them by name, size and date
- New annotation tools and an eraser

New document search is the main addition to PDF Expert 3.2. Working pretty much like Spotlight search on iOS, it searches far beyond the file name examining contents of all the PDFs inside the application. This lets people find the needed documents faster and easier than ever before.

Many iPad owners take notes on their devices during classes, meetings, presentations and other events. PDF Expert 3.2 includes all the tools they might need: pens and highlighters of different colors, floating text boxes, shapes and of course an eraser. Combined with a great handwriting engine and wrist protection the latter makes PDF Expert one of the best note taking applications on the App Store.

Following the trend of the corporate iPad adoption, PDF Expert 3.2 comes with full support of the Data Protection API built into iOS. It means that all files inside the application are encrypted if the iPad is on the passcode lock, preventing possible data theft and making PDF Expert 3.2 suitable for business usage.

We are giving away 5 copies of PDF Expert for iPad. All you need to do is to Tweet or Share via Facebook. The winners will be picked tomorrow.

We would like to hear your feedback!
Have a productive week.

We will be launching a new enterprise solution so there will be a great chance to evaluate it. As you may know, one of our main values is listening to our users and Macworld is the best place for it.

Simply put, we want you to attend the exhibition and chat with our team. Once again, Readdle team is giving away 100 free passes for Macworld iWorld 2012, which will take place during 26-28th of January in San Francisco. Let us know if you want an invite in the comments below or simply e-mail directly to denis@readdle.com.

This year we rented a big booth (1038) so we will have plenty of space for interaction. Moreover, we will have lots of cool stuff going on such as custom iPad giveaway, interactive videos, chats with executive team and developers and much more.
