Apple will host Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco on 10-14th of June.
If you are attending and it is going to be your first time, I am more than happy to provide useful information and tips.

What To Expect
The main thing to expect is iOS7 with its flat design. Let’s see what Ive prepared for us. It’s unlikely that we will see a brand new iPhone or iPad.
You can read Jim’s article about his expectations. Rene from iMore filmed the whole episode of his show talking about WWDC, you can watch it to be prepared.

General Tips
-Plan your time and meetings in advance (you can use Readdle’s Calendars+ for that)
-Stay social: WWDC is a developers conference and it is the best time to meet developers from around the world.
-Make a list of people you want to meet and tweet them, everyone is responsive in the Valley (mostly)
-Never eat alone
-Download an official WWDC app

Whom To Talk To
WWDC is a great place to meet with famous and influential journalists and bloggers. If you have a great app, hot news or anything that has value, kindly ask them for a meeting. If they agree, don’t be late, be prepared and don’t start pitching right away. Don’t try to “bribe” them with a lunch or an expensive present, which may harm your reputation. Try to reach out people at iMore, 9to5Mac, AppAdvice, TUAW, Macworld, Wired, Cnet, CBS, BI, Mashable and others.

Parties
Rivers of beer and whiskey should not keep you distracted from the main purpose. You are here to work, learn and network (although I don’t like the word “network”).
You can RSVP for the parties here.

I will be attending Smile’s, Jim’s, Push IO, Breakfast of Champions and probably a few more.

Places To Attend
San Francisco has everything you want. If it’s your first time in town, make sure to hop on a tour bus that’ll take you from the Union Square to Golden Gate.
Places like Union Square, Market Street, Wisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, Golden Gate, Tiburon, famous hills, Golden Gate park with its Japanese Tea Garden are definitely worthwhile visiting. For food your should go to Buca di Beppo (good for big companies), Hog Island (best oysters in the world), Blue Bottle (famous with the tech crowd), Lulu (great burgers) and others.

I’d be happy to answer your questions and give further directions.

See you there,
Denys Zhadanov.

Our flagship app, Scanner Pro, gets an amazing update, that uses new technology for real-time border detection.

Scanner Pro is a universal app that turns an iPhone or iPad into a portable scanner. Now you can scan receipts, pages, documents, business cards and share them. It has created the whole mobile document scanning niche in 2009. Almost 800,000 users worldwide scan hundreds of documents on the go. Scanner Pro was featured by Apple and Evernote many times, moreover, it’s been #1 business app in 20 countries for 2 years.

The latest update adds tremendous power to the app, an it is an inevitable step in its evolution. Real-time border detection technology works perfectly and makes it very easy for the user to see which part of the document will be scanned.

You can see a short video of Scanner Pro real-time border detection in action

How Scanner Pro is different from the picture you can take with the iPhone/ iPad camera?

- it automatically crops the document and makes the scan more readable
- it removes shadows and corrects perspective
- it can save scans as b/w document
- it scans multipage documents and saves them as a single PDF file
- it allows you to share your scans: automatically unload to Dropbox, Evernote, etc.

So the main difference is that you get a good looking PDF file, instead of a blurry image with background.

Giveaway.
We’re giving away 5 promo codes for Scanner Pro 4.5 ($6.99).

We’ve got great news. The last few months Readdle team has been working on a new version of PDF Expert for iPad. More than 20 improvements and new features were added to PDF Expert 4.6. Download it now (It’s free for all existing users of PDF Expert for iPad).

Generally, this version has strengthened PDF Expert as an annotation tool, adding a number of essential features. Among them are:
- Selection tool. People can select and work with several annotations at once: move, resize, edit or delete.
- Copy and Paste annotations. Copy already existing annotations and paste them anywhere in the document, or even into another file. (This was one of the most anticipated features)
- Shape tools. Improved geometric shapes tool allows you to change opacity and the color of the shape in a few tabs.
- Date picker. This is a vital feature for people that work with PDF forms frequently. Now adding time and date can be done in seconds thanks to our custom keyboard.

There are lots of other tweaks:
+New layout in annotations toolbar for rect/oval/line/arrow
+Added save/discard changes prompt to Save as -> Flatten
+Sync folders are supported in URL schemes
+Improved Text Highlight tool
+Increased timeout to move pages with tap & hold

Giveaway
We’re giving away 5 promo codes for PDF Expert for iPad 4.6 ($9.99).
If you want to win simply follow these steps:

Third year in a row Readdle exhibits at the industry leading Apple event – Macworld iWorld.

I would like to share some thoughts and impressions after the show.

Macworld iWorld is changing every time we come. Not only it did not die when Apple pulled off, it has evolved. Evolved into something more consumer oriented, fun, buzzy, alive and..and that’s pretty much it. 3 days in a row, thousands of people learned more about Apple related technologies, gadgets and apps. There were plenty of tech talks to educate users on how to get the most from their iPhones and Macs.

For us, it was great to meet people who use Readdle apps every day. We’ve got great feedback, thoughts and case studies about PDF Expert, Scanner Pro, Calendars and Printer Pro. One of the attendees ran to our booth screaming “Here you are guys! PDF Expert is a great app! Use it. Love it!”. People from the press were happy to talk about industry insights and our future plans. Apple community is a great one! It is always nice to get together again and discuss the latest news, rumors and predictions.

For visitors, I hope it was interesting too. Not only because there were 7 different iPhone case manufacturers, but also some cutting edge technologies such as dancing robots, iPhone bows, handheld WebDav devices and much more.

Readdle is definitely going to attend Macworld iWorld 2014. If you are planning to go, let us know, we will give you the invites.
