We now make our own hand applied, rimless readers with even more crystals than before! Certainly you can find glasses less expensive than $39.95 (at time of print) Noone affixes crystals to eyeglass frames like our artisan, so the stones won't fall off in your dinner plate. Readers come with an (almost) indestructible hard case. The width, at 5 1/8", will fit narrow to average face sizes. 1" high, these half readers are the perfect height to peer over. We are updating this post to reflect improvements in optical technology since the "Top Bifocal" in 20110 which sold for $60. There are now trifocals and dual strength bifocals which serve the same purpose, for under $35! The stronger strength is for reading, then the upper strength(s) are adjusted because as we look up toward our computer or at our devices, we don't need as much of a boost.

Top bifocal reading glasses serve more purposes than we could imagine. Most Bifocal Reading Glasses are made with the magnification along the bottom portion of the lens. No-Line Sun Bifocals are here!

This post was first published back in 2007 when no-line bifocal sunglasses were brand new to the over-the-counter reading glass market. Generally, true "progressive" lenses are quite expensive. Even at $100, sometimes the quality isn't top notch because that "no-line" translates to a "blurry line" when trying to read. Most of the people we speak to report that with normal bifocals they don't mind the abrupt transition from one strength to the clear top. However, they don't like they way they look. They want to appear to others like they're wearing regular readers, and don't want people to see a line running through the lens. New technology since 2007 has made this possible at a fraction of the price of true progressive bifocals. Take for example Skylight. The bifocal is fused on the inside part of the sunglass lens. This makes the line barely perceptible, if at all, to the outside world. They do show a line in the picture because of the way the bright camera lights are traveling through the thicker magnified area.

Long Live Animal Prints! There are many reasons readers get discontinued. Increase in manufacturing, inability to get materials to make that style, decrease in sales often due to shapes and colors going out of style.
However, Cheetah, Leopard, and Tiger prints never really go out of style. They may be frantically featured in magazines & store racks some years more than others, but there is always a use to adorn your outfit with that animal print scarf .... or reading glass!

Long discontinued style features rounded rectangle shape popular circa 2005.

This post was first published back in 2007 and the readers pictured above have long since been discontinued. However, because the style still generates interest, we wanted to let you know about our closest current style. Envy, also Swarovski readers, has is a more edgy rectangular shape with thicker stems as featured in contemporary eye-wear. Also modern is the "fade" style color. Though predominantly tortoise, the brown transitions to turquoise near the earpiece.
