Project 2011 - "Audio Alchemy"

Praise the Lord! Now that I've finished reading the Bible in one year, I have begun a new project.

As a gift to the world in 2011, I am overwhelmingly pleased to be finishing a project I have envisioned since 2004. One of the greatest preachers I have ever known, my late husband Brian Keith Dickerson, left a legacy of 1,436 highly anointed preaching cassette tapes. The powerfully anointed Word of God that he preached changed my whole life's paradigm. Audio Alchemy is what we are calling the project of converting all of these tapes into mp3 format to be published online...making the Word of God he preached available to the whole world for free on the internet! You can already find many of these tapes on the online free audio store located at: http://www.yudu.com/library/22980

This conversion process is a real-time process. What this means is if the message on tape lasts 3.2 hours long, then the conversion process will be 3.2 hours plus time to edit out the silent gaps between tape changes and the actually exporting of the mp3 file (which usually takes 15 minutes.) Each audio message is usually 2 cassette tapes and up to 3 hours long. Some are combined services for messages that came in parts and can be over 4 hours long. 4 tapes will need to be converted daily for 365 days to complete Alchemy in 2011. So far, we are right on track!

Brother Brian's message mp3's can be listened to directly off the internet, or downloaded to your computer. I can't imagine a greater gift to share with you this year. Brian Dickerson paid the price of his life for the preaching of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, so to you and the world, it is without cost. What a blessing I have to be a part of carrying this over to the “other side,” if you will, of technology...like Moses was instructed to carry the bones of Joseph to the other side, in the promise land (Exodus 13:19)...from tapes in boxes to mp3's published on the world wide web!

Philadelphia = kept the word of God's patience (the first that doesn't appear to be rebuked)
Laodicea = lukewarm-to be spewed out of God's mouth

Revelation 4

:5 - 7 lamps = 7 Spirits of God

This picture is not totally accurate to the description of the 4 beasts, but it epitomizes my doubt as to the literal translation of this book.

:6 - Lamb with 7 horns and 7 eyes = 7 Spirits of God

Revelation 6
1st seal = white horse release - conquering and to conquer
2nd seal = red horse release - power to take peace from earth
3rd seal = black horse release - balance in his rider's hand
4th seal = pale horse named Death release = Hell followed with him
5th seal = martyred souls under the altar cry out for justice and receive white robes
6th seal = earthquake, sun darkened, moon reddened, stars fall to earth like figs from a fig tree, heaven departs like a scroll rolled together, everyone on the earth hides

Revelation 7
4 angels, 4 corners of earth, 4 winds
:4 - 144,000 sealed of all the tribes of the children of Israel. Again, if one part is figurative (or symbolic, that sounds better I suppose), it is likely the rest is...as God is very consistent. No matter who says only 144,000 will be ok, it's not theirs to say.

Revelation 8
7th seal = half hour of silence in heaven (again, a day with the Lord is as a thousand years, so 30 minutes could still be significant in human time.)
:6 - 7 angels with 7 trumpets
1st angel sounds 1st trumpet = hail, fire, blood, 1/3 trees burnt, all green grass burnt
2nd angel = great burning mountain cast into the sea, and a 3rd of the sea becomes blood
3rd angel = big star (Wormwood) falls from heaven upon a 3rd of the rivers - making them bitter
4th angel = 1/3rd part of sun, 1/3rd part of moon, 1/3rd part of stars darkened

Revelation 9
5th angel = star with key to the bottomless pit fell from heaven to earth = locusts and scorpions loosed
:7 - Locusts as big as horses wearing crowns of gold and having human faces. Look out Stephen King!
:11 - Abaddon (Hebrew), Apollyon (Greek) = angel king over the bottomless pit
6th angel = loosed the 4 angels bound in the river Euphrates = killed by fire, smoke and brimstone out of their mouths

Revelation 10
:3 - 7 thunders
:7 - I believe this is the 7th angel that has one foot on land and one on the sea that says time is no longer.
7th angel sounds = mystery of God finishes

:4 - 2 olive trees, 2 candlesticks
:15 - 7th angel NOW SOUNDS = The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever.

~I am not going to post a picture of this because it is completely irrelevant. In fact, when I was in youth camp, I walked out of a class where the teacher was trying to draw this on a whiteboard and telling us that heaven is some kind of gigantic cosmic cube. That's when my Amos 8:11 famine in the land began. I just had to get out of there and go walk in the mountains with God! God has to be more spiritual than that, right? He is Spirit, after all. A giant cube? Come on.~

:18 - If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, [as John introduced this prophecy in the first chapter of Revelation] God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.~My final comment is that it is clearly speaking here of the book of the prophecy of Revelation.~

:2 - For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.~Well here's another verse I didn't realize was in there. One of the most awful feelings is to know that you've offended someone, I think. And sometimes you don't even know what you said! And sometimes it's not what you said, it's how you said it! And sometimes it's their expectation of what you should or shouldn't say and you break that. And still, you have offended them, and will receive the greater condemnation if you are considered the teacher (according to the previous verse.)

James 4
I think the best all around practical advice chapter I've read so far. Full of quotables.
:2 - Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.~Check out the context on that one! We've all been there I think--pulling teeth and putting up our dukes to get what we want, when really we just need to ask the right one.~
:4 - ...know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.~Well, this ought to put the fear of God in us for being too worldly! Or for trying to win the world by being like them.~
:7 - Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
:8 - Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
:13-15 - Use the expression: If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this or that.

James 5
:4 - Sabaoth is not the same as Sabbath. It is only used twice in Scripture -- here and Romans 9:29.

:16 - Okay, this must be another misquoted scripture. Confess your faults [not sins] one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Instead of being named for who the letter is sent to, this one is named for who wrote it.
:1 - This book is addressed to the strangers of many lands, not the church in one specific region, as previous letters.
:13 - Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;~Which does not have to be the end of physical life.~
:15-16 - Not only is it possible now to be holy, but it is commanded.
:22 - love one another with a pure heart fervently.
:25 - But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.~God's word is not just out there in outer space somewhere in another dimension. Thank God!~

1 Peter 2
:4-8 - This passage is special to me because I see God doing a progressive work building His house, which are His people. It is a progressive thing to him. And the house I've grown up in has been a progressive thing also, so I have a concept of living in contentment while things are still a working progress (although I have to admit it isn't always easy. But being lost and worldly without the voice and approval of God would be much harder.)
:5 - Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
:9 - But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
:12 - day of visitation~I'm ready for one of these!
:13-16 - Obey the law of the land you're in.
:25 - Jesus is the Shepherd and Bishop of our souls!

1 Peter 3
:4 - ...even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.~Personally, I think this would be nice on the men as well as the women.

~References are made to the first earth being recreated after the flood, but that the next time recreation will happen by fire.~

:8 - The devil sins. I guess that's pretty obvious, but never thought of it.
:9 - Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.~Some things just need to be quoted. Often.~
:15 - Hating a brother is the same as being a murderer.
:20 - For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

How to discern the spirits.

:18 - There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

:14 - Now we learn something the OT didn't mention about Enoch--that he prophesied!

:24-25 - Benediction! Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present [you] faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, [be] glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Ok, we begin the least understood book of Scripture. It has been told to me that in addition to Harlo White, whom I mentioned in Jude, a preacher named Lynn Hiles also has a real grasp on this book from a spiritual perspective. ~It is interesting that John, who laid his head on Jesus' breast (showing the degree of love he shared with Jesus) is chosen to receive this intensely spiritual visitation. After reading all the John books, I can also see how much John spoke of love. Really loving God. And that Jesus said of him If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? (John 21:22)~

2 Timothy 1

:5 – Faith in the grandma Lois, and mother Eunice—Timothy's maternal ancestry of faith!

:7 – For God hath not given the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.~Very famously quoted, for obvious reasons! I am sure that the spirit of fear is different than having the fear of the Lord.~

2 Timothy 2

:3 – Enduring hardness encompasses so many things. Such great advice still for today.

:14 – This should be part of the 10 commandments so people will remember it better! Don't strive or fight about words! Wow, again, we would have such fewer denominations if it weren't for word fights.

:22 - This gives me the impression that Timothy was a young guy...at least younger than Paul

:25 – Those that oppose themselves – still a hard road to hoe, as they say. When we oppose ourselves, no one can say anything right to us. This is, according to :26, the snare of the devil. We will be offended no matter what. And when someone is in that state, they oppose themselves. If they embraced themselves, they could embrace their siblings in Christ...Love one another as you love yourselves kinda thing. This is my take on the matter.~

2 Timothy 3

I wonder how many times of “last days” have been since Jesus? Or has this been a long stretch of last days?

2 Timothy 4

Another entire chapter I'd like to quote. Paul is giving final instructions to Timothy, as he says he's finished his race (:7)...telling him to Preach the WORD...no matter what!

Titus 1

:3 – Preaching manifests God's word!

:15 – Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.~One of my favorite mantras is “All means all. What does that leave out?”~

Titus 2

Instructions for the elderly.

Titus 3

:5 – Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost~Another verse used to explain the plan of salvation.

:9 – Paul keeps instructing that long genealogies are useless. That must have been a thing back then to trace your lineage back to prove something.

:13 – Zenas the lawyer is requested

Philemon 1

So far, in all of Paul's letters (isn't it amazing, by the way, how many of them there are in the NT—considering his past) Paul introduces himself as Paul, an apostle of Christ, or Paul, a servant of Christ. This time, he introduces himself as the prisoner of Christ.

:10 – Onesimus is mentioned by Paul quite frequently, I've noticed. A book of Onesimus, perhaps, somewhere?

Hebrews 1

:3 – All things are upheld by the word of God's power.

:13-14 – Angel verses.

Hebrews 2

:10 – For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things; in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.~All those sufferings couldn't have happened before Jesus was born. Some had to happen on the earth. I fear to expound on this because I know the religious mind.~

Hebrews 3

Remember the builder of the house.

:7-8 – Wherefore, as the Holy Ghost saith, Today if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness

:13 - The deceitfulness of sin hardens us.

Hebrews 4

:9-10 – There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

~Maybe Onesimus wrote this book! It is mostly about rest, I've noticed. On my first long fast, I read this book and Revelation.~

Hebrews 5

:2 – High priests are compassed with infirmities to have compassion on people and to offer gifts and sacrifices to God for people.

:5 – Is begotten the same as born?

:8-9 – Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. ~See my note on Hebrews 2.~

Hebrews 6

:12 – Another reference to following someone following Christ...followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

:19 – Hope is the anchor of the soul.

:14 - How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? ~ I wonder how many dead works are still present in today's church.

:23 – Patterns in the heavens also have to be purified.

:27-28 – And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.~Ooooh boy I love this. People would have to lose some doctrines if they read this whole passage IN CONTEXT! Yes, I agree that some concepts are clear without context, but on the other hand, others can be completely reversed in meaning due to lack of context.~

Hebrews 10

2) Herod surnamed "Antipas", was the son of Herod the Great and Malthace, a Samaritan woman. After the death of his father he was appointed by the Romans tetrarch of Galilee and Peraea. His first wife was the daughter of Aretas, king of Arabia; but he subsequently repudiated her and took to himself Herodias, the wife of his brother Herod Philip; and in consequence Aretas, his father-in-law, made war against him and conquered him. He cast John the Baptist into prison because John had rebuked him for this unlawful connection; and afterwards, at the instigation of Herodias, he ordered him to be beheaded. Induced by her, too, he went to Rome to obtain from the emperor the title of king. But in consequence of the accusations brought against him by Herod Agrippa I, Caligula banished him (A.D. 39) to Lugdunum in Gaul, where he seems to have died. He was light minded, sensual and vicious.

3) Herod Agrippa I was the son of Aristobulus and Berenice, and grandson of Herod the Great. After various changes in fortune, he gained the favour of Caligula and Claudius to such a degree that he gradually obtained the government of all of Palestine, with the title of king. He died at Caesarea, A.D. 44, at the age of 54, in the seventh [or the 4th, reckoning from the extension of his dominions by Claudius] year of his reign, just after having ordered James the apostle, son of Zebedee, to be slain, and Peter to be cast into prison: Acts 12:21

4) (Herod) Agrippa II, son of Herod Agrippa I. When his father died he was a youth of seventeen. In A.D. 48 he received from Claudius Caesar the government of Chalcis, with the right of appointing the Jewish high priests, together with the care and oversight of the temple at Jerusalem. Four years later Claudius took from him Chalcis and gave him instead a larger domain, of Batanaea, Trachonitis, and Gaulanitis, with the title of king. It was always my favorite because you got to hold the hand of the person next to you and lift them up in a certain place in the song. Secondly, it's interesting that when someone who is not a believer feels like swearing, they don't say "Buddha buddha!" or "Krishna krishna!" or "Ala ala!" But they say, "Jesus Christ!" However, I believe Jesus meant everything he said. So maybe he was trying to slow the spread of his name, thereby slowing the time before the cross.

:58 - This is often spoken about regarding ministry and family. What I never realized is that JEsus did minister and teach in his own cities and countries. For some reason I always misinterpreted this passage to mean "get as far away as you can so your ministry can succeed." However, it doesn't appear to be necessary. You can teach there, like Jesus did, but may have few miracle works along with the teaching, as Jesus experienced. If it's one or the other, I'd rather be instructed of the Lord than experience only miraculous works. They fall away without the proper instruction on how to keep the blessing.

This is my second reading of this section, as my first time through notes were written in a notebook that I lost! Praise the Lord! This must be an important section and God wants me to read it twice!

Lamentations 1

I wonder what would happen if we as God's people really weeped over America like Jeremiah weeps here for Israel. I wonder if any Christians really think there is something to cry about here?

:15 – God is trodding down the mighty men, the young men, and the virgin daughter of Judah.

Lamentations 2

:1 – Being covered with a cloud is not always a good thing. Clouds surrounding is the same as fog, which can be dreamy, but also cause accidents at the same time for unclear visibility.*This will preach.* And God hides himself in dark clouds, I have read.

Lamentations 3

:21 -:28 - This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.

Ezekiel has to lay on his left and then right side for extended periods of time to bear the iniquities of the people. What a ministry!

:8 – God chained him on his side! I have never heard this mentioned in any sermons.

:9 – fitches = spelt =a wheat-like crop planted and harvested in the fall or spring ~My naturopathic doctor recommends this for people allergic to wheat. You can actually buy spelt bread.

Parable with the hair. Shaving, weighing, separating into parts, burning, binding in the skirt (men wore them back then), smite with a knife, scatter in the wind. God is a hands-on God!

:8 – Promise of a remnant.

6-5-6 – How interesting to have a new calendar every time a new ruler took over the land. To have a dating system based on the king.

Jeremiah really gets a strange commandment here — to get a linen girdle and hide it by the river for a couple weeks until God tells him to go get it back. Then, like the girdle is ruined, so will be the kingdoms he has to prophecy to — which will include rebuking the royalty themselves. Wow. Not fun.

:11 – As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.~Perhaps another verse people refer to in calling gambling a sin... but also a good verse to claim the victory over those who may have stolen from you.

I notice that God speaks through Jeremiah often with a physical illustration of what He plans to do.

Just discussed this with my own mother the other day – that bowels must have meant something different to the OT and NT folks.

ministry or project name. God's Highway.

:15-16 – Some of the most beautful expressions of God's love to his
people. Thy walls are continually before me ~this stands out to me.

Isaiah 50
:1 – God asks for divorce papers!
:7 – For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded; therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.~Yes and amen!
:11 – Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.~I have always heard this quoted as instruction to walk in your own “fire,” but here it looks as if it is a rebuke for doing so, as opposed to walking in the light of God (as the previous verse says.)

:2 – Vengeance from God sounds like the cure to many ailments, which occur
for lack of judgment. Certainly it is not the worldly way of interpreting correction as a good thing or a solution. But from this chapter, it appears to be God's way.

:2 – A new name is given from God.
No more (old names) Forsaken or Desolate, but (new names) Hephzi-bah, Beulah,***The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

:9 – Mention is made of God carrying his people all the days of old. ~I've seen references to leading and guiding and instructing, but this is the first carry
verb. Love it. Reminds me of parents carrying their babies.

:2 – but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a
contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.~Yes, I must preach here just a little bit. People think you're weird if you honor the Word of God by honoring the preacher who brings it to you. And yet here, we see that we earn the eyes or vision of God by having that kind of humility...and fear of His Word. How else can we show that humility? Reverence to the messengers. Amen.

:1-3 – B.C. I had obviously not been coined as a phrase or calendar system
yet, so it took a long time to describe the date.
:7 – Moses tried the same thing – finding some excuse for why he couldn't speak for God. But God didn't let Jeremiah off the hook or give him someone else like Moses was given Aaron.
Jeremiah 2
:3 – Israel was God's firstfruits
:8 – First mention I've seen of pastors. ***Look up Hebrew word to see if it is used before this.
:20 – playing the harlot is used to describe Israel worshiping other gods. Perhaps other references to this sort of behavior mean the same thing.
Jeremiah 3
:7 – Judah is Israel's sister
:8 – God outright says that he gave Israel a bill of divorce for playing the harlot.

:3 – For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow*** ground, and sow not among thorns.~A constant chore in the ministry.

:26 – all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger~Several things: 1) makes one wonder how many times there was an “in the beginning”. 2) I am thinking of references to the day of the LORD being a great and terrible time 3) When He comes with vengeance, it looks like things get destroyed and have to start over. (In the beginning.)***Study further.

Jeremiah 5

:7 – What would be the harlots' houses in this case, keeping with the meaning of harlots being ones that serve false gods? Maybe false church houses of the time?
:14 – God's word = fire in the mouth, and those receiving the correction = the wood. Whew. What a ministry to bring that word to that people! No wonder he's the weeping prophet!
:31 – The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?~Exactly. What are you going to do? I like what Prophet David Terrell said recently in his tent meeting, “Bible days never stopped. We are still living in Bible days.”

Jeremiah 6

A lot of talk about the north so far in this book.
:14 – They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.~I believe in striving for peace. And at the same time, saying Peace doesn't always bring it. At least if you're going to say it, say it like Jesus when He calmed the waters and there was power behind his words.
:16 – Thus saith the LORD, stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.~I believe some of those old paths are praying it through, fasting, tent ministry, and Holy Ghost baptism.
Jeremiah 7
:11 – God's house has become a den of robbers.
:22-23 – God didn't give Israel a commandment about sacrifices when they
came out of Egypt, but he said Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
