Thoughts on Stalk: Straight up, this book was a little darker than I like my chase-y chase Halloween books. I mean, I liked the corn maze. I liked the masked man (who was nicely creepy). The stalking through the maze was very nicely done. However, I wasn't enamored of what the masked man was capable of? Or what Rory did? Once he unlocked the darker side of her? (Sorry, I'm mentally working my way through this as I type.)

I guess it comes down to me liking a slightly lighter masked men book. The books itself was good (although a little repetitive with both Rory and Scarecrow really driving home how she'd crossed and line and was his) and there were elements I liked, but I'm not a huge fan of the more horror-esque portions. (And if you ever want a good laugh, watch me watch a horror movie through my fingers. It's a thing. I own it.)

To each their own, though. So if this is what you like, enjoy!

Thoughts on Pounded in the Patch: I'm having a hard time figuring out what to say in this review because this book went from being a creepy chasey-chase book to something sweet and it's confusing my brain. Seraphina is being hunted through a massive pumpkin patch by someone who is very determined to make her his. The place is a maze designed to confuse and trap her and she's kinda into it. Because sometimes ladies are into being chased.

On Luke's end, he's into being the hunter, the stalker, the thing that goes bump in the night. He chases her, he corners her, he has his wicked way with her and makes sure she enjoys every moment of it. Did I mention he's VERY into the enjoyment part? Because he is. Everything he does is designed to give her what she wants.

And it's sweet. It starts out possibly not sweet and ends up a bucket full of Halloween candy sweet and I think I might like that.

So, a little lady-napping, a little chasing, a creative use of pumpkin vines (I'm not convinced they'd be comfortable, but to each their own), a man who is determined to give his lady everything she wants, and a lady who enjoys the chase as much as being caught. *thumbs up*

Thoughts on Fright Night: Knox is heading home after a two year stint doing community service thanks to a prank gone awry and he has a plan. To start with, he's going to make sure Oakley knows exactly what part she'll play in his homecoming. It'll end when she's his and he can protect her in every way he can.

Oakley is not completely enthused about Knox's return. Not because she doesn't want him there, but because she feels like she didn't do enough to stop his father from sending him away two years ago. But since Knox doesn't pull any punches when he returns home, Oakley is drawn into his scheme. Which is to say, she's an unwitting participant. At first. It doesn't take long before she's anticipating the way he creeps up on her. The way he sneaks into her house. The way he leaves her wanting him close even though her head tells her she should be trying to stay away.

On Knox's end, he's obsessed. He's also determined to get Oakley out from under his father's thumb. If that means butting heads with the old man over brunch, he's more than willing to do just that. And if it means stalking her through a Halloween maze and making sure she enjoys every minute of it? Well, he's willing to do that, too.

A little B&E, a video Oakley watches more than once, a maze, a mask, a man who knows who and what he wants, and a lady who needs to delve deep and come to terms with her attraction so she can be the person she's supposed to be. *thumbs up*

Thoughts on Claimed by Her Monsters: Madison is the troubled (really, she was only defending herself, so what if she maybe went a little overboard in doing so) young woman who's faced with either going to jail or putting herself in the hands of a man she doesn't know. That's sounds bad, but he's (reportedly) a distant relative and her options are limited. Honestly, she doesn't have much say in the matter. Her case worker appeals to Alister, Alister reluctantly agrees to let her join him, Maddie is just along for the ride.

So now she's staying at a massive, swank house and her guardian (look, the relationship is sort of murky, so I'm not sure how related they actually are) and his two house guests (roommates? Maybe?) are a pretty big study in contrasts. Alister is grouchy and doesn't much seem to want to interact with her, Mick is an exuberant sweetheart, and Caspian is sweetly shy. As the night wears on (did I mention it's her 19th birthday AND Halloween?), Maddie gets to know them over board games (well, a board game) and conversation.

Then they drop a bombshell that blows Maddie's mind. She's a witch and if she doesn't get initiated into her power, she could destroy them and everything around them. She's hesitant to believe them at first, but it doesn't take long for them to convince her that this thing happening to her is going to happen whether she's believes it or not. So she does what any self-respecting almost-witch would do and takes the three to bed. AS ONE DOES.

Power that might be a little out of control, a danger lurking in the past, three men with history, and the budding witch who completes them!

Thoughts on Dirty Cowboys: This time around we have a content creator spending time in a small town so she can grab that "authentic" vibe for her subscribers. Indie's a city girl in the country, but she's willing to learn what it means to live in a small town surrounded by wide open spaces and hunky cowboys.

That said, Indie also has a secret blog where she records all her wildest wants. She doesn't expect anyone to read it, but it's out there and that alone gives her a bit of a thrill. That said, someone does read it. Three someones, to be exact. And her cowboys are more than willing to give her what she wants. As often as she wants it.

Duke, Nash, and Walker have their own loose relationship going, but Indie fits with them and they don't mind AT ALL playing out her fantasies. They're safe and make sure everything they do is consensual, but they also push all the boundaries Indie wants pushed. They also like having her around for more than just sexy times. She's smart and funny and she slots into their lives like she was meant to be there.

And when she's injured during a storm, they all realize they absolutely don't want to lose her.

A little chasing, a little rough stuff (but not too rough), a trio of men who make things work, and the lady who completes them. GOOD TIMES!

Thoughts on Dark Warren: This was the book that had be itching to read this series (look, old magic and primal bunny-creatures are equal parts terrifying and interesting and I honestly don't know why anyone wouldn't feel the same) and in an act of unparalleled restraint I actually read the the others first before diving into this one. MAN what a ride.

So. Ivy has inherited a quaint cottage from the grandmother she never knew. She's planning on looking it over with an eye for selling, but fate or life or the magic in the land or something has other things in mind. Strange, terrifying creatures in her garden, cryptic warnings, and gifts that both intrigue and repulse her have her head spinning. It isn't long before she's trying to figure out what this mysterious covenant is that her grandmother was involved in. She's not exactly okay with what she's finding, but she's also curious enough to keep looking deeper.

No lie, she finds a lot. There's a primal being who puts the decision on the future of him and everyone around them in her hands. The fate of the land literally depends on what she decides to do. And she's...not disgusted. I mean, eventually she reaches that point. At first she's overwhelmed and scared, but Warren calls to her on a level she's kind of afraid to explore. But she's also never felt the sense of home and belonging that she's felt since she stepped into her grandmother's cottage.

Let's just say that Ivy weighs her choices, digs through as much research as she can find, and goes into everything with an open mind. And when she finally makes her choice? THINGS HAPPEN!

Thoughts on Run For Us: In a connection with Hold Your Breath, Kinsley is Jace's cousin and she's vaguely wistful about Jace's poly relationship with his partners. She doesn't think SHE could ever have anything like what he has, but she appreciates how much joy the group relationship brings to him.

To be clear, when I say Kinsley thinks she could never be in a poly relationship, it's more because she has some seriously unresolved trauma about reaching for the things she wants. The one time she did, it turned into something tragic and her family has been holding that over her to keep her in a box ever since. So while she might want the type of relationship Jace has, she doesn't think she deserves or could hold onto anything like that.

Fortunately for everyone, Kinsley stumbles into a group of men who are more than willing to push her boundaries and show her she's good enough as she is. Kazen, Shore, and Rip are three men who speak to the different parts of her. And while she's falling for them in the daylight hours, she's also being chased by three masked men during the night (thanks to Jace's birthday present to her!) and that's a thrill she didn't know she wanted.

Killer crabs (according to Shore), a group of men with their varied strengths and weaknesses, and a lady who has to learn to love herself and all her desires before she can be the partner they know she will be. *thumbs up* and a special *thumbs up* to getting some face time with Jace and his crew.

Thoughts on Hold Your Breath: When life throws a curveball and leaves a person tied naked to a chair, sometimes they have to bite the bullet and call the one person they really don't want to call to get them out of their embarrassing predicament. Cue Willow calling Micah, resigned to enduring some relentless teasing, but at least she won't be naked after. Or tied to a chair, I guess.

No lie, things didn't quite turn out the way Willow thought. Micah did come to her rescue, but he brought his two hunky friends and now they've all seen her naked. They also went out for drinks after because why not? And Willow might have had to tell the men what led to the situation they found her in.

So Willow does what anyone would do when faced with all that and flees to the house her family is staying at for the holidays early to get herself in order. Except the massive house is Micah's and he knows exactly where she is. He and his BFFs are determined to give Willow the experience she's craving. Repeatedly.

As it turns out, Willow thought Micah hated her, but he's really only been trying to keep himself in check. Now? He's letting himself off the leash. He's going to convince Willow the four of them have a future worth fighting for. *thumbs up*

Thoughts on Slash or Smash: This is a short and spicy little nugget of a story where a lady who likes masked men meets the two masked hunks who own the new escape room in town. She's interested, they're interested. THINGS HAPPEN.

Raven is old enough to be tired of the same old party scene on Halloween. So when one of her friends suggests trying the new escape room in town, she's down for that. She's even more down for it when the owners are masked hotties who look at her like she's the main course at an all you can eat buffet. When they separate her from her friends and suggest a thrilling alternate game, Raven is 100% on board.

Ghostface and Jason are thrilled to have Raven to play with and it doesn't take long before they're all getting something out of the game.

Fast-paced, spicy, and with some serious masked hotness. *thumbs up*

Thoughts on Wildflowers: I'm enjoying this series because it's delightfully whacked out and I'm here for exactly that. BUT...spiders, man. Creeping horror of the creepingest kind. Spiders that need a host. Spiders that can communicate. Spiders that have chosen a human woman as their breeding vessel. *stares in concerned horror*

Yeah. Gwen got WAY more than she bargained for when she took this trip. While it was terrifying and she wasn't really given a choice on being chosen (thank you, temporary paralyzing venom!), she also...didn't hate it? Like, she kind of did, but she also didn't. I mean, main spider dude made THINGS happen and she was kind of down with that.

Thoughts on You're Ours Now: No lie, the author/mom notes in front of these make me laugh. I kinda love the dichotomy of a mom-side saying "absolutely don't do this thing" and an author-side saying "yeah, absolutely get your freak on with this thing". Anyway. Be safe and don't do the thing, but totally feel free to read about the thing.

So. Mellie accidentally bares her soul during a taped interview for a matchmaking show and one of her BFFs happens to work at the place running said show. So the interview lands in his inbox and HECK YEAH his BFF wants him and their other best friends to do very naughty things to her. Okay, maybe she didn't actually say she wanted THEM to do those naughty things, but they could infer what she meant.

Now Storm, Zayne, and Julius are planning on giving Mellie the absolute BEST V-Day surprise - all her accidentally revealed fantasies come to life. Ada's tired of watching this town suck her family dry and she's determined to get out. If that means taking the town bully (and her personal nemesis) up on a monetary bet about entering the pumpkin patch on Halloween night, Ada is willing. Especially if it means she'll be able to use the cold, hard cash to fund her way out of this town.

As it turns out, Ada's personal nemesis is a liar and really shouldn't be trusted. His brilliant plan to leave her in the patch and watch when the town boogeyman do all sorts of unspeakable things to her. In a twist, Jack IS real and he's super not down with anyone hurting Ada. Thoughts on Don't Get Caught: Look. I picked up this book because I thought a little spooky season spiciness sounded like just the thing. A lady getting chased through a cemetery by masked me? Sounds promising. And thus began my full-fledged immersion into sexy chasey-chase books with a lady who is willing to explore her boundaries and the men who are there to (consensually) push her to the edge.

Yeah. I liked this book. A lot. Lily has beat a strategic retreat from her family and ex after he shamed her for wanting things he didn't think were normal. Her family really didn't have anything to do with the shaming or even know about it, but she wanted a fresh start and she got one.

Hitting up the town's haunted house attraction seems like a no-brainer since she likes the thrill of being scared. And chased. When a masked man hunts her down through the cemetery and gives her a very special small town welcome, she doesn't resist too hard. And when he shows up again with his friends in tow, well...she's really down for that.

Meanwhile, she's made friends with North, Harlen, and Eli and doesn't realize her masked men and her new friends are one and the same.

As for North, Harlen, and Eli, they're the town troublemakers and they certainly like making trouble (of the best kind) for Lily. Eli's sweet shyness stole the show for me, but all Lily's men were sweethearts in their own way.

A little chasing, some nicely creepy masks, a town that's more understanding than anyone thought they would be, a trio who's looking to add to their group, and a lady who gets everything she didn't know she needed when she moved into her newly inherited house. *thumbs up*

Thoughts on Cocoon: A vacation (of sorts) is what Avery had in mind when she set out to spend some time in the wilds, but she got SO MUCH MORE than that. I mean, the lady did something no other scientist can claim to have done and she genuinely enjoyed it.

What brought her to the enjoyment part? Her curiosity and a butterfly. Following it into the wilderness isn't a hardship. Finding the massive cocoon hanging from a tree is maybe a little concerning, but her scientific mind is also excited about it. Then something emerges from the cocoon and now Avery is faced with being part of something much bigger than herself.

That sounds dirty, but really I just meant the creature that emerges needs Avery's help and NOT helping doesn't seem like an option for her. So she agrees and soon she's in the middle of something that rocks her world.

A giant creature with decidedly non-standard parts (to be fair, they're probably standard for it, those parts just aren't something most humans are used to), a sexy flight, and a lady who is willing to go the distance when something needs her to. GOOD TIMES!

Thoughts on Midnight Prey: With her partner out sick, Renee is alone in the abandoned building she works security for and HOO-BOY does she end up having a very interesting shift. There's a storm raging outside and something inside the building that wants to get its hands on her.

To be honest, she's a little torn about this. Actually, she's full-on terrified at first. Because the thing in the building is decidedly not human and it's interested in her. Whether it wants to play with her or devour her (in a maybe non-sexy way) is debatable and Renee is a mess when she flees midway through the night.

But a lady has to pay the bills and her partner's still out, so the next night she's back in the building trying to convince herself everything from the night before was all in her imagination. Besides, even if there WAS something there, it's probably gone by now. Right? RIGHT?

Nope. The monster in the building is there and he's still interested in anything and everything Renee.

A weirdly creepy abandoned office building, a monster who pushes boundaries, and a lady who might not mind her boundaries being pushed. *thumbs up*

Thoughts on Fright Girl: Okay. Matt and Sienna are up this time around. Matt is the total sweetheart who had a bit of a thing for Mercy, but absolutely knew she was smitten with Banner. When Banner needed help, he stepped up and found a way to guide him with his sticky familial issues. So...TOTAL SWEETHEART. Sienna, on the other hand, was the mean girl who lied about Lexie in high school and was basically one of those people who made everyone's lives miserable.

These two are polar opposites. Fortunately for both of them, Matt sweetheartness shone through and he saw that Sienna had baggage she was dealing with. He liked how effortlessly they got along when they weren't caught up in Greek-life drama (of which there was plenty). When he found out what had caused her to act the way she did in high school, he was furious on her behalf. And determined to be there for her so she didn't have to face anything on her own again.

I honestly wasn't sure how I'd feel about Sienna. To be fair, LH made me care about a couple of guys who were kind of jerks to their special someones at one point or another, but Sienna's mean girlitude previously was A LOT. And yet AND YET here I am. Liking these two together. Matt was sweetheart with a dirty mouth and Sienna was someone who was trying to turn over a new leaf and be the person she wanted to be. GOOD STUFF all around.

When circumstances have them finding this out, she's suddenly living the spiciest scenes from her favorite books. And she doesn't quite know what to think about that. She's turned on by all of it, but the guys have done a stellar job of pretending they weren't interested, so she's a little worried they might be toying with her.

The good news? They're definitely not toying. The even better news? What they ARE doing is playing for keeps. They just have to convince Ava of their intentions and work their collective way through some lingering baggage before they can have their happily ever after. Which is a big YESSSSS from me!

Thoughts on Scaredy Cat: I wasn't 100% sure I was going to like this after the first couple chapters. But, DANGIT, Shiloh won me over with his charm. Sure, some of the things he did (and does for a living) might be a little questionable, but you have to say he's 100% committed to a plan once it's in motion.

But first! Persy is a woman barely holding things together. She's good with the haunts and things that scare other people thrill her more than scare her, but she's kind of a mess outside of that. Her family isn't exactly supportive and she has a raging case of imposter syndrome. She's kind of walking a line between holding it together and about to completely fall apart at any given moment.

Then she starts getting comments on her blog that she can't stop thinking about. Not the usual negative ones that eat at her self-confidence, but ones that are almost flirty and offer to give her a real scare. Her first encounter with her stalker sort of thrills her in a way she wasn't expecting. Well, once she realized what he was doing wasn't part of the haunt. Things sort of escalated from there. Her stalker knew how to give her exactly what she was craving and push her in all the ways she wanted to be pushed.

Honestly, I didn't expect to like Shiloh NEARLY as much as I did. But his amusement/indignation over the nickname Persy gave his cat and the way he was just so blasé about what he did for a living were the tipping point. The guy was charming. He won Persy over and slid into her life with enviable ease. It was fantastic.

You know what they say, sometimes a lady just needs a guy who knows just how to apply pressure to the people trying to knock her down. And if that pressure comes at the point of a knife? SO BE IT!
