This is a very interesting Dharma book. :) It has a lot of anecdotes that I could really relate to, and not so much of those stuffs that I am uncomfortable with, if you know what I mean. :)

Unfortunately, this book is not for sale, so finding it will be a bit difficult. :) Fortunately for me though, Dad happened to get this copy from a colleague in one of the meetings he went to earlier this year. I'm glad I had the chance read it! I really need something like this at this point. :D

Found this book amongst the book that brother moved to the condo with him. Well, I usually like Jeffrey Archer's work to some extent, but I have to admit... after a while of reading his books, it starts to feel very repetitious, the feeling, the twist, the characters, everything.

Maybe I'll pause reading his books for now. :)

So far, I think I've already read (in no particular order):

Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less

The Prodigal Daughter

A Twist in the Tale

There may be more that I just do not recall... In any case, I'm sure that between dad & bro, they have every book by this author anyway. I'll just wait to see when another one turns up. d :

(book) Yarisugoshita Satsujin - Akagawa Jiro

So, I finished the 2nd book in this series by Akagawa Jiro (after Himatsubushi no Satsujin and before Toriaezu no Satsujin ).

I have to say, amongst all 3, I like the first the most (not that surprisingly, I guess) except for that last ending bit that made me feel a little uneasy.

But well, it was a fun read anyway. Something I definitely find to be entertaining while trying to brace myself for some real work... :(

I think I should take a break from all the Japanese suspense/thriller/myster/anything for now. Time to refocus!!!

Yesterday, i stopped by se-ed to kill some time while waiting for something with dad... Anyway, so i saw this book, which is a sequel to the other book i read earlier this year (Himatsubushi no Satsujin).

Anyway. This is actually the third installment... The second one was out of stock. :( so, even though the book was fun, there are many characters that i dont know, etc. And so, i'll definitely have to find the 2nd one too. :)

(book) Artemis Fowl and the Time Paradox - Eoin Colfer

I had always enjoyed the Artemis Fowl series.I mean, what's not to like about it? A genius boy who's a criminal mastermind and all the adventures with his fairy friend.

Okay, sure, this is definitely for-kids/young-adult books, but hey... on an afternoon when I'm looking for some procrastination (and my brother who's happily supplying the book to me today), this is definitely something fun to read. :)

Looking forward to the next Artemis Fowl; there's definitely going to be one. ;)

His thoughts keep coming back to "the promise"... And it was clear how his mind never wandered far from her.

I like the way the book ends... There's still so much hope there...

I read these 2 books in alternating chapters... The way they were first published in magazines... So i guess maybe one of these days, i'll try reading them both separately...

First of a pair of books telling the story of a pair of lovers, separated by unfortunate circumstances.

This book is the point of view of the girl's side, tracing the life and thoughts of Aoi.

I like the way you can see how she was so trying to NOT think about the other side at the beginning of the book, and once the gate was open, that was it.

I think i understand some of her feelings... Some...

They reminded myself of me sometimes...

(book) Murder in E Minor -- Robert Goldsborough

So, I had about 4 hours to kill this afternoon while waiting for something important to come up. I know there are literally a million other tasks I should be doing, but I couldn't find the concentration nor the motivation to do anything while I have to wait for something else.

Instead, I went to a book shelf outside the room and grabbed the first book that jumped into my hand (and almost onto my head as the book falls from the shelf!)

Anyway, I've always liked mystery, but I had actually never read any of the "Nero Wolfe" mystery before. Overall, I like the way the book is written, but the clues may have been a little too obvious and I could guess the the whodunnit part before it was revealed.

Anyway, so at the end of the book, I still have another hour to kill. Hmm.. what to do?

I dont like the cover at all. :( it's too freaky. I do like the author though. The plot is a combination of crime/psychology/social critics, all in a good balance. The author definitely has a non-standard way of just looking at things.

Anyhow. The ending of the story is a little unexpected. Of course, nothing is ever like what it seems to be. And this book is a good reminder of that.

I heard about this Last Lecture last year when the video clip was first feature on youtube (Big thanks to @bpitti) who recommended this link to me.

I instantly fell in love with the message given in the lecture, and I had since recommended it to many friends that I care about. In any case, when the book came out, I had always had the intention to read through it at least once. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to get around to it until today.

Anyway, the book is as good as I had expected it to be. Highly and truly recommended. :) Especially for any new parents... or any kid who's old enough to read. :D

The book is definitely better than the movie. It's definitely something that gives me a lot to think about. I cant help wondering whether i'd make the same choices that kati or her mom did or not...

A highly recommended book, and not just for juniors. :)

Breaking Dawn - Stephenie Meyer

So, in the end I couldn't resist finishing the last of the Twilight Series. Oh well, it's a happy ending for all, but I don't feel quite as satisfied with the ending as I should be...

Well, I guess I still like the first three (Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse) more, but I guess I'm glad it ended well.

Now, time to read something else other than vampires, romance, etc for a while. I really do need something light and thoughtless now. (and something not very cheesy... lol)

Eclipse - Stephenie Meyer

ended up starting Eclipse (against my better judgement) last night. I think I'm still putting pieces of it together in my head right now.

Reading Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse all in pretty much one sitting does have its benefit -- I like the story as a complete picture than each individual part separately. But I think I REALLY do need a break now before finishing off the series. It's definitely begining to be a bit too much.

And I need some time for some details and other emotional thoughts to settle down...

Anyway, I do like New Moon a little more than Twilight. Although, there are more than a couple of sad scenes that I cannot seem to clear away from my head now.

I think I ought to give myself a few days break before I start on Eclipse.

Good book. Interesting premises. But I don't think it's much about "vampires"... I'd think of it more like a teen age girl thing. NO WONDER my cousin (male) read it a bit less than half-way and put it completely down.

Oh well, and now I'll have to go hunt for New Moon to read then.
