I recently heard this on sirius...it's a 2 hour mix and it needs to be downloaded.

Here We Go

2011-09-09T12:59:00.000-07:00

I've decided to forgo posting an amusing picture and instead went with good ol America, being that it is the 10th anniversary of 9/11. I chose to go for a little rock with a house twist, enjoy.

North Pole (Sunny Lax Remix) - Nitrous Oxide

Just a great trance song, a little old but still amazing.

Drift - Funkagenda & Adam K

Don't give up on us - Avicii Ft. Yolanda Selini

Lick the rainbow - Mord Fustang

No idea why this hasn't hit the site previously...

The Electric Zoo Mix - Stephen Milner

A 60 minute mix of brilliance

Just a classic

Hannah Jane - Hootie & The Blowfish

Eminence Front - The Who

Probably my favorite song to date

Recovery Sunday

2011-09-04T13:56:00.000-07:00

Luckily we don't have class tomorrow at Miami so I had the chance to go to Chicago for the North Coast festival. I saw Big Gigantic, Rusko, sts9, common, and others. Basically Lollapalooza on a smaller scale...anyway since it's Sunday I won't be posting anything aggressive.

Sky high - Big Gigantic
The band's combination of a sax and synthesizers is quite impressive.

Ghetto Dreams - Common ft. Nas
Here's a relatively new single from two of the rap game's finest. Common killed it last night at North Coast.

Lights - Potomac Boys Club
This one came out over the summer, but hands down one of my favorites.

Driftin - Big Gigantic
Find this song on iTunes stat

Time for what you want (biggie & semisonic) - Brenton Duvall
I'm a huge fan of mashups and this one flows perfectly

Some other party in paradise (biggie & phil collins) - Brenton Duvall

Armistice (yacht remix) - Phoenix

It's the weekend, bitches

2011-09-02T08:34:00.000-07:00

Doesn't it feel good to finish off that first week of classes? I've assembled some solid music to help you all continue that rock star week.

Blackhawk - James Egbert

I'd never heard of this guy until a few days ago, this song is a perfect blend of dub and electronic music.

James Egbert EP

Here's a 4 song EP, I can assure you it's worth downloading

Call my name - Spencer and Hill remix

Pop culture - Madeon

And the French kid does it again...this song is comprised of samples from 39 different songs, yes, that is talent.

Flashback - Calvin Harris

Remix of Avicii's ID. Calvin does not disappoint on this one

I need more Hau5

2011-08-26T14:30:00.000-07:00

If Bruce Dickinson was still in the music scene, he'd be asking for more hau5. This playlist should start off the syllabus week at the dick aka the week of debauchery and freshman scoping.

Selecta - Afrojack (Lazerdisk Party Sex Remix)

I wish all orgasms sounded like this

Pumped up kicks - Foster the People (Skeet Skeet Remix)

Where my keys - Deadmau5

New Deadmau5, epic as always

Pretty Lights vs Led Zeppelin - Pretty Lights

Simply perfect

I know the truth - Pretty Lights

Here's another track that dropped this summer. Equally dubby and equally awesome

Bass Injection

2011-08-22T13:06:00.000-07:00

So ID was amazing as expected, hopefully the people in charge bring it back for another go round next year. Rusko brought the house down and was a great precursor to Kaskade, who cranked up the production levels for the final show of the evening. Chuckie, Avicii, Nero, Datsik, all great too as I'm sure the rest of the lineup was. So in honor of Rusko being my favorite portion of the evening, here is an assault of dub and bass to get you moving your feet when you head back to school.

Cold Blank - Die Famous (FS & Reid Speed Remix)
The original mix of this song is equally good, but FS & Reid Speed's remix brings it into a mentally unstable, dubbed out overdrive

Zomboy - Game Time
Zomboy has a sound eerily similar to Skrillex (they are on the same record label, hmmm....), and this track maintains the melodic interludes and bassed out drops that Skrillex incorporates. peanut butta jelly time.

Kaskade & Adam K - Raining (The SoniXx Remix)
One of my favorite Kaskade songs, with a perfect dub twist.

Savoy - I'm In Need
HEEAAAVVYYY track from Savoy, starts off real melodic with a sweet sample and then just smacks you in the mouth with bass

Marvin Gaye - What's Goin On (Nit Grit Remix)
Marvin and dubstep. Doesn't get any better.

Identity Festival Prep Pack

2011-08-19T14:39:00.000-07:00

Gearing up for IDFestival to hit Massachusetts, already have heard nothing but incredible things about this festival. Way to be Skullcandy and Dim Mak (Steve Aoki's record label) for setting this thing up. Doesn't come close to an Ultra or an EDC but a day packed with artists like Kaskade, Avicii, Rusko, and Chuckie can't dissapoint. Anyway, regardless of whether or not ID has hit your city yet, here is a mini prep (or recap) pack of songs with some BRAND NEW AVICII to get you Ready2Rage at the festival or relive one of the best days of your life.

Avicii - Morphine (Suncity Festival Anthem)
Brand new Avicii. Incredible.

Kaskade ft. Haley - Dynasty (Dada Life Remix)
Title track off Kaskade's "Dynasty" from last year remixed to perfection by house legends Dada Life.

Kaskade - Eyes (ft. Mindy Gledhill)
Brand new stuff from Kaskade

Rusko - Woo Boost
A Rusko classic

Rusko - Everyday (Netsky Remix)
Rusko's latest single with a remix twist courtesy of Netsky

Avicii - Fade Into Darkness (Vocal Edit)
Made serious noise back when it was just "Penguin", adding vocals took it to the next level

Avicii & David Guetta - Sunshine
A cut off Guetta's new album, coming out next Tuesday. Avicii has been dropping this heat all summer

Matsiksoul & Dada - Bang It All (Chuckie Remix)
Hot Chuckie remix

Chuckie & Hardwell - Move It 2 the Drum
A Chuckie favorite of mine

The Streets - In The Middle (Nero Remix)
Oh yeah, Nero will be there too

See you there...

Boozapalooza Recap

2011-08-18T14:28:00.000-07:00

I recently went to my fifth consecutive Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, home of the 1985 super bowl champion bears, and Hurricane Ditka. As always, Lolla exceeded expectations. So, I have comprised a playlist from some of the notable acts in order to relive the debauchery. In order to get the site back to its potential I'll be pumping out beats like the octomom pumps out newborns...enjoy.

Falling Star (R3K Remix) - Kid Cudi

Cudi is a below average performer, take my word for it I have seen him 4 times but it doesn't take away from his skill in the studio.

Best Day Ever (Mixtape) - Mac Miller

His Dickinson appearance probably didn't go as planned, however he was real good at lolla, this mixtape should show you...keep floatin and BDE are great songs.

Rage:

Professional Griefers - Deadmau5

This is a brand new Deadmau5 song.

The Island (Pendulum) - Madeon

Madeon is a 17 year old French DJ, check it out.

Lunar - Afrojack & David Guetta

One word, rage.

Prutataaa - Afrojack

Sunshine - Avicii Ft. David Guetta

Brand new Avicii, because who doesn't like new Avicii?

Pressure (Alesso Remix) - Starkillers

Calvin West has a very good remix of this song too.

Let The Bass Kick - Chuckie

Domino - Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77

These guys absolutely killed it...I am posting a video below too.

Dub:

Reasons (Doctor P remix) - 12th Planet

If you're in to heavy dub, this is definitely the song for you.

Country Roads - Pretty Lights

Derek recently performed this John Denver hit at All Good festival, it has become an instant fan favorite.

Some Extraterrestrial Remixes

2011-04-05T16:17:00.000-07:00

This song may honestly be the song of the year at this point, so naturally it had to get the house/dubstep treatment from some of the best remix artists out there. Brace yourself, here are some sick remixes of Katy Perry's "E.T."

House
Katy Perry - E.T. (Tiesto Remix)
brings the heat as only Tiesto can

Katy Perry - E.T. (Benny Benassi Remix)
my personal favorite

Dubstep
Katy Perry - E.T. (Noisia Remix)
womptastic to say the least

"Ghettoblaster" & Other Tasty Dubstep Beats

2011-03-22T18:32:00.000-07:00

All dubstep all day today. 2 fresh singles from Play Me artist Metaphase, both are sick and brand new releases on beatport, more melodic than the usual stuff and both have sweet vocal samples. The Mark Instinct remix of Bare's "Rocks", which uses a great Game sample (if your ears are skilled enough to recognize it). A heavy, grimey speaker exploder from Sluggo & Helicopter Showdown. And the icing on the cake, Rusko's newest single "Everyday", unreal song, Rusko is back. Hope this gives all the dubstep fans their fill for the next few dayz.

Metaphase - Ghettoblaster (Original Mix)

Metaphase - Make Me Feel (Original Mix)

Bare - Rocks (Mark Instinct Remix)

Helicopter Showdown & Sluggo - Hostage

Rusko - Everyday

Penguin

2011-03-19T11:25:00.000-07:00

Avicii is a freak, plain and simple. He turns out banger after banger like it's no big deal. I have been listening to crappy, unfinished versions of this track for weeks now and finally we have an original mix out there clocking in at just under 6 mins. "Penguin" is one of the catchiest tunes I have heard in a while, that main piano riff is unreal. This song is huge, god bless Avicii.

Avicii - Penguin (Original Mix)

Born This Way Remixes

2011-03-18T11:35:00.000-07:00

Lady Gaga is a guilty pleasure of mine, and nothing makes me happier than when a handful of house music superstars take it upon themselves to remix her work. The Skrillex remix of "Bad Romance", the Afrojack remix of "Alejandro", the list goes on. Her newest single "Born This Way" is attracting a crew of remix-hungry DJs that absolutely kill it. I present to you a trio of filthy remixes from Dada Life, Michael Woods, and L.A. Riots. Each one is different, and each one is awesome. Generally they stick to the electro-house realm but especially with Michael Woods, there is some progressive action in there, enjoy.

New Deadmau5 Track

2011-03-16T15:36:00.000-07:00

Deadmau5 released a new song entitled "HR 8938 Cephai" (I have no idea) on Beatport recently after staying pretty quiet following the release of 4x4=12. Considering the entire album leaked before it was released on iTunes I'm sure the mau5 is trying to avoid any leakage these days. This song, I believe, was coupled with another one called "Bleed". The "Bleed" track sucks quite frankly, if the one I have heard is the true version (which I really hope is the case). However, I like this one a lot, brings me back to the "I Remember" and "Move for Me" days. Give it a listen.

This is probably gonna get pulled by Deadmau5 or Ultra or somebody, so grab it while you can.

Aliens & Vampires

2011-03-16T06:48:00.000-07:00

Figure dropped a new 2 track single the other day on Beatport entitled "Monsters of Drumstep". Contains 2 incredibly grimey, dirty as fuck, bass-drummed out dubstep tracks. I am warning you, these tracks are not for the faint of heart. Basically the grimed out, filth you can come to expect from Figure (other notable tracks: "Everybody" & "Bring the Bass Back" with Calvertron). If you like it dirrrrty like I do, then turn this shit up and rage out. Weird as fuck

Spring Break Mega Post

2011-03-14T11:45:00.000-07:00

Spring break is great, either a chance to relax at home and see some old buddies, or just straight rage in a warm, foreign destination. Either way you'll need some serious music to get you through the break. Here are some of the best tunes from the last couple of weeks. First up, a trippy track from Daladubz that Bassnectar has been tearing apart at his spring shows thus far. A Thomas Gold progressive house banger remix. Another Progressive House Beatport dominator courtesy of Axwell and a few other heads. A hot cut off Mac Millers mixtape "Best Day Ever. A tech house banger ripping up Beatport courtesy of Fedde Le Grand. A terrifyingly dubtastic take on Wiz Khalifa's "Purp & Yellow" courtesy of Bare. And to top it all off, a throwback track courtesy of once dominant Cali duo Andre Nickatina and Mac Dre (of Thizzle Dance fame).

Daladubz - Pink Elephants (VIP)

Jay C & Felix Baumgartner - Souk (Thomas Gold Remix)

David Tort - One Look (Axwell vs. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike Remix)

Mac Miller - Donald Trump

Fedde Le Grand - Control Room (Original Mix) YOUTUBE LINK

Bare - Purp & Yellow

Andre Nickatina & Mac Dre - Hot Jalapenos

Amen/Raveadelic

2011-03-09T13:21:00.000-08:00

For those who don't know, Chrizz Luvly is one of the biggest up and coming Electro/House artists out there. His song are all certified bangers and every single one is a key ingredient in a ragetastic dance party. He released this beast of a double single/EP on Beatport recently, and let me tell you, both these songs are incredible. A must for any Electro-House fan. So check em out, "Amen" and "Raveadelic", below. Plow through those midterms and go out with a bang, people.

Ragestep

2011-03-08T14:11:00.000-08:00

A small collection of some serious dubstep, tried to keep it mostly new but had to bring back some old favorites. First off is a tough track from Ry Legit featuring some creatively placed Toy Story samples. Second, Skrillex continues his outrageous dubstep streak following up "Cinema" with a glitched out face melting collaboration with 12th planet. FS brings another banger with "Yup", and a few old Bassnectar and Rusko classics to celebrate their spring tours. Enjoy.

Ry Legit - Buzz Lightyear

Skrillex & 12th Planet - Needed Change

FS - Yup

Rusko - Jahova

Bassnectar - Cozza Frenzy (Mega-Bass Remix)

I Have One Speed, GO

Turbulence

2011-03-01T13:22:00.000-08:00

Holy Santa Claus shit.

Steve Aoki,

Laidback Luke,

Lil' Jon.

Lil' Fucking Jon.

Banger.

Laidback Luke & Steve Aoki ft. Lil Jon - Turbulence (Original Mix)

Pure Jams

2011-02-27T12:03:00.000-08:00

Nothing to say, these are all sooper dooper jams. I neglected the dubstep this week so there are a few serious dub gems in here. I put the team on my back.

Phetsta - Run You Down

Sweet, melodic dubber with some great sounding vocal parts.

Trainwreck - Collision Course

Hardcore dubstep song, real tough and grimey.

Sidney Samson & Steve Aoki - Wake Up Call (Original Mix)

Electro-house gold. Also older, but this song is one of the hardest out there right now, when it drops there is no way you will still be in your seat.

Calvertron - Rock It, Roll It (DirtyLoud Remix)

#1 dubstep song on Beatport going on about a week, it seems once again that Calvertron is incapable of making a bad track. Wub.

Tinie Tempah ft. Ellie Goulding - Wonderman (Bare Noize Remix)

Seriously tough dubstep song. Tinie Tempah (of "Miami 2 Ibiza" fame) kills it once again on this track. Add the unbeatable voice of Ellie Goulding and the terrifying yet awesome style of Bare Noize, and what you get is arguably the best dubstep track released this year.

Call My Name

2011-02-23T08:15:00.000-08:00

This track is HUGE! Sweet progressive jam remixed by some of the best in the business. Love Nadia Ali's voice, you may remember her from Avicii's remix of her "Rapture" track. Seriously, every version of this song is different and well done. Dave Aude and Spencer & Hill lend their talents to the track for the 2 additional remixes posted. Dave Aude did that killer remix of Rihanna's "S&M" that I posted the other day, and I think when I name drop Spencer & Hill, nothing more needs to be said.

PS...Original mix is a YouTube link, no free download out there yet.

Sultan & Ned Shepard ft. Nadia Ali - Call My Name (Original Mix)

2011-02-20T19:22:00.000-08:00

HOLY BLAKE GRIFFIN! Guy can throw it down. After a great weekend, here are a few tracks both new and old alike that drop about as hard as Blake throws it down. A couple tough Progressive tracks courtesy of Axwell and Thomas Gold, really great dance floor material right there, A cut off Wiz Khalifa's new mixtape "Cabin Fever", an electro-house banger courtesy of PBJ, and a classic Wolfgang Gartner jam to celebrate the announcement of his spring tour. See you in Philly on April 29th, Wolf.

TV Rock - In the Air (Axwell Remix)
