Here is a look at one of the small emergency fishing kits that I carry in my backpacks. It is in a altoids smalls tin and has fishing line, hooks, sinkers, and a few eyelets for making improvised fishing rods. I keep these kits scattered in the bottoms of my packs so that I never forget them and have them when I need them. They are perfect for your bug out bag, backpacking, camping, hunting, or any shtf gear. They are small enough to fit in your pocket and cover the basics of what you need to catch fish. Boarding Windows with Polycarbonate Hurricane Panels – Hurricane Preparedness

Boarding windows is quick and easy if you follow these step by step instructions from Lowe’s. Learn how to board your windows with Clearview® polycarbonate storm panels. Measure each window opening and add 8 inches to the height and width. If your window has a sill, only add 4 inches to the height. The hurricane panel will be attached to the sill with a mounting bracket. Mark and cut the panels. Mark holes 6 inches from each corner, at least 1 inch from the ends. Then space the holes at most 12 inches apart. Make sure the holes line up with a solid surface on your house, like a stud. Drill the holes in the panel and make sure the UV side of the panel is facing out. Center the polycarbonate panel over the window and mark the hole positions on your house. Drill the holes and drive the anchors. If you have a sill, install a bracket. Remove the film from the inside of the panel and install the hurricane panel. Review of my brand new Marbles Outdoors firefighter’s survival axe. At $16.99 this is a fantastic piece of survival gear for shtf or bushcraft adventures. Although this is more of a machete than an axe or hawk, it is still nonetheless a very impressive piece of budget gear. I can’t wait to put this thing to the test. It appears to be a very good option for wilderness or urban survival or part of your bug out bag. This thing is a knife, machete, axe, hatchet, and tomahawk all rolled into one.
