Yet another Cali fun time I am missing this year. The Grand National Roadster Show is a mind blower every year and I eagerly await the photos to see what’s what.

This is an amazing roadster from The Lifters Car Club out of San Diego. Photo by lens and pen king Coop. Here is a link to the rest of the pics Coop posted. This is not the type of car the roadster show is known for, but this is the type of car I would trip out on when walking around the show.

Not much on the net about this Lifters club, but why should there be when they deal in 50+ year old cars. Here is one article that is interesting and has some photos to check out.

After looking at a bunch of blogs photos, there are two motorcyles that I am tripping out on.

The Slow Poke by Nostalgia on Wheels is an amazing build featuring all the right tricks and attention to detail. I like the fun attitude of the bike and feel like the colors and the snail character adds a lot to the design. I check out this dude’s blog every day and I am impress to see all his influences come out in one machine.

and The Fairy Duster by Foundry Moto. This is pure beauty, the colors, the chrome, the bars, the fender, the seat and even the display are perfect! This is the type of bike I would trade all my possessions for.

Another big blog topic for the day, but I am trying to stay on top of this blogging thing and there is not a lot going on today in my world. We got a flat tire on our car, but what is exciting and blogable about that.

I was following that apple/steve action on Engadget, getting up to the minute reports and pictures. I was amazed that these updates were happening so quick. Did the reporter even have time to enjoy the presentation? Will they re-live the experience tonight when they check their rss feed? Engadget also quickly released this hands on report of this new hardware.

My first reaction to this thing is pretty cool, but fairly narrow category of uses. It looks like it would be fun for after work couch surfing or travel and that is about it. The price lends it self to people with disposable income that want a new toy, but I don’t think it is the solution to reading books for the rest of man kind. I like a stack of books and magazine around the house. Gives my space in infinity a comfortable feel. I get happy when I see a stack of things I read and enjoyed, or excited to read that stack of new books I have yet to read. I don’t get that feeling from my desktop, laptop or iphone when I see them, I just see work I have not completed!

This is just a half ass product review since I have not actually seen the thing, so I will call this a review of the release and commentary on the marketing roll out. Bottom line, pretty successful at catching my attention for a few hours.

Just got the notice that the new issue of DICE MAGAZINE has been released. I am sure there was some kick ass chopper drinking release party over the weekend, but I am live across the country from all that so I just get the email announcement. If you have not checked out Dice magazine and you are interested in motorcycles, skateboards, vans or other time machines to a classic time, then you must order your copy today.

I got a subscription for Christmas from my wife. So happy to not have to run to order the new copy every time. Hell it might even be at my house when I get home, wouldn’t that be nice. I like a lot of magazines, but Dice continues to wow and excite me every issue. I think it is because of the casual approach to some topics taken seriously by some people. It makes your interests more fun and not just some facts thrown on the page for nerds. The general approach reminds me of the early issues of Big Brother or music fan zines. Some random words set to the printed images adds so much to the story.

I am sure this is the most blogged topic today but who cares. The show was killer. Just watched the show again, so many great bits. The loose style added a lot to the goodbye show. Conan looks so focused when is playing the guitar, like he knows how to play but hasn’t played much lately. Maybe we will see a Conan album! What about Beck on stage with that crew.

Neil Young had a knock out performance. It looked like he was in the green room relaxing and they surprised him when he had to go on. But in perfect form just knocks out a song in tribute to a comedy king.

Last night I went to see my pal Isaac Lin’s latest collection of work at Fleisher Ollman Gallery right here in Philadelphia. The opening was packed with friends and fans, everyone enjoying the playful space and diving into the patterns Lin creates. The photo collaborations were over the top and Lin was able to add another story to each with his signature patterns and directions.

Here is one of my favorite pieces from the show. These cut outs are great and would look awesome on my wall!

The rainbow ones are stand outs

This was some of the patterns inside this room Lin built. I felt like it was a strange chapel of sorts

Make sure to check out the work when it goes online or if you are in Philadelphia go take a look in person

If there is anyone out there still checking out this blog then hello! I am back up on the blogging horse and ready to get posting again. This time around I am gonna try to write more and share more of my everyday web finds.

Awesome Universal Monsters Soakies pics I found on Bounty Hunter Site.

Since the last time I posted I have become a father and it is great. I am loving life. It is nice to enter this phase of life and be ready for it with a great wife and love to accept this little nugget into our life.

I am still collecting, but just been slow these days because of a low amount of work. I have been collecting information and skill though. It is fun to learn new things and I am even taking a class. Learning new skills is really fun and help keeps me positive in all aspects of life. I like meeting new people who have information for me too. I am learning new “protocols” and methods to approach the same problems and tasks I have been dealing with for years.

I have gotten really into RSS and reading the blogs of other people. I use Google Reader, here is a link to the posts I think are fun that I find there. Since the start of the internet I looks around daily for new pages and posts, but since the rise of the blog there are so many sites to go to. Using RSS has changed the way I access all this cool info. I can spend more time reading than searching out these pages. I used to have a million bookmarks, now I don’t even use them unless a site I like doesn’t offer RSS.

So what is next for RFSO, not sure but I know I will be sharing more of my thoughts and by-products here.
