Here's a little more of Doc...the sun was just coming up and it was pouring outside, so it's kind of hard to see three black dogs in a MINI with a grey and black interior!!!

MINI to the Rescue

I got to do another dog rescue transport this weekend. Three dogs...going from Memphis to New Jersey. One standard poodle, an adult lab mix, and a lab mix puppy. My leg of the transport was about 100 miles. It's nice when people send pictures of the dogs or cats after they get into their new homes. This picture is of Doc, the standard poodle who rode "shotgun" in the MINI. Fun! Very smart dog.

Okay, so Knoxville, you've got some work to do. When I first got Smidget I was always greeted by a fellow happy-go-lucky-post-or-pre-hippie MINI owner. But now, as the MINI cat is out-of-the-bag, the group I used to wave to have been replaced by a surly group of people who do not deserve a long and ridiculous hyphenated description disguised as a really big adjective.

Seven of 10 MINIs are not just distracted or picking their noses (I would accept both as valid reasons for not acknowledging a fellow MINI), they are looking at me and watching me wave and continuing to project surly, anti-MINI behavior.

Surly, anti-MINI behavior. We have been infiltrated by grumpy-ass people. The gene pool has been peed in.

Imposters, give up your MINIs! Of all the cities Smidget has been to, her hometown, sadly, is the most unfriendly habitat so far.

It's time for new tires. Smidget is dreading such an expensive purchase. Run-flats are no small investment...

Smidget and I (and my mom) went on a cat rescue adventure June 4. We were part of a seven-cat rescue relay to Atlanta...all Persians! They are all stretched out, cleaned up and getting ready for new homes now! Smidget can put a lot of booty in her boot if she needs to! Oh, and the above pic was taken on the way home with the exposure set at 10 sec...warp speed!

An officemate told me about this coaster...looks cute, but not nearly as much fun as riding around in a real one!

I recently checkered Smidget and added driving lights. "Check" it out...
The rearview mirror cover is a new option, but the side mirrors have been available for a while.

Though the driving lights are really road-rally-cool, I'll probably use them about once a year on a mountain road.

I also opted for the iPOD hook-up which has worked great, though you have to relearn iPOD navigation. It's much more limited than the clickwheel controls. I still give it a major thumbs-up, though.
