Everyone has offers and deals but I highly recommend that you stay away from Frontier.com. It has been my experience that since they took over Verizon.com in our neighbor hood our quality of service has gone down. On numerous accounts with the "new" Frontier.com I have found their customer service reps to be undertrained, and unable to provide you with the same information twice. On more then one occasion when I was told I would be chatting with a Frontier represntative from the local area I ended up speaking with someone from Washington state and I live in Indiana (not really local). To top that off, the representative fo Frontier from the Washington state area had stated that he would pass on my information to the local agents when they came available to help solve my problem. Upon calling back to Frontier.com 3 days later I learned that they had no clue about my request but did see notaions on my account regarding the conversation I had with the Washington state rep.

Needless to say I cancelled my service on Novermber 8th (they were closed on the weekend so I could not cancel earlier) to Frontier.com. At which point they did bill me for the month of December a mere $151.00 which did affect my Christmas spending for my children. And when I contacted Frontier.com about this I was informed that December would be my final bill and I will recieve a rebate check in January. Upon recieving my bill from Frontier.com on January 14th I was rudely informed that I will have to wait until February 14th before I get back the rebate that I am owed from thier over charging way back in November.

So again I say, if you are considering Frontier.com do not be fooled by their offers and adds for you will only pay for it more in the end. I almost think that a pair of rabbit ears on your television would be 100% better then the poor, uninformed, inaccurate, misleading load of crap that you will recieve from Frontier.com.

Today I saw the ultimate in lazyness from a parent. This was even worse then seeing the minivan load of kids climbing in and out of the van to go knock on the doors to get candy which in itself is pathetic.

Today, I was playing in the front yard with my 3 children and this little boy of maybe 8 or 9 walks up and says "I am a cub scout and am out selling M&M's plain and peanut for a dollars a bag". Well I look down and he has a ziplock bag filled with individual bags of M&M' (plain and peanut) and those bags look worn. He is not wearing a cubscout uniform, and is only going to places where he see's people. I glance around and I see a man in a minivan half a block away waiting. I inform the boy that I have no money at this time and he moves on. I continued to watch him walk, and this van following (always a half a block back). He obviously knows this van as he keeps watching it and is in no hurry to get to as many houses as possible.

Now maybe it is me, but as a father and a parent the dad should have been walking with his son and yes staying back to let his son do the selling but be there for support not just trailing behind like a lazy POS that he seemed to be. As a parent what kind of message does this send to our kids? Hey son its ok to be lazy and just drive around, not give any tips or moral support to your kids so they can grow up to be just like me. Yea, what a message. If you didn't want kids then keep it in your pants, if you have kids then man up, don't make the same mistakes your parent or parents did, and be the best father a child could ask for.

Sorry to say, with sex comes responsibility either be ready to accept that responsibility or don't have sex. Only you can chose to make this a better world.

For years even decades we have watched our politicians get richer, and use our money to fund their retirement programs. Its seems also that no matter how bad our economy is they can still vote themselves raises yet have the audacity to complain about banks and companies giving million dollar bonuses. Now don't get me wrong, I think that the business and bank executives should forego their golden parachute payouts until everything is back on track and unemployent is low again. But as usual it seems that with power comes greed. Right now now lets focus on our elected officials.

I wonder how many people in this country are aware that our government officials do not pay into or recieve money from social security. Instead they have set up their own funding of taxpayer dollars that will pay them upwards of $15,000.00 a month, yes a month when they retire from capital hill. And this payout will continue for their spouse as well untill both are deceased. So it should come as no surprise that when our government wants or needs money that just take it from social security (they have no vested interest in it) and when they want more minority votes they allow foreigners who have never payed into it but justed moved here from other countries to be elegible to recieve payment from it. This puts even more strain on the tax payers shoulders and threatens to end social security even sooner. Now the monthly retirement pay they recieve does not include any secret service or other perks that they may recieve from having served on capital hill, or the fact that they recieved a six figure income every year plus having most of what they needed paid for by tax payer money over the years. If you think about it, it is no wonder our country is so broke. Can you run a business successfully when you continue to syphon money from the accounts no matter how good or bad things are? With unemployment high that means fewer tax dollars being put into the system can we really afford to pay inflated wages and outrageous retirements to our elected officials?

It is time that we, as a nation, stand up and fire all of our elected politicians and let the government know that they are in those positions to represent the people of this nation, not to represent their own pocket books. The Constitution states that our government should be for the people, by the people, and of the people of this great land. Let your politician know that they must step up and do what is right for the people they represent, not just for their pocket book, and that they need to reduce all of the money that they are recieving and allow that money to go to the people that truly need it to survive until they are back on their feet. And that if you don't pay into the system you do not recieve from the system.

What is happening to our country. We used to be the greatest nation on earth, full of pride, self respect, hope, and determination. But, that was back when our parents and their parents were leading this nation. It seems that as time has progressed we have decided to try and take the easy path. We don't want to take responsibility for our own actions and choices. It is easier to say "its not my fault", or "that is not my problem". We want to blame our schools for the decline our childrens education, we want to blame our environment for our behavior or status in life. Point the finger at evrybody else but where it belongs.

Well people here is a news flash, a slap in the face, and your wake-up call. Our children will not get better unless we as parents make them a priority in our life. We can't expect our school systems to teach them everything and tie our schools hands behind their backs and expect it to work. We have to be there and make sure our children are doing they homework, make sure they are reading everyday, and be responsible for their actions. As a parent do you know who your childrens friends are? If you truly love and care about your children you should. I have 3 children and I know it can be very tiring keeping up with all 3 of my kids, but I think they are worth my time, and energy to raise to be a better person then me. And here is a tip for all of you new parents, or soon to be parents, start talking to your kids about everything when they are young. Don't wait until they are 10 or older to talk about smoking, or drugs, or even sex. Keep it simple but start as soon as they can understand words that you say, and repeat it a couple times a month. Right now if you ask any of my kids (ages 4-7) they will tell you that drugs are bad and why, that smoking is bad, and why, and that they can talk to me or my wife at anytime. I have found that since I started when they were very little, it is easy to talk to even my 7 yr old about anything with no problems.
Our country's future rests on the shoulders of our children. Lets raise them and take responsibility for them and their actions. Lets build our country again. Lets take responsibility for our future and teach our children to do the same.

What is truth? How important is truth? Truth is one of the virtues of life that we should live by, and that we must live by if we want to maintain our honor, dignity, self-respect, and respect from others. Now we can look back through time and see history repeat itself over and over and over again. Great nations have risen and fallen by the morals of its people. Time has shown that a nation that is/was a God fearing nation (whether it was a single diety or multiple dieties that they worshiped doesn't matter) tended to have people of strong moral values, and a sense of truth about themselves and their actions. These nations always seemed to be strong, self reliant, proud, and destined for a good future. But as years would pass and the beliefs in the God or Gods wavered or diminished so would the values of the people, and as the values declined the nation would decline sacrificing morals, and values for material objects, greed, and even lust. And when the societies reached these points the nation would crumble and the surrounding countries would attack and take it over, instituting its own beliefs and rituals.

Now I would say that I am a proud American, I love my country with all my heart. But as I look around I see our decline and it is gaining speed. First, we let our government get too big, which means that it now sees itself as our big brother and thinks that it knows whats best for each and every one of us. Second, we have taken God out of our lives, now I am not a bible thumper, I don't believe in cramming my beliefs down everyones throats but I do believe in God and his goodness as our forefathers did when they founded our great nation. We as a people have let others cram their beliefs down our throats so much that we go out of our way to appease them and disregard our own beliefs. Thirdly, greed has taken over, we as a nation are more concerned about money and what we can get, should get, or even what we think we deserve (not neccesarily earned) that we will stab our own family mebers and friends in the back to get it. No longer do you see people helping each other just to be helpful or friendly, nowadays we only help if it is a benefit to us first.

If we don't want to lose our nation then we need to look in the mirror and see the truth of what we have become. Once we do that, we can fix our own individual selves, and once we fix ourselves we can help our children and friends to see the right and wrongs and to see and face the truths in themselves. Then once they see the truth and make truth a part of their lives they can help their friends and families, and so on, and so forth. Until once again we are the country standing talling, shoulders back, chin up, and the leaders of the world. But it all starts with each of us looking in that mirror and making the choice to face the truth of who we are and becoming the person we were supposed to be.

Musashi is a well known martial artist from fuedal Japan. He is considered the Kensei, sword-saint of Japan. The name "Musashi" was thought to be taken from the name of a warrior monk named Musashibō Benkei who served under Minamoto no Yoshitsune, but this is unconfirmed.

It's said that he may have studied at the Yoshioka ryu school, which was also said to be a school Musashi defeated single-handedly during his later years, although this is very uncertain. He did have formal training either by his father until he was 7 years old or from his uncle beginning at the age of 7. Ultimately the name was taken from his own original kanji, which can be read as Takezo or as Musashi, as stated in Eiji Yoshikawa's book Musashi.

At the age of 13 Musashi fought in his first duel killing his opponent, by the age of 60 he had been in over sixty duels with (according to legend ) only 1 ending in a draw, the rest were victories. This does not include the men that he had killed in battle. He was involved in several major battles during his time, and the number of enemies he killed from them are unknown. In April 13, 1612, Musashi fought his most famous duel, with Sasaki Kojiro, who wielded a nodachi. Musashi came late and unkempt to the appointed place — the remote island of Funajima, north of Kokura. The duel was short. Musashi killed his opponent with a bokken that he had carved from an oar while traveling to the island. Musashi fashioned it to be longer than the nodachi, making it closer to a modern suburito.

Musashi's late arrival is controversial. Sasaki's outraged supporters thought it was dishonorable and disrespectful while Musashi's supporters thought it was a fair way to unnerve his opponent. Another theory is that Musashi timed the hour of his arrival to match the turning of the tide. The tide carried him to the island. After his victory, Musashi immediately jumped back in his boat and his flight from Sasaki's vengeful allies was helped by the turning of the tide. Another theory states he waited for the sun to get in the right position. After he dodged a blow Sasaki was blinded by the sun. At this time Musashi would have delivered the killing blow to the chest of Sasaki ending the duel.

In the year 1643 Musashi retired to a cave and began writing his "Book of Five Rings" or "Go Rin No Sho" . He finished the book in 1644 and passed its knowledge onto his closest disciple. And in June of 1645, the greatest warrior and swordsman of his time passed away leaving a legand and legacy that have since been unrivaled. His book is still read and the knowledge still continues to be used not only only the field of battle, but also the board rooms around the world of major businesses.

For hundreds of years the Iga group of Ninja were the major force in ninjutsu. Smaller groups existed in other parts of Japan, but in the Sengoku era Ninja groups sprang up throughout Japan. Within these groups of spies, saboteurs, and killers, there developed two super groups: the Iga of Mie prefecture and the deadly Koga of Shiga prefecture. Not surprisingly, Shiga is next to Mie prefecture in southern Japan. The Koga and Iga inhabited the same mountain range, in two valleys divided by a mountain. Completely isolated from the outside world, they lived as farmers and were sought after by the locals for medicine, herbs, weather forecasting, and agriculture help.

In time there were great generals who gradually unified Japan. These leaders such as Oda Nobunaga, Takeda Shingen, and possibly the greatest general in Japanese history Tokugawa Ieyasu all employed the Ninja to help control the country through a complex spy network.

The Koga Ninja consisted of fifty-three families. They specialized in medicines and explosives and developed many of the tools and weapons used by the Ninja. Though small in number, they were an elite force and became the second most famous group, besides the Iga, in the annals of ninjutsu. Based near Kyoto, they were recruited by the great leaders of Japan as counselors and military strategists.

In 1600 the Koga rescued lord Tokugawa from an assassination attempt by rival Ninja. They made a dummy of Lord Tokugawa, filled it with explosives, and placed it in Tokugawa's carriage. Then, acting as personal escort, they made it known that Tokugawa was on the move through enemy territory. This diversionary tactic succeeded when the false carriage was attacked by the enemy and all the Koga Ninja killed, giving the real carriage with Tokugawa precious time to escape.

In time Tokugawa became the shogun of Japan. He ruled from the city of Edo, now called Tokyo, and took three hundred ninja with him from both Koga and Iga to be his personal bodyguards. They were placed in positions of gardeners and personal valets. The Koga ninjas were at the front, and the Iga were responsible for the rear of the castle.

And under Tokugawa there began a reign of peace that lasted for 265 years. As the years passed the need for Ninja's declined and the number of men willing to endure the intense training needed to become a ninja declined as well because these young men did not want to just become gardeners for Lord Tokugawa. This was the decline of the powerful Ninjas from Japans proud history.

Who were the best ninjas of fuedal Japan, that is a question that is not easily answered. Though virtually every clan throughout Japan had its own form of ninjitsu training, there were only a couple whose name and reputations bacame legendary. The shinobi were used as spies, sabatuers, and assasins by the most powerful and wealthy leaders in Japan and virtually every province had some form of its own ninjas so there were no shortages of the elite warriors.

In time there were two schools of ninjitsu that continued to show the excellence of their training. First were the warriors from the clans in the Iga provence. Iga is located in the central area of Japan in a mountainous region. Its location being a basin surrounded by mountains afforded it good protection from outside forces and also provided excellent terrain for the ninjas to train. As their reputation grew the need for them to prove their abilities was not needed. For in fuedal Japan before a ninja was hired for a specific mission he would be required to perform a less critical mission showing that he would be capable of executing and surviving the orginal mission that he would be hired for. But the excellence of their training and the past success of previous Iga ninjas cemented their reputation so much that just stating that you were from Iga gauranteed immediate hire for the primary missions. Now back in the late 1500's the warlord Oda Nobunaga had come to hate and fear the Iga ninjas because they would not bow down to him and perform any mission that he declared. He felt that if they would not bow to him then they should be conquered. In 1579 Oda sent his son and a force of soldiers in to Iga to dominate them, that attack however failed miserably. Two years later in 1581 Oda launched another attack this time though he sent somewhere between 40,000 and 60,000 soldiers and attacked from 6 different directions. This attack succeeded as Oda's men slaughtered a large population of this regions inhabitants. He did make one error in that he called a cease fire before everyone was killed and this allowed for some of the remaining ninjas to escape in the surrounding countryside. Though the strength of Iga never returned some believe that the teachings did and this training helped other provinces to improve their ninjas abilities.

The shuriken is a small hand held weapon that was designed to act as a distraction more then a killing weapon. The literal translation is "sword in hand". They were made from everyday items such as needles, nails, knives, coins, and a variety of flat plates of metal with sharpened edges. It was an inexpensive weapon to make, that would be easily hidden, and yet could be a tactical advantage in a fight or even a battle.

The shuriken was not just a ninja's weapon, but was part of the minor martial arts training for many martial arts schools back in fuedal Japan. It was a supplemental weapon to the Nihonto family of weapons, i.e. the katana sword, spear, etc.. Its exact origins are still unknown, but research is still going on. However, there is documentation showing that the shuriken and the art form of throwing it was around in the 1600's and was part of the general training. This particular school was called shurikenjutsu.

A common type of shuriken that was used was the Bo-shuriken. It was a straight piece of rod usually four-sided but sometimes round and had a single-pointed end. Their length varied from 5" to 8 1/2" in length and weighed between 1.2oz and 5.5 oz.. The Bo-shuriken was a very popular due to the many different ways it could be thrown. Overhead, underhand, sideways, and rearward, but in each case the release is about the same with the blade slidingout of the hand through the fingers to give it a smooth controlled flight.

There is a wide variety of forms of hira-shuriken and they are now usually identified by the number of points the blades possess. As with bo-shuriken, the various shapes of hira-shuriken were usually representative of a particular school or region that preferred the use of such shapes, and it is therefore possible to identify the school by the type of blade used. Hira-shuriken are constructed from thin, flat plates of metal and had a different number of points ranging from 3 points up to and including 8 points. These are sometimes called "ninja stars" or throwing stars as ninja are consistently seen throwing this which looks like a star. They often have a hole in the center and possess a fairly thin blade sharpened only at the tip. The holes provided a means of being able to secure the stars by tying them together and it affected their aerodynamics, of course the holes were originally in them because they were made from old coins, washers, and nail-removing tools.

                                                                            The Sai
The Sai is a 3-pronged weapon used in close combat like a knife. Though the design my very from nation to nation it still maintains a central long spike with 2 shorter spikes on either side which helped to protect the hands of the individual wielding it. Now some show that the 2 shorter pronges may have 1 facing the same direction as the central spike and 1 facing down towards the handle, or that both short spikes face the same direction as the longer central spike.

Now like many of the other weapons that the ninjas would employ, this was also a tool that was used by the peasants in everyday operations. Its exact use can not be certain, some believe it was used for digging holes for rice, or measuring the stalks of plants. Others believe that this was used to lock cart wheels so the cart would not roll away. Either way in the hands of a trained martial artist this was a deadly weapon.

The side prongs allowed the wielder to block or catch the blade of a long sword and with a twist of the wrist it may have been possible to crack or break the sword blade. Though the central spike was not sharp as a sword blade would be its long tapered design would allow it to be punched into an enemy causing death or severe injury. On the back side of the Sai was a ball or knuckle which allowed for a solid blunt force that was able to break or crack bones in your enemy giving you a chance to escape or disarm and kill your enemy.

So, given the commonplace of this agricultural tool/weapon a trained ninja would be able to carry it around and not raise suspicion from gaurds and soldiers. This allowed ninjas to travel the countryside well armed and also able to protect themselves or kill their enemies at anytime.

There is no exact time in history when the "ninja" came to be. It was a military organization that came to be out of neccesity and family training. They tend to be misunderstood and their abilities are legendary to the point of being superhuman and even mystical. But in truth, Ninjas were actually peasants highly trained in martial arts, unlike the Samurai who were typically born into their rank.

Real Ninjas are able to do some of the things they due because of their intense training and their mastery of their environment as well as their mind and body. But, Ninjas are not superhuman, they are not some mystical being. They are human. In most cases the ninja was trained by his clan. After his training was complete (this took many years) he or she would go out into the world (Japanese society) and begin to earn money by selling themselves to the wealthy or politically powerful. Their missions usually involved spying, but was not limited to that. They were also master assassins and sabatoers. Now the money that they earned would go back to their clan to help support their families and continue the training of future ninjas.

The Samurai class did not particularily like them and even feared the ninja because the ninja did not fight by the same code as the samurai. Where the samurai lived and died by the code of "Bushido" the ninja would do whatever it took to win or succeed at their mission. Ninjas did not try and fight in "fair fights" they were out to survive and escape using any means necessary.

Here are some of the basic weapons used by Real Ninjas in fuedal Japan:

The Knife

The knife is a great weapon for close hand to hand combat. They train intensely to be able to kill quickly and quietly. The knife was also a great weapon because of its ability to remain concelled and hidden until it was needed.

The Staff

The staff was one of mans first weapons ever used. Originally made of wood, and polished to a smooth surface it was a common sight to see people carrying it, helping with walking, herding, or any other domestic uses. In the hands of a trained person the staff can also be a dangerous and deadly weapon often overlooked by guards.

The Spear and Naginata

The art of sojutsu is a very extensive training in ninpo. It is a weapon similar to a staff except with a pointed end, or sharpened stone tied to the end, or even a metal blade on the end. This particular weapon allowed the ninja to attack an enemy from a distance while remaining untouched.

The Kusari Gama

This weapon, like the staff is a weapon that has domestic uses. It is a short-handled sickle that peasants would use to harvest rice. But put a chain on it with a weighted end and it becomes a very deadly range weapon that can also kill close up.

The Ninjato

A ninjato is a sword used by the ninja that differs from the traditional katana. The ninjato is a straight bladed sword, not curved like the katana. They also tended to be a little shorter then the katana allowing a faster draw. The ninja typically focused on using the last 1/2" of the blade for cutting. And it was very common for the ninja to use just 1 hand on the sword to permit a free hand to grab the enemy, or possibly the enemys weapon to be able to inflict a killing blow.
