Short but powerful message…

Here’s a fantastic Ted Talk given by @shawnachor. It’s only 12 mins and definitely worth watching. Not only will you learn something important you’ll also get some good laughs as well.

Here are some of the key takeaways…

It’s not necessarily reality that shapes us but the lens through which your brain sees the world that shapes your reality.
90% of your long term happiness is predicted not by the external world but by the way your brain processes the world. If we change our formula for happiness and success, we can change the way that we can then affect reality.
75% of job successes are predicted by your optimism levels, your social support and your ability to see stress as a challenge instead of as a threat.
Your brain at positive performs significantly better than it does at negative, neutral, or stressed.

There Is No Reason To Do Something You Hate

Here’s a classic keynote from @garyvee which I watch frequently. It’s a great reminder and challenge to not settle for anything less than being 100% happy. Here are some of the key takeaways…

There are way too many people doing stuff they hate. Please STOP doing that!
There is no reason in ~~2008~~ 2012 to do sh*t you hate. NONE!
Gary became 1% unhappy and that is when he changed his life.
Look at yourself in the mirror and ask, “What do I want to do everyday for the rest of my life?” DO THAT! You can monetize it.
Legacy is greater than currency.
We only get to play this game one time…one life.
You need to build brand equity in yourself, but you have to do what you love…If you love it, You will win.
If you want this, if you’re miserable, or if you don’t like it, or you want to do something else and you have a passion somewhere else…work 9 to 5, spend a couple of hours with your family…7 to 2 AM is plenty of time to do damage.
How Do you get money to do what you love? - You Don’t…You position yourself to succeed. Do it after hours. Start building equity in your brand or whatever else you want to accomplish. Everybody has time. Stop watching F-ing Lost. If you want something…WORK…that’s how you get it.
