But on the day wedding preparations, to some extent Michelle was not bubbly. I’ve seen a lot of brides and they tend to act differently during the wedding due to mixed emotions and excitement. Now the challenge was how to make the same day edit wedding video look fun that best describe the bride. This was a requirement actually by her.

Beatrice and Alex Chua are Catholic Christians from Sabah Malasian Borneo. It was my first encounter of a foreign couple who wanted to get married in Manila.

The church wedding was held last 9-9-09 at San Agustin Church in Manila and the wedding reception was held last 1-29-10 at Shangri-la Hotel in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

I prepared a wedding video highlight of the Manila wedding, which was shown at the Malaysian reception as one of the evening highlights. But in the morning of January 29, I decided to incorporate the tea ceremony in the video, knowing doing an interview with the couple will make the presentation more personal and unique. So instantly we were doing a same day edit wedding video.

The video presentation indeed was a success. It was something first done in Sabah. Thanks to Beatrice and Alex who envisioned to introduce something different for their wedding and for their visitors. Had it not been their desire to present a new concept of presenting a video presentation, I would not have been able to get to Malaysia.

People were touched with the exchange of personal vows of the couple. The prayers and the messages by the officiating minister was indeed an inspiration. Who will not fall in love when the scenic ceremony by the lake turned more romantic when the place transformed from daylight to sundown to of the night?

Knowing that people are touched again when watching the same day edit wedding video at the reception pleases and makes me feel successful in the very essence of documenting such wedding event. This is more than just a good wedding video; it’s all about inspiring and touching lives.

I and my daughter Yael collaborated for another same day edit wedding video INNOVATION. Yup, she did the interviews and writing. Here is her behind the scene story.

The couples we interviewed were surprised when we asked the question ‘how did you meet’. They were like, “Pardon? Oh, us?” Nevertheless, they undeniably answered the questions with enthusiasm as they relive their own ‘kilig moments’.

The inspiration for this same day edit wedding video was the music video of 1,2,3,4 by Plain White T’s. With no intention, the onsite video turned out to be pieces of advices from the personal experiences of the interviewed couples. We also believe that we achieved the raw approach as in the music video.

And for the perfect ending, was the bride and groom’s fascinating love story, as unlikely as it is, of being neighbors for almost 23 years but meeting not once.

Uncle Gil is the younger brother of my father. Early this morning, my mother who is based in the states called, and was too excited on the updates regarding the wedding. The rest of the Gancenia family was unaware that December 28 is actually the wedding anniversary of my parents, and was supposedly also celebrating the golden anniversary if only my father is still in this world today. Uncle Gil and Auntie Rosing got married on January 28, 1960, a month after my parents’ wedding. The wedding was celebrated a month earlier because of the best availability of everybody from the 1st family.

My works for the same day edit wedding video started form choosing the right music. After two hours of researching in my music library, I stumbled upon John Denver’s For You. I got the feeling the music will be loved by my uncle. True enough, he is familiar with John Denver and love the song.

I also decided to interview my cousins to be included in the edit. The interview lasted for almost an hour recorded running time, more than enough insights I needed for the video. I got so many touching stories from their childhood like when kuya Rommel was 4 years old, and his parents gave him a bath as every parent enjoyed and appreciated their kids. Kuya Rogel also shared, he often see his parents spend time praying together inside the mosquito net at night.

Lots of inspiration too from ate Nanette as she inspired her siblings to excel, strive and succeed as poverty is not a hindrance to succeed in life. Who will not burst into tears when Kuya Rhoel admits his mistakes by disobeying his parents when he was still a teenager, added that he fully understand them now as he himself is a parent?

And finally, they all expressed their thank you’s to their parents by giving them the best gift – the 50th golden wedding anniversary celebration.

It was an overwhelming experience creating a video for your own family. A bit sad this will not happen to my parents, but given the chance to do it for my uncle gave me the feeling that I already did the same with my parents.

We prepared two videos for the wedding. First was the prenup love story wedding video and the same day edit wedding video featuring the highlights of the on-the day wedding preps and the ceremony highlights.

Prenup wedding video:

The prenup video was inspired from the movie “500 Days of Summer”. Aileen and Jay’s love story wedding video was entitled “800 Clicks” – well, the couple, as we all know spend most of thier time online. The first click was the first meeting and the 800th click was the wedding day.

Same Day Edit wedding video:

As early ay 4:30am we were already at the Crowne Plaza Hotel for the wedding preps. Only then we decided what music to be used for the same day edit wedding video. Jay’s first choice was the Araw Gabi by Robert Sena but we didn’t have the copy, so we decided to look for an alternative from his CDs. There we saw Richard Poon’s revival of “You and I”. I personally love this song. In fact, it was one of the songs sung during our own wedding, and I was surprised it has a version by Richard Poon.

Jay suggested to use 2 versions, the one with the lyrics and the minus one. It was a great idea. I used the minus one version during the interview portions to avoid distractions and viewers can concentrate on the message more than the lyrics. Though it requred more effort during the editing process, it was effective and worth the effort. For so many wedding videos I produced and so many brides I interviewed, only Aileen surprised me when she mentioned that she had this dream of walking down the aisle for so many times for a decade but she never saw who was the groom waiting for her at the end of the aisle. Until one day she dreamt that it was Jay, then after that dream, the relationship started to blossom.
