Welcome to the new design! I created this design way back in October when I last posted here and put on the back burner as other things in my life became a higher priority. Now that we are nearly 100 days away from the premiere of Big Brother 11 I thought I might as well get things rolling again.

I have many exciting new ideas that I’m going to implement this year so please return in the next couple of months and decide to choose RealityFire as your new Big Brother source.

While I was gone the site received 13,000 unapproved spam messages!  Jeesh! I had to go into the database manually to delete them all. Let that be a note to anyone else who doesn’t keep up with sites. I might have deleted some actual posts, so I am sorry if that happened.

What happened to the forums!?

There is no need for me to duplicate the success of other websites. So, I will be linking to a forum that I regularly participate in, Jokers Updates. I’ve come to know Jokerette and most of the Joker’s staff over the past year and think they deserve every damn user in the world. So go there, discuss away, then come back here for my insightful, witty, charming, and absolutely annoying commentary and news. Ok?

What has happened in the World of Big Brother since I last posted?

Ok, so I’ve had this rule forever. What the houseguests do in their private lives is their own business. I’m not a huge fan of gossip websites that stalk these average people after the show. I find it distasteful, and distracting. Sure there are rapid fanatic types who need their Chiara (Big Brother 3) updates, but seriously, enough is enough.

That being said here are a few things that former houseguests have said publically shared (paraphrasing horribly btw).

- Dan (Big Brother 10) is doing motivational speaking. He broke up with his girlfriend Monica. And there have been many innocent encounters with Keesha.

- Keesha (Big Brother 10) has an off again/on again relationship with her boyfriend. Not sure exactly what that is about. Also, her and Renny have had a falling out. Keesha solicited her fans to voter her as Hooters girl of the year.

-Renny (Big Brother 10 ) has tried to sell everything in her closet and her neighbor’s closet on ebay.

- Jerry (Big Brother 10 ) has throat cancer and is getting treatment. I pray for a speedy recovery for him!

- Steven (Big Brother 10) has visited Kuwait, and plans on visiting Iraq very soon.

- Memphis (Big Brother 10) traded his car in for money. If you didn’t hear the story basically CBS didn’t own the car, so they settled on a cash prize instead. He is still giving out signatures to people I guess.

- April and Bryan “Ollie” (Big Brother 10) are still a couple. They both live in Arizona.

Speaking of couples..

- Jen and Nick (Big Brother are still together too.

Big Brother Australia:

The update for the next season is Big Brother is this: There isn’t going to be one this year. As you know Ten ended the current adaptation of Big Brother. At the time the hosts and everyone involved said that Big Brother would eventually be back, just not for a couple of years. This may turn out to be true. The latest rumor is that there might be a Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack series that would debut in 2010.

Big Brother UK:

Jane Goody passed away due to cancer.  She was a contestant on three Big Brother series, two set in the UK and one in India. Her death was publicized on international news.

Every year there are rumors of Big Brother UK’s demise – and that holds true this year as well. Everyone involved is saying that this year will be the last, but that is yet to be seen. I’m still holding out hope that they will convert to a US format which would be more successful in the UK.

As for rumors for Big Brother 11… expect the unexpected and same mix of casting from Big Brother 10.

I was just informed that there was a bomb scare inside the UK Big Brother house. According to numerous live feed watchers the Housemates were ushered out of the house while the police conducted a search on the Big Brother compound. In the post 9/11, Madrid, and London Bombing world every bomb threat is taken seriously. This bomb threat however would be chalked up as a hoax.

E4 Released this statement:

In the early hours of Sunday morning (Day 31 into 32), all of the housemates were dramatically removed from the Big Brother House. However, it wasn’t ‘cos Big Bro got tired of their constant chat about nominations; rather more seriously, it was due to a bomb scare. Cripes!

The E4 live feed temporarily went off-air as all fifteen contestants were removed for their own safety. However, it turned-out to be a false alarm and the group were returned to the House once the grounds had been checked-out.

Despite fans’ speculation that there was some kind-of twist or another big bust-up, Channel 4 have confirmed that they evacuated the House as a safety precaution due to a fake bomb scare.

“After the necessary checks were made, housemates returned to the house without incident and the streaming was resumed immediately, ” said a C4 spokesperson.

Hertfordshire Police have issued this statement, “We were informed of a bomb threat to the Big Brother House in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, the 6th of July 200. Officers attended the property just after 1.15am and a thorough search was conducted by the security team”.

“The owners of the property chose to evacuate the premises while it took place, but the search revealed the call to be a hoax.”

A similar thing occurred during Big Brother 4 in 2003, when a bomb scare saw the housemates evacuated on what would have been Gos’s eviction night. The chef subsequently got evicted a couple days later, but exited the House without the usual crowd to greet him.

The UK News Magazine, The Daily Star, is reporting that future housemates on Big Brother 9 will be paid only £1! That’s about two United States Dollars. The article doesn’t state whether if that’s a one time payment or if it’s an hourly wage. Even if it were an hourly wage they would only earn around £2000, which is far less than what the housemates in the United States get paid.

Daily Star also received leaked documents and contracts that the housemates have to sign before going into the house. Apparently, nothing is out of the ordinary except for this one point: “New rules also outlaw discussions about members of the production team – or Big Brother.” This was one of the changes the United States version made after we changed to our current format.

The “Big Brother” part leads me to believe that they won’t be allowed to talk about discussions they had with Big Brother in the Diary Room. In the United States the Diary Room is a place where the show’s producers craft the overall storyline. They use the housemates own thoughts about what is going on to narrate the shows instead of relying on a paid narrator.

(Editors Note: You may have been wondering why I haven’t posted in the last couple of days. We had a family emergency which needed my full attention. I was also working on a new website. This is the first blog post upon my return!)

Speculation for the past couple months has been that the UK Version of Big Brother would be receiving a complete makeover. Rumors are that many aspects of the American Version would be infused into the UK Big Brother. Now, that speculation seems to be based in some sort of reality. InsideBigBrother.net was able to get a few quotes from Big Brother UK executive producer Phil Edgar-Jones about the upcoming season.

Speaking recently, Edgar-Jones highlighted that gameplay will be a vital part of the show this year: “We haven’t set this programme up as a massive social experiment- it is a GAME SHOW.”

This comes just a few days after it was revealed housemates in the upcoming series will have to face a brutal “war and order” theme in the famous house. A spokeswoman earlier said: “Big Brother knows that power corrupts. And this year’s gameplaying will undoubtedly shatter the housemates’ hopes of an easy summer.”

E4 showed the American format this year, they say because of a lack of other US imports due to the writers’ strike. This was, reportedly though, done to accustom British viewers to a gameplay style prominent in the US version, which BBUK producers are looking very closely at. A source revealed that this year’s Big Brother could copy a twist from the US version forcing contestants to appoint a weekly head of house: “The weaker links might be made leaders, while others may see their control vanish. Expect sparks to fly!”

In addition to the show’s possible format changes, Edgar-Jones revealed that the housemates will always be the most important aspect of the show: “We try to create a good mix of people, casting a few outlandish housemates and reflecting a regional mix of the whole country.” Edgar-Jones who “auditions everybody and ultimately makes the selection of who goes into the house” hinted at who might be going in next month: “Maybe there will be a couple of interesting Irish people in there.”

According to InsideBigBrother.net the logo was designed by Daniel Eatock. The logo was one of three final designs choosen within “the eleventh hour.” Eatock has previously designed all the Big Brother UK Logos from Big Brother 2 onward.

Just noticed this… The Big Brother UK logo flashes in the Big Brother Australia opening credits.

Correction on BBLB Hosts

Early in the week it was reported on many websites that Big Brother’s Little Brother, a companion show of Big Brother in the UK, would be hosted by Caroline Flack. Those reports were absolutely false.  The new hosts of Big Brother’s Little Brother were officially announced yesterday and they are George Lamb and Zezi Ifore.

New “Shattered Eye” Logo and Details on the New Season

In other Big Brother UK News the new Eye Logo will be revealed in a couple of hours. The holding website for Big Brother UK has been changed to a plain greyscale logo with a countdown in the center. Rumors are that the logo is going to be red, black, and white and be shattered from the inside out. They are calling it the “Shattered Eye” logo.

Last February on my former blog, RealityBBQ, I said that official speculation was that Big Brother UK was looking to become more like it’s US counterpart. They aired the US, Big Brother 9 in hopes to gauge viewer response to the format.

Davina to stay afterall?

The net rumor has been that Big Brother UK host Davina would be leaving the series after this season. In the same Daily Star article Davina addressed that rumor by saying, “This is a silly rumour. There is no truth in it.”

According to the Daily Star the next edition of Big Brother UK will feature…. aliens. Yes Spock, Darth Vadar, and E.T. are going to be ascending from outerspace and teleport directly into the Big Brother House.

BBSPY.co.uk is skeptical about the Daily Star’s latest discovery. “Note to the Daily Star: if you’re going to make up rumours, at least make them slightly feasible…”

However, RealityFire can now confirm government officials from Alpha Centuri have indeed sent the winner of Big Brother: Centuri IV to Sol’s planet Earth. Toamlax Romahax,  the Umalat from Hantufet won 4 Billion Runts when he outlasted the competition during his season. How will the Brits react to Toamlax? The Big Brother House is going to be the “biggest ever” says the news magazine Heat.

In it’s latest issue Heat has published two different copter-angle snapshots of the Big Brother compound. They have discovered that the house itself has been expanded with a new room. Also, there seems to be an outside bathroom.

Heat says that Big Brother 9 will have less housemates compared to recent seasons. (Big Brother 8 had 24 Housemates!)

The article also speculates on the new hosts for Big Brother’s Little Brother and Big Brother’s Big Mouth.
