Ever since I saw Kate Moss sporting white nails on the cover of Vogue, I have been ever so slightly obsessed with the idea. I have always liked white nails, but you know, as soon as you seen it on Kate...on Vogue...well you want it even more. Cos that's the way it works!!

So when I popped along to see the amazing range of products that QVC will have available for Autumn/Winter 2013, I legged it straight over to Sophie from The Illustrated Nail and requsted a Mossy mani with a twist!

Selexir Peace Balm to the Rescue! Reviewed and Approved!

Rather distressingly (well in my world) I was recently scuppered by a rather unexpected bout of eczema on my face. The cheek of it! My face! I carried on as usual and pretended I hadn't noticed but, unsurprisingly, this course of non-action didn't work. Boo. It was getting itchier and more red so I did the only thing I know how... I took the problem to twitter!

I had lots of help and suggestions (thanks to everyone) and I had the extreme good fortune of having something recommended and sent to me within a day by lovely Liberty of London lass @Liberty_Sarah. And this was it. Say hello to Selexir Peace Balm!

After 2 uses of this little beauty, the eczema was 90% gone. Seriously! After another 2 applications it was completely gone! And now I never want to stop using it!

The Selexir Peace Balm texture is like a solid cream, a bit like 8 hour cream but actually not really! It is much creamier, and it kind of reminds me of something that a doctor might dish out if you needed help, but way more natural and aromatic. As you apply it to the skin, it melts in and actually feels a little watery and it feels so pure that I find myself rubbing it all over my mouth area including my lips. It feels so good, calms instantly and completely WORKS!

I absolutely categorically 100% NEVER want to be without this. In fact, even though the eczema has gone, I haven't stopped using it. Not exactly sure why. I only use a tiny bit so it is going to last me forever.

The blurb is that it contains 21 natural ingredients, is effective on light to medium eczema and leaves dry or irritated skin feeling calm, nourished and hydrated. I can vouch for that.

Selexir Peace Balm is coming with me wherever I go! You can buy it online at Liberty's for £39. If your skin needs rescuing and fast, I couldn't recommend it more!

As a body moisturiser fiend (I am completely addicted to the stuff!), this isn't an obvious product for me but I have to say I am really impressed with the new Nivea In Shower Moisturiser.

It is basically moisturiser you use whilst still in the shower (a bit like conditioning your hair) which then removes the need to moisturise once you get out. The idea is, you wash with your regular shower product as usual, then apply the Nivea In Shower Moisturiser, rinse it off and go. Once you're dry, you can skip moisturiser and go straight to the dressing stage.

It is absolutely perfect for those that can't stand the chore of moisturising all over, or if you don't have time for your lotion to sink in. I tried it today and I have to say, it really works. It was quite a wrench skipping the lotion stage for me, but skin totally feels 'business as usual'. I impressed!

It is out now and available at Boots.com here. You can choose between formulas for Normal and Dry skin and prices start at £3.56. From what I can tell it is selling like hot cakes! It is also on a 3 for 2 right now.

I went to the most beautiful launch for Penhaligon's latest fragrance this week, Iris Prima.

Penhaligon's Iris Prima Eau de Parfum Review

Its tag line is, "The Spirit of the Ballet. Bottled." Iris Prima is a unisex fragrance created for Penhaligon's by master perfumer Alberto Morillas who was granted exclusive access to Nathan Young and Lauretta Summerscales of the English National Ballet.

He worked to capture the essence of ballet in all its dimensions. Here are the notes:

Top Notes: Bergamot, Green Amber, Pink Pepper

Heart Notes: Iris Absolute, Jasmine Sambac, Hedione, Paradisone

Base Notes: Leather, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Benzoin.

Penhaligon's Iris Prima Review

The various notes echo the different facets of dance, the surroundings and the passions and emotions. I am going to share Penhaligon's description with you because I think it really brings Iris Prima to life:

"A fresh and transparent bergamot opens the dance: its citrus freshness mimicking the graceful flight of the prima ballerina as she leaps into the spotlight. Green amber softens the effect and contrasts with sparkling pink pepper, which resonates like the steps of the ballerina on pointe.

Iris soon takes centre stage, eclipsing all around her with her natural grace and powdery charm, until she begins a sensuous pas de deux with potent Jasmine Sambac. A sense of luminosity comes courtesy of two innovative molecules; Hedione and Paridisione.

It is soft and sensual and has a smooth and earthy drown which balances the uplifting and bright bergamot (my fave) that it opens with. I think I'll like it for the evening and can see it suiting men and women equally, although not all of the men I know will be encouraged by the ballet element if you know what I mean!

Thought this would be a nice little Friday post for you! When I attended the launch for Paul Smith's latest fragrance, Portrait, they did a clever thing. They got a silhouette portrait artist along to go round skilfully snipping our images into black paper in a matter of minutes. It was quite incredible!

So studded biker boots are still really on trend, probably even more so because of our ridiculous British weather, and today I received an email with these Ash Biker beauties from My Wardrobe* that are just in and also new season.

Of course, as recent luck would dictate, they are out of 39s already, and even though I probably could squeeze into a 38 (which always used to be my size), I usually end up regretting that decision. This is kind of lucky really because they are £279, which I don't think is wildly over-priced for Ash but... you know...

NEWS JUST IN!! I have found my stock in House of Fraser!! They have quite a few sizes HERE*. Is it too much to spend on MORE boots?!>

Aw I love Paul Smith so I am always up for an event where he's involved. Last week I attended the launch for the latest fragrance in the Paul Smith portfolio, Portrait.

How gorgeous is that bottle? I am pretty obsessed by the soft pink juice and the rose gold casing - it's a real little beauty.

I love a fruity floral and this is a fresh, green one with lots of soft spice and musk. Here's the low-down:

Top Notes: Bergamot, Black Tea, Cardamom, Blackcurrant, Peach

Middle Notes: Wild Rose, Jasmine

Base Notes: Myrrh, Musk

Portrait for Women "paints a powerful picture of a garden full of Wild Roses but Myrrh and Mush give it a twist, elegance and depth and the Black Tea reminds us of exotic travel".

In yesterday's blog post on the ASOS Skater skirt I like, I confessed that the skirt I was really looking for was the one that Cheryl Cole was papped wearing about a week ago. Literally everyone commented on how fabulous she looked and I have been dreaming about the skirt ever since. Sadly I didn't know who it was by.

Well if Cheryl can??!

I love a clay mask and so I was really interested to attend the launch last night of what was being hyped as a world first in skincare, Clayspray.

I have tried out the samples already and am really impressed. I spritzed my face first with the Hydrate H20:

Then the phone rang! It was ok, it only cracked a bit!

I then washed it off while I was in the shower. My skin was really glowing after, felt really smooth and hydrated and not at all tight. I think the best part is that it really did refine my pores just as it had promised! They were much less visible. Yay!!

Absolutely love the stuff and now quite desperate to try more in the range. The Brightening and the Toning ones are really calling my name!!

Last week I went along to find out all about the Goldfaden MD skincare range that has just launched in the UK in Space NK*. It is a doctor brand that is all about dealing with skin issues from a scientific high performance perspective but with natural and organic ingredients.

There are some stunning products in the range that I am really excited about, and the first one I have tried is the Goldfaden MD Doctor's Scrub.

Dr. Goldfaden's exfoliator has been around for 25 years and contains powerful ruby crystals polish away dead surface cells.

It is a granular exfoliator, so if you don't like those, then this isn't for you. It promises to leave skin bright and smooth. It is also has Hyaluronic Acid for hydration and Seaweed and Organic Red Tea Extract for nourishment and antioxidant protection.

If you like the idea of a good old scrub, with lots of extra skincare benefits, then this could be for you.

I think the key to using this is to go very gently, as vigorous movement could probably feel quite abrasive. So I just lightly massage it into damp skin and then rinse it away. My skin was super soft after and I didn't have the tight feeling I get with mechanical exfoliators. It felt plumped and hydrated.

Goldfaden MD recommend daily use to improve the appearance of fine lines and reduce pore size but I think that could potentially be a bit much, particularly for sensitive skin. As I use quite a few exfoliating products, I think I will stick to once per week. This of course means it will last longer. Yay!

I can't wait to try Sun Visor* (£40) from the Goldfaden MD range too - it is an oil-free SPF30 mist that you can apply over makeup during the day without disturbing it. That is my kind of product!!

It leaves a pretty flawless finish, covers darkness and imperfections and really brightens too. The main thing for me is that it feels and looks really hydrating and not at all cakey. It is smooth - nice and soft focus.

The promise of actual anti-ageing benefits over time is extremely appealing, although, as I change my makeup so regularly, I doubt I will be able to assess that effectively.

Oh my goodness! What a dreamy style this is. I have had quite a few chats about this Cheryl Cole Cannes hair do and I think the consensus is...WE TOTALLY LOVE IT!

Cheryl Cole's Hair at Cannes 2013 - Lisa Laudat using L'Oreal Paris

This stunning creation was the work of uber stylist, Lisa Laudat, who I had the pleasure of meeting at a L'Oreal Event last year.

Here is the official How-To from Lisa Laudat and L'Oreal on how to recreate Cheryl's Canne hair for yourself:

Prep wet hair with Elnett Heat Styling Spray Volume at roots, set in rollers and dry
Section an inch of hair from each temple and secure at the crown with an elastic
Take the remaining top section of hair and backcomb to create height and volume.
Secure by twisting the lengths and pinning over the elastic
Starting with mid-section of hair at the back of head, loosely plait and work in larger sections of hair from underneath & behind the ears until the plait reaches nape of neck
Secure with a ribbon
Take all remaining lengths and work into a demi plait before securing with another ribbon
Fix style with Elnett hairspray Normal Hold

This is definitely on my list to try!! What do you think??
