Barack Obama said the way to peace between Israel and Palestine is for Israel to move its borders back to the pre-1967 Six Day War lines. Such a dishonest stance for any person, world leader or not, is astonishing, unless you support the demise of Israel. Here is a simple, truthful and easily understood reminder of those borders – usually, and conveniently ignored by those who accuse Israel of “occupying” Palestinian territory.

The original Mandate for Palestine, agreed to unanimously by the League of Nations in 1920, designated 124,466 sq. km. for the Jewish National Homeland, to be known as Israel. Israel did not receive that territory – but legally, the territory is still theirs today.

A young man had been preaching in the presence of a venerable divine and after he was done he went to the old minister and said,

“What did you think of my sermon?”

“A very poor sermon, indeed,” he said.

“A poor sermon?” said the young man, “it took me a long time to study it.”

“Yes, no doubt of it.”

“Did you not think my explanation of the text a very good one?”

“Oh yes,” said the old preacher, “very good, indeed.”

“Well, then, why do you say it is a poor sermon? Didn’t you think the metaphors were appropriate and the arguments conclusive?”

“Yes, they were very good as far as that goes, but still it was a very poor sermon.”

“Will you tell me why you think it a poor sermon?”

“Because,” he said, “there was no Christ in it.”

“Well,” said the young man, “Christ was not in the text. We are not to be preaching Christ always—we must preach what is in the text.”

So the old man said, “Don’t you know, young Man, that from every town and every village and every little hamlet in England, wherever it may be, there is a road to London?”

“Yes,” said the young man.

“Ah,” said the old divine,“and so from every text in Scripture there is a road to the metropolis of the Scriptures that is Christ. And, my dear Brother, your business is when you get to a text, to say, ‘Now what is the road to Christ?’ and then preach a sermon running along the road towards the great metropolis—Christ. And,” he said “I have never yet found a text that had not a road to Christ in it—and if I ever do find one that has not a road to Christ in it, I will make one! I will go over hedge and ditch but I would get at my Master, for the sermon cannot do any good unless there is a savor of Christ in it.”

Righteousness, Judgment and Grace:

When a person asks, sometimes restraining anger, "Who is to say if (a certain behavior) is right or wrong - or if "right" and "wrong" even exists?"

I sometimes wonder if they mean, "Who are you to say that my view or behavior is wrong?" No one likes to be confronted with that possibility.

Often this scenario arises when the subject relates to 'hot buttons' - abortion and the nature of marriage. Even more offensive in the context of post-modernity’s general reluctance to make moral distinctions, rooted in its broader rejection of philosophical or moral absolutes, is the concept of consequence.

Yet the thought of human trafficking, child labour, or the realization that prototypes of Hitler's death camps were developed by Kaiser Wilhelm II in Africa prior to World War I1 cause sane humans to shudder and rankle. Why?

The world cannot actually live with the moral schizophrenia of a rejection of personal moral absolutes in the 'micro' and the demand for justice from governments, corporations and history in the 'macro.'

Grund comment: I was thinking here in recent history about the ‘Occupy Movement’ which is really just anarchy. They want what they consider ‘right’ yet do not themselves do what is ‘right’.

The fact is good and evil, right and wrong, remain powerfully evident in the world, both in the 'micro' and the 'macro.' -

The question then is rather ‘what is the line between good and evil, right and wrong, and who defines it?’

That line, I would suggest, exists, is defined by God's righteousness, and expressed as God’s law,

During his lifetime King witnessed the birth of Israel and the continuing struggle to build a nation. He consistently reiterated his stand on the Israeli-Arab conflict, stating

"Israel's right to exist as a state in security is uncontestable."

It was no accident that King emphasized "security" in his statements on the Middle East.

On March 25, 1968, less than two weeks before his tragic death, he spoke out with clarity and directness stating,

"peace for Israel means security, and we must stand with all our might to protect its right to exist, its territorial integrity. I see Israel as one of the great outposts of democracy in the world, and a marvelous example of what can be done, how desert land can be transformed into an oasis of brotherhood and democracy. Peace for Israel means security and that security must be a reality."

The generally accepted definition of imminence is that Jesus could come "at any moment" meaning there are NO signs to occur, NO prophecies to be fulfilled before Jesus returns for the rapture of the church. However...

Christ predicted the destruction of the Temple (Luke 21:6, Matt. 24:2, Mark 13:2.) He also predicted the coming of the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8.) Could He return before these things were fulfilled?

Is the Church MISSING after Revelation 4?

The words "church" and "churches" are absent from Rev. 4 - 22. Therefore, the church is absent from the earth during that time, right?

Well, are you aware that these same words are also absent from 2 Tim., Titus, Heb., 1 & 2 Peter, 1 & 2 John, and Jude? Is the church absent then too? Hmmm? Titus and 2 John don't even mention Christians, brother(s), brethern, or saint(s) (although they both mention the word "elect"). Does that mean those books don't even pertain to us? (Sounds silly doesn't it?)

Is it possible that the church is mentioned between Rev. 4 and 22?

Rev. 6:9-11; 20:4 tells about martyrs who are killed for their testimony of Jesus. Are they not part of the church?

Rev. 7:9-17 tells about a multitude in heaven whose robes have been washed in the blood of the Lamb (Christians?) whose shepherd will be the Lamb. These are in heaven, granted, but they have come out of the great tribulation, and are there after the sun, moon and stars go dark in the sixth seal. (See also Matt. 24:29-31, etc.)

Rev. 12:17; 13:5-7,10; 14:121 refer to the antichrist's authority over the "saints" and how those who endure will not take his mark. (Can anyone be a "saint" aside from the blood of Jesus? or are there those saved by the blood of Jesus, yet excluded from the church of Jesus Christ?)

"I Jesus have sent my angel to you with this testimony for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star."

Revelation 22:16

Jesus said that the book of the Revelation is for the church. Why would He say that when we are gone, and the "tribulation saints" aren't even a part of the church? I would be very cautious about basing any theology on what the scripture does not say.

My final question is this, are you willing to stake the safety of your family during a time of "great tribulation" on this kind of theology? Think about it.
