So excited to be shooting Justyn and Lori’s wedding! We met last month and I was really excited as they are getting married on 12.12.12! So these dates have always been a big deal but really this is the last one we can do right! When I met them for consultation and we chatted about their plans I was getting so excited as these guys are going to rock the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman with their wedding! So for their E-Session…. their only request… nothing cutesy or beachy…. just awesome, sexy, ripped jeans session. How fun is that!

Vicky and Alex – Sunset Bay Grand Cayman

I have known the Joseph family for many years, and you could say without hesitation one of the warmest loving families in the Cayman Islands. So when Vicky called to let me know she was getting married and gave me her date (preceded by Mandy and Diana on the very same day talk about excited girls!!!!) I thought I was going to “bust a gut”! I was so excited, thrilled, privileged and honoured to get to tell the story of Alex and Vicky’s wedding. The bride got ready at the gorgeous Ritz Carlton, when her parents walked in I think everyone had a bit of a cry including hair and makeup. Then off to the private residence of Sunset Bay, an amazing ocean side home with expanse gardens. When Vicky walked down the aisle under the Casaurina trees, Alex was biting his lip, poor chap, trying to keep calm, I thought his chest was going to pop! When they arrived at the end of the aisle, Mr. Joseph was to hand over his daughter, he kissed her hand elegantly! I made the mistake of looking at the bridesmaids, well needless to say they were gushing…… ohhhhh Great…. “I need to get a desk job, this has got to be aging me!” Their marriage officer was the beautiful Honourable Margaret Ramsay-Hale, BSc Econ. former Chief Magistrate of the Cayman Islands. They exchanged vows, exchanged rings had a lovely kiss… and they were off down the aisle as their guests and families threw confetti. To end the cocktail hour everyone released a wish lantern, which is so romantic! The reception was amazing with catering by Mise En Place so the food was brilliant, the cakes, DJ Craig, the dancing, the late night snack…. fish tea and jerk and finally a serenade by Jason… Ram Goat Liver! WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT!!!!

Angilynn and Robert – 31 December 2011 – Grand Cayman Beach Suites

Angilynn and Robert decided to get married on New Years Eve! Their ceremony was at a local church and then we headed off for an elegant reception on the Rooftop of the Grand Cayman Beach Suites. During their first dances fireworks were going off early all around them and it was incredible to see them from this awesome location. Before midnight, all the guests went downstairs to the beach and lit wish lanterns that scattered the evening sky minutes before all the fireworks went off. WOW! what an end to an amazing day. Angilynn also had three dresses! After the meal she changed into a gorgeous gown and danced the night away, but left time to sneak away again to change into her third dress, a sexy red Chinese traditional wedding dress! BUT that wasn’t all, Robert and Angilynn met back with me later to do a few Trash the Dress pictures….. (Angilynn did not “trash” get her dress even the slightest bit dirty) but we had so much fun. You can see from the images how much fun this couple really are! I had to say okay Robert, give me serious one then we will do the goofy one!! hahahaha. I LOVE the chicken shot, so Cayman! Guys you totally rocked!!!! xxx

The Grand Cayman Beach Suites outdid themselves this night. Surrounded by fireworks and an amazing band, great food and PERFECT atmosphere! Great Job!

Honestly this was emotional! Couples were setting off the wish lanterns and hugging as they watched them disappear!

Lauren and Scott – 2 ceremonies – BIG PARTY!!! – lots of fun!

Lauren and Scott grew up in the same town just outside of Philadelphia and attended the same high school and college but didn’t meet until they were set up by mutual friends in 2005. Their friends claimed that they were perfect for each other and they couldn’t have been more right. They both always talked about moving away together and in June 2008 they moved to Grand Cayman and have loved it ever since. Scott proposed on Seven Mile Beach and they knew it would also be the perfect setting for their wedding. A January wedding was planned in hopes that all their friends and family from Philadelphia could escape the cold and help celebrate with them on the beautiful island of Grand Cayman. As they counted down the days until their 100 out of town guests to arrive, a major blizzard hit Philadelphia dropping 15 inches of snow! This led to cancelled flights and left guests stranded in cities throughout the US. Lauren and Scott stayed positive and enjoyed the time they had with the people that did make it. Up until the ceremony started they still didn’t know if all guests had arrived. But somehow, someway everyone made it (some with just minutes to spare) which made the day even more exciting and memorable. Lauren and Scott exchanged vows on the beach at The Caribbean Club, watched a perfect sunset along side their loved ones and continued the celebration at Luca Restaurant for a night of dinner and dancing. It was a perfect way to begin their life as a married couple.
As the year anniversary approaches, Lauren and Scott will be preparing for their most precious gift of all. A beautiful baby, due in February.

…… you know how those personal vows just totally put that lump in your throat….. well in walks Martin and Maria, whose vows were beautifully written and had us all crying including the guys in the bridal party! wow! “I am trying to work here people! ”
Aaron Rebarchek (of Picturethis…) wonderfully assisted by Gary Hollins (my husband) did an incredible job of this beautiful video or should I say cinematography. Elegant, sweet, gorgeous, sexy and totally heart wrenching!
Honestly the video team Aaron heads up is putting out some incredible work and I love their style. Something now on the “Must Have List” Love it guys!!! Great job!!! This wedding was featured earlier with a link to the Style Me Pretty published link.

Feel Good Shot of The Week! I am determined to get back into regular blogging, it has been an amazing season with some great brides and grooms and decor and fun different stuff. So lets start out with getting the “feel good shot of the week” going again. Here it is … Mike and Linda! Their story is amazing!!!! I think Mike had to wait 6 years to get Linda’s fathers blessing on their marriage… but as you see from this shot…. it was well worth it. Congrats guys!

Very fortunate to have a few images featured in the Jan/Feb 2012 edition of Destination Wedding and Honeymoons. Their website is an amazing source of information pertaining to weddings. One of my favourite articles being THE 12 BEST CARIBBEAN BEACHES FOR WEDDINGS! Guess what? Grand Cayman is one of the TOP Best Caribbean Beaches for Weddings! Wow, but you knew that already right! Anyhow, awesome, awesome information and amazing facts!!!!

Wedding Secrets and Trends for 2012

Wedding Dresses that Aren’t White. Gowns in shades of pink, gray and even black were all over the runways at New York City’s Bridal Market this past fall. If you’re not ready to go that non-traditional, Preston Bailey suggests having your seamstress sew a fave colorful fabric beneath your gown, so guests can catch glimpses of it as you walk down the aisle.

Food Trucks. Sasha Souza says there is a food revolution happening at weddings these days, and renting an ice cream truck (or perhaps a local food truck selling cuisine popular in your destination) is a great addition to a reception.

Non-Conventional Floral Centerpieces. According to Bryan Rafanelli, smaller centerpieces are popular, especially bunching arrangements together in different sized containers (pictured). One of his favorite combinations is the mixture of exotic and classic: “tight bunches of pink carnations in square containers, coupled with orchids in another holder can look great.”

Being Budget-Friendly. According to Nikki Khan, “spectacular weddings are possible even on tighter budgets, and your wedding planner should be able to offer alternatives for too pricey items and services.”

Engage 2011 Cayman Islands – Day 3

Engage Day 3 was no less amazing as the other days. I could not wait to get there to see the decor of the room and all the goodies. The speakers started out that day with David Beahm , Mindy Weiss and then the Media Panel which included, Michelle Rago, Shira Savada, Rebecca Crumley, Jill Meister, Angela Desveaux and Harmony Walton.

Then to the stage the awesome Sylvia Weinstock, the famous cake designer, you have got to see her cakes… http://www.sylviaweinstock.com/index_fl4.html, honestly her stories were brilliant and including having to hire a plane to transport one of her cakes. Can you imagine. She also said when she meets with a client she always asks, “What is your budget?” and normally the client (the bride) will say, “oh we don’t really have a budget!” so sylvia says…. “oh good, then the cake is going to be $100,000.00″. She says she normally has the REAL figure within 10 seconds. During her ‘insights’, Randy Fenoli couldn’t resist but to deliver her a martini in the middle of her session! Ceci Johnson, Marley Majcher and Ed Libby were also brilliant in their discussions and stories of success.

The coffee break was unbelievable! The Ritz staff put together an amazing spread of delicious deserts, I don’t think anyone took just 1! Even the straws matched the decor.

Sean Low had a great discussion… he said “selling pretty is not enough”. Had a lot of people thinking and is such a great speaker.

That was it for the afternoon and everyone went back to their rooms to relax and get ready for the evening Gala! I arrived early to take some shots of the setup! Everything was amazing from the linen to the food to the flowers and the lighting and the DJ was incredible. Ms Annie was there with the Celebrations crew, putting the finishing touches on!

Okay we are ready to let the party in!

The evening opened with a same day edit from Elysium Productions. As you can see the room stood still! Wow!

Engage 2011 – Cayman Islands Day 2

Day 2 of Engage 2011 Grand Cayman starts off bright and early with Rebecca Grinnals. It was a OOTBE! you have to read below to be on the inside….., Todd Fiscus below cracking up!

250 people pack out the Grand Ballroom of the Ritz Carlton! Everyone is busy taking notes or tweeting.

Coffee Break!

Next was Marcy Blum who is just hilarious! Then Andy and Bryan Marcus, a father and son photography team. That followed with Carly Rooney, editor in chief of the Knot. Then to Todd Fiscus, owner and designer of todd. designs.

Bryan Rafanelli, Celebrity Event Designer, Founder & CEO, Rafanelli Events was a great speaker and motivated everyone in the room! Told everyone to go with their GUT!

I love what Jasmine Star says….. “Brides choose Photographers, not photographs”.

Jasmine Star is a photographer who spoke about true life experiences! So within 10 minutes we were all crying! What a great story and amazing passion and desire to succeed at something she wanted to do!
