How To Upgrade Blackberry OS to OS 6

Blackberry has launched the new operating system version 6. But not all devices can be upgraded. Recently I upgrade my BlackBerry operating system to version 6. I use a Blackberry 9700 T-Mobile. If you want to try to upgrade the BlackBerry operating system you can follow the tutorial below, but do with your own risk.

Follow these steps:

Backup data from your blackberry using the Device Manager (DM). You can install the DM from the CD included in the box when you first bought blackberry or you can download it.
Download and install BBSAK software. You can download it here.
Download and install Blackberry OS 6. You can download it here (select your service provider and choose your blacberry's type, e.g. Blackberry Bold (TM) 9700 smartphone).
Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader, and delete vendor.xml.
Open BBSAK and click Wipe Device.
Wait until reboot and 507 error screen appear (No OS at your blackberry).
Still at BBSAK, click Load OS. Choose your OS 6.
A new window will appear, choose next and select your application's pack to installed. Next until your blackberry reboot.
Your installation has been complete. Now, open Device Manager and restore your backup files.
Finish. Enjoy your new OS. Here's my blackberry's screen:

How To Downgrade Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla has been released the new version mozilla firefox browser. There are several changes that I think it more like Google Chrome browser. After I installed it, I think mozilla firefox take many memory resource that make my computer slow down. After use it for several days, I choose to downgrade my mozilla.

How to downgrade mozilla firefox to the previous one?

Just visit this ftp site. Choose what mozilla's version that you want to install (e.g 3.5). Select win32 and choose your languange. If you want to install the mozilla with English America, choose en-US. Download the mozilla firefox by clicking "Firefox Setup 3.5.exe".

Done. I hope this tips is useful for you that has problem with the new version mozilla firefox.

This software can capture your blackberry screen. Install it here. You can capture your blackberry screen with 2 ways:

1. Press blackberry menu and choose "Capture It".

2. Select and press "Capture It" icon.

If you can't install it online you can install it offline by download this file (CaptureIt.zip). Extract the file and copy "CaptureIt" folder to your blackberry (with data cable). Open the jad file ("captureit.jad"), and install the software. You can create blackberry tutorial by using this software.

Form Contacts Sent to Email Through Blogger

If you have a website or blog, you should have menu to keep contact to your visitors. Some of it is chatbox or form contact. At chat box, the message is general because all the message sent also read by all the visitors. Diffrent with form contact, the message from the visitor, sent to the blogger / website owner.

You can add chat box menu to your blog from other website that provide it, such as chatbox and shoutmix. For form contact, you can add it from this site.

Follow this steps:

Register to emailmeform.
Verify your register by clicking the link from email that you received.
Login, choose "Template" and choose "Customize".

Click "Add Field" to add the other field.

Save your settings and going back to "template" menu.
Click "Code" to get the codes and choose the second menu "HTML with Javascript/CSS".
Copy that codes. Now, return to your blog. Choose "Posting" menu, select "Edit Pages" and create "New Page". Give it a name (I named it "Contact Me") and paste the code at "Edit HTML" mode.
Create a link to your page (at my case the page's address is http://ivanjaya.blogspot.com/p/contact-me.html). It shown below:

Typing Strikethrough Text on Blackberry

Continued from the last post (Cleaning Your Blackberry Memory), I'll share an application to typing text strikethrough on the Blackberry. This application made by programmer from Indonesia (iBNuX).

Here is the steps:

Download and install the application here through your blackberry.
New menu will now appear on the blackberry menu named "Add ~~Coret~~ text"

Select "Add ~~Coret~~ text" menu and type your words that want to strikethrough

After that press Blackberry menu and select "Paste"

And your text has been strikethrough.

At my previous post, I write about blackberry tips "Deleted Files Are Still Appear On The Blackberry", and now I want to share a simple tips about blackberry. Some people have a problem with their blackberry. Sometimes and even often, their blackberry become slower and hangs.

If you have the same problem you can try this tips:

Go to the "options" :

Select "Security Options" :

Select "Advanced Security Options" :
And then select "Memory Cleaning" :
At the status choose "Disabled", and then press your BB menu and select "Clean Now" :

PickPick a Free Software to Capture Screen

If you want to make a tutorial, you usually include an image to clarify the text. If the tutorials related to computers such as blog tutorial, usually require a screenshot of the screen.You probably know how to capture screens in the windows operating system. By pressing the Print Screen key, you can capture the whole screen. Or you can capture the active window by pressing Shift + Print Screen. But it would be difficult to capture an important part of the screen.

There is a free software that can capture the screen as a whole or specific parts of the screen. The software also has a special button that makes it easy for its users. The name of this software is PickPick.

Deleted Files Are Still Appear On The Blackberry

It's been a long time not update this blog, and now I want to refresh my blog with a new post. I will begin by writing a short post and hopefully useful. This tutorial is for Blackberry user.

I used Blackberry for several month and one dayI got a problem. I've deleted some files of music and video but the file name still appears in the music and video player. If the name of the file is opened it will open another file or not open at all.

If you have the same problem, try the following steps:

Connect your blackberry to the PC.
Open windows explorer. Go to the storage drive (e.g. drive F:)
Delete files BBthumbs.dat. This file is located in a folder of music or video. If this file is not visible, on the menu select Tools> Folder Options> View. In the advanced settings, select Show hidden files and folders. OK.

How to Backup blogger content? You'll think if that anyway to do that. Not only blogger template that you can backup but you can backup your content too. Backup content is very important. Some website or blog somehow and sometime get a damage risk. Not only from the black hat hacker, virus or server maintenance can cause the damage but the damage risk can caused by the user mistaken. Beside reduce the damage risk, you can also backup your blog content to be a collection. Maybe your blog has many tutorials that needed by people around.

Open it.
