book-share

so if we had online "book-cycle" where everyone could "trade" a book with another person--preferablly with-in the same geographic territory so no shipping was involved--we'd increase reading, save on printing and shipping!!!!!!

Folks would sign-up and list every book they are willing to "cycle". And their location. Perhaps "meet-ups" could be at local library once a week where the exchange is made.

Click here to comment on or edit this solution at CreativeCitizen.com

Triathlon: reduce your plastic consumption

When you go compete in or attend any multi-sport event, the amount of empty plastic water bottles strewn across the race site can be overwhelming. As a self-sufficient participant, you can impact the demand for bottles in the following year and reduce the amount of plastic waste at events.

Purchase a water filtration system (approximately $100).

Before you leave for a race, fill up a five-gallon jug.

Click here to comment on or edit this solution at CreativeCitizen.com

Alternatives to Fireworks

We're just starting to understand how potentially harmful and dangerous fireworks can really be. The fallout from their fuel and combustible agents has been proven to damage both the environment and the human lung- we're still not sure how severely.

With a green-friendly solution in mind, here's a short list of some basic alternatives to fireworks... you should be able to find everything you need around the house.

-Replace sparklers with glow sticks

-Throw confetti instead of lighting fireworks

-Create a Mentos/Coke volcano

-Create a bonfire and invite your friends

-Fill a jar with fire flies, nature's fireworks

Click here to comment on or edit this solution at CreativeCitizen.com

Use fire lanterns instead of fireworks

<img src = 'http://www.creativecitizen.com//attachments/0000/0891/fire.jpg' max-width = '400px' align = 'left';>
Thai fire sky lanterns make an excellent alternative to fireworks, which can have potentially harmful effects to the environment and human beings. Instead of harsh chemicals, fire lanterns use non-toxic fuel (a simple flame) and can create a spectacular effect when released in large numbers.

Just be sure to check with local authorities whether or not releasing fire lanterns is legal in your neck of the woods. They have been known to cause fires, so err on the side of caution.

Click here to comment on or edit this solution at CreativeCitizen.com

green buzz word

<img src = 'http://www.creativecitizen.com//attachments/0000/0889/54977417greencrystal.jpg' max-width = '400px' align = 'left';>
If green is the buzz word of the decade, then going green is the buzz phrase of the millenium. No global movement has garnered such attention or has commanded such respect as the admiration for preserving, protecting and enhancing our world.

It is commonplace to hear news stories on a daily basis promoting the welfare of our planet. The House Of Representatives, on June 27th 2009, passed President Obama's legislation to curb greenhouse gases and create an energy efficient economy. The President says the bill would create jobs, make renewable energy profitable and decrease America's dependence on foreign oil.

Even Twitter users are turning their icons green. We have green bags to preserve our food, energy saving lightbulbs, biodegradeable cleaners. The list goes on and on.

One new company, Gofreegogreen, has launched their product line in sync with the eco-movement of the millenium. One of their superstar products is the the Metermaid Ultra Power Saver, which using state of the art technology, will monitor and correct the power factor without compensating the grid in the household. This "plug in and save" device has the capabilities of saving the consumer up to 25% on their electric bills.

There are other vendibles ranging from green products for your pets to superfoods, laundry, weight loss, organic suntan lotions, eco friendly golf balls, and products to detoxify your home.

Launched only a day before Earth Day, 2009, this eco-friendly company has gained a large following, not only for their innovative green products, but for their ability to reward their faithful followers with an unlimited source of income.

You can become a warrior for a mere $12.99 a month. With this low investment you procure your own website enabling you to market their products at a resounding 70% net profit to it's members. There is no inventory for you to purchase and most members use their homes to operate their business from. A nightly conference call at 9:00 P.M. allows the members to ask questions of new products and network with other members, or warriors as they like to be called.

With unemployment at it's highest in decades, it's a winning formula for green, stay at home moms, or just about anyone with a passion for the environment and those willing to put forth some effort to make a serious income. Some experts suggest this company may have followers in the millions in a very short amount of time. Now is the time to get on board with this shining new star, since it's inception is merely months old.

www.gofreegogreen.com/eddiespaghetti

Click here to comment on or edit this solution at CreativeCitizen.com

Kick the buckets and hoses, no car wash at home

A typical car wash lasting 10 minutes uses approximately 100 gallons of water. What if we could conserve hundreds of gallons of water in one week. Go to a local car wash that uses recycled water or use an eco-friendly waterless car wash
http://rejuvenateauto.com/car-wash-waterless.php

It takes only 15 minutes, is effective and uses no water.

Click here to comment on or edit this solution at CreativeCitizen.com
