Because Minis were British, and well-promoted, they became seen as giant-killers, and were the peoples favorite for many years. The car outpaced many of its rivals, and this book examines exactly who they were, and how they came to be defeated by the "mighty Mini."

Turbo Outlet Pipe

The R56 MINI Cooper S engine utilizes a turbocharger to pressurize the intake tract to force feed the engine air to produce power. The factory set-up uses an 'intake muffler' with reduced diameter and baffling that prevents 'smooth' airflow.

The Premium Hi-Flow Turbo Outlet Pipe eliminates the intake muffler and replaces the factory rubber hose between the turbocharger and intercooler (hot-side) with a new CNC mandrel bent pipe and silicone couplers that will not expand under boost.

Front Mount Intercooler

As a reduction in intake air temperature increases the density of the charge mixture within the combustion cylinder any temperature reductions will equate to more power. This intercooler is constructed using a combined 80/40mm high thermal efficiency core, with a 250% larger surface area and a 125% thicker base core, to achieve the best possible results.

In fact even in relatively low road speeds / air velocities our intercooler was able to better the OEM unit by nine degrees centigrade, with greater improvements being achievable during greater speeds during track testing. The replacement intercooler is supplied with all the mountings and a replacement lower grill to allow ease of installation.

Please note that this kit has been designed to fit behind the standard Cooper S front panel. If an alternative front panel has been installed, clearances may be reduced and trimming may be required.

The new TitaNM turbo heat shield is designed to redirect heat from the turbocharger down and around the engine. This reduces intake temps and protects the paint on the bonnet. Unlike other heat shields, this unit does not completely encase the turbo as it would severely hamper the turbocharger?s heat dissipation and reliability. This heat shield is commercially pure (CP grade) titanium.

Cooper and Cooper S Performance Clutch Upgrade kits for 2002-2006 R53 MINI Cooper S.

Stage 2 PLUS Bridging the gap between stage 2 and stage 3, the 2+ offers drivability and engagement quality characteristic of the stage 2, but with a 15-20% higher torque capacity. Features a multi-friction disc in a full faced configuration with carbon semi-metallic on one side and Kevlar on the other.

Spec High Clamp Load Pressure Plates are standard with all performance kits. These plates can feature clamp loads from 20%-40% higher than original equipment and have a very reasonable pedal requirement. The exclusive 360 degree pivot technology assures a perfectly even lift and disc clamp, maximized leverage, more consistent clamp load and minimized wear.

These Kits includes a high clamp pressure plate, a steel-backed clutch disk, bearings and an alignment tool.

INSTALL NOTES

Unless using a new flywheel provided by SPEC, existing unit must be resurfaced prior to installation of the clutch product to ensure integrity of friction surface. Owner must also break in the new high performance clutch for a minimum of 450 miles, primarily city and/or stop-and-go driving, before full throttle engagement, drag launching or speed shifting. * FAILURE TO EXECUTE EACH OF THE ABOVE WILL HINDER CLUTCH PERFORMANCE AND VOID ALL WARRANTY!!!

Unless otherwise instructed by written notice from SPEC, follow manufacturer?s instructions when installing clutch and flywheel products. SPEC recommends that all bolts be inspected before re-installation, and any bolts that have been removed and re-torqued multiple times replaced. SPEC will not warrant any component failure due to install error.
