The Night Out Dilemma

2015-08-11T14:08:00.001-04:00

If you are like me, you have a hard time choosing those final contestants deemed worthy enough to grace your "evening out bag". I mean, all that stuff in your regular bag? Well, it's THERE for a reason!

We ladies have made getting ready to go out for the evening into an art form. The makeup, the hair, the perfect out fit AND that veritable cherry on the Sunday - THE EVENING BAG!

A small bag is a badge of honor, A statement to the world.

-All this perfection you see? It fits in here!-

Problem is we still want to be prepared. I mean, after all, going out is

all about the adventure - the UNKNOWN. That perfect mystery man (or woman) might be out there and tonight just might be THE night. SO you need space. Just not TOO much space.

So we devised a plan....

1. See how much you can unreasonably fit into the mini bag

2. Make the painful cuts as necessary

3. In the end the only thing that matters

is if it ZIPS.

Tell me how you tackle your evening bag

dilemma!

When Melissa of THE FASHION HUNTRESS contacted me about collaborating, I got pretty excited. It's not everyday you come across a blogger as fearless about fashion as Melissa. She's not afraid to break a few rules and that's how I knew we were the perfect match.

I got these embossed patterned specality leathers from a very upscale leather wholesaler in Midtown Manhattan. It's always a crazy dream walking through the isles of gorgeous hides. I get so inspired by the endless possiblities. But I came home with these beauties. They are limited edition because the leather was discontinued. So, they are very rare indeed!

I'm so excited to introduce my newest bag. I have Un-offically dubbed it "The Momma Bag" because it seems to be the big momma of the other 2 sizes that have been so successful in my line over the past 2 years.

Here's some of my favorite features.

* Fully Lined inside featuring one internal zipper pocket so your keys phone and lipstick won't get lost.
* Has handcrafted tassel zipper pull
* Features a hefty gold tone chain strap that can be worn singly or doubled
* Roomy and soft - this bag's construction allows bag to comfortably form to the body when worn.
* Beautiful printed cotton lining interior

Morning Reading: Gettin' My Mojo On

2014-11-07T10:28:00.003-05:00

I've always prided myself on being a bit of an musicophile. As of late, though there has been so many distractions in my life. Bringing my handbag and accessories line to fruition that I've neglected one of my long time passions. So I decided to reignite the flam and I ordered this book off Amazon. It's all I hoped it would be. It gives details and fun back story information on some of the most influential albums of all time. Some truly fascinating and some just "laugh out loud" funny trivia. The only holes I see so far is that it's missing a few people. Elliot smith's XO isn't in this edition even though it covers the dates up until 2003, not to mention Modest Mouse's "The Moon and Antarctica" or Built to Spills "Keep it Like a Secret". But overall, I'd say I'm hooked.

The Budapest Keys

2014-07-01T22:03:00.000-04:00

Wes Anderson and I must be sympatico because his use of crossed keys had me jumping in my seat with joy!

I designed this bag about 3 years ago.

Besides the great coincidence of symbols with-in the movie. It was typical quality cinema from one of my favorite directors of all time. This time the tone was a bit darker than his previous films which quite alright with me. I highly recomend it for any Wes Anderson fan.

Women Who Rock: A Style Insparation

2014-04-22T14:24:00.003-04:00

Lykke Li is one cool chick.

I love her style and her music. Her style is dark and mysterious but still a bit playful and sexy.

Elle Sweden just did a photo shoot with the songstress.

Below is one of the photos from the spread.

Here are a few amazing things I've found that really feel like something that Lykke Li would wear!

Tribe for the Masses and SXSW

2014-03-04T09:06:00.002-05:00

Sooo,

a few weeks ago I was contacted by one of the owners of Tribe for the Masses a independent fashion boutique specializing in up and coming fashion and accessories designers. I was even MORE intrigued that the company is based in Austin, TX, a city that is near and dear to my heart. I have visited there several times and it always gives me the warm fuzzies. Art, music, and a quirky style all it's own. Austin is just the best!

Here's a taste of what Tribe ordered from me. If you are visiting for SXSW or live there go check me out!!
