I received an update from Senator Sylvia Allen's campaign staff regarding her opponent. Senator ALlen is a true conservative who fights hard for her consituents. She can use some support to fight the "big money" she is competing against with Bill Konopnicki and his backers.

Senator Sylvia Allen Update: Konopnicki not a rural conservative! Campaign finance reports show:

Snowflake, July 26, 2010) - For months, Bill Konopnicki has spent tens of thousands of dollars on radio ads, billboards, and campaign mailers telling the voters of District 5 that he is a 'conservative voice for rural Arizona', however, Mr. Konopnicki's own campaign finance records give lie to that statement.

In the strongest indication yet of Mr. Konopnicki's true allegiances, campaign finance reports filed with the Secretary of State's office clearly show that Mr. Konopnicki's support is neither rural nor conservative. The filings from January to June, 2010 indicate that:

* Mr. Konopnicki did not receive a single donation from District 5.100% of the 80+ individual campaign contributions listed on Mr. Konopnicki's report were from Maricopa or Pima County, or out-of-state.

* The vast majority (60+) of Mr. Konopnicki's donations came from Maricopa County lobbyists and attorneys.

* Many of the donations came from democrat activists, including former Governor Napolitano's legislative director Michael Haener, former democratic lawmaker Art Hamilton, and democrat activist George Diaz.

"This is the clearest sign to date that Mr. Konopnicki's allegiances do not lie with the residents of rural Arizona," said Ken Gibson of Snowflake. "There is obviously an enormous disconnect between who Mr. Konopnicki is,and who he says he is. When the vast majority of your campaign contributions come from Phoenix and Tucson democratic lobbyists, you are clearly not conservative and clearly not representing rural Arizona.

Terry Wheeler of Globe agreed. "Bill Konopnicki is a liberal lawmaker whose support comes from liberal lobbyists and democrat activists. The voters of District 5 now know who has been representing them for the last eight years,and it's not a conservative."

In contrast, Senator Sylvia Allen's campaign finance reports clearly show her rural roots and conservative values. Nearly all of her donations come from individual donors within District 5, and none come from democrat activists.

"I am a proud conservative from rural Arizona," declared Allen. "Bill Konopnicki can outspend me all he wants, but the voters should know that he's doing it with Maricopa County, liberal sources, not District 5."

Allen supporter, Marca Epps of Heber, encouraged District 5 voters to"consider the source" when they see a Bill Konopnicki campaign billboard or hear a Konopnicki campaign commercial. "Voters should remember that every Konopnicki advertisement, mailer, or billboard is paid for by Maricopa County, not District 5 interests."

The voters of District 5 have had eight years of Bill Konopnicki and the result has been bigger budgets, higher spending, and higher taxes. It'stime to send Bill home.

Check out this hardworking guy from Congressional District 1 in Arizona. His name is Bradley Beauchamp. He's worth watching...the guy really knows his stuff when it comes to the Constitution and our rights as citizens in this country.

Here's his background:
Bradley Beauchamp is a graduate of Northern Arizona University and a former government and civics teacher in Globe, Arizona. After several years in the classroom, he pursued his desire to study the Constitution in more depth by earning his J.D. at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. He returned to Globe after graduation to practice law in the First Congressional District of Arizona.

We all know that campaigns are expensive, so help the guy out if you feel so inclined. He's got a great chance of winning the seat and I'm happy to support him because of his strong stances on limited government, secure borders, states rights and energy independence.

Elected officials like this guy are the reason the American people are fed up with our representatives. What a pompous ASS! How dare he mock the people who gave him his job!! These people have legitimate concerns and complaints and all he can do is attack them and call them names. And he says the borders are secure? I wonder if the family of our now dead rancher friend in Southern Arizona would agree that the borders are secure?

The Congressman's name is Pete Stark and I hope his constituents see this and vote him out of his tax-payer subsidized paycheck.

Decorated Navy SEAL and Best-Selling Author of Lone Survivor is coming to Memphis!

This July 4th, come "Party Like Patriots" and hear Marcus as he gives the keynote
address at our annual Fourth of July Celebration.

Petty Officer First Class (Ret) Marcus Luttrell, and three teammates from SEAL Team 10

were assigned to a reconnaissance mission, operation Redwing, in the Hindu-Kush mountain region of Afghanistan.

Operation Redwing's mission was to gather intelligence on a Taliban leader with ties to Osama bin Laden. When the team encountered several goat herders, the SEALs questioned them and, after a debate about the rules of engagement, let them go. Shortly after a large Taliban force ambushed the four-man team on a remote ridge, Luttrell and his teammates valiantly fought for hours, displaying characteristic SEAL determination and bravery, refusing to retreat from the fight despite being heavily outnumbered. Hours later, after Luttrell had watched all three friends die and had literally been blown off the mountain by an RPG, a rescue helicopter carrying 16 special operation forces was shot down, killing all on board. (it is the single largest loss of life in a day in SEALs history.)

His face shredded, nose broken, rotator cuff torn, three vertebrae cracked, his body riddled with shrapnel and unable to stand, Luttrell began to crawl through the mountains in search of shelter. Help arrived by way of the Afghan villagers of Sabray. They took Luttrell in, cleaned up his wounds and, honoring their tribe's custom, protected him from the Taliban at the risk of their own lives. As the Taliban circled the village and the threats intensified, the village elder sought help from the nearest Marine outpost. Five nights after the nightmare began, Luttrell was rescued.

In his emotionally raw account, Lone Survivor, Luttrell honors the memories of all those who died, sharing with us the incredible bravery, courage and honor of these extraordinary warriors. He holds their lives up as examples of this guiding philosophy of the SEALs:

"I will never quit. I persevere and thrive on adversity. My Nation expects me to be physically harder and mentally stronger than my enemies. If knocked down, I will get back up, every time. I will draw on every remaining ounce of strength to protect my teammates and accomplish our mission. I am never out of the fight."

At the podium, Luttrell takes us from the rigors of SEAL training and what it takes to join the America's elite fighting force, to the battle on the mountain, into his family's experience of community support and generosity, and back to his own incredible story of survival and grace. In powerful narrative, he weaves a rich account of courage and sacrifice, honor and patriotism, community and destiny that audiences will find both wrenching and life-affirming.

At A Glance: Marcus Luttrell joined the U.S. Navy in March 1999 and became a combat-trained SEAL in January 2002. After serving in Iraq for two years, he was deployed to Afghanistan in the spring of 2005. As a SEAL, Luttrell was trained in weapons, demolition, and unarmed combat. He also served as Platoon medic.

After recuperating, he redeployed to Iraq for a second tour. In the spring of 2007, Petty Officer 1st Class Luttrell retired.

He was awarded the Navy Cross for combat heroism in 2006 by President George W. Bush.

Seriously?! We Actually Pay This Guy?!?

U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson, a Congressman from Georgia, makes a salary of $174,000 a year which is paid by U.S. taxpayers. You would think that someone earning that kind of money would spend part of it on an education to ensure that the people who elected him never find out that they are just as stupid as he is for not recognizing that the guy has the intelligence quotient of a gnat. And people wonder why our country is in trouble?! Seriously, people! (I'm talking to YOU, citizens of Georgia!) It's time to wake up and start taking a vested interest in the people you choose to represent you in Washington! We cannot elect people based on their style or their speeches! Take the time to really get to know your candidates. Read about them. Study them. Ask them really tough questions and think about their answers. PLEASE!!!!!! Do your freaking homework before you go out and cast a vote and put another idiot like this guy in office!

They Sold Our Birthright

We're back! Sorry it's been so long, life happens and we've been overwhelmed by it. But the latest move by Congress has awoken us and we are fighting mad. So here we go!

Like Esau of Old Testament fame, the Democrats in the House sold what was left of our birthright tonight when they passed the healthcare bill. Esau sold his for a mess of pottage. Ours was sold so that Obama would not go down in history as a failed president.

I kind of get Esau's plight. He was tired and faint from working all day and needed sustenance. He was desperate and weak and needed something to nourish his body. Yep, he acted in haste and he made a poor decision. But his decision did not adversely affect the entire population of his country. It only affected him adversely. And even then the adverse effect was only temporary, because if you continue to read the story, after Jacob gains the birthright and goes on to greater things, he returns home and seeks out Esau in order to apologize for taking something of such great value from Esau, who obviously didn't appreciate what he had at the time he sold it. Esau, having recognized that Jacob obviously knew how important it was that the birthright be taken seriously, forgave Jacob, who had worked hard to ensure that the lineage and religious heritage of he and his brother was preserved. By then, Esau had built up his own little kingdom and was doing well and had moved on. No anger, no blaming, just love. Esau realized the birthright had fallen into the hands of someone who knew how to nurture and care for and preserve it and was grateful to Jacob for recognizing its precious and sacred nature. Yay! Happy ending!! Whoo-hoo!

Unfortunately for us today, our representatives in Congress chose to sell a birthright that A) wasn't theirs to sell B) affects each and every person living in this country and C) will have long standing repercussions to the sanctity and well-being of our nation and our precious freedoms.

And even more unfortunate is the fact that there are still people in this country who think that passing this sham of a healthcare bill was the right thing to do. There are American citizens who believe that it is better to drink the Koolaid and trust the government than to think for themselves, to make decisions about their own lives and who refuse to take responsibility for their own progress and well-being. And they mistakenly think that by everyone "sharing" what they have, this "social equality" thing will bring about love and harmony throughout the world. "Yay! Healthcare for everyone! Now we are all equal!" Except we aren't. We never will be. We aren't supposed to be. That's the beauty of belonging to a free society. Nobody has to be or live like anyone else unless they choose to do so. We all get to CHOOSE.

I know...there are people who live in our country who are poor and have few choices. But even the poorest among us has more choices and freedoms than any other citizen of any other country in the world. That's what makes this country great. We have choices. Until today. Congress took our choice away and told us that we have to do what they say when it comes to taking care of oursleves. It's not the first time our government has taken away a choice. But this is one of the biggest and most dangerous hijacking of our liberties thus far. And it's repercussions will devastate our country financially.

It has been said that there would come a day when our constitution would hang by a thread. Today is that day, friends. Knowing what a precarious position we are in now as a nation and as a free citizenry, there's really only one thing to ask...

What are we going to do to take back our country?

ObamaCare Potential Tax Increase for Low-Income Families

There are a lot of questions about ObamaCare and I have heard many, many families with low incomes talk about what a great program this will be, as many of them work for employers who don't offer insurance. Here's an interesting article I received from FaxDC.com regarding the reality of a "free" or low-cost healthcare bill and how it will really impact low-income families.

None of the new distortions that the Senate health-care bill will layer onto the already-distorted tax code have received the attention they deserve, but in particular its effects on marginal tax rates could use scrutiny. Incredibly, for those with lower incomes, ObamaCare will impose a penalty as high as 34% on . . . work.

Central to Max Baucus's plan assuming the public option stays dead is an insurance "exchange," through which individuals and families could choose from a menu of standardized policies offered at heavily subsidized rates, provided that their employers do not offer coverage. The subsidies are distributed on a sliding scale based on income, and according to the Congressional Budget Office 23 million people will participate a decade from now, at a cost to taxpayers of some $461 billion.

Think about a family of four earning $42,000 in 2016, which is between 150% and 200% of the federal poverty level. CBO says a mid-level "silver" plan will cost about $14,700 in premiums, of which the family will pay $2,600;since the government would pay the other $12,100. If the family breadwinner (or breadwinners, because the subsidies are based on combined gross income) then gets a raise or works overtime and wages rise to $54,000, the subsidy drops to $9,900. That amounts to an implicit 34% tax on each additional dollar of income.

Or consider a single worker earning $20,600 and buying an individual "silver" policy with a premium at $5,000. Again according to CBO, if his income rises to $26,500, his subsidy plummets to $2,700 from $4,400 (including a cost-sharing subsidy that goes away). This is a 29% marginal tax; moving to other income levels yields
increases in the neighborhood of 20% to 23% for both individuals and families.

Jim Capretta, a fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, calculates that when combined with other policies like the Earned Income Tax Credit that also phase out, the effective marginal rate would rise to nearly 70% at twice the poverty level.

The incentives for low-wage workers are especially perverse. The exchanges give them a huge break and then take it away gradually as their income goes up. Usually such phase-outs are used to make sure "the rich" don't benefit from IRS dispensations, but here they will have a giant effect on decisions about whether and how much to work, since each additional hour worked reduces the subsidy.

As CBO noted in a July health brief, "Higher [marginal] tax rates also reduce people's incentive to raise their income in other ways, such as working harder in the hope of winning raises; accepting new positions or responsibilities with higher compensation; or investing in their future earning capacity through education, training or other means." This disincentive effect will be especially hard on workers in the middle of their careers and who may not see the same potential for upward mobility as younger workers, but who could earn more through work and effort.

These marginal rate "cliffs" are also a sneaky way for Congress to lower the "scorable" cost of the bill without appearing to do so, because diminishing these rate hikes would boost the total cost of the subsidy. For the same reason, the subsidy is only extended to certain favored people, making it deeply unfair to those not allowed into the exchanges. Families earning identical amounts of money could pay wildly different taxes: a family earning $42,000 and getting insurance through an employer wouldn't receive close to $12,100 from the current tax exclusion for employer-sponsored coverage while some families earning more money than others will pay significantly lower taxes.

This is an equity catastrophe waiting to happen and senior Democrats know it. They're laying a political booby-trap that will transfer even more health spending to government after ObamaCare passes.

A far better and cleaner alternative would be to extend the same tax exclusions to individuals that employees receive if they get coverage from their employers. The current bias for one type of insurance has persisted for decades despite its unfairness and irrationality. But ObamaCare will keep all that, while in the process creating many new problems. In Good Hands with Allstate? Not so much...

You've seen the commercials. We all know that Allstate claims to be one of the most caring, consumer friendly companies out there when it comes to protecting property and loved ones. Need proof? Here's one of Allstate's "warm fuzzy" commercials:

Well...it sounds good on commercials, but you wanna know how Allstate really treats their clients?

A family member of mine has been fighting Allstate for about 5 years now, after being involved in an automobile accident that left her with back problems, including nerve damage. Now, sometimes having to fight with the insurer of the person who hit you is expected. Insurance fraud has made it harder for all of us, so jumping through a few hoops is kind of the norm now when it comes to these situations. The irony here? Allstate is also my family member's insurer. The person who hit her had a $500,000 Allstate umbrella policy covering the business truck he was driving. My family member was current on her policy premiums. The guy driving the truck was found to be at fault and issued a citation for the accident. In theory, the fact that both clients had the same insurance company should have made the case much easier to resolve, right? In my mind, this should have been a pretty cut and dry case.

Not so. For five long years now, the person injured in the accident has been questioned, ignored, accused and dragged through an insanely long investigation into her request for payment of her medical bills. Allstate, despite all the evidence, continues to look for ways to deny payment to one of ITS OWN CLIENTS!

To make matters worse, this family still retains Allstate as their insurance company because they are afraid if they cancel their policy that Allstate will completely dismiss the case and they will lose their ability to seek payment for the medical bills she has incurred due to this accident. Yes...you are reading this correctly! ALLSTATE still has their business! Allstate is willing to take this family's money, but not willing to work on the family's behalf (as is the insurance company's JOB when one of it's clients is involved in an accident) to help her deal with injuries sustained in the accident. Why? Because of the fact that the person who caused the accident is also a client, which means Allstate will lose money if it actually does its job.

Why am I blogging this? Because Allstate claims to be "the Good Hands People." Their advertisiments show example after example of how they protect the interests of their clients. In fact, their own website touts how "Allstate Insurance Company is taking a stand on behalf of its customers in our national advertising campaign. The "Our Stand" campaign takes a strong stand for consumers - interests by delivering a simple, straightforward message that highlights the many benefits of having insurance protection from Allstate." Apparently getting legitimate medical bills paid isn't one of the many benefits of having insurance protection from Allstate. And apparently Allstate considers it a benefit to drag you through the courts for 5 long years if you do seek payment for injuries sustained in an accident caused by one of their other drivers.

Good Hands? Really? In the meantime, this family has been financially, physically and emotionally devastated by the battle. A battle started by their own insurance company. To whom they have been giving money for years now just in case an accident ever did take place.

Way to take a stand, Allstate. Here's a question? How much money have you spent trying to avoid paying for medical bills that were sustained as a result of an accident caused by a driver that YOU cover? It seems to me that everybody's time and energy could have put to better use and in the end, after years of court cases and paying lawyers, wouldn't it have been cheaper to just pay the damn medical bills? This kind of corporate greed and stupidity is why capitalism gets a bad name.

So yeah...While Allstate may be very good at making commercials touting their awesome coverage? Their follow-up when it comes to paying out on their policies is not so good. The "Good Hands" people aren't looking "good" at all (or honest or kind or decent or even intelligent) from this family's perspective.

Allstate seems to be very adept at avoiding responsibility though, so maybe they should get a job at the White House. They'd fit right in.

City of Bartlett, TN to consider outlawing guns in local parks.

The Bartlett Alderman will soon be voting on an ordinance which would ban the possession of firearms in local parks, even by those who carry Right-to-Carry permits. If passed, this resolution would strip gun owners of their right to carry a firearm for self-defense in all Bartlett parks.

There is a hearing scheduled for Tuesday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. in Bartlett City Hall, located at 6400 Stage Rd. If you live in the Memphis area, please try to attend.

Even if you do not live in Tennessee, you can still help preserve 2nd rights.
Please contact Mayor Keith McDonald at 901-385-6444 and the City Alderman at 901-385-6444 and voice your opposition to this ordinance that would eliminate the right to self-defense in local parks.

'Grateful Nation' Debuts October 3rd

Remember a few months back when we talked about the incredible people we met at the NRA convention? Remember how I went on and on about what an impact the two military guys had on my son and my family in general?

Those two guys (Army Ranger Tim Abell and SFC Greg Stube) will be on ESPN2 tomorrow, October 3rd, on a new series called 'Grateful Nation.'

'Grateful Nation' is an outdoor adventure series that features wounded combat veterans as they take to the fields to reacquaint themselves with the American hunting tradition that many of them grew up with. During the hunts, these wounded warriors open up and talk about the love of country that compels them to serve and sacrifice, the wounds they received while in battle and the support system at home that sustains them.

Is it improper for me to give Beretta and ATK a giant "HOOAH" for their support of these fine warriors?

Airborne Ranger Tim Abell (who also happens to be an accomplished actor) hosts the series and SFC Greg Stube (one of the most inspiring speakers I have ever heard) will be the first veteran featured on the show when it debuts. I urge those of you who want to learn more about the incredible people who serve in our military to watch the series. After hearing their stories you will surely come away from the show with a deep and abiding appreciation of our servicemen and women, as well as the families who support them.

How do I know? Because it happened to me. I met with Greg and Tim, two of our country's finest for what...maybe two hours at the NRA Convention in May? My life is different because I met them. They inspired us and supported us in our efforts to start a non-profit. They inspired my little boy by being real life examples of true heroes and encouraged him to pursue his goal to serve in the military. They inspired my family to be less selfish and more giving and to take the time to actively show our gratitude for the country we live in and for those who fight to protect it. How? By being themselves. By sharing their wisdom and knowledge. By offering sincere thanks for our support.

Wait, what?!? Yeah...THEY actually thanked US!! How freaking humbling is that!?! "Ummm, hey no problem. Supporting you is the least we could do for you after you...ummm...what was that you did for us? Oh yeah! You put your life on the line and received life-threatening injuries while fighting bad guys. So yeah...I think we can show up at an event to shake your hand in return for you ALMOST LOSING YOUR LIFE and stuff!" Like I said...really humble, thoughtful and gracious people, like most of the miltary folks I know. And just being around them made me want to be a better person. I owe them that, ya know?

So let's recap...two dedicated American Army guys give two hours of their time to talk to a blogger and her kids, which leads to our family being more focused on gratitude, service and patriotism. Now imagine how many families can be affected by watching the entire series where lots of veterans will be sharing their inspiring stories?!

Take the time to corral your group into the family room this weekend and check out the show...I dare you to walk away unmoved or unaffected. And when you're done processing all of your emotions? (That's code for crying.) Get off your butt and go do something to support the troops in your area. Michigan Tells Mom She Can't Watch Neighbors Kids for Free

Michigan must be really hard up for money. So much so that they are telling a neighborhood mother that she can't watch neighborhood kids of working parents for free while the kids wait for the school bus in the morning. Basically, the state says she has to be licensed as a daycare to help her neighbors out. So now the State of Michigan can dictate how and when you are allowed to help your neighbors? And which nosy neighborhood resident is so angry and vindictive that they would turn her in for offering a service to her friends? Who does that?!!

This is a really sad day for Michigan. The state leaders ought to be ashamed of themselves for even pursuing this and the resident who turned this lady in needs to get a life. Part of what makes any good community work is that residents work together for the common good of everyone living there. This neighborhood is being told that they cannot help one another or work together to meet the needs of those around them unless the state says it's okay! Does anyone else see something inherently wrong with this? I know I won't ever put Michigan on my list of places to go!

Senate Finance Committee Denies Internet Access to Entire Healthcare Bill

Not surprising that the Senate Finance Committee once again takes the lead in passing measures that are harmful to the American public.

Yesterday they voted to keep the final version of the healthcare bill from being posted on the internet for the public to read. Their logic? They don't want to delay the bill another 2 weeks by having to take the time to post it on the internet. Seriously, folks? You mean the health and well-being of the American public - the people who gave you your jobs and pay your salary - isn't worth taking a few extra weeks to makw sure what is being puched at us is in our best interest? Seriously?

And apparently, the American public is also lazy and stupid. “Let’s be honest about it, most people don’t read the legislative language,” Sen. John Kerry said. Ummm, yeah John, we do read the legislative language. Especially when it comes to a bill that could have serious repercussions for our families, our economy and our country. We do read. We pore over those bills and look at all the details so we know what you guys are getting us into. So quit trying to play God, quit telling us you know what's best, QUIT CALLING US STUPID AND TREATING US LIKE CHILDREN! We are intelligent people who know what works and doesn't work for ourselves and YOUR JOB is to DO THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE! We want to read every single bill that goes through Congress and the Senate, in its entirety! Why? Because you guys can't be trusted to do the right thing anymore and we have to hold you accountable. The only way to do that is to know exactly what it is you politicians are trying to sneak past us in every bill that passes your desks.

This is absolutely NOT the administration of transparency, is is the exact opposite and defeating this amendment to post the complete healthcare bill online for 72 hours before the vote only proves that more.

The Democrats on the committee, with the exception of Blanche Lincoln, all voted against posting the bill in its entirety for the public to review. None of the Republicans voted against it. I only included the phone numbers of those who voted to defeat the amendment. Obama Denies Military Flyover at Celebration for Troops in Idaho

I was just made aware of this, which originally aired in July of this year.

Obama denied a military flyover at the annual "God and Country" rally in Idaho, where new military recruits were inducted and all military were honored. This is the first time in 42 years that there has not been a military flyover in formation, and organizers were stunned that Obama refused to allow this. When the lady organizing the event contacted the Pentagon to ask why this was not allowed, as it had occurred every year for 42 years, she was told it was because of the event's "Christian nature."

How sad is this that we can't even honor our military at a 42 year old event anymore because the name of the event had the word God in it!!?!?! Here's the Commander-in-Chief in action folks.

In Memory of 9-11

8 years ago today I was awakened to a ringing telephone with my mother-in-law on the other end screaming at me to hurry up and turn on the television. I was sleeping a little late because I was 6 1/2 months pregnant and exhausted and feeling ill. I had also just received news the day prior that the contract I had in place and was in the process of negotiating for renewal would be terminated at the end of the month. Apparently there were issues at Arthur Andersen that needed to be dealt with and my services would no longer be needed. (We would find out a few weeks later about the whole Enron/Arthur Andersen scandal.) So I had gone to bed the night before feeling sick due to the preganacy with my 2nd child and the loss of my only source of income.

But when I turned on the TV that morning after hanging up the phone with my MIL still screaming, my problems seemed trivial and insignificant. The first plane had just hit the tower and I was trying to absorb it all in my sleepy stupor. As I tried to piece together the events being reported, the unthinkable happened and a second plane crashed into the towers! It was sickening and sad and I could not comprehend what I was seeing! Of course the rest of the story began to unfold and news of the pentagon being attacked came forward, along with stories about the plane with the brave passengers forced down in a field in Pennsylvania.

I worked from home that day, taking care of errands that could be done over the phone and via the internet, so I could stay tuned to what was happening. And truthfully? I didn't want to be away from my young child or my husband that day. So we all stayed together and watched, trying to understand the madness. Such a horrific event, so many lost lives, so much tragedy. I remember it all like it was yesterday. I remember finally having to turn the TV off that night as I was overcome with sadness and grief. The pregnancy hormones made me even more emotional than usual and I sobbed for what seemed like an hour as the images played over and over again in my head. People emerging from the demolished towers covered in so much concrete dust that they barely looked human...rescue workers sitting on the curbs overcome with exhaustion and grief, others looking for family members who were still missing, showing their pictures in hopes that someone could help locate them...

As the days progressed, more news came out about the attack and the country came together to aid those who were suffering due to this nightmare of an event. And that is when the TRUE nature of America came to light. Heroes were found in every facet of life that fateful day and in the days that followed and story after story began to emerge about everyday people who went above and beyond to help their fellow citizens.

I hope that we never, ever forget what happened 8 years ago today. But more importantly, I hope we can get back to the way our country behaved in the immediate aftermath. We loved more deeply, we were much more charitable and forgiving, we found ways to serve others without reward and we truly supported one another without agendas or guile. And...we loved our country. We took pride in America and her citizens.

As we go forward my hope is that as we think about the loss, we will focus on being better human beings and better citizens and caretakers of the greatest country on earth. Those who lost their lives on 9/11/2001 deserve nothing less from us.

Rep Joe Wilson Calls Pres. Obama a Liar, Nancy Pelosi Upset

If you managed to sit through President Obama's incredibly lengthy, yet empty speech last night, you may have heard this:

That was Rep. Joe Wilson shouting out "YOU LIE!" at President Obama as the President denied that the healthcare reform bill would provide healthcare to illegal aliens.

Watch Nancy Pelosi's face when Rep. Wilson shouts. Priceless. How can she be so hurt and offended by a Congressman calling the President a liar? Didn't she recently call the CIA and others liars regarding her knowledge of certain issues related to the war in Iraq? Another example of the Liberal double standard in action.

And what about when Harry Reid called Bush a "loser" and a "liar" a few years ago? Need a reminder?

I'm not condoning tit for tat tactics, just pointing out that Dems have made similar "mistakes" on many occasions. So when Joe Biden stands up today to call Joe Wilson on the carpet? I hope people see the irony in the pot calling the kettle black. I'm just sayin.

Media Manipulation to Meet an Agenda

Still don't think the mainstream media manipulates the truth to meet their agenda? The media is partially responsible for the divide in this country! They take information and twist it to create a storyline that sells the news THEY want to sell, regardless of whether or not it is true.

Here is a perfect example of why we should NEVER trust the media… this is a clip from MSNBC about people open carrying pistols and rifles to the town hall meeting protests.

Pay special attention to what the man in the clip is wearing. Note his pants, his shirt, and belt. If you're into guns, pay close attention the black mag (looks like an HK), eotech sight, and hand guard on his AR-15. Also, pay close attention to what the commentators say afterwards. Make special note about how this incident shows the racial overtones of the protests. As the first commentator says, "There are these hate groups rising up, and this is definitely part of that."

Now watch the unedited version of the clip from the local news, and get ready for a shock.

Same shirt? CHECK! Same pants? CHECK! Same belt? CHECK! Same AR? CHECK! Yup, that's the same guy all right, that's even the same footage. The only difference is that the second one comes without MSNBC's creative edits and manipulations. They had a purpose in mind, cut the footage to reflect that agenda regardless of what the facts may be, and sold it to the American people under the heading of news. It’s irresponsible, misleading journalism at the least, and downright dangerous race baiting at its worst.

Truth or Fiction: Obama's Plotting to Change Senate Rules to Ram Through Plan‏?!

This is urgent information that needs to be verified!! We are passing on this information in hopes that someone might confirm it for us. We received an email from the American League of Voters regarding an upcoming attempt to change Senate voting rules. Here's a portion of the content of the email:

Dear Supporter: In our last message, we warned that Obama was on the run, desperate to get his radical health plan rammed through Congress.

But Obama's falling poll numbers, and the fact that outlets such as Fox News and Newsmax are fully informing Americans about the dangers of the plan, have hurt him and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's efforts for their healthcare fiasco.

They are desperate. Obama out-and-out lied this week when he claimed that the AARP, the nation's largest seniors organization, backed his healthcare plan. The organization does not support it.

Nancy Pelosi has even compared citizens protesting against the health plan with Nazis. These futile attempts of Obama and Pelosi to twist reality prove that our efforts are working!

This weekend, we will begin our national TV ad campaign. We are rolling out our powerful new TV ad — devised by Dick Morris, our chief strategist. Dick's ad exposes how Obama's plan will lead to healthcare rationing if he succeeds in adding 50 million people to the government system...

Having said that, Dick Morris is not one who throws around information like this lightly. It's one thing to say the healthcare plan is not a good plan. It's a whole other thing to accuse the president of trying to manipulate Senate rules. We feel pretty strongly that he must have some kind of information that would lead him to make this kind of statement.

If it's true, this completely undermines the rule of law and the Constitution and the system of checks and balances that have put into place for a REASON! The rules keep the president from becoming a dicatator! If it is true, it's really, really scary and people need to know about it immediately!

So please pass on any info you might have to help disprove or substantiate this claim so we can get the truth out to the people. And no, we won't report anyone to the disinformation czar...that's not how we roll.

In the sixth month of his presidency, Obama has turned an economic downturn into an economic disaster, taking over and trashing entire companies, and driving the nation deep into deficit spending expected to pass 10 trillion dollars.

Abroad, Obama seems to have no other mode except to continue on with his endless campaign, confusing speechmaking with diplomacy. It is natural enough that Obama, who built his entire campaign on high profile public speeches reported on by an adoring press, understands how to do nothing else but that.

Ego driven photo op appearances and clueless treatment of foreign dignitaries

While the press is still chewing over Obama's Cairo speech, this celebrity style coverage ignores the fact that Obama's endless world tour is not actually accomplishing anything. Instead his combination of ego driven photo op appearances and clueless treatment of foreign dignitaries have alienated many of America 's traditional allies. Those who aren't being quietly angry at Obama, like Brown, Merkel or Netanyahu, instead think of him as as absurdly lightweight, as Sarkozy, King Abdullah or Putin do.

While his officials carry out their dirty economic deeds, Obama responds to any and every crisis as if it were a Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland musical, with a cry of, "Let's put on a show." Thus far Obama has put on "shows" across America , Europe and t he Middle East. And what the adoring media coverage neglects to cover, is that Obama's shows have solved absolutely nothing. They have served only as high profile entertainment.

Neither alienating America 's traditional allies, through a combination of arrogant bullying and ignorance, nor appeasing America 's enemies, has yielded any actual results. Nor does it seem likely to. Islamic terrorism is not going anywhere, neither are the nuclear threats from North Korea and Iran While Obama keeps smiling, the global situation keeps growing more grim.

At home, if Obama was elected as depression era entertainment, the charm of his smiles and his constant appearances on magazine covers appear to be wearing thin on the American public. Despite the shrill attacks on Rush Limbaugh or the Republican Enemy of the Weak-- the Democratic party of 2009, is polling a lot like the Republican party of 2008. The Democrats have suddenly become the incumbents, and the only accomplishment they can point to is lavish deficit spending, often on behalf of the very same corporations and causes they once postured against.

The European Union Parliament's swing to the right cannot be credited to Obama, though doubtlessly some European voters seeing socialist economic crisis management on display in the world's richest country decided they wanted none of it, but it is part of a general turning against federalism. And Obama's entire program is dependent on heavily entrenching federalism at the expense of individual and state's rights. Yet that is precisely his achilles heel with independent voters who are polling against more taxes and expanded government. And no amount of speeches by Obama can wish away his 18 czars or the national debt he has foisted on generation after generation of the American people.

That leaves Obama with a choice between socialism and the independent voter. And thus far he has chosen socialism.

Obama's tactic of hijacking Bush Administration era policies on the economy and the War on Terror, and exploiting them as trojan horses to promote his own agenda, have left him coping with a backlash from his own party, as well as general Republican opposition.

His Czars are meant to function as the bones in an executive infrastructure accountable to no one, but a lack of accountability isn't just another word for tyranny, but for incompetence. A functional chain of command is accountable at multiple levels if it is to function effectively. Obama's White House by contrast is in a state of over-organized chaos, the sort of organized disorganization that undisciplined egotistical leftists naturally create for themselves, complete with multiple overlapping levels of authority and no one in charge but the man at the top, who's too busy doing other things to actu ally be in charge.

Dennis Blair as National Intelligence, who collaborated with the Muslim genocide of Christians in East Timor, trying to muscle out the CIA to create his own intelligence network, is typical of the kind of chaos being spawned by every chief in an expanding government bureaucracy working to make sure that all the Indians answer to him. Similarly the National Security Council wrestling with the State Department, highlighted by Samantha Power getting her own specially created NSC position to butt heads with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, illustrates the state of conflict and chaos in American foreign affairs. A state of chaos so pervasive that incompetence has now become commonplace, and no one can even be found to double check the spelling of a Russian word that is meant to be the theme of American's diplomatic reconstruction with Russia , or to pick out a gift for the visiting British Prime Minister.

The death of Chrysler at the hands of Fiat and the UAW

Meanwhile on the economy, Obama exploited the ongoing bailouts, transforming them from bailouts into takeovers meant to shift the balance of power in what had been a democracy and socially engineer not only corporations, but the lives of ordinary Americans. But the public's patience with corporate bailouts is at an end, most Americans were never happy with them to begin with, a nd want them to end. The death of Chrysler at the hands of Fiat and the UAW might look like a victory in the union ranks, but it doesn't play too well outside Detroit. And tacking on CAFE standards that will kill the pickup truck and the SUV will badly erode Obama in the swing states, if exploited properly in 2010 and 2012. Despite the constant media barrage, orchestrated out of the White House, the public is growing disenchanted with the performance of Obama and the Democrats.

With unemployment booming and the economy dropping, the jobs aren't there and the spending is out of control. Republicans today are polling better on ethics and the economy, than the Democrats are. That shows a trend which is likely to register in the mid-term elections in 2010, in the same way that the EU parliamentary elections served as a shock to the system.

In the opposition, Republicans are free to embrace the rhetoric of change, to champion reform and push libertarian ideas about the size and scope of government. In turn all Obama has is his celebrity fueled media spectacle world tour. A charade now serving as a parallel to the depression era entertainment that functioned as escapism in a dour time. But before long, it may be Obama that the American public will want to escape from.

Obama has tried to play Lincoln, Reagan, JFK and FDR-- but in the end he can only play himself, a shallow, manipulative and egotistical amateur who is in over his head, and trying to drag the country down with him. Obama's White House is falling down and while the flashbulbs are still glittering and the parties are going on in D.C. and around the world, Obama and the Democratic Congress may be headed for a recession of their own.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee passed the Health Care Bill with a 31-28 vote, largely along party lines. They then adjourned to go home for a few weeks.
