<itunes:summary>Redeemer is a group of people knit together around Jesus. We gather regularly to worship God and learn how to nurture and live on mission with each other. We’re not experts. Just people on a journey trying to figure out what it means to love God and others. We don’t get it right very often but we believe in the forgiveness Jesus gives from the Cross and know He will keep teaching us as long as we keep listening. <itunes:author>Pastor Rob Berreth</itunes:author>
      <itunes:subtitle>Daniel 1.17-21</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>The church, among many things, is called to be in but not of the world. In but not of. It is a simple phrase but a massively difficult task. The constant temptation to either assimilate into our culture, or completely withdraw, is extreme and our success often times very questionable. The call to be in but not of the world is a call to exile. It is an expression of the identity of the church, the people of God, as exilic. We are longing for another homeland. We desire a better city. We look forward to a different Kingdom and the reign of Jesus our King. These desires were also shared by many of the Old Testament prophets, and perhaps none more than Daniel. he was carried off into literal exile, threatened with persecution and wooed by pleasure to bow a knee to the gods of his captor's kingdom. But he never bowed. He never compromised. He lived and exilic life. But what we learn from Daniel is not primarily to be like Daniel but to have faith in Daniel's God, our God. We believe, that the same God that preserved Daniel in his exile will preserve us as well. We look to the book of Daniel to see not just how to live an exilic life, but more importantly, to see and to worship the one true perfect exile, Jesus Christ, who leaps from the pages of the book of Daniel and by His mercy and grace strengthens us and gives us hope for our exile.

      <itunes:subtitle>Malachi 3.13-4.6</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>How do you know what or who you worship? This is a big question and one that we don't want to answer too quickly. Malachi is a book that will help us answer that question by challenging us to look at what we worship by looking at how we live. It is one thing to say you love Jesus, it is another thing to have your life look like you do. Malachi is going to challenge what we worship, who we love, and how we live by calling us out for what we bring to God as an offering, what we do with our relationships, how we respond to His teaching in holiness, what we do with our money, and ultimately whether we honor and fear God or seek simply to appease Him. While Malachi is a book filled with rebuke through our study we will also see it is a book grounded in the love of God for His people, most graciously seen in how it points to Jesus Christ, the perfect worshiper and the spotless offering.

Gospelology is a series devoted to working this quote out and applying it by studying Paul's incredible letter to the Galatians. Our understanding of the Gospel and the implications in every area of life are of utmost important. There are few things we could devote our time to studying and learning as the Gospel and as we find out in Galatians Paul felt the same way. The great hope that we have in this series is to not learn the Gospel and move on, but be continually and profoundly amazed by the Gospel and move in deeper. The chief goal as we study Galatians is that God would be glorified as we retell and apply the story of how Jesus took the punishment for sinners, bearing God's wrath for our disobedience, and that we would then rest in the unmerited favor God gives by His grace. To God be the glory forever and ever, Amen.

The chief goal as we study Galatians is that God would be glorified as we retell and apply the story of how Jesus took the punishment for sinners, bearing God's wrath for our disobedience, and that we would then rest in the unmerited favor God gives by His grace. To God be the glory forever and ever, Amen.

God’s Word is food to our souls and nourishment to our lives. We can’t live without it. God’s Word is sharp as a sword and in the Great Physicians hand is like a scalpel cutting out the cancer of indwelling sin and bringing healing to those who tremble before Him and His Word. God’s Word will not pass away. This short series is inspired because the Word is inspired by God. We are taking four weeks to learn how to inhale the Word, tremble before the Word, dwell in the Word, and exhale the Word to a suffocating World. May we become men and women who delight in the law of the Lord, who meditate on it day and night, because in the Word we see God and His Glory.</itunes:summary>

This is the natural process of God remaking His people again and gain for His Glory. When they stumble He lifts them. When they rebel He rebukes them. When they respond He redeems them. This was true for the remnant people of God in the days of Zechariah and it is true today. God is reigning over His people and restoring and remaking them for His possession and His Kingdom. The study of Zechariah is particularly important for the church as it looks towards being built for the glory of God by the grace of Christ. <itunes:summary>Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in his ways! You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the LORD. The LORD bless you from Zion! May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life! 6May you see your children’s children! Peace be upon Israel!</itunes:summary>

      <itunes:subtitle>Zechariah 4.1-6</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.
Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth.
Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>The people of God are always reforming. There is a constant pattern of reshaping, refining, and reconstructing in the life of the Church and her people. <itunes:summary>The world is waiting for a savior. We see it all around us. We want economic salvation. We want environmental salvation. We want personal salvation. So we just keep waiting and hoping that the next great leader or discovery or bail-out will finally save us. And yet while the world waits those who trust in Jesus worship. They worship the Savior of the world who has come not to fix our mortgages but to give us an inheritance that will never perish. Not to improve the world but to recreate it perfectly. And as the only one who can provide salvation through the forgiveness of sins. This advent season we are celebrating the arrival of Christ and the hope that He will come again in a three part series based on Isaiah 9. May God in His grace help us see the only one who is truly worth waiting for this Christmas season.</itunes:summary>

We look to the book of Daniel to see not just how to live an exilic life, but more importantly, to see and to worship the one true perfect exile, Jesus Christ, who leaps from the pages of the book of Daniel and by His mercy and grace strengthens us and gives us hope for our exile.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Perhaps the biggest challenge facing the church is wrong thoughts about Jesus. This seems to be as true today as it has been for two-thousand years. Along with wrong thinking about Christ comes another formidable challenge to the church, which is not living Christ. Christology and Christopraxy; who Christ is and how we live in light of who Christ is. This is what Paul was dealing with in the letter to the Colossians and it is what the church has dealt with in every community, culture and time since the Cross. Colossians offers us some of the most worshipful, Christ-exalting passages in all of Scripture and challenges us and encourages us to not be lead into myth, or to be deceived into a life that is anything other than centered around the supremacy and full-sufficiency of Jesus. May God tear down the idols of our disbelief and reorient us to the truth of who Jesus really is and who we are called to be in Christ.</itunes:summary>

And yet we seem to place so much emphasis on everything but prayer. As a North American church we seem so much more interested in leading, and creating, and building, than we do praying. This series is meant to encourage and challenge us to “pray without ceasing” and in some sense ask the very same request that the disciples did 2,000 years ago: “Lord, teach us to pray</itunes:summary>
