Charity donations from Redemption '09

We are delighted to announce that, following Redemption '09, we have been able to donate £2000 to each of the convention's charities, Asthma UK and The Woodland Trust. This is a great result, and beats 2007's total of £3400. We would like to thank you all for your continued support for Redemption.

Redemption '11 will be held over the weekend of 25-27 February 2011, and we will be back in the Britannia Hotel, Coventry. Sign up now, and take advantage of the lower rates for early booking!

We're just a few days away from Redemption '09, and the final preparations are being made!

The programme book has gone to press, but if there are any last-minute changes, they'll be posted on the programme page, and announced via the mailing list and the con newsletter

Advance registration for Redemption '09 is now closed, and we are passing all the booking information to the hotel. But if you want to come, you can still join on the door!

PR3 now available

PR3, the last progress report before the con itself, is now available on the web site. Paper versions were printed and sent out by post in the second half of January. Make sure to read it for up-to-date information and practical details about the con - including checking your booking, and information on how to get to the hotel!

Rob Shearman to appear at Redemption '09

We are pleased to announce that Rob Shearman will be joining us at Redemption '09.

Rob is probably best known to Redemption members for his Hugo-nominated Doctor Who episode, Dalek, and for his Big Finish audio plays, several of which were voted as Best Audio Drama by the readers of Doctor Who Magazine. He's also an accomplished playwright for both theatre and radio. More about our guests of honour....

If you've already signed up for Redemption, can you please check/update your booking details:

If you're driving to Redemption, can you please let us know, so that we can arrange the free/discounted parking?
If you want to come to the Thursday evening meal, and/or have any special dietary requirements, can you please let us know in advance?
If you have a preference for a smoking/non-smoking hotel room, you can tell us via your booking.

All of these are in the second, 'hotel' section of the online booking form. For information on updating your booking, see the member services page.

We're working to finalise the programme of discussion panels and workshops for the con, and we'll be putting up more information just as soon as we can. In the meantime, we're posting new and updated information about the con itself and how you can get involved.

We are sorry to announce that Carrie Dobro will not be able to attend Redemption '09, because of a work commitment that will make it impossible for her to leave the US for several months. We wish her well with it. In the meantime, we are exploring options for a replacement guest, and we will let you know as soon as we have confirmation.

Kev Sutherland to appear at Redemption '09

Kev Sutherland, writer, comedian and artist, whose work has appeared in Marvel comics, 2000AD, and Doctor Who Magazine, among others, will be joining us at Redemption for the Saturday night and Sunday. Kev is also well known for his performances as the Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre, with sketches such as Torchwool and Primarkeval.

(If you didn't receive a message, contact us at membership@conventions.org.uk.) Those are the details that we'll use to send out PR2; if they're wrong, either use the link in the e-mail message to correct them, or e-mail us as above.
