While
in the midst of her Fall tour, singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile will officially
release her third studio effort, Give Up the Ghost.

Following
2007's The Story, Give Up is set to release on Oct. 6, the same
night Carlile performs at Glenside, Pa.'s Keswick Theatre. The new record will
feature a few guest appearances, including Chad
Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls and Benmont
Tench of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

News updates from Chickenfoot:

The
band is playing a free show in Cleveland at the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame on
August 15th and they have been able to secure a number of tickets
for both Fanclub members and non members. You can either win them if you are a
Fanclub member and an Ohio resident, or you can win them through a contest, check
out the specifics here.

There are a few tour updates as well:

Two
new dates were added: Denver, CO on September 11th at the Fillmore and San Antonoio,
TX on September 20th at Sunset Station

The
August 5th Chickenfoot date in Pittsburgh, PA at Riverplex Amphitheater has
been cancelled due to logistical reasons. The band is sorry to miss the chance
to play for their Pennsylvania fans and hope they can reschedule in the near
future. Fans can return tickets to Tickemaster for a full refund.

The
August 4th show at The Sound Academy in Toronto, ONT has been moved to August
5th. Tickets originally purchased for August 4th will be honored; no action is
required by fans. Customers who wish a refund may obtain one by dealing
directly with the same outlet they purchased the tickets through.

Chickenfoot's
first leg of the Summer 2009 North American tour goes on sale this week, with
presales beginning today for the people who joined their fanclub. You can find
the tourdates and presale information here.

The video will be up until 6/29. Chad's sporting an unusual hair cut and he is
wearing an interesting Tshirt!

Their
self titled album was released on June 5th and is available from
several different record stores. Check out the Chickenfoot website for more information.

Interesting
detail: the First Editions of the Chickenfoot CD & LP packages have been
printed with a non-toxic Thermochromic ink. The ink reacts to heat and changes
it's appearance above and below 84?F /29?C. For example; If the package is at a
general room temperature (around 73?F) and is touched by a warm body part
(above 84?F) the ink will appear transparent at the point of contact. Once the
surface of the ink returns to a cooler temperature (below 84?F) it will return
to its original opaque black color.

CHICKENFOOT
NORTH AMERICAN "ROAD TEST" SHOWS

Chickenfoot will take
the stage for a limited number of live shows, featuring music from their
self-titled debut album, Chickenfoot, set for a June 9th release.

Playing a series of
intimate venues, this initial tour is set to launch on May 14th at the El
Corazon in Seattle, WA. The shows will conclude at TLA in Philadelphia, PA on
May 29th, with tickets prices throughout averaging 50 USD per show. The new
album will be released through major retailers and digitally on June 9th and
will be available for pre-sale through Best Buy beginning April 19th at
www.bestbuy.com/chickenfoot.

"We spent a lot
of time together in the recording studio working long hours to make Chickenfoot
live up to expectations," said Satriani. "We really feel like we've
mastered it and recorded a great album but now we're especially excited to take
the show on the road and see how the fans react to it live. I think we are
really going to feed off of the fan's energy. We're really that type of
band."

Legendary Punk Rock Icon Iggy Pop to Perform as Special Guest

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (April 2, 2009) --

The fifth annual MusiCares® MAP Fund® benefit concert will honor multi-GRAMMY®-winning Red Hot Chili Peppers co-founder and lead singer Anthony Kiedis, and it will take place for the first time at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on Friday, May 8, 2009.

Kiedis will be honored with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award for his dedication and support of the MusiCares MAP Fund and for his commitment to helping other addicts with the addiction and recovery process. All proceeds will benefit the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment regardless of their financial situation.

Hosted by Greg Behrendt, comedian and author of He's Just Not That Into You, the evening will feature a special performance by Kiedis along with Red Hot Chili Peppers bandmates Flea and Chad Smith, as well as performances by Thelonious Monster vocalist and "Celebrity Rehab" participant Bob Forrest with his son Elijah Forrest, musician/producer Josh Klinghoffer, the Mars Volta, the Neville Brothers' Ivan Neville, and Iggy Pop. DJ AM will perform live during dinner. Additional artists will be announced shortly.

Joe Satriani looks relieved as he shakes my hand. "Finally -
a day I don't have to talk about Coldplay," he says. I get the drift
and make a mental note not to ask any lawsuit questions.

I'm in Mill Valley, California, at Sammy Hagar's office/studio/car lot to sit with three-fourths of Chickenfoot
(which includes, in addition to Satriani and Hagar, bassist Michael
Anthony and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith) and talk about
their eponymous debut album.

Tequila, Ferraris...this is Chickenfoot-land

Hagar has already primed me well, pouring me a tall glass of his
premium Cabo Wabo Tequila (the stuff is darned smooth) before taking me
on a 140 mph spin in his custom-made Ferrari (he owns 15 of them).
Hagar cackles like a kid in an amusement park as we race through
suburban streets. I laugh, too - out of sheer terror.

Once I regain my senses, I sit down with the band (minus Smith, who is
attending the birth of his son, Beckett Cash Smith) for one heck of a
festive discussion

CHICKENFOOT, the new rock supergroup comprised of

Hagar wasn't looking to form a new group in his post-VAN HALEN career. "I
really wasn't looking to have a real band, but when I got involved with these
guys, only a fool would say, 'No, I'm not going to do this.' The minute we
started jamming it was obvious, like, 'This is something that needs to be
heard.'"

A great band is nothing without a great rhythm section, and CHICKENFOOT has one
of the best in the two-man team of bassist Michael Anthony and drummer Chad
Smith.
