Chickenfoot's
first leg of the Summer 2009 North American tour goes on sale this week, with
presales beginning today for the people who joined their fanclub. You can find
the tourdates and presale information here.

Their
self titled album was released on June 5th and is available from

Interesting
detail: the First Editions of the Chickenfoot CD & LP packages have been
printed with a non-toxic Thermochromic ink. The ink reacts to heat and changes
it's appearance above and below 84?F /29?C. For example; If the package is at a
general room temperature (around 73?F) and is touched by a warm body part
(above 84?F) the ink will appear transparent at the point of contact. Once the
surface of the ink returns to a cooler temperature (below 84?F) it will return
to its original opaque black color.

NORTH AMERICAN "ROAD TEST" SHOWS

Chickenfoot will take
the stage for a limited number of live shows, featuring music from their
self-titled debut album, Chickenfoot, set for a June 9th release.

Playing a series of
intimate venues, this initial tour is set to launch on May 14th at the El
Corazon in Seattle, WA. The shows will conclude at TLA in Philadelphia, PA on
May 29th, with tickets prices throughout averaging 50 USD per show. The new
album will be released through major retailers and digitally on June 9th and
will be available for pre-sale through Best Buy beginning April 19th at
www.bestbuy.com/chickenfoot.

"We spent a lot
of time together in the recording studio working long hours to make Chickenfoot
live up to expectations," said Satriani. "We really feel like we've
mastered it and recorded a great album but now we're especially excited to take

Legendary Punk Rock Icon Iggy Pop to Perform as Special Guest

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (April 2, 2009) --

The fifth annual MusiCares® MAP Fund® benefit concert will honor multi-GRAMMY®-winning Red Hot Chili Peppers co-founder and lead singer Anthony Kiedis, and it will take place for the first time at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on Friday, May 8, 2009.

Kiedis will be honored with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award for his dedication and support of the MusiCares MAP Fund and for his commitment to helping other addicts with the addiction and recovery process. All proceeds will benefit the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment regardless of their financial situation.

Hosted by Greg Behrendt, comedian and author of He's Just Not That Into You, the evening will feature a special performance by Kiedis along with Red Hot Chili Peppers bandmates Flea and Chad Smith, as well as performances by Thelonious Monster vocalist and "Celebrity Rehab" participant Bob Forrest with his son Elijah Forrest, musician/producer Josh Klinghoffer, the Mars Volta, the Neville Brothers' Ivan Neville, and Iggy Pop. Joe Satriani looks relieved as he shakes my hand. "Finally -
a day I don't have to talk about Coldplay," he says. I get the drift
and make a mental note not to ask any lawsuit questions.

I'm in Mill Valley, California, at Sammy Hagar's office/studio/car lot to sit with three-fourths of Chickenfoot
(which includes, in addition to Satriani and Hagar, bassist Michael
Anthony and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith) and talk about
their eponymous debut album.

Tequila, Ferraris...this is Chickenfoot-land

Hagar has already primed me well, pouring me a tall glass of his
premium Cabo Wabo Tequila (the stuff is darned smooth) before taking me
on a 140 mph spin in his custom-made Ferrari (he owns 15 of them).
Hagar cackles like a kid in an amusement park as we race through
suburban streets. I laugh, too - out of sheer terror.

Once I regain my senses, I sit down with the band (minus Smith, who is
attending the birth of his son, Beckett Cash Smith) for one heck of a
festive discussion

Hagar wasn't looking to form a new group in his post-VAN HALEN career. "I
really wasn't looking to have a real band, but when I got involved with these
guys, only a fool would say, 'No, I'm not going to do this.' The minute we
started jamming it was obvious, like, 'This is something that needs to be
heard.'"

A great band is nothing without a great rhythm section, and CHICKENFOOT has one
of the best in the two-man team of bassist Michael Anthony and drummer Chad
Smith.

'Superband' Chickenfoot to appear at Bospop

The new American 'superband' Chickenfoot
and The Australian Pink Floyd Show are the two appealing closing acts of the 29th
edition of Bospop on Sunday July 12th in Weert, the Netherlands.

The lineup for the two day music festival on Saturday July 11th and
Sunday July 12th has nearly been completed. Today the organization
officially announced twenty names. In the near future six more artists and
bands will be added to the list. They are still looking for a well known main
act for Saturday July 11th.

Like many other festivals Bospop
struggles with the problem that many big names from the classic genre are not
touring during the Summer months. That is why it is impossible to get big acts
like Neil young and Santana, who were part of last year's Bospop Festival.

"Maybe we've been spoiled a
little the past years", says pr-man Paul Adriaen. "This edition will be a testcase for us as
well. Are people only going to come for the big names or will they choose the
coziness of Bospop."

Nonetheless visitors will be
treated to a program which offers good quality acts in the larger sense. The Sunday
lineup in particular has very exciting closing acts.

Firstly 'supergroup'
Chickenfoot. The American band consists of former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar,
former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani and Red
Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. The foursome is currently in the studio
recording Chickenfoot's debut album. At the festival in Weert they will not
only perform old Van Halen songs, but also new Led Zeppelin style songs.

Secondly, the festival's
closing act for Sunday is The Australian Pink Floyd Show (TAPFS), the
only tribute band recognized by the original Pink Floyd. They put up an
astounding show with lights and lasers. As far as the music performance goes
TAPFS is no less than the original Pink Floyd. The band recently toured in
Europe, playing at major venues which sold out almost every time. TARPFS is
expected to be Bospop's most surprising act.

Foreigner, Novastar, Guus Meeuwis, Fun Lovin Criminals, Guano Apes.

Joe Satriani recently
described Chickenfoot's music to Billboard.com as, "High-energy, kick-ass
rock'n'roll. We all bring to the table some unusual influences and then we also
share a lot of roots. And I think that's where a true color of a band comes
out, just how we react to each other. So, it's definitely rock music. We haven't
brought each other together to do a techno record."

He described the music as
"Funk, blues and experimental. The material is really slamming, and anybody who
has ever been around Chad knows that he is a very huge personality, a very
high-energy guy and his drumming in person is explosive. This band really gives
him carte blanche to go crazy. I think it's the best of what you'd expect,
that's the best way to put it. No one is acting out of character."

CD & TOUR INFO:

Chickenfoot's self-titled debut
CD will be released in either April or May. The first single might be either
"Oh, Yeah!" or "Bitten By The Wolf."

The tour will kick off in May, warming up in smaller
venues (possibly clubs) in the USA followed by a few weeks in Europe during the
summer. Then the band will return to the USA for a larger headlining tour
this fall.

The band is planning on performing the entire CD as well as songs from
each of the band members careers. So, expect to hear some classics from Van
Halen, Sammy Hagar, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and some blazin' Joe Satriani
instrumentals! It's going to be a great year for rock 'n' roll!

Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony and Chad
Smith team up for supergroup and give Classic Rock the exclusive lowdown.

The name Chickenfoot doesn't exactly conjure up visions
of a union between some of rocks mightiest musical behemoths; in fact it sounds
more like a nasty side effect of bird flu.

"It was just supposed to be a bullshit name that we'd
used for a while," former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony told Classic Rock.
"And then the rumours spread about the band, everybody used that name so we
thought, 'fuck it, let's call it Chickenfoot - it all comes down to the music
anyway."

Featuring Sammy Hagar (vocals), Joe Satriani (guitar),
Chad Smith (drums) and Anthony; this million-dollar quartet are reluctant to
call themselves a supergroup as a modest Smith explained: "We're not a
supergroup, we like hanging out together and the music is a bonus. We just
happen to be in other groups."
