REFLECTIONS

Filled with over the top expectations and a promise to fulfil, had I set out on a sunny thursday afternoon to watch the much awaited Karan Johar's Agneepath in the cultural capital of Kerala- Thrissur. After walking around the the Temple round, I finally reached Jose talkies where they were playing Agneepath and damn them to hell... there was crowd just enough to pull off a HOUSEFUL for the first day matinee, which is a big deal for any Hindi movie in Kerala! Okay, let's talk about the film now, since I haven't witnessed the original Agneepath, I won't be comparing the two (which of course is the greatest justice I would be doing to both the films). The typical story of son seeking out revenge from his father's killer is the entire story in a nutshell, but what makes it worth watching is the presentation. There is a very marketish feel to the movie, however the scenes involving Sanjay Dutt and his island Maalva have been given a very vikram-betaal kinda look. Which was very difficult for me to adjust myself with, since in one scene I would myself in a slumdog millionaire and in the very next I would find myself in Hogwarts'... the transition is very out of context and somehow didn't really blend at all.

The story starts off very pathetically and not until the scene where Sanjay Dutt hangs Vijay's father does it get interesting, after which movie picks up a sudden acceleration. Rauf Lala's character played by Rishi Kapoor has been introduced very spectacularly and Vijay uses Rauf Lala to reach the Raavan of the movie, that is, Sanjay Dutt. Sadly, except for the emotional bursts on Hrithik's face and his gorgeous looks are the only things that seem genuine, while others are above average. Om Puri's character once again is an immature one, could have been stronger. But yea, the pace of the movie makes you over see all the flaws that I mentioned and keeps you glued to the screen. It's not until that moments in the penultimate scenes of the movie where Vijay introduces himself to Sanjay Dutt's wingman as “Naam hai Vijay Chauhan... Vijay Dinanath Chauhan... poora naam...” that you realize that this is a remake of the classic. A very unique thing about the movie is the characterization and the way some of the characters were left unripe, eg. Shantaram, Rauf Lala's son Mazhar and above all Kali (Priyanka Chopra). Even Vijay Chauhan's (Hrithik) character seemed to be unripe until the interval, and it ripens astonishingly that further aggravates the disappointment. Another point is that when someone dies in the movie, no one's interested take the person to the hospital, instead they decide that the person will die and they chalk out some cheesy dialogues... and damn! I am such a terrible critic... coz I liked the movie, yet I am criticizing it!

Technically, the movie is very raw and makes it look action packed, keeping its promise but yea only problem was the transition. Cinematography is brilliant, especially the hanging sequences and fight sequences. Music by Ajay-Atul once again is raunchingly addictive. My favorite was Abhi Mujh mei Kahi, rest were nice (audience loved Chikni Chameli as expected!) The background score has been brilliant, however at times got too loud! Performance has been excellent with Om Puri and Sanjay Dutt standing out along with Hrithik Roshan. Priyanka Chopra was cute but useless, could have done without her, while Zareena Wahab is under-utilized. Karan Malhotra has directed a sluggishly angrezi style desi movie and has succeeded somewhat... not more than that...

Overall, this movie is worth watching, at least for the 40 bucks I paid here. Watch it... and you might like it... more or less than the original. But be fair and don't compare! It is a good movie, worth watching.

hey everyone...i am new to this blog..as, a friend of mine has invited me to write something in it...so here i am translating an old Bengali song...which is definitely a love song...bt the bond of love is between a father and his daughter..father who is very far away from his daughter...maybe he's dead...she misses him a lot..n sings for him in his remembrance ,in Bengal a father lovingly calls his daughter "khuku" of mamoni..even maa coz he sees his mother in his daughter,and daughter calls him baba...this song is truly very touching...so the song goes like this...

Reflections

The kinda song that you can relate with yourself while moving away from your loved one... I can feel myself singing it as I leave the city of Gurgaon next fortnight... leaving behind someone special... someone who has unanimously become part of my life... rather...has become my life itself! This song develops in the form of a mildly progressive lullaby that sounds somewhat like Backstreet boys' SIBERIA during the bridges...

Karthik once again has silkily rendered the male voice while the female voice of Shilpa Rao makes you gel with the mood created by the song. I really didn't like Amit Trivedi's music (people praised him for his previous works), but now I am forced to change my mind. At first, I thought the music was given by Pritam or Vishal Shekhar... but hello? Amit Trivedi... really? Wow! Has off!

Once again... dedicated to someone special... wish I could spell that in Bangla... :P

Aah... the song that first hit the center spot on my heart back in 2010... well indeed OMANA PENNE (Darling Girl) was the first track ... rather the only track I had heard until watching the movie... so, much before Hosanna, Mannipaaya, Anbil Avan & Aaromale had made the impact... Omana Penne used to be my favorite...and now here you are...with the hindi version of Omana Penne ... PHOOLON JAISI (Like blossoms) and how good is the song? Well considering the sorrowful fact that benny Dayal isn't singing the hindi version, but Clinton Cerejo has done a wonderful job as the replacement and in fact I guess I have loved this more than the original one. Another song that has a special FEEL to it... and yes... once again... this one's for the most special person in my life... (she knows it's her I am talking about... my Phoolo Jaisi Omana Pennu...)... And the way it begins in Hindi... explains perfectly why it suits her...

Reflections

First of all... I wasn't really expecting much of an adore from the hindi version of my all time favorite tamil song, but hey... as on many occasions before... my deduction has been negated... yet again! Hosanna... starts off the same way it does in the tamil version... “Had I two hearts..I's d let you break my second heart too” ...this time we hear a new voice altogether...in words that are somehow more catchy and reverberating than the original tamil ones. Leon D'Souza peps out a more silky voice (compared to the haziness of Vijay Prakash). And as the song progresses, you will feel younger and dancing like the deewana (that I am.. gotcha :P)... The rap by Blaaze has been given a total about turn...and sounds more like a sunday mass meets saturday night disco.... which with repeated hearing...will win over your senses...and dominate your heart...

I am all praise for this song... and well...I love this one more than the Tamil one....and this one is indeed special for me....and is dedicated to someone even more special (yeah! Yeah! You can stop making that face now... :P)...n well.. thanks to a special friend...who motivated me to get my blog up n running again...

So.. all you crazy lover boys (n girls who are waiting for their Deewanas).. time to put on those light shaded casuals.... walk through narrow alleys... in the tendering heat of the sun...Welcome 2012 with love.... It's time for Hosanna!

Reflections

The song that gets the movie kickstarted! The progressive masterpiece from the master of all masterpieces...AR Rahman! The humming bareness of Mohit Chauhan's voice has been used splendidly by the Master in this track, rather in each of the dozen tracks rendered by Mohit Chauhan for this Movie's soundtrack. The way the track begins in a confused oscillation depicting the different stages in his lives where Jordan (Ranbir's character in the movie) bumbles over his guitar..striking few chords in and out of his fingertips, to get things right...

As appalling as the music are the lyrics of this song (once again.. I would say for all the songs in this album!).... thankfully, this is no Pyaar hua...dil toota type mumbo jumbo.. but rather a simple song with lyrics simple enough to touch the deepest chores of the soul.... O Ya ya ya... O Ya yaaaa.... can't stop beaming... ;)

Every time Imtiaz Ali makes a movie, I get filled with extreme curiosity and a vigorous will to watch the movie on the first day itself! Socha na tha created that urge and Jab we met only elevated it. Maybe, it’s the soul-touching music along with the soul-rendered lyrics that give rise to such an urge. Or maybe it’s the impression his movies create in the first trailer itself! But as long as the film justifies the expectations, you don’t want to blame anyone. However, when the film doesn’t live upto that hype, the level of liquid descends in your heart. Love Aaj Kal, despite my craze for the movie’s lead pair & the song DOORIYAN, I ended up spitting at the movie after watching it once. The reason??? Simple enough, the director promised something in his trailers & the songs, but the movie failed to nurture and reap what it had promised. It was just another love story, which due to simple minds & stereotypes alike, became a big hit in the box office. And three years later, once again Imtiaz came up with a Biggie, just like the last time, I had all my nails curved on this one, especially with the untamed Lion’s look that Ranbir carried in the posters, I was totally up for granted.. for this movie. Expecting something really different, never before seen in Indian cinema kindastuff... Blame it on the tracks Saadda Haq & Jo Bhi mei, the energy of the former & scamper in the latter were enough to drive me to the theatres even a night before the release. And unusually, the songs were not all about love and falling in love or breaking hearts, but on hard hitting spit on the society and self demoralization. But Alas! Rather a half-hearted alas, coz I did like the movie, but it didn’t live upto the expectations woven deep within. Just like the last one, this one too missed that ‘something’. Something that had to connect the characters with the story. It is really difficult to tell what the movie is about- the journey of a musician, the unstable relationship between two lovers or a series of events that leads to the beginning where it all ends.

People have started complaining that I am a terrible critic, but I am just being honest. The movie has a soul, but lacks the spirit connecting it with the story. Performance was really good, there were just three characters who took most of the screen time, Ranbir being the main one. Ranbir scores all points in his transformation from a ‘nanna munna choo choo’ to the hard hitting rockstar. Nargis was pathetic in the first half, however she did well as the dying lover in the second half. Aditi Rao was simple and played her small part simply...well! Besides there were some really underdeveloped characters who fade in and fade out after sometime, Shmmi Kapoor being one of them. He superbly immortalized Ustad Bismillah Khan in his small role in his last movie. Hats off to him!

As for the technical part, the movie has been beautifully shot, with an ending that compromises for all the 2 and half hours of uncooked khichdi that was shown before it. The way the ending was picturized gives a long lasting effect in the mind of the viewer. While the music kept you going away from your seats. Yes, the movie has a story, a good one, but it doesn’t really require a Title like ROCKSTAR, a simple HEER (name of Nargis Fakhri’s character) would have been enough.

As for the narration, the one thing that I absolutely loved was the way Imtiaz wove flashbacks within flashback and back and forth, without breaking any continuity. It’s an art and I bow unto him for pulling it off such brilliantly. My only complaint, the movie wasn’t as dark as I had expected, rather it wasn’t Dark at all. Indian Cinema hasn’t grown that much, I assume. Overall, A movie worth watching, and like I said, the simple minds and stereotypes would like it, but for those who are used to Hollywood & movies with dark touch, won’t give this movie a pint of a hump.

VERDICT – Watch it, great music, meaningful lyrics, nice screenplay. Ranbir’s thundering performance and an ending that is perhaps the best ever in Indian Cinema till date (or second best to Mani Ratnam’s Guru)

If caste has disappeared from the Indian Scenario

As once opposed by vicious phenomenon courtesy the great cultural heritge of India (Casteist Hinduism to be precise), on this day of modern era we easily get to see, rather do, people blending together regardless of their creed or caste in holy places like Udupi. It was the first time I had been to the ancestral town of Madhwa Brahmins in almost two decades. I remember my grqndmother talkung about the ways in Udupi back during their era; how the upper caste folks would keep lower caste people below their belts, suppressing the growth of such people in every way possible. Altering the Vedabhyaasa system and reserving it for the privileged elite was one such step. Something similar to what Dan Brown highlighted in his genius of a work, The Da Vinci Code. If there is some kind of a theory affirming the deep rooted evil of casteism then such a tattva is a manipulated one. The original Caste system was simply a way of dividing people on the basis of the work they performed. As far as I know, this was not something decided at birth, but rather taken up gradually as a person grows. But then Brahmins became the holders of Knowledge and confined it within themselves. While the so called lower caste people were discriminated. The practice continued for such a long time that it was sealed as a superstrong theory.
The system in the southernmost state of Kerala was even worse where untouchability was practiced even between certain classes of Brahmins themselves. Certain saints and Mahapurushas have appeared every once in a while to throw light on the real thing, but despite efforts most of them just ended up with large numbers of followers. What was the use of such a massive worship when it only increased the gap between the castes, the higher ones feeling more and more insecure regarding their hold in the modern social setup.
I am sitting here inside a Mandapam in Udupinangadi near Udupi, South Karnataka, attending my cousin's engagement ceremony. Psst... I just heard someone murmuring something about lower caste people. Anyway let me pack up everything and take you where I began my blogpost. Things have changed around here, no more are there caste driven streets and temples restricting entry to the 'lower people'. But we still have to go a long way before the Indian society is free from the evil of caste, something that can be done by open mindedly (and open heartedly) accepting intercaste marriages and gatherings. Come on! Out of a billion people an Indian can only marry someone from his or her own religion and caste, where does that leave us? THINK!

Five days and three hours since coming back to my village in kerala, one thing that I have realized is an obvious and basic fact of my nature: Grass is always greener on the other bank. Lol! Talking about banks, i have been going in and out of banks since yesterday owing to account transfers and fund depositions. Even right now, as I am typing, I am breathing the air of another bank in Thrissur. Getting here wasn't a struggle. There is bus service to every nook and corner of the state. Auto rickshaw fares are quite affordable too. But whats not affordable is the way in which people here ply for Rules. There is a protocol for everything and people cry over smallest of defaults. Back in Gurgaon and Delhi, i used to feel that people were so negligent when it came to rules. The fact bothered me so much (especially in the middle of a traffic jam) but now I feel so opposed ironically. I really think that gurgaonites were better off as carefree kinda people for Now I am at a place that is something less than Hitler's prison.

A decade back, Anurag Kashyap directed his first film Paanch which, despite being unreleased till date, is perhaps the most popular pirated film of Bollywood. For people who missed Paanch , Shaitan kinda revisits the basic plotline of the film, proving that Kashyap's directorial debut was ahead of its time and one can relate to its theme and treatment in today's times.

NRI Amy (Kalki Koechlin) shifts to Mumbai and makes friends with a bunch of urban brats who believe in living life on the edge. The gang includes the loaded KC (Gulshan Devaiya), a drug-peddler Dash (Shiv Pandit), model-cum-aspiring actress Tanya (Kirti Kulhari) and the idler Zubin (Neil Bhoopalam). A random hit-and-run episode on a dopey night lands them into trouble when a cop (Raj Kumar Yadav) tracks them down and blackmails for huge ransom.
In a tight situation, the gang mutually decides to fake Amy's kidnapping and ask for money from her father. Suspended Inspector Arvind (Rajeev Khandelwal) is asked to investigate the abduction case. Meanwhile distrust spreads amidst Amy and the group and things go horribly wrong.

While Shaitan borrows the basic idea of self-kidnapping from Anurag Kashyap's Paanch , everything else from the characters to their conflicts are original. The screenplay by Megha Ramaswamy and Bejoy Nambiar is riveting and runs at breakneck speed. The characters are introduced and established as early as the title credits roll, the youth euphoria soon follows giving an adrenaline rush to the narrative until the accident arrives with a jolt.

The flavour of the film keeps fluctuating as the tone of scenes keep changing from extreme tension to lighthearted moments but there is never a continuity lapse as such in the temperament. A techno-version of the yesteryear song Khoya Khoya Chand plays in the backdrop of a shootout-cum-runaway sequence in the second half and though the song is not in sync with the situation, it is so beautifully edited and incorporated that it compellingly complements the onscreen antics.

As far as the plot is concerned ,currently its not possible to comment on it ... we have to wait and watch the movie which is set to release in theaters near by you on July 1st .......

Engeyum Kadal is one such movie that is very pleasing to watch , it has a very soothing effect .The plot is something very rare . It is a love story...but a different one .

Like every love story has a hero heroine and a villain ....lots of fights ....the hero coming in for the rescue of the heroine and all that . In this movie there is nothing of that sorts .Yes of course it has a hero and heroine ...but it doesnt have any villains nor any fights .As far as the location is considered it is just amazing and a perfect one. Paris is known as the city of love..is the best loaction for a romantic movie like this ...A very good work done by the cinematographer....Moreover this movie is a straight ripoff of the english movie LOVE IN THE AFTERNOON(1957).
About the soundtrack of the movie ,I would say this the best work of Haris Jayaraj....This movie has all together 7 extraordinary tracks .....out of which one song "Nangai" sung by Richard and written by Vaali is a copy of Michael Jackson's "the way u make me feel"...
The rest of the songs are romantic songs ,which are very beautifully choreographed and also very soothing to hear not only the music but also the lyrics ...the credit goes to Thamarai ,Vaali , Na Muthukumar , Madhan Karky ,Emcee Jazy and Kash ....
Well we can say Engeyum Kadal as a tamil romantic musical film ......For people who love romantic movies ,this is the best treat for you this summer....

He who sings the thousand names of Vasudeva,

With utmost devotion,

After he rises in the morn,

With a mind tied in Him always,

Will get fame without fail,

Will be first in what he does,

Will get riches that last,

Would attain salvation from these bonds,

Will never be afraid of anything,

Will be bubbling with vim and valour,

Will not get any ills,

Will be handsome forever,

Will have all the virtues in this wide world,

And he who is ill will get cured,

He who is bound will be free,

He who is afraid, will get rid of fear,

He who is in danger , will be safe.

Durganyadarthyasu purusha purushottamam,

Stuvan nama sahasrena nityam bhakthi samanvida

He who chants these holy thousand names,

With devotion to Purushottama,

Will cross the miseries,

That cannot be crossed

Without fail.

Vasudevasryo marthyo vasudeva parayana,

Sarva papa vishudhatma Yati brahma sanathanam

The man who nears Vasudeva,

The man who takes Him as shelter,

Would get rid of all sins,

And become purer than the pure,

And will reach Brahmam,

Which existed forever.

Na vasudevabhaktanamasubham vidyate Kwachit

Janma Nrutyu jara Vyadhi Bhayam naivopa jayade

The devotees of Vasudeva the great,

Never fall into days that are difficult,

And never forever suffer,

Of birth, death, old age and fear.

Imam stavamaddeyana sraddha Bhakthi samanvidha,

Yujyedathma sukha kshanthi sri dhrithi smrithi keerthibhi

He who sings these names with devotion,

And with bhakthi,

Will get pleasure the great,

Patience to allure,

Wealth to attract,

Bravery and memory to excel.

Na krodho na cha matsarya na shubha mati,

Bhavanthi kritha punyanam Bhakthanam puroshottame

The devotee of the Lord Purushottama,

Has neither anger nor fear,

Nor avarice and nor bad thoughts

Dhyau sachandrarka nakshatra Kham diso bhur mahadathi.

Vasudevasya veeryena vidhrithani mahatmana

All this world of sun and stars,

Moon and sky, sea and the directions,

Are but borne by valour the great,

Of the great god Vasudeva.

Sasurasura gandharwa, sayakshoraga rahshasam,

Jagaddese vartatedam krishnasya sacharacharam

All this world,

Which moves and moves not,

And which has devas, rakshasas and Gandharvas,

And also asuras and nagas,

Is with Lord Krishna without fail.

Indriyani mano bhuddhi satvam tejo bala dhruti.

Vasudevatmakanyahu kshetram ksheragna eve cha

The learned ones say,

That all the limbs,

Mind, wisdom, and thought,

And also strength, bravery body and the soul,

Are full of Vasudeva.

Sarvagamanamachara pradamm parikalpathe,

Achara prabhavo dharma dharmasya prabhurachyutha

Rule of life was first born

And from it came Dharma,

And from it came Achyutha the Lord.

Hrishaya pitaro deva mahabhootani dhatava,

Jangamajangamam chedamJagannarayanodbhavam

All the sages,

All the ancestors,

All the devas,

All the five elements,

All the pleasures,

All the luck,

All that moves,

All that does not move,

All came only,

From the great Narayana.

Yogo gnanan thada sankhyam vidhya shilpadhi karma cha

Veda shastradi vignanam death sravam janardhanath.

The art of Yoga

And the science of Sankhya.

The treasure of knowledge.

The divine art of sculpture.

And all Vedas and sciences,

All these came from Janardhana

Eko vishnu Mahadbhutham pradag Bhutanyanekasa,

Treem lokan vyapya bhutatma bhungte viswabhugavyaya

Vishnu is many ,

But He is one,

And he divides himself,

And exists in all beings,

That is in three worlds,

And rules all of them,

Without death and decay.

Imam stavam bhagavatho vishnur vyasena keerthitham,

Padedya icched purusha sreys prapthum sukhani cha

He who desires fame and pleasure,

Should chant these verses, sung by Vyasa,

Of this great stotra of Vishnu without fail.

Visweswaramajam devam Jagatha Prabhumavyayam,

Bhajanthi Ye pushkaraksham na te yanthi parabhavam

Na te Yanthi Parabhava Om Na Ithi

He will never fail,

Who sings the praise of the Lord,

Of this universe,

Who does not have birth,

Who is always stable,

And who shines and sparkles,

And has lotus eyes.

Om Nama He will not fail

Arjuna Uvacha:-

Padma Pathra Visalakha padmanabha surothama,

Bhakthanamanu rakthanam Tratho Bhava Janardhana

Arjuna Said:-

Oh God Who has eyes,

Like the petals of lotus,

Oh God, who has a lotus,

On his stomach,

Oh God, who has eyes,

Seeing all things,

Oh God, who is the Lord

Of all devas,

Please be kind,

And be shelter,

To all your devotees,

Who come to you with love.

Sri Bhagawanuvacha:-

Yo mam nama sahasrena stothumichadi pandava,

Sohamekena slokena sthutha eva na samsaya

Sthutha eva na samsaya Om Nama Ithi

The Lord Said:-

He who likes, Oh Arjuna,

To sing my praise,

Using these thousand names,

Should know Arjuna ,

That I would be satisfied,

By his singing of,

Even one stanza,

Without any doubt.

Vyasa Uvacha:-

Vasanad Vasudevasya vasitham bhuvana trayam,

Sarva bhutha nivasosi vasudeva namosthuthe.

Sri Vasudeva namosthuthe om nama ithi

Vyasa said:-

My salutations to you Vasudeva,

Because you who live in all the worlds,

Make these worlds as places,

Where beings live,

And also Vasudeva,

You live in all beings,

As their soul.

Parvatyuvacha:-

Kenoupayena Laguna Vishnor nama sahasragam,

Patyadher Pandither nithyam Srothumichamyaham Prabho

Parvathi said:-

I am desirous to know oh Lord,

How the scholars of this world,

Will chant without fail,

These thousand names,

By a method that is easy and quick.

Easwara Uvacha:-

Sri Rama Rama ramethi reme rame manorame,

Sahasra nama thathulyam rama nama varanane

Rama nama varanane om nama ithi

Lord Shiva said:-

Hey beautiful one,

I play with Rama always,

By chanting Rama, Rama and Rama,

Hey lady with a beautiful face,

Chanting of the name Rama ,

Is same as the thousand names.

Om Nama Rama Nama is same as

Brahmouvacha:-

Namostvanandaya sahasra moorthaye

Sahasra Padakshi sirory Bahave,

Sahasra namne purushaya saswathe ,

Sahasra koti yuga dharine nama

Sahasra Koti yuga dharine nama om nama ithi

Brahma said:-

Salutations to thee oh lord,

Who runs the immeasurable time,

Of thousand crore yugas,

Who has no end,

Who has thousand names,

Who has thousand forms,

Who has thousand feet,

Who has thousand eyes,

Who has thousand heads,

Who has thousand arms,

And who is always there.

Om Nama He who runs thousand crore yugas

Sanchaya Uvacha:-

Yatra Yogiswara Krishno Yatra Partho dhanurdhara

Tatra srirvijaya bhoothirdhruva neethir murthir mam

Sanjaya said:-

Where Krisna, the king of Yogas,

And where the wielder of bow,

Arjuna is there,

There will exist all the good,

All the the victory,

All the fame ,

And all the justice.

In this world.

Sri Bhagawan Uvacha:-

Ananyaschinatayanto Mam ye jana parypasathe,

Thesham nityabhi yukthanam yogakshemam vahamyaham

Parithrayana sadhunam vinasaya cha dushkritham,

Dharma samsthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge

Artha vishanna sidhilascha beetha, Goreshu cha vyadeeshu varthamana

Samkalpa narayana sabdha mathram vimuktha dukho sukhino bhavanthu

Sri Bhagavan said:-

I would take care,

Of worries and cares of Him,

Who thinks and serves me,

Without any other thoughts,

To take care of Dharma,

To protect those who are good,

And to destroy all who are bad.

I will be born from time to time.

If he who is worried,

If he who is sad,

If he who is broken,

If he who is afraid,

If he who is severely ill,

If he who has heard tidings bad,

chants Narayana and sings Narayana's praise,

All his cares would be taken care of

A very interesting stotra that I chant after finishing the thousand names. This stotra has to be chanted three times after chanting the thousand names of Lord Shri Hari

श्री राम राम रामेती रमे रामे मनोरमे |

सहस्रनाम तत्तुल्यं श्री रामनाम वरानने ||

śrī rāma rāma rāmeti rame rāme manorame

sahasranāma tattulyam śrī rāmanāma varānane

We chant the peaceful name of śrī Rāma and chanting this thrice is equivalent to chanting the entire thousand names of Lord Vishnu

The One Who is wearing the garland of wild flowers (vanamalī), holding the club (gadhī), the bow (sārnghī), the conch (śanghī), discus (chakrī ) and sword (nandakī)

I bow unto that Greatest personality of Godhead Who is the son of Vāsudeva , the Lord of the Goddess of fortune (śrīmān) and completely surrender unto Him because He will take care of everything

We have finally reached the final stanza of the Shri VishnusahasranAmam as we will learn about the last name of the Lord. He has been depicted in these names as the master of weaponry. All His main weapons are described here through each of His names and in the end we salute His Greatness by chanting aum (ॐ ) namah iti accompanying it with prostration

viśvaroopam

शंख भ्रिननदकी चक्री शारंगधन्वा गधाधरः |

रथांगपाणि अक्षोभ्यः सर्वप्रहरणायुधः ||

सर्वप्रहरणायुधः ॐ नमा इति

śankabhṛnandakI chakrI śārangadhanva gadādharah

rathāngapānirakśobhyah sarvapraharanāyudhah

sarvapraharanāyudhah aum nama iti

śankabhṛt
The One Who holds the shankha or conch called pAnchajanya

nandakI
The One Who holds in His hand the sword called nandaka

chakrI
The One Who holds the discuss or chakra called sudarshana chakra

śārangadhanva
The One Who holds the bow and arrow called shAranga

gadādharah
The One Who holds the club or gada in His hand

rathāngapAnih
The One Who holds the wheel of chariot in His hand

akśobhyah
The One Who is the master of all these weaponry and yet if He has no weapon in His hand, He is still untouched by enemies

sarvapraharanāyudhah
The One Who is derivative force of all weapons. He is the master of weapons, even His fingernails have been registered as severe weapons

We repeat this name once again and follow it with aum (OM) nama iti

aum namah
OmkAra has the meaning of auspiciousness, it is the all pertaining divine sound frequency. It came out from the BrAhman's throat at the time of creation

Now we bow unto that Great Personality of Godhead Who is the greatest of everything defined and undefined. One prostration to our Lord is equal to bathing hundred times for a horse sacrifice
