"This year is going to be all about London. With the Olympics, the Paralympics, and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee all taking place in the next 12 months, 2012 will be a spectacular, and memorable, one for the capital. To reflect this, we are looking for photographs that celebrate London in all its diversity. From a sunrise above the Thames to a knees-up in an East End pub, how you interpret that is up to you." The competition runs from January 1 until July 31. Each month I will be submitting a new photo.

I stumbled across this photo of some kids in Rocinha favela in Rio de Janeiro. I didn’t really take notice of it at first, but now it’s one of my favorites from South America.
