Michael Phillips of Broadbandchoices.co.uk comments:

"We're very encouraged that Virgin Media has taken the lead in better managing consumer expectations by pledging to publish its typical broadband speeds each month. We hope that other broadband companies will follow suit."

"Broadbandchoices.co.uk has been pushing for 'typical speeds' to be made the gold standard since 2007 – in the same way that banks use typical APR percentages. This has been prompted by our own research that plainly revealed that public satisfaction with broadband speed has been decreasing year-on-year*."

"To date, consumers have effectively been misled by service providers' claims of what speeds are technically feasible compared to what they receive in the real world. Nevertheless, we still want Ofcom to implement a much clearer – and more prescriptive – marketing message policy for all broadband providers."

*2010 Broadbandchoices.co.uk Customer Satisfaction Survey. Online survey conducted January 2010. 8,438 respondents.

Broadbandchoices.co.uk's top tips for maximising connection speed:

1. Test your speed - If you haven't already done so, use a speed tester to measure the level at which your broadband connection is currently running. This will allow you to see what difference the following suggestions make to your speed. Find one at www.BroadbandChoices.co.uk/speed-test.asp

2. It's good to talk - If you are not getting what you expected from your ISP, then give them a call. You may be able to boost your connection speed simply by asking them if there is anything they can do to help / re-grade the line.

3. Reposition your router - The position of your router can have a significant effect on the quality of your wireless connection. Place it in an area where the signal will be affected by as few obstructions and little interference as possible. For example, away from appliances which emit wireless signals (e.g. cordless phones) and avoiding barriers (such as walls and doors) between the router and your computer.

4. Spring clean your cache - Every time you visit a webpage, your browser will store, or 'cache' it. All these items stored in your cache do take up space and over time it can get very full. Periodically clearing out your browsers cache will enable it to function more effectively.

5. Upgrade your browser - If you are unhappy with the browsing speed of your connection then you should definitely look at upgrading to a newer web browser. Using the latest browsers can greatly reduce the time it takes to download a web page. Check www.download.com for free downloads of the latest browsers, but should be careful when making any changes to the settings on your computer.

6. Monitor your applications - There are many applications (such as RealPlayer or Windows Updates) that may discreetly start running when you log in to your computer and these may slow your connection down. Set these applications so they don't run automatically - this should reduce your bandwidth overhead and make a noticeable difference to your connection speed.

7. Disable P2P software - P2P applications often continue to run in the background even when you think you've turned them off as they continually upload and download - this will not only slow you down but can also use up your download allowance. To avoid this, check the settings and set the programme to 'no peer to peer,' so it won't run when you are not using it.

8. Loathe thy neighbour - If you have wireless broadband, the first and foremost thing you should do is secure your wireless network. If you are unwittingly sharing your connection with unauthorised users then they will be using up valuable bandwidth. This means that the speed of your connection and download allowance could take a battering, not to mention the security threat this poses.

9. Traffic jams - The time of day at which you go online can greatly affect connection speeds. When lots of people are trying to access the internet at the same time there is increased traffic on the physical phone lines and also each website's servers. Heaviest traffic is usually in the evenings, so to benefit from the fastest speeds you should try to surf when internet traffic is low, generally in the day time or very late at night. If you have heavy downloading to do, you will get the fastest download speeds during off-peak periods.

10. Switch - After all these measures, if your current package still isn't giving you the speed you want, it may be time to switch. The speed you will be able to achieve does depend on some factors outside your control - such as your distance from the telephone exchange. Evaluate the time and money needed to improve on your current connection and decide for yourself if it is worth an upgrade. Use our Ofcom accredited comparison calculator at www.Broadbandchoices.co.uk to compare broadband deals and find a more suitable package for you.

40-50% ‘out of the box’ browser speed improvement

London, 2nd September Corporate websites and intranets have become both the shop windows and the in-house magazines for many companies, highlighting their public offerings as well as illustrating their brand values internally to employees. Building these sites into compelling portals requires mastery of several fast-changing technologies, being sensitive to the culture of the site’s audience and a focus on crisp, clear communications.

Leading UK consultancy, Brightstarr has been entrusted to develop public-facing websites and intranets by hundreds of UK businesses including Mulberry, Standard Bank and Oxford University using the popular Microsoft SharePoint technology platform.

Key to Brightstarr’s success is its ability to understand the wide range of expectations of its clients. Brightstarr’s services team brings bespoke brand consultancy, web design and deep IT experience together, as required by the client, to meet its strategic communications objectives. The challenge is to translate these corporate objectives into technically-sound solutions which it can also install and host for customers if needed.

It is a busy environment delivering a new site per week. Leading the charge is Brighstarr SharePoint evangelist, Robbie Leggett, an industry veteran. He explained: “We are a pure SharePoint consultancy, with some of the best SharePoint people in the business and so our team brings a lot of technical prowess with attention to detail. Our focus is to help clients realise their communications objectives via user-centered design”

Recently the SharePoint platform has been revolutionalised by the release of SharePoint 2010, bringing important enhancements including a fluent new User Interface (UI) with excellent Web 2.0 features, better integration with back office applications and document management. The entry-level SharePoint offering, SharePoint foundation, is where many organizations begin their journey and realise the ‘quick wins’ which this powerful technology allows. However, to fully realise their objectives they require a new level of expertise – the sort Brightstarr provides.

SharePoint infrastructure consultant, Hugh Wilkinson, defines the challenge that results in so many Brightstarr consulting engagements:”Customers often start working on something and this helps them to realise how the product could work for them. As they progress though, they are often held back by a lack of planning and information architecture understanding. Apart from in-depth product expertise, one of the biggest issues facing clients is their server environments which often are adequate for the job, but are often not currently performing in the way they should.”

According to the experts at Brightstarr, most users will not spend more than five seconds browsing for the digital content they are seeking, before looking elsewhere, becoming frustrated or trying other search methods. This makes the loading speeds of SharePoint sites critical to their success.

The technical team experimented with Aptimize, firstly on their own site and then with customers. Brightstarr’s cautious approach was to try out the technology in-house before introducing it to paying clients. The results were a surprise from the start.

“Aptimize installed quickly and easily into our live SharePoint 2010 based website without any need for complex configuration. The results were much faster serving pages. Aptimize takes all the items required to load on a page and bundles them together meaning fewer round-trips from browser to server. The net result was page load times, 40 to 50% faster using Aptimize straight out-of-the-box and more is possible over time.” recalled Hugh Wilkinson.

While speed is a relatively straightforward benefit, its importance should not be under-estimated. Robbie believes a faster UI is a better UI. “This is all about speed. Everyone gets frustrated with slow Websites. All of Brightstarr’s clients, from the largest to the smallest can now benefit from our fluency in Website optimization with the best solution out there; Aptimize.”

Aptimize is now the default solution recommended by Brightstarr, allowing its customers to get even more value from the well-received SharePoint 2010 platform

Bodybuilders and athletes know that one of the main keys to success is building muscle strength. After two years in development, a new, safe and all-natural dietary supplement is now available to give these athletes even better results.

Scientists have been working with some of the world’s top athletes to produce this new generation of bodybuilding supplement called Bio Forge Pro Max. The product, developed by Biotivia Bioceuticals, is a dietary supplement that increases muscle definition, reduces fat density and improves recovery times.

Supplements can be a big aid to training and to improving strength and performance. This new supplement is an exciting addition to Biotivia’s existing, best-selling collection of products for bodybuilders, Bio Forge lean mass building supplement range.

Bio Forge Pro Max’s muscle building properties have been tested over a two-year period. Bio Forge Pro Max has been found to be effective without the normal side effects associated with other body building products.

Bio Forge is the fastest-growing new bodybuilding supplement in the US. Biotivia Bioceuticals is a leading manufacturer and distributor of Resveratrol-based supplements, which are causing a stir among scientists for their anti-aging properties and huge potential for a wide range of health benefits. Experts believe the natural plant-based compound can simulate the body’s natural defences against cell damage, protecting them against age-related diseases.

Development

Before the development process began, Biotivia asked several champion bodybuilders what they wanted in a supplement. Their responses included better muscle definition, faster and better recovery after workouts, less muscular aches and fatigue, less mental fatigue, more energy and stamina, improved mental focus and reducing fat density.

Based on these key factors, the company set about testing various combinations of ingredients that could achieve the desired results.
Bodybuilders usually need to take a number of several different supplements to achieve the desired results. But with Bio Forge Pro Max, its clinically proven formula combines all these elements in one.
Results
James Betz, CEO and founder of Biotivia, which has produced the new Bio Forge Pro Max supplement, said, “Bio Forge Pro Max is the ultimate answer to every bodybuilder’s and extreme athlete’s demand. Our results have shown a huge improvement in overall strength, muscle mass and recovery time after training.”
Bio Forge Pro Max has been tested by hard-core bodybuilders and athletes who have achieved documented positive results. The new supplement has been developed to be used in conjunction with the existing and hugely popular Bio Forge. Both products work together to achieve even greater results.

All-natural

The new supplement is a combination of Forskolin, Fadogia Agrestis, Cholecalciferol and 7-methoxyflavone. Scientists at Biotivia say the product increases anabolic and thermogenic conditioning, boosts lipolysis and contains aromatase inhibitors that help lower oestrogen levels while causing an increase in testosterone levels.

Bio Forge’s bodybuilding supplements are clinically proven to:

1.	Enhance body mass
2.	Reduce fat mass to support better definition
3.	Support libido and sexual function
4.	Ensure faster recovery times and more productive workouts
5.	Boost both total and free testosterone, verified by serum profiles.

Mobile lotteries in emerging markets dominate short term growth while deregulation of remote gambling also key to future expansion

Hampshire, UK – 2nd September 2010: A new report published today by Juniper Research has found that a combination of mobile casino, lottery and betting service launches in major emerging markets lead by China allied to liberalisation of remote gambling legislation across the US and Europe will see the scale of annual wagers on mobile gambling exceed $48bn by 2015.

The report studies gambling services on a country-by-country basis. It finds that, in recent years, the Japan Racing Association’s iPAT service had been responsible for the bulk of global mobile gambling transactions, with casino/betting services in the UK accounting for much of the remainder. However, the sharp surge in adoption of the mobile lottery service launched by VODone will help propel China into third place in terms of mobile gambling transactions.

Meanwhile, the US market is also poised to see the introduction of its first mobile lottery services. According to report author Dr Windsor Holden, “State lottery providers are anxious to explore new distribution channels, with US lottery sales from traditional outlets in decline. The upshot is that several lotteries are in the latter stages of discussion with mobile technology providers with a view to launching mobile lottery services in 2011.” In addition, the report observes that impending legislative changes in the US may herald an opportunity for mobile casino operators in the medium term.

Other findings from the Mobile Gambling Markets report include:

•	End-users have eschewed multiplayer mobile gambling apps, preferring to multitask while playing “snacking” applications

•	While Apple has begun to permit gambling apps to be sold via the App Store, the majority of service providers are opting for a brower-based approach

A whitepaper exploring the mobile gambling marketplace, Good Odds for Mobile Gambling is available to download from the new Juniper Research website today. The AccuVault 1U 4TB is designed to protect five to 20 servers and/or workstations, and the AccuVault 1U 8TB is designed to protect 20 to 40 servers and/or workstations. Both models integrate high- availability features such as RAID-5, hot-swap drives, redundant power, dual GbE and the ability to connect to a 1U RDX bay configuration. Onboard AccuGuard Enterprise software deduplicates data at the source, streamlining the storage backup process and greatly reducing the time and cost of transferring and storing data.

"While small and medium-sized businesses invariably need the same level of robust data protection as large enterprises, they often need to meet and support that requirement with relatively less IT budget and staffing," said Mark Peters, senior analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group. "The Tandberg Data AccuVault appliance exemplifies the kind of technology that can bridge that resource gap by enabling such users to deploy a turnkey backup solution that is simultaneously very well featured yet affordable and very simple to install and manage."

AccuGuard Enterprise Data Protection and Deduplication Software

Designed for ease of set up, use and management, AccuGuard Enterprise software, which is embedded in the AccuVault appliance, increases effective backup storage capacity and decreases the backup windows leading to hard dollar savings. Source-based deduplication – deduplication of data by identifying and removing redundant data prior to storage – allows users to optimize bandwidth, enabling daily backups to shrink in size and run up to 20 times more efficiently. AccuGuard Enterprise software provides users with centralized management of client backup operations and eliminates redundancy across multiple clients. The software is ideal for environments that run Exchange and SQL as well as those with virtual machine applications like VMware and Hyper-V. In addition, AccuGuard Enterprise software facilitates management of RDX removable disk-based cartridges for offsite backup, disaster recovery and archive.

Pricing and Availability

The AccuVault Data Protection Appliance will be available in September 2010 through Tandberg Data’s established channel of distributor and reseller partners. The manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) of the AccuVault RDX 1TB starts at $2,999. The MSRP of the AccuVault 1U 4TB starts at $8,499, while the AccuVault 1U 8TB starts at $15,999. All models come with one-year onsite service (where available) and software maintenance. Service and software uplifts, and additional AccuGuard Enterprise licenses, are also available.

Businesses such as estate agents, never need miss a call again, says Natterbox, a pioneer of cost effective telecommunications solutions within the hosted voice sector. Understanding businesses requirements from those that are on the go, Natterbox aims to make life easier by offering a service that can programme any device as an additional extension.

Natterbox's small business PBX service enables professions such as estate agents to route any telephone call, whether it is an incoming external or an internal call, to a single user or to multiple voice devices at once. Mobiles, landlines, even computers can be used as an extension of a telephone network, meaning calls can be answered anywhere in the world.

When several staff members are out of the office and others are speaking to customers or already taking calls, the Natterbox service can route an inbound call to the next available person in another branch, ensuring business isn’t lost due to an engaged line or delayed answering. Understanding the business needs of active trades such as estate agents and others, who constantly move locations during the day, Natterbox’s hosted voice means that a user’s office extension, mobile phone, home line and PC can all ring at the same time, helping to make sure a call is never missed.

The hosted voice platform from Natterbox requires no hardware or software to be installed, ensuring it is also a cost effective service for the business. In addition to this Natterbox also provide mobile voicemail, a service which is aimed for those who are often out of the office but require access to their information and messages. This feature can be dialled from any phone line across the world.

Neil Hammerton, CEO of Natterbox, said: “Testament to the advancements made in the telecoms sector, businesses now have access to a wide range of features helping to make communicating simpler and more efficient. With many occupations facing the daily challenge of being unreachable, services such as hosted PBX mean companies no longer have to worry about missing calls and potentially losing business.”

•‘Work Smart Cost Saving’ campaign underlines Trustmarque’s dedication to public sector

York, UK: 1st September 2010. Value Added Reseller (VAR) Trustmarque Solutions announced today that it is significantly enhancing its commitment to the UK public sector by launching its Work Smart Cost Saving Campaign.

Through an innovative approach to IT delivery, the Trustmarque Work Smart Cost Saving Campaign is designed to squeeze out costs and stretch budgets further to deliver optimum value on IT investments. Trustmarque is focusing resources on helping public sector organisations achieve a reduction in spend with a commitment to drive costs out of an organisation whilst ensuring day to day operations are more efficient and secure.

Recent announcements that public sector spending will be reduced by £83bn by 2014 are putting great pressure on IT departments to do more with less. The need to work smarter and to sweat assets will be key to ensuring a robust, compliant infrastructure. To deliver savings, many organisations will be looking to automate manual processes, take services online to reduce overheads, implement new technologies such as virtualisation, cloud computing and Software-as-a- Service, as well as look to manage their existing assets more effectively. Trustmarque understands these challenges and its primary goal is always to optimise the existing IT infrastructure before considering new investments.

Trustmarque is the VAR of choice for more than 1,000 public sector organisations which account for a significant part of the company’s business. Flagship customers include HRMC and the Metropolitan Police Authority. Trustmarque is now looking to increase this stronghold and the Work Smart Cost Saving campaign will see five major areas within the public sector targeted over the next six months – Central and Local Government, MoD, the Police and the NHS.

“The public sector is a key part of our business,” said Angelo di Ventura, Director of Sales and Marketing, Trustmarque. “For more than twenty years we have been a trusted advisor to the public sector, ensuring maximum value for their investment. We have supported organisations through the boom and bust years and we understand better than most the pressures they face. Now we want to assist further by showing the public sector how simple it is to achieve cost savings.”

Earlier this year, Trustmarque gained a place on the government IT framework for Commoditised IT Hardware and Software (CITHS), previously known as Catalist. Trustmarque is one of just ten companies to be awarded a framework agreement for a position on the prestigious software supplier list with preferred adviser and provider status to both central (civil) government and the wider public sector.

In September 2009, Trustmarque launched its Trustmarque Enterprise Solutions Group (TESG) which focuses on offering a well defined set of processes and procedures built around industry practice. The division comprises six solution areas: Business Intelligence, Information Security, Infrastructure Optimisation, Managed Licence Services, Storage & Virtualisation and Unified Communications.

“The Work Smart Cost Saving campaign will formally define how organisations can utilise Trustmarque’s expertise and solutions to squeeze spend and drive down costs,” said David Marriott-Lodge, Head of Professional Services, Trustmarque. “Our job is to ensure that our customers get the best out of their IT infrastructure, while reducing risk, cutting implementation times and working towards achieving a fast return on investment. We are confident that with our experience and expertise, we can help the public sector optimise their IT environments and achieve cost savings. ”

Mascus, one of the biggest names in the world for the sale of used construction machinery, agricultural, material-handling equipment, forestry, transportation trucks and machinery has just reached a major sales milestone – 100,000 used equipment ads.

This latest breakthrough follows the news that Mascus had reached over 1, 2 million unique users per month and means that there’s now even more reason for buyers from all over Europe, the US, Canada, South Africa, Australia, the Far East and the Russian Federation to browse and compare ads for machinery on Mascus.

“Reaching 100,000 ads is extremely significant for Mascus,” comments Sales Director Rickard Petersson. “We’re obviously pleased but not that surprised. We’ve worked hard to strengthen our reputation as an international company selling in all countries by developing new services that make Mascus easier and quicker for our customers to sell their used equipment and to visitors to buy the used equipment and machinery they need.”

Such innovative new services include My Mascus, which allows private users registered on Mascus to, bookmark favourite machines and equipment, place “Want Ads” or get email alerts when items become available; Ad Index, that improved Mascus SEO; compare tool, that allowed adverts to be compared by different factors; Brand Pages, that helps buyers find the right used piece of equipment or transportation vehicle, searching by brand type and more..

Mascus now has a presence in 32 countries across five continents in 42 domains and in 35 languages, making it one of the largest and most influential global portals in the heavy equipment trade in the world. Products available will include tractors, trailers, forklifts, excavators, diggers and trucks for sale.

“The fact that customers around the world can search and respond to ads in their own language has been a major element in our international growth,” says Tomasz Odrobinski, Mascus Internationalization Director. “Dealers have been quick to recognise the international opportunities, allowing them to reach new markets in their own language.”

“We’ve managed to sustain stable growth in all our territories, despite the recession,” adds Mascus Managing Director, Fredrik Larsson. “Our belief is that by continually focusing on what end users and customers want, we’ll continue to grow and deliver great value to both advertisers and buyers around the world looking for used equipment.”

New Sourcefire Technology Partner Program Improves Security Collaboration and Automation with Increased Third-Party Integration

Wokingham, UK – August 31, 2010 -- Sourcefire, Inc. (Nasdaq: FIRE), the creators of Snort® and a leader in intelligent cybersecurity solutions, today announced its vision and strategy for the Sourcefire Technology Partner (STP) Program. The new STP Program helps businesses ensure that their security products are capable of being used reciprocally – supporting maximum return on investment and minimising risk to their network. The STP Program was designed to simplify integration between the Sourcefire Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and complementary security technologies. Through this program, Sourcefire is creating a comprehensive ecosystem of security solutions closely aligned to share information, coordinate responses and deliver an increased level of protection.

“As threats become increasingly sophisticated, it is important for businesses to select security vendors who promote the development of interoperable products and solutions,” said Andrew Hay, Senior Security Analyst with independent IT analyst firm The 451 Group. “The STP Program from Sourcefire is a prime example of one vendor driving integration and collaboration between disparate products.”
The Sourcefire Technology Partner Program enables users to maximise their security investments, speed protection and reduce overhead costs. The STP Program enables organisations to combine leading network forensics, Network Access Control (NAC), Intrusion Prevention System, Security Information & Event Management (SIEM), vulnerability management, and infrastructure technologies into an intelligent security ecosystem. This provides users with an increased depth of technologies that can interact and share information with the Sourcefire IPS, for increased protection and lower total cost of ownership.
Sourcefire empowers partners and increases the effectiveness of protection by providing powerful integration points that enable the IPS to share security intelligence with other leading solutions. This enables Sourcefire to import intelligence from leading vulnerability management solutions for more effective impact assessment. It can also share information with SIEM solutions for increased event correlation and remediate to NAC solutions to quarantine hosts associated with security events.
Sourcefire is currently working with leading security vendors, providing them with access to software development kits (SDKs) and technical support, for increased integration. Following is a sample of current partners:

•	Bradford Networks
•	Net Optics
•	Netwitness
•	Network Critical
•	Q1Labs
•	Qualys
•	Solera
•	Trustwave
•	WhiteHat Security

“To effectively protect against today’s most sophisticated threats, enterprises require their individual security investments to communicate and share threat, vulnerability and impact information,” said Douglas Hurd, Director of Alliance Marketing at Sourcefire. “With the Sourcefire Technology Partner Program, we are enabling our customers and channel partners to leverage and extend the capabilities of their existing solutions, so that they can improve the accuracy and affordability of protection.”

The Sourcefire Technology Partner Program is part of the Sourcefire Global Security Alliance, which also includes channel partners and MSSPs. Sourcefire channel partners play an important role in the program – channel partners deploy, support and manage multiple technologies from many vendors and are uniquely positioned to leverage the benefits of an integrated security strategy for their customers.

"Enterprise customers utilise multiple security solutions to protect their valuable network assets," said Gordon Shevlin, SVP Fishnet Security. "Interoperability and automation of security products is now more critical than ever for businesses to keep-up with advanced attacks and to maximise return on investments."

Major eLearning software authoring supplier CM Group has announced the upcoming launch on 28th September of two exciting SaaS based additions to its LUMINOSITY eLearning software suite. The new products will share the LUMINOSITY family name and are codenamed LUMINOSITY REACH and LUMINOSITY SYNERGY.

Details of the new products are still secret, but they are known to supplement the existing highly successful LUMINOSITY STUDIO collaborative rapid eLearning authoring platform.

CM Group Managing Director Tim Buff said, “No details of the new products will be released until early September, with the full product launch scheduled for the 28th September at the NEC. What I can say is that the additional products will be SaaS based, highly practical and very cost effective. Just as LUMINOSITY STUDIO has changed the game in the world of collaborative eLearning authoring, these new products will provide striking and innovative solutions to a wide range of organisations which either create or use eLearning, or who are interested in doing so in the future.”

The company increased its eLearning course revenues by over 11% at a time when much of the training industry was feeling the squeeze. Content Master is the division of CM Group which specialises in the creation of bespoke eLearning courses for clients in a whole range of topic areas including IT, legal and compliance, management skills, sales training, financial services and job skills and procedures. Courseware clients include organisations as diverse as Microsoft, Orange and Amazon.

Commenting on the results of the survey, CM Group Managing Director Tim Buff said; “Despite the recession we were able to achieve a good level of sales. We have been consciously using technology within Content Master consistently to drive down the cost of courses for our clients, whilst maintaining quality and increasing delivery speeds. We’ve been able to do this largely because of the Luminosity product suite which we use internally, as well as selling to those clients who want to create some, or all of their courses themselves. But even when the combined effect of recession and this reduction in prices is taken into account we were very pleased to see a good level of growth in the year-on-year figures.”

A new Internet start-up is looking to revolutionize the way bloggers and website owners optimize and enhance their sites to better suit their customers and visitors.

By adding 1 line of HTML to a website, designers and website owners will be able to watch replays showing exactly how visitors use their websites – with every mouse movement, click and page scroll being displayed in real-time. It’s like sitting next to the visitor, watching their screen!

The new technology doesn’t require any software to be installed and records visitors from desktops, laptops and even the Apple iPhone.

MouseTrace offers a simple solution which allows any website owner or designer to monitor how their visitors really use their website or blog, no more guessing why people aren’t engaging more, buying or signing up for your newsletters. Drop 1 line of HTML code into your website and then sit back and watch your visitors as they navigate through your website.

By watching how the visitors actually use a website or blog, owners are able to rapidly find faults and identify where improvements can be made to drastically increase sales, better target advertising and improve reader engagement.

Founder, Dan Field explains “We developed the technology behind MouseTrace to enable us to improve our Google AdWords landing pages and our registration processes, which then lead to much better sales conversions for our other Internet businesses.”

“Without this kind of technology we were blind to how our visitors were using our websites, which means we were guessing where the improvements were needed”.

One of the unique features of MouseTrace is that it also keeps a record of what the webpage looked like at the time of the visit, so if it is being used on a blog you can watch how user engagement changes as the blog is updated – or in the case of an e-commerce site, try out different layouts or display options. By storing the raw page content at the time of the visit, MouseTrace is also able to display an accurate representation of the page as the visitor saw it –including how it fits within the visitors’ browser window.

MouseTrace is also the first to record user activity from iPhone users as well, showing the website owner how their website looks on the device and how the visitors are navigating through the website including zooming in and out of pages, rotating the view and using multi-touch gestures.

The MouseTrace service is being launched in the US and the Europe today, with further enhancements already in development.

iPhone games developer Neon Play has hit over a million iPhone downloads for its first two games with Golf Putt Pro achieving a staggering 250,000 downloads in just one day, pushing it to number 2 in the UK and US iPhone free download charts.

It’s the second time Cirencester-based Neon Play has had a top ten hit despite massive US competition. Its first game Flick Football and Flick Football Lite, launched in the summer has over 700,000 downloads and reached no.8 in the charts.

The US currently dominates the iPhone app market with 8 of the top 10 games being from US studios but CEO Oli Christie thinks that there is an opportunity to establish the UK as a centre for app development, with Government support of course.

“The US is dominating the app economy but UK studios such as ours have a great opportunity to break-up this early monopoly through simple, creative, addictive games,” said Christie. "It's already a $250m a month market and the US is getting most of that. Why is the UK so slow to react and why is the government so resistant to this industry? This could be massive for the UK, generating millions in tax but the industry needs a helping hand to compete on a level playing field.”

Neon Play is launching two more games in September - Hotshot Pool and Paper Glider – and has a number of apps it is developing for well known brands and celebs in the coming months.

About Neon Play Ltd
Neon Play Ltd is a mobile games studio founded by Oli Christie, ex-creative director of InboxDMG. Neon Play makes iPhone games and apps and works with a variety of partners to launch the most addictive and fun games on the Apple App Store.
