Easily the largest and most breathtaking Generation 1 Decepticon ever made minus Overlord if you want to count him in.. Forget the crappy Energon Scorponok or Beast Wars...The first incarnation of the name Scorponok is the most remembered Scorponok among Transfans. I personally liked the Headmasters and Targetmasters. They were probably Hasbro's best idea since using Diaclone moulds to make the 1st and 2nd series of Transformers... In 1985, Devastator was the big dog...In 1986 it was Predaking and Trypticon....in 1987 (and 1988 due to lack of a large Decepticon) Scorponok was the big dog, and replaced Trypticon as the Decepticons base of operations...And everyone loved Trypticon so Scorponok had some winning over to do...but with Lord Zarak and a heap of accessories, this wasn't as hard to do as Hasbro thought. He was a success even if he was dwarfed by the Autobot's version, Fortress Maximus (almost half the height!!!)

A few years ago I purchased a loose but relatively complete G1 Scorponok (and Fort Max). As a kid I had Omega Supreme and Metroplex. Whilst grateful, I wanted to see what the Headmaster bases were all about. Even if it took 20 years later to find out... Scorponok came with the following pieces: Lord Zarak (Headmaster Nebulan Head), Fasttrack (a mini attack tank/robot/sentry drone), anti-gravity gun, tower/shield, orange elevator assembly, 2 orange mechanical repair arms, 4 radar dishes, 4 shoulder gun mounts, 2 silver sidings used for Scorponok's legs, and one giant robot/scorpion/base.

Also noted is the fact that Scorponok works extremely well with the Micromaster range of Transformers in base mode. His chest opens up to reveal tech specs like regular Headmasters unlike Fortress Maximus. In Scorpion mode, Lord Zarak rides on the head / seat canopy section.

Generation 1 Autobot Sunstreaker for sale!

It is a shame I didn't start this Transformers G1 blog when I actually had alot more, but my quest to constantly downsize my collection continues. This example is a rather "aged" Generation 1 Autobot Sunstreaker. As you can see the yellow colour is slightly different due to Takara's metal and plastic design. The aged plastic has obviously become out of sync with the yellow on Sunstreakers feet / front bonnet. The chrome wear on the cool engine scoop is highly visible too....

Comes with no accessories but transforms superbly.
