CROWNWeb Extends Phase 3 Through April 20

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) said on March 22 that it has extended the Phase 3 pilot through April 20—and additional four weeks—to give dialysis facilities more time to complete QIMS registration ahead of the national release.

Dialysis Medicare Margins Tightening

Medicare margins for dialysis clinics fell for all providers in 2010, but they were much tighter for rural clinics and clinics not affiliated with DaVita or Fresenius.

QIP Performance Scores to be Posted

FDA Panel Votes in Favor of Affymax Anemia Drug

A federal panel has voted 15-1 in favor of recommending the FDA approval of Affymax's anemia drug peginesatide, according to a Dec. 7 report from the San Francisco Business Times.
