I have been seeing and hearing so many talking about decisions that others have made. This disturbs me because it is all so negative. We all make choices in life, whether they are good or bad; they must be made. I try to look at choices as good, better, and best, instead of good and bad. Yes we can make bad and worst choices; that's a give me. So here is my break down of choice making.
We are all different, so what is right for one may not be right for another.
Circumstances and Personality have a lot to do with how we choose.
Mentality such as stress, depression, and such is a big factor.
Maturity, well yes and no. Because maturity has nothing to do with age; ergo back to mentality.
We are not to judge. That's God's job.
So whether it be worst, bad, good, better, or best we all have the right to choose how, when, what, and why. Our opinions are like boogers, everyone has at least one.

I know I haven't been around much. That is soon to change. I have been in a very bad slump (if you can call it that) and have done much of anything except function as needed. Things are better and I intend to take my own advise and Be Creative. Looking forward to getting my hands inky again. God Bless and have a great day.

SNSTC1209 Challenge

This is the card I did for the SNSS January Release Party Challenge. It is suppose to be Paper Tole, but it doesn't stand out like the ones the DT Members showed. I like the way it turned out. My 15 year old daughter really liked it. She said that it looked like a card you would buy in a store and that is the best compliment I could have ever received. I put a side view so you can sort of see the layering.

Supplies:

SNSS - Pond Pals

CS - SU! - Whisper White, Cameo Coral, Summer Sun

Ink - SU! - Cameo Coral, Summer Sun,Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango,Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Green Galore, Old Olive, Always Artichoke,Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Ballet Blue, Brocade Blue and Stazon Jet Black

Markers: SU! - Basic Gray & Going Gray
I was suppose to use dimensionals or pop dots on this technique to give it depth. I was thinking about the way we use to decoupage.

I would like to take this time to thank everyone for their wonderful comments. I added some extra tidbits to some of the post to answer questions, but it got to be a little much. So you can look back at some of them. I will be placing tutorials on the 3-D items soon. Hopefully I will be better about posting more often and maybe even finish decorating my Pennant Tree. I wanted to send out a Thanksgiving greeting to everyone. If you are traveling; May God be with you and keep you and your family safe. Staying at home; May you have a warm and cozy holiday.
We are going to my eldest daughters this year. things sure do change when you add others to your family, but we can't keep them little forever. My SNL is great and had to work. Just being able to spend this time together is a blessing. Got to start preparations now (forgot to take the turkey out to thaw), so my Hubby will be happy.

Release Party

I participated in my first GinaK release party last night. Boy, trying to keep up was something, but all the projects were fantastic. As hard as it was; I broke the only buy from SU! barrier and ordered some CS and stamp sets. can't wait to get them in.

Big Shot Tree Tutorial

Materials needed:

Scissers & Ruler

Iron & Ironing Surface

Sizzix Big Shot and Stampin' Up! (r) Pennant Bigz XL Die & Extended Cutting Pads http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/CategoryPage.aspx?categoryID=180

One yard each of:

Green material for branches

Material for backing, medium to dark color (just used what I had on hand)

Wonder Under (r)

A piece of brown material about 8"X14" for the trunk of the tree

Some sort of packing or wrapping paper for a template

Cut your green material into 5-1/4"X11" pieces. Fold in half to form a 5-1/4"X5-1/2" square, press the fold to give a solid edge for the pennant. Using the small pennant; line the folded edge up with the outer edge of the pennant on the die. You can cut at least three squares at a time. Your scallops will cut at the same time.

Fold your paper in half. Starting at the fold cut a diaginal line away from the fold. This will give you a triangle template.

I had to play around with the Wonder Under(r). I measured the scallops area and cut lengths to fit. For the pennants I cut strips and folded it to fit the top of the small pennant. All you really need is from the top down to the second scallop on the die, this will allow your tree branches to flip loosely. Cut each Wonder Under(r) scallop in half, so your scallops will have the same feel. Press the Wonder Under(r) to all the scallops and pennants.

Lay out your pennants on the template. Move them around till you have it the way you want. Take off each row and number each pennant for that row and set aside. This will help when you start to put it together.

With your template cut the backing for your tree.

Wonder Under(r) the raw edges inward to create a smooth edge.

Set your tree top to the side. Now starting at the bottom lay out your pennants. Remove the Wonder Under(r) paper from the back and press in place. Continue this process with adding the scallops as you go (the scallops need to be pressed on before you press your next row on), until you get to the top of the tree.

With each row you will need to pull the Wonder Under(r) paper at an upward angle to, the edge of you backing. It should look like the picture below.

Now remove the Wonder Under(r) paper and fold the overhang back on itself and press down. This is what gives you the finished branch look.

Now turn the piece back over and put the tree top on. To do this you need to press Wonder Under(r) to the tip of the backing. Fold what would be the top of the pennant over and press together. Add another piece of Wonder Under(r) at the fold and press the last pennant on with the point upward for the tree top.

Trim the bottom of the backing and Wonder Under (r) it to create a smooth edge. add you trunk and you are finished.

Decorate any way you like.

A couple of friends and I got together last night to make pennet banners. Of course we had to use SU!'s pennant die. It took me a little bit to get it together, but here it is. I can't wait to make more. Tell me what you think.

little bags

I know that these little bags have been a big hit lately.

I made these for a friends little girl's birthday party. Her birthday is on the 30th of this month and I didn't want it to be, too Halloweenish. So I kept to the Fall colors. I used retired SU! Designer Series Paper with very few embellishments since the children were from 4 - 6 years old.
