San Francisco didn’t just participate in the LGBTQ+ rights movement, our city helped build it. Every year on the last weekend of June, that legacy takes over the streets.

The 56th Annual SF Pride Celebration and Parade runs June 27–28, 2026, under the theme “Resistance in Action.” For anyone living in SF, this theme calls for visibility, momentum, and community leadership on the ground.

Harvey Milk marched these sidewalks. Gilbert Baker’s rainbow flag was born here. What started as a small demonstration of 20 to 30 people on Polk Street in 1970 is now a massive global gathering.

Best SF Pride Weekend Events in San Francisco

Trans March: Friday, June 26 Dolores Park to Civic Center | Free
Pride weekend kicks off Friday with a rally and march rooted in visibility, joy, and resistance. Show up for one of the largest trans-specific gatherings in the world.

Dyke March: Saturday, June 27 Dolores Park through the Mission | Free
Saturday brings a community-led, grassroots mobilization weaving through Dolores Park and the Mission District. It’s unapologetically loud and completely free.

SF Pride Celebration & Rally: June 27–28 Civic Center Plaza | 11am–6pm | Free
Civic Center features multiple performance stages, community pavilions, and a marketplace supporting local, queer-owned businesses.

SF Pride Parade: Sunday, June 28 Market Street | 10:30am | Free

Local Tips for Pride Weekend

Transit: MUNI and BART will be packed. Walking between adjacent neighborhoods is often faster than waiting for a train.

Layers: San Francisco summer rules apply. Civic Center swings from hot sun to cold fog quickly.

Dining: Restaurants in the Castro and the Mission fill up early. Make reservations now or expect long wait times.

Dolores Park: If you plan to hang out at Dolores Park before the weekend marches, get there by noon to secure a spot.

Wellness: Start mornings slow before the afternoon crowds hit. If the crowd gets heavy, feel free to step back. Pride is for everyone, including a quieter version of you.

More to Do All Month

Frameline50: LGBTQ+ Film Festival June 17–27 | Castro Theatre, Roxie & Victoria | Tickets from $15
Frameline is the first queer film festival in the world to reach its 50th anniversary. It also marks the highly anticipated return of the festival to the newly reopened Castro Theatre.

The Castro: All Weekend
The neighborhood is the centerpiece of the weekend. Enjoy the bars, drag brunches, pop-up shops, and local block energy that you can’t manufacture anywhere else. Walk it, eat in it, and stay in it.

Living in San Francisco means Pride is woven directly into the fabric of your daily life. They’re your streets, your neighbors, and your city doing what it’s always done: celebrating loudly, pushing forward, and making space for everyone.

Happy Pride, SF!

From the Castro to Civic Center, Pride weekend puts the energy of San Francisco fully on display.
The city’s got fog, hills, and world-class dog parks. Here’s your guide to making May unforgettable for you and your furry roommate.

May is National Pet Month, and there’s no better city to celebrate in. San Francisco seems as if it was designed for pet owners, featuring walkable neighborhoods, off-leash parks on every other block, and an unspoken social contract that says it’s fine to stop a stranger on the street to compliment their dog.

Whether you’re a life-long dog person or a newly converted pet parent, here’s everything you need to make the most of the city this month.

The Neighborhood Guide: Where to Wander

Our city’s walkability is a major perk for pet owners. If you’re looking for the best spots to stretch those four legs, these neighborhoods continue to be the gold standard:

Mission Dolores

Dolores Park is one of the most iconic dog-watching spots in the city. It has off-leash areas, permanent sunshine (by SF standards), and the kind of people-watching that makes a Saturday feel full. Bring snacks. You’ll be there a while.

The Coffee & Treat Stop: Walk over to Bi-Rite Creamery for a scoop. They’re famously welcoming to neighborhood dogs, and you’re almost guaranteed to run into a makeshift puppy meetup on the sidewalk.

Hayes Valley

Take a quick leash-on walk to Patricia’s Green, then post up at a pet-friendly patio with a coffee. The neighborhood rewards slow mornings.

The Coffee & Treat Stop: Grab an iced latte from The Mill or a pastry from Arsicault on McAllister. They’re both incredibly neighborhood-friendly, so you can easily order from the sidewalk with your pup right by your side.

Duboce Triangle & Lower Haight

Duboce Park just got a turf refresh, and it’s looking properly green and ready for action. It’s the perfect bridge between the Triangle and the Lower Haight retail strip. Hit the park for playdates, then wander down Haight Street for some pet-friendly window shopping.

The Coffee & Treat Stop: Grab a drink from Café International at the corner of Haight and Fillmore, then snag a sidewalk table; it’s easily one of the best dog-watching setups in the neighborhood.

Only in SF: The Fog Factor

Don’t let Karl the Fog trick you. Just because the sun is hiding doesn’t mean the UV rays are. If you’re heading out for a long afternoon, pack a collapsible water bowl. SF pups play hard, and hydration is key, even when the marine layer is rolling in.

What to Look for in a Pet-Friendly Apartment

Not all “pets allowed” apartments are created equal. Here’s what actually matters when you’re apartment hunting with a four-legged plus-one:

Flooring: Hardwood and tile are your best friends. They’re easy to clean, scratch-resistant (mostly), and a lot kinder to your security deposit than carpet. Bonus: your cat will absolutely skid across it at 2:00 AM.

Storage: Pets come with stuff (food, toys, carriers, and the leash collection that somehow multiplied). Look for apartments with extra closet space or room for a mudroom-style setup near the entry.

Outdoor Access: A patio or ground-floor unit with outdoor access is a serious upgrade for dog owners. Even a rooftop or shared courtyard will make daily routines a lot less painful when you need fresh air.

Building Policy (Read the Fine Print): “Pet-friendly” can mean anything from “one cat under 10 lbs” to “bring your Great Dane, we love all creatures.” Always ask about breed and weight restrictions, pet deposits, and whether the policy covers all common areas.

Proximity to Green Space: Check the walkability to the nearest off-leash park before you sign. Five minutes on foot is a very different life than twenty.

Quick Tips for Apartment Living

Think Vertical: Wall-mounted shelves give cats the vertical territory they crave without eating into your square footage. Multi-functional furniture, like a side table that doubles as a crate, keeps things clean and spacious.

The “Good Neighbor” Policy: Shared buildings mean shared responsibility. Keep leashes short in common areas, stay on top of those neighborhood “deposits,” and your building will love you (and your dog) for it.

Looking for a fresh way to meet your neighbors and explore the city? While we love a good brunch or a park hang, April is National Volunteer Month. It’s the perfect excuse to get outside, do something meaningful, and connect with the community that makes living in San Francisco so special.

Whether you want to get your hands dirty in a garden or help stock a local pantry, we’ve mapped out your weekends with easy ways to show SF some love. Grab a friend (or head out solo to make new ones) and check out these local opportunities.

Saturday, April 4 | Morning at the Pantry

Kick off the month by helping the SF-Marin Food Bank fight hunger. Their warehouse shifts are high-energy and a great way to see the scale of impact we can make when we work together.

Sunday, April 12 | Coastal Cleanup & Coffee

Spend your Sunday morning at the edge of the world. Refuse Refuse SF hosts fantastic community cleanups that feel more like a social gathering than work.

The Task: Join the crew at the Upper Great Highway & Judah from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. They are the perfect pre-sunset activity, and you’re right by some of the best coffee shops in the Outer Sunset.

Sign Up: Find a Cleanup Near You

Saturday, April 18 | Earth Day in the Parks

This is the big one. With Earth Day right around the corner, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy kicks off its “Spring Days of Service.”

The Task: Head to the Presidio or Lands End for habitat restoration. You’ll be helping maintain the trails and native plants that make our “backyard” world-famous.

Sign Up: Register for Earth Day Events

Sunday, April 26 | Garden Preservation

Wrap up the month with a little bit of history. The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy often has shifts available to help maintain historic landscapes that most people only see from behind a fence.

The Task: Help out at the Alcatraz Historic Gardens or Sutro Heights. They are a unique way to experience SF history while keeping these cultural landmarks beautiful.

Sign Up: Browse the Volunteer Calendar

Pro-Tips for RentSFNow Residents:

Sign Up Early: These shifts fill up fast.

Dress the Part: SF weather is unpredictable. Layers and closed-toe shoes are your best friends.

Stay Local: Check the Refuse Refuse calendar for “1-hour cleanups” that might be happening just a block or two from your front door.

Tag us in your volunteer photos! We love seeing how our residents make an impact across the city.

The post Giving Back is the New Stepping Out: Your April Weekend Guide to Volunteering in SF appeared first on RentSFNow.

The Big Green Party

Celebrate the 175th anniversary of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 14. This milestone marks nearly two centuries of San Francisco history. Stake out a spot on Market Street early to catch the floats and performance groups, then head to your favorite local pub for the real celebration.

Giants Fan Fest: Open House at Oracle Park

Also on March 14, Oracle Park opens its gates for the Giants Fan Fest. It’s your chance to walk the field, sit in the dugout, and tour the clubhouse for free. They’re broadcasting the Spring Training game against the D-backs on the scoreboard, and you can grab photos with the World Series trophies.

Note: Admission is free, but you’ll need to RSVP for tickets in advance!

Petal Power: 80,000 Free Tulips

Circle March 21 on your calendar for Tulip Day at Union Square. Imagine 80,000 free tulips waiting for you to pick them and create your own bouquet. It’s the ultimate Instagram moment and the perfect way to brighten up your apartment for the new season.

Pro tip: They’re totally free, but the line can get long—bring a tote bag and a little patience!

Catch the Tech Wave

With GDC (Game Developers Conference, March 9-13) and RSAC (March 23-26) in town, the city’s energy is electric this month. Even if you’re not in the industry, it’s the best time for networking (or people-watching) at your favorite neighborhood coffee shop. Grab your laptop and head to a cafe in SOMA or Hayes Valley, you never know who you’ll rub elbows with over a morning oat milk latte.

Make Your Move this Spring

Ready to find a new home base for all your SF adventures? From renovated classics to modern pads, we have the keys to the city’s best neighborhoods. Explore our latest SF listings here.

The post Spring Loaded: Your March SF Bucket List appeared first on RentSFNow.

We get it, life is busy. Between hybrid workdays, daily chores, and planning your weekends, “finding time for the gym” often falls off the priority list.

Here’s the good news: you don’t need a gym membership, expensive equipment, or extra space to build a fitness routine that works.

In this blog, we’re breaking down the latest trends, tools, and tactics that make staying fit, and sticking with it, more realistic than ever.

Why Apartment Workouts Make Sense

Home workouts were once seen as a temporary solution, but not anymore.

Apartment fitness continues to thrive because:

Space-efficient gear and smart fitness tech make small spaces work harder

Hybrid routines balance movement and recovery for long-term health

Trends like soft cardio and snack-sized workouts make consistency easier to maintain

Wellness has shifted toward flexibility, and apartments fit right into that lifestyle.

A Quick Fitness Reality Check

Instead of sweating through an hour on the treadmill, modern science tells us:

Consistency beats intensity every time

Movement that fits into your daily life is more sustainable

Smart tracking, not guilt, drives progress

Classic bodyweight exercises still work – think squats, planks, lunges, and push-ups. The difference now is how we approach them.

1) Embrace Snack-Sized Workouts

Short bursts of movement, just 5 to 15 minutes, can boost metabolism, improve consistency, and slide seamlessly into your workday

A little movement, done often, goes a long way

2) Try Soft Cardio (Gentle but Effective)

Soft cardio focuses on low-impact movement that supports heart health without unnecessary strain, perfect for apartment living.

Easy ways to add it in:

March in place during calls

Take quick dance breaks between tasks

Walk or lightly cycle on a compact treadmill pad

It’s proof that fitness doesn’t have to be loud or exhausting to be effective.

3) Use Smart Tools to Stay Consistent

You don’t need bulky machines to take fitness seriously, today’s smart tools are designed to support, not overwhelm, your routine.

Popular apartment-friendly options include:

Smart dumbbells or resistance gear that track reps and progress

Fitness apps with reminders, guided workouts, and goal tracking

Virtual or immersive classes that bring motivation and community

Even simple wearables can help you stay accountable by closing daily movement goals.

Apartment-Friendly Workout Formats That Still Work

Keep things fresh with efficient, proven formats:

AMRAP, as many rounds as possible in a set time

EMOM, every minute on the minute

Tabata, 20 seconds on, 10 seconds rest

Bodyweight HIIT, fast, effective, and equipment-free

Efficiency equals consistency, and consistency delivers results.

Don’t Forget Recovery

Fitness isn’t just about the workout itself.

Make room for:

Stretching or gentle movement for recovery

Sleep tracking, it’s just as important as active minutes

Foam rolling, light yoga, or mobility sessions

Recovery isn’t a luxury, it’s essential for long-term progress.

Fit Tools That Work in Apartments

A few trending helpers that truly make a difference:

Compact walking or treadmill pads, for low-impact daily movement

Fitness apps with personalized coaching, that adapt to your schedule

Wearables and smart tracking, for daily motivation

Tip: You don’t need everything, choose one tool and commit to it.

This Year, Fitness Is About Sustainability

Today’s approach to wellness isn’t “all or nothing,” it’s about building habits you can keep:

Move more often

Keep sessions short and enjoyable

Use smart tools, not fads

Prioritize balance and recovery

Whether you live in a studio or a penthouse, your space can support real progress.

The post Wellness Starts at Home appeared first on RentSFNow.

Concerts and Events Around the City

Super Bowl weekend extends far beyond the stadium. Throughout the week leading up to the game, San Francisco comes alive with concerts, fan festivals, and pop-up experiences. Neighborhoods like Union Square, SoMa, and the Embarcadero are expected to host a range of events, from large-scale performances to interactive fan zones and local activations.

Even if you’re not attending the game itself, the city-wide atmosphere makes it easy to be part of the excitement.

Traffic and Transit Tips

With thousands of visitors arriving for Super Bowl week, traffic across San Francisco and the South Bay will be heavier than usual. Downtown corridors, event hubs, and routes leading toward Santa Clara are likely to see delays.

Public transit is one of the most reliable ways to move around during the weekend. BART and Muni offer access to major neighborhoods and event areas, while ride-shares and carpooling can help reduce congestion. For those living nearby, walking or biking can be the easiest way to avoid traffic altogether.

Planning ahead and allowing extra travel time can make a big difference.

Plan Ahead with Trusted Resources

Super Bowl week involves constant updates, from event schedules to street closures and transit changes. Checking official and local sources can help you stay informed as plans evolve.

Official Event Listings and Schedules
For confirmed concerts, fan zones, and interactive experiences, the Bay Area Host Committee’s official event calendar is the most reliable place to find Super Bowl LX week events across the region.

If you’re interested in the Super Bowl Fan Experience in San Francisco, including interactive exhibits, photo opportunities, and NFL programming, Moscone Center regularly updates details on its official website.

Transit and Traffic Planning
Street closures and congestion are expected throughout Super Bowl week, particularly around downtown San Francisco, SoMa, and major event locations.

The Bay Area Host Committee’s road closure guide provides detailed maps, detours, and real-time updates to help you plan routes in advance.

For transit alternatives, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission offers guidance on using public transportation, including trains, buses, and ferries, as a lower-stress way to get around during peak activity.

For game-day travel to Levi’s Stadium, local coverage from ABC7 outlines available transit options and special service schedules, including Capitol Corridor trains and VTA light rail.

Checking these resources ahead of time can help reduce last-minute stress and allow you to focus on enjoying the weekend.

How to Enjoy the Game Weekend

Whether you’re watching the game or simply soaking in the atmosphere, Super Bowl weekend offers plenty of ways to enjoy the city. Sports bars, rooftop lounges, and neighborhood restaurants will host watch parties throughout San Francisco. For a quieter experience, cafés and local spots provide a more relaxed way to take in the excitement.

Pre-game and post-game events stretch the celebration across the weekend, making it feel like a city-wide moment rather than a single afternoon.

Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium and Getting There

Super Bowl LX will take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Sunday, February 8, 2026, with kickoff at 3:30 p.m. PT. Fans from across the country will gather at this iconic venue, creating an electric atmosphere throughout the Bay Area.

Levi’s Stadium is accessible from multiple neighborhoods, and public transit remains one of the easiest ways to get there. For those living in or near San Francisco, the benefits are clear. You can avoid parking challenges, skip long commutes, and move easily between concerts, watch parties, and celebrations.

Arriving earlier in the day allows time to explore nearby events and fully experience the energy leading up to kickoff.

Perks of Living Nearby

Super Bowl weekend is a reminder of what makes San Francisco living unique. Proximity to major events means more than convenience. It means flexibility, access, and the ability to be part of moments that shape the city’s culture. Living near the action turns major events into experiences woven into everyday life.

Super Bowl weekend in San Francisco is a bucket-list experience. From concerts and city-wide events to the excitement surrounding game day, the Bay Area comes alive in a way few weekends can match. Living nearby turns that energy into a lifestyle, not just a one-time event.

Wildfires are an all-too-familiar challenge for Californians. Here in the Bay Area, we’ve experienced their devastating impact firsthand. But even with that experience, it’s impossible to fully grasp the heartbreak and destruction currently unfolding in Los Angeles. Our hearts are with the victims of these fires, and we’re inspired by the bravery and dedication of the firefighters and first responders who are risking everything to keep communities safe.

At RentSFNow, we believe in the strength of community and the importance of taking action when disaster strikes. The people of Los Angeles need our support, and there are many ways to help. Whether it’s through donations, volunteer efforts, or simply spreading the word about available resources, each gesture of kindness makes a difference.

Supporting Los Angeles: 7 Organizations Making an Impact

We’ve compiled a list of organizations that are doing incredible work to assist those affected by the wildfires. Every contribution, big or small, can make an impact. Consider contributing to one (or more!) of these groups:

California Fire Foundation: Provides emotional and financial assistance to families of fallen firefighters and supports communities impacted by fire.

The Canine Rescue Club: Dedicated to rescuing and rehoming pets displaced by natural disasters, ensuring that animals affected by the fires are safe and cared for.

World Central Kitchen: Chef José Andrés’ organization is providing hot meals to evacuees and first responders on the front lines.

Los Angeles Regional Food Bank: Supplying meals and food staples to families who have lost everything or are temporarily displaced.

Baby2Baby: This nonprofit is delivering essential items like diapers, formula, and clothing to families with children in need during this crisis.

American Red Cross: Offering shelter, food, and recovery resources to those displaced by the wildfires.

Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation: Supporting the firefighters of Los Angeles with life-saving equipment, hydration, and mental health resources.

Standing Together as a Community

In times of crisis, we’re reminded of the resilience and generosity that define us as Californians. Together, we can extend a helping hand to our neighbors in Los Angeles and make a meaningful difference during this challenging time.

Our hearts are with Los Angeles. Let’s stand strong, act with compassion, and support those who need us most.

The post Our Hearts Are With Los Angeles appeared first on RentSFNow.

If you’re considering a move, there’s a hidden advantage to relocating during the winter months. While spring and summer may be peak seasons for apartment hunting, moving in November or December offers unique perks that savvy renters can appreciate. Here’s why winter might just be the best time to find your next apartment:

1. Competitive Rents

Winter is traditionally a slower rental season, which can work in your favor! With fewer people moving, property managers are more likely to be aggressive with pricing discounts to incentivize move-ins. Discounted rents or special offers are common during the winter months andmake finding an apartment in the Bay Area a bit easier.

2. Faster Application Process and Move-In

Property managers typically have more time in the winter to process applications quickly and arrange faster move-ins. This means less waiting for application reviews and a streamlined process from start to finish, so you can settle in sooner and enjoy the holiday season in your new home. RentSFNow offers easy online applications that are often approved within 24 hours.

3. Lighter Competition for Premium Apartments

Fewer renters searching for apartments means you have more choices and less competition. Additionally, leasing agents have more time to take you on tours of multiple properties to ensure you find the ideal home that suits your needs. From highly coveted views of the San Francisco Bay to spacious floor plans and unique architectural details, winter offers a better chance of landing the apartment of your dreams without having to compromise due to high demand.

4. Seasonal Services Discounts

Since winter is generally an off-peak moving season, moving companies are often more flexible and may offer discounts. This can save you money on moving expenses and make the logistics of relocating smoother, with more flexibility in booking your preferred moving date. Other service providers associated with moving – such as internet installation, cleaning services, and even furniture purchases –may be available at lower rates during the winter months. This can help renters save money on overall moving costs and ensure they get the best deals on essential services.

5. Get Settled Before the New Year

A winter move allows you to start the new year in a fresh space. With your move complete before January, you’ll have time to settle in, make your apartment feel like home, and start 2025 with a clean slate. This early start can even help you get a jump on other New Year’s goals and establish a positive new routine.

Need another reason to move during the winter? RentSFNow offers one-of-kind apartments in San Francisco, Oakland, and Los Angeles. Find your new home today!
