There has been so many things that have transpired since my last post. So here is a brief update.

I am the Region A Director for the Hatch Election Committee. It is an honor to work for such a good man as Senator Orrin Hatch. The work is long, tedious and often boring but it is work I am grateful for and I truly believe we would be pathetic to move Senator Hatch from office now. That has been the subject of scrutiny and I certainly have made more than a few bitter enemies.

I am reading and giving away free copies of the Gentleman of the Senate. Call me if you would like to read it. It's an amazing look at the life of a leader.

You can read more about the excitement over my new job. Here:

Sen. Hatch courts tea partyers one by one in quest for survival

<a href="
-insert sarcasm- It's been such a joy on many levels to have such media fodder over my personal choice.

New adventure(s)...

I along with my co-hort, Nancy Woodward, have started a new Utah Federation of Republican Women chapter in Davis County, the Republican Women of Northern Utah.

The main goal is to get republican's elected. We will also hold meet the candidates, host fundraisers, and teach leadership skills, educate about local and state issues, GOTV efforts, and teach people how to run and get elected in the party and other local offices. I am very excited about this new journey!

I am taking a couple birth clients, and I have scheduled in Doula clients where I can, but no more than one a month and none in months where I have too many commitments to the Senator such as April - June because of conventions.

I finished a birth Monday morning for my last client until July. It was a lovely Hypnobabies birth!

I spent the weekend at CPAC (Conservative Political Action Committee) with my girlfriends Darcy Van Orden and Sarah Nitta. We had more fun. I can't even begin to describe the level of stress release it offered. Amazing.

Highlights in no particular order: Seeing an old friend, having our car towed, running into Rep. Allen West and having my picture taken, meeting Jason Mattera, Andrew Brietbart, Benjamin Smith (Brietbart Security), Getting nearly plowed over by Donald Trump's entourage, Dinner with Russ Walker and Max Pappas, Meeting with Sen. Lee, Seeing campaign friends in their new role and cool diggs at Senator Lee's office, Meeting with Sen. Hatch, ridiculous meeting with Matheson Staff, visiting historical sites with DJ Schanz, and Jerry Salcido, Reaganpalooza with Peter Schiff, meeting Gov. Gary Johnson and staff, meeting Dale Peterson, the over 50 contacts I walked away with...just amazing.

We had more fun and than I ever expected.

The talks were great. My favorite....hummmm... Senator Mike Lee, Ann Coulter, and I wish I had made it into the panel with Michele Bachman, Darcy's 2 minute activism panel group and I have to say Ron Paul's talk was full of excitement. Minus the two old grumpy Neo Con's trying to argue with the criminal defense attorney I was sitting with, bad call on their part.

The rest quite frankly I didn't get to hear and I am listening to them online! So if you didn't attend you can watch them here.

I was exhausted and couldn't take one more day of it, I would have ended up hospitalized! I highly recommend attending. Mark your calendars for next year.

I was late but I can assure you, not late enough!

The meeting was to discuss the one room exemption for birth suites. Some licensed midwives, two certified nurse midwives and some direct entry midwives have opened natalocs based on the exemption.

The "State" (health committee) is worried about the reason that women would choose this option for giving birth and are concerned about the "blood on their hands" because women may believe these centers are state regulated. One of the committee members said, "Maybe it is as easy as, we simply make you have a sign stating the centers are not state regulated". Many public members said, "Yes, Yes, Let's do that!"

The woman presenting the information to the committee on the behalf of the State was very anti-midwifery, home birth and VBAC, especially in an unregulated setting. While producing her own presentation she left out a lot of information showing statistical information on the safety and the precedence of care in out of hospital settings. She also incorrectly implied that LDEM's where only licensed to practice in the home, when it clearly states that they are out of hospital providers in the LDEM laws.

She also presented information on Suzanne Smith's website and pointed out that her website was very professionally created and that professionalism translates into competency and therefor is problematic. (Because being competent is a problem...for who? The State or the hospital's competing for a buck? Because it's not a problem for mothers, right?!)

All in all, it was blood pressure rising and grossly misrepresentation of qualified woman caring for their clients in the setting most comfortable for the woman. The biggest problem we face is the lack of understanding that midwives are "with women" where they need to be on their terms and in the environment they deem most comfortable to them. We support women in any position they want, we check them when they ask, or not at all if they never ask. We hold the role of support and guardian and we help sustain the measure of safety as best we can. We also understand and as do our clients that birth is as safe as life gets. There are no guarantees, We are careful cautious and we listen to our mothers. Our mothers are the ones with the most information about themselves and their babies and that is why we offer the best care available.

Medical care is so clinical and so disconnected from the woman and that is a difference that no hospital no matter how cute the paint can compete with and it isn't a model of care that fits with the medical machine.

Sadly, it looks like once again, we are headed to the state legislature. To protect the practice and lively hoods of midwives and to stop trade infringement. We need to make sure these centers can remain open and protect the midwives so they may offer their clients options for their birthing needs.

First, it could well produce a flurry of Democratic retirements. If Democrats couldn't hold Kennedy's seat rather easily with the state attorney general, some Democratic Members will worry, how the heck can they win in November in competitive districts. GOP strategists are already compiling a list of possible retirees if Brown wins, including Reps. John Spratt (S.C.), Allen Boyd (Fla.) and Jim Matheson (Utah) and Sen. I just received a 2010 Obama survey from the RNC. I have had it with the RNC. I offered a donation before we were down to McCain, and then I didn't send it in. I thought McCain was a freakin' joke. He is not any less liberal than Hillary. In fact, Obama makes Hillary look like a kitten. (I digress)

The RNC not only wants to send a message to the Democrats that the R's are still strong. So of course they want your survey to accompany your donation of $500, $250, and on down to $30.00

I filled out and sent the survey back, with a big fat $0 in contribution and a note...

The RNC left the party. Give me Liberty or Give me death, I want my REPUBLIC BACK!

I hope they get the message.

Microsoft has joined to partner with their "Healthvault". However, they also have their own HealthInfo website.

I also happened to stumble upon some information regarding another company that Verimed is partners with, Receptors, LLC read it's white paper on it's new little glucose sensor. There is some speculation on conservative conspiracy websites that this glucose sensor smaller than a spec of dust has been incorporated into the H1N1 vaccine. While I don't see the value in that widespread, I can see why some people think it is plausible. It is probably more plausible than the sterilization theories that abound, and still I don't completely discount those at this point either.

VeriMed has had the benefit of stimulus funds. I think the government plans to use the chip as part of the healthcare bill and I think that the governments plan on a "linked network of your health records" is going to mandate compliance and chipping in people in order to best and efficiently care for your health care records. Sure some people will comply, think nothing of it and say that it makes sense. If someone is unconscious, or unable to speak, their records would be easily accessible after quickly scanning them for their records. I even think it sounds good, reasonable and sensible.

Humor me...(side note) Did you know? The United States used to keep 10,000 silos across the United States full of food and stores, things like Oats, Wheat, Corn and such. Those silos are completely empty. There is no food supply. If we have freezing across our plains, a pestilence, a bacterial issue, a natural disaster and our food crops are affected, we could quickly be in a situation of hunger, huge inflationary food costs and starvation right here on our land.

I am just wondering....How easy would it be for our government to stop or limit the amount of food we could purchase or consume for our families? Would they go as far as limiting purchasing only to those who are compliant and chipped? How far away are these movie like scenarios? Are we paying attention to the signs? Are our lanterns full?

Maybe this is just all crazy talk. Much ado about nothing. Then again maybe not...if you really want an idea how infiltrated we already are with RFID technology just go here, I will link you up to the Pharma page but you can take it anywhere you want to go.

Go here to see how Government Stimulus Funds Inspires VeriMed Relaunch

Here to see Stocks jump after H1N1 patent license win

Here to find out if you have a passport after 2006 you already have been numbered.

Here is a brief list of participating companies:

Microsoft, IBM, Intel, Visa U.S.A. and Proctor & Gamble

I do feel like our government has become much like the Borg and the tiring mantra is...Resistance is Futile, you will be assimilated.

The Senate is the Grinch who stole my Christmas.

The Heritage Foundation made an effort to provide comic relief.

     This not an entirely trivial story contrived for political satire; in fact, even early this year, the 2009 opening to an NHS hospital was canceled until “early 2010” for among other items not being able to “[control] the heat of the floor in some parts of the hospital.” In 2008, a survey by the (British) Health Care Commission found that roughly 11 million hospital meals were simply wasted. Moreover, the Taxpayers’ Alliance in England, find that “misguided directive[s]” lead to a “total waste of NHS resources”, and most importantly, divert global health care resources “at a time when people are struggling to get life-saving operations and medication”.

While the US healthcare system is not (yet) the socialized health care system of the British NHS, Obamacare does continue a massive transfer of regulatory power in the health care and health insurance markets to the federal government. In the attempt to bring more equity into the US health care system by granting the federal government even greater power, even an advanced socialized health care system faces great concerns of inequality. This is highlighted best by Steve Webb, MP and Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, stating of the NHS that “health inequalities still run deeply through our society. People still face an unfair postcode lottery in accessing health services across the country, which bears little relation to need. Health needs around the country would be best met by democratic community bodies giving local people a direct say in the services they need.”

This underscores the gravity of the current health reform debate in the US where the federal government has progressively consolidated regulatory and financing power in health care for the last 30 years. Rather than moving more towards a decentralized system that many in Britain now want (and polls have shown US voters want) US legislators want to centralize more of the power in Washington.

While watching the clip I couldn't help but think about HollyOntheHill's post today regarding, What's wrong with Democare, really her picture says it all.

Since when in America has the government been able to run anything, economically responsible or even competitive, efficient, or competently? Never, to my understanding.

While at a dinner party this past week with medical doctor's, nurses and ICU staff from a local hospital, that though many of these professionals voted for Obama, they are NOT in favor of the impending nightmare of government run healthcare. One of the physician's I spoke with is from Syria and his reason for practicing in the United States was because of the opportunity to provide excellent care for his patients. It wasn't long after being here that he realized there were already shackles in place to prevent that from happening; in the form of insurance companies regulating the type of care and medications that they are willing to provide to particular patients based on coverage. He fears now that once Obamacare is in place, good doctors will either leave their practices, in search for new careers, while others will lower their standard of living and enjoy the life of set hours and pay and accept that their care will be mediocre at best. Then of course there will be the lack of desire to take on such huge amounts of school debt which will detract new doctors from entering the profession at all, adding to doctor shortages and further reduced care.

So, now the question I wonder...Where will the Canadians go to find good cancer and heart health care? America will no longer be able to provide that answer.

You know when my kids are being thoughtless, I have a horrible saying, I think I heard my Dad say it once and it just stuck. "Pull your head out of your A$$." I know, I know, not lady like, Christian or very Mormon of me. But I have to say America, "Pull your head out of your A$$!

Come on, there are 15 countries attending this stupid meeting to reduce our global carbon output. They are using 1200 limousines and the 140 private jets and counting, putting out approximately 40,000 tons of CO2 emissions, more than 30 small countries in an entire YEAR. I guess these National leaders concerned for their countries haven't heard of the very green option of teleconferencing, or webinars.

But it gets better. Since our Beloved President couldn't get the Cap and Trade (which is named incorrectly, I prefer the American Industrial Carbon Tax Bill) Now with news of hacked emails and fraudlent scientific data regarding climate change, and the Cap and Trade bill in peril, we have the EPA stepping in.....

Yes, have you not heard yet? The Environmental Protection Agency is paving the way for the government to require business that emits a carbon dioxide and five other greenhouse gases to make costly changes in machinery to reduce its emissions.

Yes, that is right your exhaling and of course inhaling dangerous gases. The EPA could make our lives a living hell and in fact stop what little manufacturing and momentum we have left in this country, this could be so very very bad for our nation and so quickly, too.

By the way, who is the regulatory czar? Cass Sunstein. Oh but we in Utah shouldn't worry because both Senator's Hatch and Bennett approved his appointing. In fact wasn't it Bennett that said he was harmless? Lovely, what is his job? Oh to regulate!

All this and on the day that my hometown got a dusting of snow. Yes that is right Sacramento got a dusting of snow, the last time that happened I was seven years old. It was Christmas eve or morning 1976! Definitely we are heating up, aren't we?

Christmas shopping is done, thanks to a crummy economy we are in way pull back mode and that made shopping very easy. one gift for each child. I am now also looking forward to enjoying everyday from here on out to Christmas. So in light of all things, there have been some real gifts in the process of this slowed economy. To get back to all things political I see several stories that give me even more hope for our future and our economy.

They have been written better than I could re-write them so I am going to link to the hottest stories that are bringing me joy this holiday season.

Why You Should Be Hot and Bothered About 'Climate-gate'
Read Story Here
Basically, email's hacked prove that researchers have been trying to destroy and liw about facts relating to global warming, seems we are cooling off!

Cap and Trade & Climate Gate (a UK prospective)
Read Story Here
Hard to pass a bill full of pork and lies when there is no threat to our lives.

The great news is that this will hopefully kill the cap and trade bill cold. All these pains of the last year or so will be hopefully well learned lessons to move us into a stronger future. One filled with purpose and drive to inspire us to be educated, involved, and take action.

Out of curiosity I went and did a search for the largest supplier of Wind Mills for Wind Farm. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.)said on ABC's "This Week," where Blackburn (R-Tenn.) was also a guest.

Schultz, a breast cancer survivor, slammed Republicans for trying to use controversial new mammogram guidelines as an argument against Democrats' health care legislation.

"That is incorrect," shot back Blackburn, who had just finished arguing that the Democrats' bill would make the recommendations of the same task force mandatory and thus end up rationing care.

"The guidelines that came out this week by the Preventive Services Task Force have a direct link to what would be offered if the House and the Senate bills were to go into law, if they were to be put into law," said Blackburn, referring to the recent recommendation that women between the ages of 40 and 50 no longer need annual mammograms.

Wasserman Shultz insisted that the task force recommendations were just that, not rules to ration care: "As a breast cancer survivor, I came out against these recommendations. Every major cancer organization has come out against these recommendations. The task force language in that [health care reform] bill actually makes sure that preventive services like mammograms and colonoscopies and other cancer screenings would be free," she said. "They aren't going to be binding. They're recommendations."

If the healthcare bill passes the guidelines become the law. The task force rate guidelines as an A, B, C (so forth) rating and the new guidelines for Mammograms and Pap smears have been rated as a C rating. Therefore, even though they would have been covered at no cost under preventative care in the new health care plan. Their new rating would mean that they would not be covered at all. That is right no coverage for basic cancer care screening.

Blackburn read the language straight from the bill and the the response of Schultz was that the Republicans are twisting the language and meaning of the bill. The discussion became even more heated. Stephanopoulos read himself from the bill and agreed with Blackburn that the language was there, that only A and B recommendations would be covered. Proving Rep. Blackburn's claims.

Rep. Ben Nelson (D-Nebraska) did say that he would not vote this bill off the Senate floor the way the bill currently stands. He wants stronger language prohibiting federal funds for abortion. And he wants more cost control.

It was inspired, he had the attention of every person in attendance.

Thank you very much; I am privileged to be here today. You know I love Congressman Chaffetz toilet story. I like to think we all have a similar problem; there’s this great big toilet back in DC and it won’t flush. (Applause)
Back in 1998, my wife and I found ourselves coming home from DC after internships at the White House and the Supreme Court, and we knew at that time we needed to get active in politics. So the very next year in 1999; we made a phone call to the Republican Party and we said, “How do we attend our mass meetings?” And they said, call this person, and so we did. We called him and a few days later we went to his house and we picked up a manila envelope; in order to host a caucus, because nobody wanted to do it. My wife and I hosted that mass meeting. My wife became the precinct chair, I think, I became the vice chair, she became the secretary, we both became state delegates and we both became county delegates. Now as you can imagine, it wasn’t because we were popular, it was because we were the only two people there. (Laughter)
Now within a year of that in 2000 I had decided. Well, I have been a Vice Chair, I have been a delegate, it’s time to run for congress! So my wife and I set about learning about what it would take to run for congress. Well fortunately someone approached me and said, “Now look, we have got a legislative seat in need of a candidate would you be willing to run?” and I said, “Sure.” I decided to run for the state legislature.
My wife and I spent the next year or our life campaigning as hard as we could and (pause) Sorry, my wife is far more composed than I am she should be speaking. By September of 2000, I walked in (pause) to that chamber, I stood on that dais before a man named Marty Stephens and I took an oath (pause) in which I swore to defend the constitution of the United States of America. (Applause)
As you can probably tell; that moment had a profound influence on my life. I made a commitment at that time that I would do that at the expense of my reputation at the expense at any money I did have. And I committed to serve the very best I could. I served for four years and left to go to law school after having a little boy who sits right over there. When I came back I thought perhaps I was done. But, my time in politics although a very good experience; has been in large part a great disappointment. I have seen that our parties, that our government is filled with patronage and filled with power mongering. That is in direct contradiction and in diametric opposition to what our constitution and our founding fathers intended. When they wrote that constitution, James Madison stated, that there was intent to create a labyrinthine structure that would prevent the aggregation of all branches of government and power into the hands of any one particular faction. And yet what do our parties seek to do? They seek to control, they seek to aggregate power, they have set themselves in direct opposition to the Constitution of the United States of America. (Hear a man shout, “Here, Here” Applause)
Now we all know that is wrong. The Constitution provides the means which a person is invited to transcend and rise above patronage, partisanship and power mongering, it is the oath of office. It is an oath by which we swear to uphold the Constitution of the United States. It is not a partisan document. It is not intended to benefit any one person or one party over another.
Now they are not going to do this on their own, the parties, our congressmen, our senators. You must compel them to do it. You must bind them down with the chains of the Constitution. Now we don’t have a lot of time left to do it. I think it is pretty clear that our Constitution sits upon a precipice and we have a decision to make. Will we let it go the way of so many other governments so many other forms that have been written to try and instill freedom with in the hearts and culture of people or will we bear it away? That is a decision we must make. I believe that we have an opportunity. I believe that we can say from here on out. As Utah goes, so goes the Nation. That is the opportunity you have.
March twenty-third is the night that, that small and peaceful grassroots revolution can begin. You need to be at your mass meeting. You need to become a delegate. No matter what party you go for, you need to be a delegate. If you do I believe we can change the very nature of politics in this nation and we can do it right her and we start with you. I hope that today you leave here with a firm commitment to run to become a delegate no matter what it takes. Ask your family to help you ask them to sacrifice with you and I believe together we will make it possible if not to save the heart of this nation, to at least preserve our state as a shining example of how Constitutional government should be upheld and maintained.
Thank you so much for being here today.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xNzL_sMBOdg/Sv-w5KbgVcI/AAAAAAAAAgA/N7dPka6Lx8U/s320/09+11+13_4582.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5404232573966636482" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xNzL_sMBOdg/Sv-w45Bl0mI/AAAAAAAAAf4/9yABgrP4s-o/s320/09+11+13_4584.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5404232569294541410" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xNzL_sMBOdg/Sv-w4VXMEvI/AAAAAAAAAfw/KFxUMeobIYc/s320/09+11+13_4578.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5404232559721452274" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xNzL_sMBOdg/Sv-w4Ar0JEI/AAAAAAAAAfo/tmRlRaJ4pjk/s320/09+11+13_4571.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5404232554170819650" />

And that led me to this story, US braced for surge of protest over war in Afghanistan.

A few days ago I caught a glimpse of national news (doesn't happen often, because I don't watch TV much anymore). The National Washington correspondent was talking about how more troops are being called up for as the violence in Afghanistan has increased dramatically in the past few months. However, Obama was being careful in his decision to send anymore troops and would be consulting with advisers over the next three weeks before making anymore decisions on the call for more troops. Interesting priorities as he is setting off to lobby for the Olympics and continues to travel promoting his health care bill.

This deserves more decision making and more expediency than that, three weeks, you could lose a war in a lot less time than that. For a president who said he would pull our troops out in a year and has only increased troops, since being called to office. I would have thought we would be seeing a lot more outcry than that. Especially in light of the numbers..."So far this month, 38 American troops have been killed in Afghanistan. For all of 2009, the number is 220 -- more than any other single year and more than died in 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 combined."(quoted from Without Bush media loses interest in war caskets) If the President is all about getting us out of Iraq and sending an upsurge to of troops to Afghanistan then what is the hold up? Why not get more troops out?

I pray for our troops and hope that they are getting the support and equipment they need.

Glenn Beck and other conservative Americans have come together and have created the 9/12 Project

I decided to participate at the State Capitol in Utah. I was impressed, with the unity and the need to connect as Americans that was present, it was Awesome. I forgot my camera but had my phone and I took some pictures. There was a great speech from Congressman Jason Chaffetz, from the Utah State Legislature Carl Wimmer and many more. It was not a "Republican" Event. There were at least half of the people that were there from the clapping Democrats, conservative Democrats and they see that were we are headed is alarming. It was inspiring. I was amazed I loved talking and meeting with these people.

Wish you had been there!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xNzL_sMBOdg/SrlNHQpCI2I/AAAAAAAAAe4/GczbYRy_LUA/s320/09+09+12_3310.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384419616619635554" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xNzL_sMBOdg/SrlNGunbFYI/AAAAAAAAAew/6h1yZhT068I/s320/09+09+12_3311.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384419607486076290" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xNzL_sMBOdg/SrlNGJmLDAI/AAAAAAAAAeo/OL3lG0RZEUY/s320/09+09+12_3333.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384419597548719106" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xNzL_sMBOdg/SrlNFX8DZKI/AAAAAAAAAeg/g1aZ8y-3M4I/s320/09+09+12_3332.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384419584218719394" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xNzL_sMBOdg/SrlNEysRGEI/AAAAAAAAAeY/mq5DzDPYQWc/s320/09+09+12_3336.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384419574220396610" />

It is something that I need to develop about my personality. There are times and places that I do possess that trait, it is just fleeting for the most part. I enjoy being with people who tell me what they think, share their view of the world from their window. I particularly enjoy it when it it differs from mine. The part I haven't learned to deal with is that very few people want to share my seat and look through my window.

My point. I am going to try and be a little more diplomatic in my posts from here on out!

;)

You take a car possibly valued at nothing, pay the person $4500 and allow them to purchase only a NEW vehicle enticing them to go into debt when they possibly would not have done so unless they got such a deal for their vehicle in the first place.

Not only do you take cheap vehicles off the road that another person needing cheap transportation to get to and from work may need. You also take those old beast that families with several children may need to haul their brood around. Now you may not enjoy the gas guzzling monsters and think that eliminating these beastly vehicles off the road is enlightening. However. I DON'T.

I think that it is crazy that we think that we are helping the environment and or the economy, and if you think you are being "GREEN" think again. They place sand in the gas tank and seize the engine, the car is sold for scrap and even if the car is in excellent condition. Leather seats that could be parted out for instance are not being taken out. These cars are scraped whole. No parts are taken off the car no matter how great of condition it is in.

So why today am I so heated about this?....Just came across the wire the big winner in the Cash for Clunkers isn't America, oh no........drum roll, please da da da da... it is Japan!

This is insanity at it's finest. Have we had enough yet????????

The beneficiaries:

* Automakers. Although not as much as you might think, since the program is probably just shifting many purchases from the future to now.
* Public transport and bus companies. People who cannot afford to buy new cars will wind up taking more buses since they can't buy a used car to get around.
* Dealerships. Boosting sales and lowering trade-in prices is a great benefit to car salesmen.
* Rich and middle class people. Who can afford to buy a new car once they get the clunker cash.
* Nucur Steel. "One lobbyist for this bill was Nucor Steel. In Cayuga County, N.Y., Nucor turns scrap steel into sheet metal and other steel products. The clunkers are now becoming a subsidized feedstock for Nucor, which helps explain why Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has led the push for $2 billion extra in clunker cash," Tim Carney writes.

The sufferers:

* Poor people. Fewer used cars means higher prices for poor people. They'll have to ride the bus.
* Anyone who doesn't buy a car under the program. See your neighbor's flashy new SUV? You helped pay for that. Thanks!
* Auto-repair shops. Your local auto mechanic business depend son used or older cars, which the owners don’t take to the dealer for repair. Less old cars to repair means less business.
* Also, the parts dealers have fewer parts because the government is intentionally wrecking them.

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/705321251/Lee-Benson-Dealer-says-Clunkers-wont-help.html

Update 7:52pm

I just received word from a reputable source that some of the dealerships are getting stiffed on their "cash for clunkers" checks. Seems the fine print and details of exactly what must be met can be most difficult to understand and there have been some requirements that some dealers, holding the financial bag.

So these dealers are now being stiffed on their checks and therefore are left holding the bag. One Spanish Fork dealer, has to sell 305 cars in the next year to make the difference in lost cash after taking the cash difference on the cash for clunkers, what a mess.

My mental state is much happier doing research and finding things on my own, which is how I came across this............

The U.S. House of Representatives on July 9 voted almost unanimously to rebuke President Barack Obama over his June 24 signing statement openly declaring that he could ignore provisions of the law he was signing.

The bipartisan 429-2 vote was a direct result of Obama's assertion that he could ignore restricitons on how the $106 billion loan guarantee to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) could be used. In his signing statement, Obama claimed that “provisions of this bill within sections 1110 to 1112 of title XI, and sections 1403 and 1404 of title XIV, would interfere with my constitutional authority to conduct foreign relations by directing the Executive to take certain positions in negotiations or discussions with international organizations and foreign governments, or by requiring consultation with the Congress prior to such negotiations or discussions. I will not treat these provisions as limiting my ability to engage in foreign diplomacy or negotiations.”

The House vote rebuking Obama was on an amendment offered by Representative Kay Granger (R-Texas) that would add the following language to the Fiscal 2010 State-Foreign Operations appropriations bill (H.R. 3081): “None of the funds made available in this Act may be used by the Secretary of the Treasury to negotiate an agreement in contravention of [law].”

Representative Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) explained the controversy on the House floor:

Last month through the 2009 supplemental bill, Congress provided an expansion of resources and powers to the International Monetary Fund as requested by President Obama. This included $108 billion in new funding and approval for the IMF to sell 13 million ounces of gold to fund their internal operating expenses. As part of that bill, and consistent with its oversight role, Congress gave the administration clear guidelines on how an expanded IMF should function. On June 24, President Obama decided to disregard those congressionally mandated guidelines. Upon signing the 2009 supplemental into law, the President issued a signing statement that said he would ignore sections 1110, 1112, 1403 and 1404 of the supplemental…. This Congress, Democrats and Republicans, should not allow any administration to disregard a statutory mandate, especially on issues of transparency and accountability.

President Obama’s ridiculous claim that he has “constitutional authority to conduct foreign relations… [and] engage in foreign diplomacy or negotiations” is pure hyperbole from a constitutional standpoint. The signing statement is a clear attempt to say that he can make his own law — without Congress — with regard to how money is spent, in this case how a $108 billion loan guarantee would be conferred upon the International Monetary Fund. But the U.S. Constitution is unequivocal about who is in charge with regard to law-making, with Article I, Section 1, Clause 1 of the Constitution stating categorically: “All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States.” Congress also has exclusive power over spending money, including even the current foolish gift to triple the size of the International Monetary Fund under Article I, Section 9, which states that “No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law” and under Congress’ exclusive power to “To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations” under Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution.

By way of contrast, the President’s power to conduct foreign relations is relegated to that of someone who is restricted by the will of Congress. The constitutional provisions granting the President power to represent the United States abroad are predicated upon the support of Congress at every turn in Article II, Section 2:

He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls ... but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments.

That Obama’s signing statement was a clear assertion of dictatorial powers was recognized by Republican and Democrat alike in Congress. Representative Barney Frank (D-Mass.) stressed that “we do this not on behalf of this institution, but literally on behalf of democracy, on behalf of the process by which people get elected and deliberate and do this. And there is a kind of a unilateralism, in an undemocratic, unreachable way, to these signing statements that is the opposite of what we do here.”

When even his fellow liberal Democrats are rebuking him with such strong language, stating that his actions are a threat to free government itself, then you know Obama has really gone off the dictatorially deep end!

Registration cost $20 (or whatever govt thinks!) You get an ID card and a immigrant workers ID number, you must provide such information to your employer upon employment. You must also get a drivers license and carry insurance. No free services will be provided for immigrants. No free medical care (the Mexican's have free medical care in Mexico) they can go back if they need to see their doctor. No free deliveries and children born here will not qualify their parents for social service programs such as WIC and Medicaid, unless their parents contribute to the immigration tax payers fund. Which must be at least a certain amount and not over a certain amount (I don't know those numbers) Citizenship will be available from all the regular current channels, immigrants must work and pay their immigration tax to live here.

I don't think we need to close our border, but we need to regulate the chaos coming through that border. We can't continue to be the number one GNP of a Nation that is helping to bankrupt us (not that they needed help with Obama at the helm) but that is another topic.

I don't think that it is heartless. I am a hard working American, my husband is a general contractor and our income has taken a 70% cut in the last year and we had to cancel our health insurance for our own family. We hardly ever see a doctor and yet our major medical policy was over $1000.00 per month for our family of 6, we just can't carry it any longer in this economy. We had to cut just about everything out!

AND NO I don't want OBAMA's Health care, NO THANKS!

This doesn't solve crime and drug trafficking. But we could in act and law you do something illegal and we catch you and you are out. At least it would be a start! Of course we would have to actually enforce the law and borders to make this work and for whatever reason we seem unable to do so.

Probably as much as anyone else, when it affects me. I am in in the thick of learning and understanding our government, the political process and how I can participate. Because now more than ever I am affected, my children and their children and it seems to me to be due to the fact that we have a runaway government and no one seems to care.

The big beef while President Bush was in office seemed to be the out of control spending on the war. Today, that seems like pocket change. I have real concerns and as I have been learning about this process because of those concerns I have discovered many things. It is my desire to one day have an effect on a government that is so fully affecting me.

I had the opportunity last week to spend the day as a State Delegate for the Utah GOP.
