How to Refill Dell Ink Cartridges
Instructions
things you'll need:
Ink refill kit Scotch tape Drill 1/16-inch bit Toothpicks Newspaper

1. Remove the Dell ink cartridge from the printer and examine the top carefully. It should either have a flat top with a large label or a raised piece of plastic. (Black cartridges will have a piece of black plastic, and color cartridges will have a piece of blue plastic.)
2. If you're refilling a black cartridge with a raised piece of plastic, drill a hole in the raised part, right at the point where it narrows. You need to drill down to the inkwell. You can do this with a household drill and a 1/16-inch bit, or with the hole puncher that is provided in any standard ink refill kit.
3. If you're refilling a color cartridge with a raised top, pop it off. If your color cartridge has a flat top with a label, remove the label. In both cases, you will see a series of holes that lead to the inkwells. Slide a clean toothpick into each hole, then withdraw it to determine which color ink goes into which hole.
4. For flat black Dell cartridges, remove the label on top and look for the hole nearest the thin strip of copper. It leads to the inkwell.
5. Fill the syringe from the ink refill kit with the color of ink you need and place the end in the proper hole. Slowly depress the plunger and let the inkwell fill up with ink. The exact level of ink varies depending on the cartridge. Black cartridges carry 15ml of ink or more, while color cartridges carry 7 to 8ml of each type of ink.
6. Withdraw the syringe. If you have drilled a hole, cover it with a piece of Scotch tape. If you remove the plastic top, replace it and use tape to hold it in place. If you removed a label, you can replace the label or simply leave the cartridge the way it is.
7. Replace the cartridge in the Dell printer and run a couple of cleaning cycles. Then print as normal.

I changed the bulb of projector 2400MP. After changed the bulb, turn on the projector and dell says to reset lamp. as I change once a year, I've followed the dell instructions to reset lamp. After I tried to increase the counter of lamp hour it didn't react. Is that normal? Or it'll dispaly itself? If it is so, how long does it takes to increase the counter in 2000 hrs? After factory defalut , it was the same.

I went to see lamp settings for another projector which was working. When i pressed lamp reset yes, all the lamp counter went back into zero. Does it comes back? I've done factory default, but it's the same.

I'm worry that if projector will work back this monday without lamp hour? Do you have any idea? Please advice!
Disconnect your printer.
How to Reset Dell AIO 926 Printer Memory

Check that you removed the protective tape. some cartridges have two of these pieces of tape one over the head and possibly on on the contacts to the printer.

If you recently re-filled or had the cartridge refilled or even bought one of the many cheaper replacement cartridges you should read on

Most modern cartridges have an ink level chip built on to them.
Should the level drop below 25% then most of these chips lock up and will not reset.

Re-filling them will have no effect

If you are lucky you should be able to find either a chip resetter around on the INTERNET or maybe even local

OR

Even better empty cartridges that never need to be reset.
The second option is my preference

I realise these are not for your specific printer but there are others listed on both those sites as well.

cheaper cartridge problems have been on the rise recently and that is for ALL makes of printer.
If you try to clean the contacts be VERY careful cleaning contacts and ONLY use isopropynol on a lint free bud or cloth.
Also be very gentle.

I have seen the contacts cleaned and cartridges ruined with other methods of cleaning.
Rubbing too hard can also cause a badly set chip to move making it inoprable.

I dont like full prices replacements either which is why I always provide the links
I usually reccomend that people take back any cartridge that does not work right from the get-go.

I dont know of anyone who has had a problem doing that be it a shop refill or otherwise.

how to reset ink levels on dell 720 printer

reset ink levels on dell 720 printer, dell 720 printer ink level reset, reset dell printer
QUESTION :
My ink levels are coming up as over half left on my computer, but when I test print it only prints red, no yellow blue or black. Is my computer reading the levels wrong? should I just get more ink? I don't want to buy more ink and then have the same problem thank you.

ANSWER :
If you unplug the printer from the wall and remove the power brick for 60 seconds, this will reset any error messages the printer has. I would then plug everything back in.

Power on the printer.

Open the printer(with the power on) and take out the Dell Series 1 black cartridge and then reseat it. I would then take out the color Dell Series 1 ink cartridge and reseat it. Now close the printer and it will print an alignment page.
Any error messages?

Questions :
I recently installed a new color ink cartridge in my Dell A960 printer. After the installation, the color ink cartridge will only print out a light blue color. I've uninstalled, then reinstalled the printer's drivers, and I also performed the "Clean" option under the maintenance menu on the printer itself. The printer and the printing menu both show that the color cartridge is full.

Recently I've reinstalled windows xp (complete format), could this have anything to do with it? Thanks for any help.
Can you copy something when you put it under the glass? B&W and color? You are using Dell Series 2 ink cartridges, correct?

If you unplug the printer from the wall and remove the power brick for 60 seconds, this will reset any error message the printer has. Then power on the printer and open it up. Try taking out the black Dell Series 2 ink cartridge and reseat it. Do the same for the color cartridge. Close the printer and it will try to print an alignment page.

Any error messages?

Does anyone know a viable way to reset an unknown password for the Dell 3100cn?

I went absolutely crazy trying to find anything about the password.

Here for truth testing is what I think I discovered:
There seem to be three passwords:
1-for the panel -- seems to default to 0000 can be altered on the panel.
2-for the ColorTrak feature (which forces monochrome black) set and reset only within driver installation -- if forgotten, delete printer, reinstall driver. Is Optional
3-for the Dell Printer Configuration Web Tool which username is said to be admin and the password is said to default to password, According to the change password screen the user name admin cannot be changed. The default can be found among the unindexed occurrences of the word password in the Users Guide by carefully rereading everything without falling asleep this time.
I bought two of these at one time and one responded to the default. I sold it to a friend and kept this mystery machine.

I too have tried NVRAM reset from the front panel and it confirmed and told me to restart but it didn't even lose the TCP/IP URL. Are there other NVRAM resets?

I have no use for a password on the unit but I sure could use some ideas!

Low Ink Warnings On Dell AIO 922, 924 & 926

Low Ink Warnings On Dell AIO 922, 924 & 926

Once an OEM cartridge is inserted into your printer, the printer begins to track the ink
used for that particular cartridge. When a cartridge has used about 80% of its ink, the
printer may begin to send the user "your ink level is low" warning messages. After the
cartridge is refilled, the printer may continue to send out these warning messages. The
low ink warning is very common in Dell and Lexmark printers. There is no chip to reset.
It is in the electronics of the cartridge.
These warning messages may simply be ignored, and the printer should continue
to operate normally. However, if you wish to disable the “Low Ink” warning
messages, please follow instruction below.
To disable the “Low Ink” warning messages from your PC do the following:
1. From the WINDOWS™ click START Menu → Programs → Dell Printers → Dell
Photo AIO Printer 922 → Dell All In One Center
2. Click on “Maintain / Troubleshoot” → Click on “Ink Level” → Click on “Advanced”
tab → Click on “More Option” command button
3. Click on the circle option button “Never display the printing status”
4. Click on the circle option button “Never display low ink messages”
(Apply for Photo AIO 926 printer only)
5. Click OK to apply the setting change and close all application.
NOTE: This operation will disable all Printing Status and Low Ink message
display from your PC. This operation can be reversed by repeating these steps
and checking the “Display Printing Status minimized in the taskbar ” “Display all
low ink messages” option button

Reset Dell Printer to Default Settings

How to Reset a Dell Printer to Default Settings, Factory Reset Laser Printer 1710n - Printers Forum, Reset Factory Default Settings on Dell Laser Printer ... How to Reset a Dell Printer to Default Settings

Resetting your printer can be useful if you need to re-sell it or if you just feel you've changed too many settings. Dell Printers can be reset to their default factory settings using software found on the computer that's hooked up to the printer. This means that while running the software, the printer must be connected to the computer.

Instructions :

1. Connect the USB cable from the printer into the computer.
2 Click "Start," "Search," "For Files or Folders."
3. Click "All files and folders," and search for the folder "UAN."
4. Double-click the "UAN" folder. Then go to the "System Utilities" folder within it.
5. Double-click the "Reset Dell Printer" icon.
After refilling my black cartridge for the first time I still have a low ink level message each time I send a print job. I am on XP with a dell 8600 laptop. I would like the low ink level indicator to work, so I will know when to next refill my cartridge. Any suggestions? (And thank you all -- I'm new to the site, seems like a great place to share information.)

Best Answer :
I'm sorry, I am not framiliar with, or even trained on Dell Printers. However, most of the newer printers have "IC Chips" [tiny electrical chips] actually installed on the ink cartridges. Check your ink cartridges and see if they have those IC Chips installed. If so, then that could be your problem. Most of the newer models of printers, calculate the amount of ink remaining in an ink cartridge, using an IC Chip thats located on the actual ink cartridge. Even if the cartridge is refilled, the amount of ink remaining will not be recalculated by the IC Chip and the amount available for use will not change. You would have to try and locate an "Ink Chip Resetter", to buy and use to actually reset the IC Chip on those ink cartridges. If your printers ink cartridges have those IC Chips installed, then as soon as the printer thinks those cartridges are empty, it will usually shut down your printer, until that ink cartridge or cartrdges are replaced...Denny Conway

Most Dell printers are re-badged Lexmark machines, and while I'm not a huge fan of Lexmark, I've heard their all-in-one and laser machines are much better than their cheapo inkjet machines of Wal-Mart fame, so I'll put some time into this question. I researched, and have discovered, according to this source: http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/article/0,aid,117556,00.asp
that the Dell 922 is a re-badged Lexmark x5270

I can't really find much information on the chipped cartridges, but this page has some info on the cartridges (It also lists the Lexmark part numbers of the ink cartridges, however, I read somewhere that the Dell printer will not accept the Lexmark cartridges. I guess they could be chipped differently, so you have to pay even more money for re-badged cartridges.
Resetting a Dell printer After Refill
You can reset your Dell printer fairly easily by simply double-clicking on the ‘Reset Dell Printer’ icon. You can reach this icon by clicking on the folder ‘UAN’, then clicking on ‘System Utilities’ and you should find the icon. However, one word of caution – this method will function only if the USB cable has been directly connected from the PC to the printer. If you are using a USB Hub or some switch box then this method will not work.
