Dirty Girl Mud Run: Get down and dirty with the Dirty Girl Mud Run! This women-only 5k run is designed for all ages and athletic abilities. This untimed “race” is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before with 14 obstacles for you and your gals to tackle – with lots of mud of course! As the World’s Largest Women’s Only Mud Run, Dirty Girl not only allows you to unleash your fierce but run for a good cause. A portion of registration fees go to breast and ovarian cancer awareness.

June 24-25th, 2017

Attack of the Big Beers: This beer festival includes “big beers,” or those brewed with high original gravity. Many other brews from Colorado and beyond will be available for sampling. Brewers will also be competing for the Brewzilla Cup: the award for the biggest, baddest beer of the festival. Enjoy free live music!

Grilled Cheese Festival: The brand new Grilled Cheese Festival brings the best of this cheesy comfort food for you to judge. Cash prizes are up for grabs and it’s up to you to crown the winner of the Best Grilled Cheese in Summit County.

Fjallraven Classic: The Fjällräven Classic concept started in northern Sweden in 2005. This Classic is to show people that nature needn’t be far away. In fact, it can be found in your own backyard. Breckenridge Great Rubber Duck Race 2019

A longstanding tradition, The 32nd Annual Great Rubber Duck race, takes place in Breckenridge on Saturday, August 31st, 2019. This Labor Day tradition hosted by The Summit Foundation provides grants to over 100 local non-profits in Summit County and scholarships to students. Bring the family to watch nearly 10,000 rubber ducks race down the Blue River. There are three divisions for this event: The Kids Duck Dash, Business Battle Duck Race, and the Great Rubber Duck Race.

The Summit Foundation is a local foundation that works to assist families in summit county to preserve our quality of life in the High Country. Over the past 35 years, the Summit Foundation has contributed nearly $30 Million to Summit County and neighboring communities.

The Kids Duck Dash is limited to 850 kids (12 and under). Ducks cost $10.00 each. If still available, ducks can be purchased at the Blue River Plaza on the day of the race up until 11:30 AM.

The Business Battle Ducks cost $100 per duck. The winner will receive a catered Snowcat trip for 12. Grand prize courtesy of Vail Resorts. Runner up will receive prizes from community partners.

The Great Rubber Duck Race ducks cost $5 each but can be purchased in flocks.

Breckenridge Real Estate Market Update - October 2019

As of November 9, 2019 there are 217 Breckenridge homes for sale in the Breckenridge Real Estate market. Breckenridge property prices start at $235,000 for a 137 square foot studio apartment up $18,900,000 for a ski in/ski out 5 bedroom luxury home with 9,525 square feet. Breckenridge certainly offers diversity and has properties to suit every niche imaginable.

So far this year, there have been 502 residential sales in Breckenridge and Blue River area with an average sales price of $1,122,775. This is an 11% increase in average sales price from the same period last year. The average residential property in the Breckenridge area commands $582 per square foot compared to $540 per square foot a year ago. This represents a healthy 7% increase.

These 502 sales have accounted for total volume of $558,253,683. At this time last year there were 609 sales accounting for total volume of $560,927,441. While the number of sales are down 18%, volume is virtually unchanged. Fewer sales accounting for the same volume is explained by higher average sales prices. Moreover, the number of sales on $3M+ homes is up from 15 homes a year ago to 28 this year-an increase of 87%.

From an overall economic standpoint, it is hard to see a recession coming within the next year. The yield curve (a leading recessionary indicator) is not inverted, unemployment is a mere 3.60%, housing starts are strong, and stocks continue extending their gains. The record highs come from recent optimism and signs of progress with trade negotiations and strong corporate earnings. While issues persist, such as, political matters, trade concerns, and monetary policy the market is enjoying fair valuations. The Fundamentals-namely the better-than-expected corporate earnings-are driving of the market to new highs. While we advance in this bull market, we can expect moderate returns.

What this means for Buyers looking for a Breckenridge homes for sale is that while the market is moving in an upward trend, we continue to see stable appreciation and as some would say “you have not missed the boat”. As for sellers, now is a good time to consider selling if you are looking to downsize/upsize, switch locations, or sell a home for a different reason. 151 Omaha Drive is a 3 bedroom 2.5 bathroom home located between Frisco and Breckenridge. The home has been on the market for 144 days. The original list price was $1,849,000 and has been reduced down nearly 20% to $1,495,000.

494 Camron Lane
This log home features 3 bedroom and 3 bathrooms in the Quandry Village Subdivision. It has been on the market for just 28 days and has had one price reduction from $1,114,900 to 1,089,000.

230 Campion Trail
230 Campion Trail is a 5,083 square foot home with 6 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. The home has been on the market for 180 days and is currently listed at $2,495,000, down from $2,700,000.

202 Doris Drive
202 Doris Drive has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and was originally listed at $725,000. After 205 days on the market and two price reductions, the home is currently listed for $699,000.

Breckenridge Ski Resort Opening Day 2013/2014 Ski Season

The Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Opening Day for the 2013/2014 ski season is Friday, November 8th! This the 52nd season for the Breckenridge Ski Resort. Hopes are high for a fabulous ski season with lots of powder since our first snow came early this year on October 23rd.

Other exciting news for the Breckenridge Ski Resort is the opening of Peak 6sometime during the 2013/2014 season. Peak 6 will add 543 skiable acres, increasing Breckenridge’s overall acreage by 23%. Of those 543 acres, 400 will be accessible via the new quad chair while the remaining 143 acres are hikable. While the opening date has yet to be determined the new trail map including Peak 6 is set to be announced on the Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Facebook page on October 21, 2013.

If you can’t wait to get on the hill until November 8, 2013 when the Breckenridge Ski Resort opens for the 2013/2014 season you can visit Arapahoe Basin Ski Area which opened on Sunday, October 13, 2013. A-Basin currently has 2 runs, High Noon and Ramrod open as well as the High Divide Terrain Park.

Skiing/Snowboarding is one of the best reasons to visit Breckenridge and Summit County, Colorado but there are many other winter activities that probably keep you coming back year after year.
