Masukkan mangkuk tersebut ke dalam microwave selama 1 minit pada suhu 350°F untuk mencairkannya.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Keluarkan mangkuk berisi shortening cair dari microwave. Masukkan telur dan gula. Putar hingga mesra.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Masukkan pewarna merah dan serbuk koko di dalam cawan penyukat. Kacau sehingga serbuk koko larut sepenuhnya. Masukkan campuran pewarna dan koko ini ke dalam adunan shortening tadi. Masukkan juga vanilla, baking soda dan garam. Putar hingga mesra. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Teruskan putaran. Masukkan tepung sedikit demi sedikit berselang seli dengan mentega susu (atau gantian susu dan lemon) sehingga habis dan tiada ketulan. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Agihkan adunan kepada dua loyang kek berdiameter 8 inci. Gunakan sudu untuk meratakan bahagian atas kek. Masukkan adunan kek ke dalam ketuhar pada suhu 350°F selama 30 minit atau sehingga masak. Uji dengan lidi untuk memastikan kek sudah masak. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sementara menunggu kek masak, sediakan frosting (krim).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Satukan susu dan tepung di dalam periuk. Panaskan atas api sederhana besar sambil dikacau sehingga adunan menjadi likat seperti gam. Tutup api dan sejukkan pada suhu bilik.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Setelah adunan agak sejuk pada suhu bilik, masukkan shortening atau mentega sedikit demi sedikit sambil diputar. Setelah selesai, masukkan vanila, ekstrak badam dan gula. Putar hingga mesra. Anda akan mendapat satu adunan yang cair. Potong melintang permukaan kek yang melengkung untuk mendapatkan permukaan yang rata. 1 sudu teh serbuk penaik&lt;br /&gt;
1 sudu teh garam&lt;br /&gt;
2 biji telur&lt;br /&gt;
1 cawan kopi (strong brewed coffee)&lt;br /&gt;
1 cawan dadih (buttermilk)&lt;br /&gt;
1/2 cawan minyak sayuran&lt;br /&gt;
1 sudu teh&amp;nbsp;Ekstrak vanila&lt;br /&gt;

Panaskan oven kepada 350 darjah F (175 darjah C). Gris dan tabur tepung pada loyang saiz 9x13 inci.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Dalam mangkuk besar satukan tepung, gula, koko, baking soda, baking powder dan garam. Buat lubang di tengah tengah-tengah mangkuk untuk masukkan bahan-bahan lain .&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Masukkan telur, kopi, buttermilk , minyak dan vanila. Pukul selama 2 minit pada kelajuan sederhana sehinggan adunan menjadi ringan. Tuangkan ke dalam loyang yang telah disediakan.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Bakar pada 350 darjah F (175 darjah C) selama 30 hingga 40 minit, atau sehingga masak. Uji dengan cucukan lidi ke dasar kek dan keluar bersih.&lt;br /&gt;

Biarkan sejuk dalamloyang selama 10 minit, kemudian keluarkan dari loyang dan letakkan di atas rak dawai. Hias seperti yang dikehendaki.&lt;br /&gt;
