<br />Event Description: On Drawing
Christopher Townsend touches on the physicality of drawing
Renaissance artists considered drawing a way of communicating the maker&#39;s
identity, and it remains an artform that is resolutely physical. Even the
most apparently hands-off of artists, such as Donald Judd and even Gordon
Matta-Clark, are drawn to reveal their corporeality through the medium
albeit at one remove.

&#39;Donald Judd&#39;s fabricator drawings become scripts for a bodily performance
by the worker who produces the object, with as much space as possible left
open for interpretation: the artist&#39;s body vanishes, noli me tangere.&#39;<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/ResonanceBroadcastSchedule/~4/_VJInl00gDY" height="1" width="1"/>

This Music Wins

Recurring Event<br>

After a chance introduction to songwriter, film composer and producer Michael J McEvoy, things began to take off and Mary and Michael spent three years writing and recording, laying the foundations for her debut album. A talented singer-songwriter, Mary&#39;s uniquely evocative sound graces the soundtracks of several recent acclaimed films including &#39;Decoy Bride&#39; starring David Tennant. <br />Event Description: Pan-African arts and culture with DJ Debbie and Anne Wanjie

African Essence talk to Guardian correspondent and former Tinariwen manager, Andy Morgan, who has been keenly following and commenting on the situation in Mali drawing on specialist sources. Live in the studio will be the one and only WUNMI who from her early Soul II Soul dancing days has gone on to be a big name in the Afrobeat and Afrohouse worlds. Ahead of her Momo full band date on 20th April, she previews her new album and talks about her life and great career. Frederique Cifuentes&#39; The lost heritage of Sudan&#39; has its launch at the Late at the Brunei Gallery evening at SOAS on 19th April and she will be talking about her long association with Sudan as a filmmaker and photographer.

African Essence delights in presenting trademark incisive informative and entertaining interviews with the movers and shakers on the African arts and cultural scene here in London and throughout the Diaspora featuring well known people as well as unsung community pioneers.The programme is music led as DJ Debbie (Golt) and Anne Wanjie select African music of all eras, styles and flavas - bubbling up artists and household names, seeped in tradition or burning the remix lasers, classics and growers alike. The only criteria is great music to share. With an especial emphasis on the music and wider arts of London, African Essence&#39;s remit goes worldwide. <br />Event Description: Fun and frolics and issues that affect OAPs (and everyone). Presented by Tim Hamilton.

Coming up in today’s holiday repeat programme, in our further coverage of my interview with Deborah Bain from Digital UK in the run-up to the digital switchover in London in April and Samantha Latouche from the BBC Switchover Help Scheme, I ask what can we do with our analogue video and DVD recorders after switchover, as they will only be able to record the channel you are watching? Deborah will point out that the good thing is that you can still watch your videos and DVDs and if you want to upgrade there is equipment they can recommend. I found out though that you need to pay for this extra equipment even if on means-tested benefits and so eligible for the standard level of help for free.

Plus, in our coverage coming up I highlight the push by companies such as in our local News Shopper newspaper to get you to upgrade your aerial to prepare for switchover when the advice is to wait until after the switchover to see whether a new aerial is actually needed as the signal will be some 10 times stronger. Plus, Deborah Bain of Digital UK advises on the all important steps for retuning your tv or digibox for the Freeview channels.

The Switchover Help Scheme remote control requires just one button to be pressed for the retuning required twice in April on or after the 4th and 18th April for the switchover and we hear that the remote can even be paired up with your existing TV remote so that just one remote can be used after the switchover.

You can also find out more about the Scheme at <a href="http://www.google.com/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.helpscheme.co.uk&amp;ust=1334582822265000&amp;usg=AFQjCNETGLrbXcaW6nycmHdobpWYVj_w-g" target="_blank">helpscheme.co.uk</a> or by ringing 0800 40 87 656.

The Switchover Help Scheme can be taken up, up to the end of 18th May 2012.

Also coming up in today’s programme, is news of Age UK’s response to the most recent 2012 Budget, and the National Pensioners Convention’s General Secretary, Dot Gibson, responded, saying: “In reality there will be no extra money to raise Britain’s scandalously low state pension – just a different way of packaging the payment. Not only that but it will also create a two-tier pension system with existing pensioners still having to struggle with a complicated means-tested system that leaves one in four older people in poverty.”

<br />Event Description: Matt Hale talks to writer/curator Christopher Townsend.

On Drawing
Christopher Townsend touches on the physicality of drawing;

&#39;Donald Judd&#39;s fabricator drawings become scripts for a bodily performance
by the worker who produces the object, with as much space as possible left
open for interpretation: the artist&#39;s body vanishes, noli me tangere.&#39;

For the second show of our new season, Bob has put together an incredible, real temporal trip of a mix whilst I’m galavanting round another part of the country.

As the man himself puts it, The Atemporal Deathline is:
<i>A collection of music that invokes the ghosts of forgotten pasts, parallel presents and haunting futures.And some scary public information films as well!</i><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/ResonanceBroadcastSchedule/~4/O3NlJqKoa_4" height="1" width="1"/>

Wavelength

When: Fri Apr 13, 2012 2:30pm to 3:30pm&nbsp;

<br />Event Description: Sound artist John Wynne and artist curator Richard Ducker are in the studio to talk about John’s latest exhibition; Installation Number 2 for high and low frequencies, at the Angus Hughes Gallery, curated by Richard Ducker for Fieldgate Gallery.

This is John Wynne’s first solo show in London since his acclaimed installation for 300 speakers, pianola and vacuum
cleaner at Beaconsfield Gallery in 2009

For 3 years John had his own programme called Upcountry on ResonanceFM in London, where he &quot;invited Tammy Wynette to have tea with Pierre Henry - in a thunderstorm&quot; (Ed Baxter). He is a Reader in Sound Arts at the University of the Arts London, and a core member of the CRiSAP research centre.

Richard Ducker has been a practicing artist since completion of his MA at Goldsmiths College London in 1991. He lives and works in London.

Wavelength has been described as a programme without an agenda. However, this is untrue, Wavelength consists of multiple agendas - sound art experiments, concrete poetry, documentary, cultural criticism and reporting.
