Cherating is very famous with its beautiful beach and also well-known as "Malaysia Cowboy Town". Good venue for team event, family activities.

You'll need a week to get thru all the activities they have, catering for all sorts of age group including children. Let down was the lack of information provided for my team to do a proper planning of participation. Nevertheless the beach was really nice, hospitable Gos and love the attention and helpfulness shown. We had a great time going...

The place to have some serious fun.

This is my first beach vacation and it's beyond my expectations, the resort itself is a paradise of its own in the town of Kuantan, Malaysia. I stayed 4 days there and it was a fantastic experience for me. I love the selection of food and activities available not to mention the friendly and approachable guest officers (GO). There is a constant flow of activities available for everyone at any time, I can feel the sincerity and effort of the staffs put in to every activity and event especially the daily evening shows and parties. Thank you Cherating for the beautiful memories, I will definitely be back!

Beautiful place, staff members could be better.

I have been going to club med resorts for years, the location of club med Malaysia is nice, the facilities are great, lots to do.
The food was good.
The one thing I could not stand and drove me insane was the sports manager on the microphone, could not understand him and he would scream into the mic, I also got the vibe that he did not have a good relationship with his staff members.
The shows were good, typical club med performances. Loved the circus and the circus shows.
I would recommend this resort if you are an active person, just take some ear plugs to drown out the unnecessary noise from the sports manager. Two thumbs up for facilities.

Relax, Wilderness.

We spend one week for CNY with our four children and friends with kids and had a really good time. We loved specially the environment, the jungle, the beach, the water activities, yoga. The kids really enjoyed the kids club.
We loved the fruit, the shows (what a talent G.O.s).
We liked the simple bedrooms with a wonderful view and the nice covered walk to the main area.
I really appreciated the Green Globe standard, with big dispensers for soap/shampoo/..., I always feel guilty about the waste in hotels with towels and sheet change everyday. I didn't have to ask twice for the linen not to be change everyday, they did just the way I asked.
The kids really enjoyed the encounter with the monkeys.
The food was delicious, we tried all Indian/Chinese/Japanese and french of course and it was different every day except for the kids basic, as a mum I was really pleased with the healthy choices: mashed/steamed veggies.
The pool was nice for all ages, might need more cleaning.
My 4 years old wanted to go live there, the kid's club G.O. were so friendly and even the youngest were begging to see the shows.
Yes the bathrooms might need a little scrub, but the environment is so overwhelming that after one day I wouldn't even notice anymore. The wife doesn't work everywhere and is complicate to activate/reactivate so I did disconnect...
I did a lot of exercise, lots of different class offered, dance fitness was great.
Thanks again, my husband specially had a good rest/family time: tennis with juniors in the morning, sailing in the afternoon and yoga at sunset, what else.
Thanks for the great week and we hope to come again.

Captivated by the serene beauty of peninsular Malaysia’s east coast beaches, Dato' Azman Shah Dato’ Seri Haron and Datin Mavis Masri Azman bought their first hotel in 1987 in Cherating, on the east coast of Malaysia. Thus incorporated in year 1987, Alangka-Suka Hotels & Resorts Berhad (a subsidiary of the public-listed Advance Synergy Berhad) to manage the brand’s operations, acquisition and subsequent expansion.
