This winter Wyndham Vacation Rentals will welcome members of the National Brotherhood of Skiers (nbs®) and the Texas Ski Council (TSC) as they visit America’s original ski resort and the surrounding Wood River Valley area of Sun Valley, Idaho. The NBS will hold their Annual Meeting and Challenge Cup, also known as the Mini-Summit, in Sun Valley from Saturday, Feb. 25 through Saturday, March 3, 2012. A significant phase in the Steamboat Unbridled redevelopment plan was recently completed at Steamboat Springs Ski Resort. A new Promenade was unveiled last month at the ski base area just outside the Torian Plum condominium resort.

Part of a three-year, $21 million plan for revitalizing Steamboat’s Ski Time Square, the Promenade is designed with every season in mind. In summer Burgess Creek, which is diverted underground during the ski season, will be “daylighted” returning the water above ground and allowing the creek to flow past new seating areas and lush landscaping. Classic car connoisseurs will converge on Hilton Head Island next weekend for the Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance. Sun Valley’s Trailing of the Sheep Festival celebrates a rich ranching heritage that dates back to the late 1860s when John Hailey introduced the first sheep herd to the Wood River Valley. River Run is the most centrally located neighborhood in both summer and winter, within walking distance of ski lifts, the town of Ketchum, a 26-mile bike path and the Big Wood River. Approximately one mile from downtown Ketchum, Sun Valley is where the original ski resort was built in 1936. Since then, a Nordic center, an ice rink and a Robert Trent Jones golf course have been added.
