Increase Adsense Revenue By Removing Low Paying Ads

One big problem many of us Adsense publishers have to go through is low paying clicks. You got your ads in all the right places and your click through rate is doing wonderfully, but the CPC is just killing you. A solution to this problem would be to remove low paying ads. And there's a free tool to help you do this. Like many others, when I first started with Adsense, I would just build the code, copy it, paste it on my website and wait for revenue. You don't really think about optimizing it. But this could cause you to lose out on lots of money!

Creating a Blacklist For your Website

AdsBlacklist.com is a free tool that generates a list of blacklisted advertisers who are known for low cost per click. You can indentify and block advertisers that use keyword arbitrage to steal your traffic leaving you with little to no money for the click. So these guys are stealing our traffic and we're getting practically nothing.
To use AdsBlacklist.com you first need to register obviously. Then click on "My Account" which is on the left in the site navigation. Click "Add a New Domain" and fill out the required info which would be your sites URL, title and they keywords that are used often on your site. Go on and click submit. You'll then be redirected to the main page I think. Now you want to click on "Generate Filter List" in the menu, click on your website name and drag it into the box right next to it. Make sure that you have the MFA and LCPC boxes checked before you click submit. You'll then see the list and you then copy all of the URLs.
Now go to your Google Adsense account and click "Adsense Setup". Then click on the "Competitive Ad Filter" and paste the list of URLs in there and click on "save". Google only allows 200 max.

How To See If an Ad Is Low Paying

With this tool, you can manually check to see if an ad on your site is a low cost per click. First locate an ad you want to check on by right clicking (don't left click!) the Adsense ad and clicking "properties". Copy the properties URL and paste it in notepad or something for easier viewing. Now if you look through that Google URL you can see the advertisers original landing URL. Now go back to AdsBlacklist.com and click on domain checker on the left (you may have to be logged in). Paste the URL in there and click enter. The sites status will appear and you can see if it is blacklisted. If so, go on and add it to your list in your Adsense account

Get Paid To Post on Forums - Is It Really Worth It?

Lately, there's been a few people that have asked about getting paid to post on forums. If you're a frequent user on DP then this is most likely nothing new to you as there are forum posting jobs posted everyday on there. But the question is - Is it really worth it to spend your time doing this for cents per post? In a short answer, no, it's not really worth it. But lets talk about it for a bit in case you decide to do this in your spare time for some extra money.

Why Will They Pay Me To Post?

Getting a new forum kicked off can be quite difficult. There are many online forums where there's already dedicated members. So why would someone want to be a part of this new forum when there is practically no users, posts, or any activity for that matter? This brand new forum needs some activity to get it kicked off. The owners of these new message boards are willing to pay you to become an active member and make posts to fill up the boards so they can gain more popularity and members. There is obviously going to be some rules, so you can't just sign up and spam the boards with posts with no value. The owners ask that you post real threads and genuine replies.

So What's The Pay Like?

I believe the cheaps will pay about 2 or 3 cents per post. That's obviously a rip off. You can find lots of forum owners on DP offering posting jobs that range from 10 to 20 cents per post. 10 cents is about average but the nice guys will pay more. But like I said, there will sometimes be rules. For example: "20 cents per post but you are limited to 50 posts per day" or something along those lines.
These types of jobs do not pay very well as you can see, but they might come in handy if you have some spare time and want to make a few extra bucks. But I strongly urge you to spend your valuable time wisely and make money using other ways. There's lots! Don't depend on these small jobs.

Multiple Session for Remote Desktop on Windows XP

I consider Remote Desktop (RDP) as one of the best application that Microsoft could make in his 20 years history. This might sound radical but with the features and time savings that RDP is providing, Remote Desktop deserves it. It is predecessor of terminal Service in Windows 2000 which used to be charged per client basis. With Windows XP Professional, Remote Desktop was also offered to end users but with a limitation. Only one user is allowed to connect at a time, in order to skip that limitation, there is a work around. I’ll mention about a work around that was given earlier on Sig9 with several additions. In that article, it is suggested to use termserv.dll files that come with the termserv.zip. However, with different languages, there are different dll files offered for even same Windows XP built. To be on the safe side, you should make your own termserv.dll backup. In case anything goes wrong, you can still place the one in zip file at your risk.
To get Multiple Sessions Remote Desktop on Windows XP, follow the steps below exactly:

Download the termserv.zip file and extract it somewhere. (You have to be registered to see the file)
Reboot into Safe Mode. This is necessary to remove Windows File Protection.
Copy the termserv.dll in the zip to %windir%\System32 and %windir%\ServicePackFiles\i386. If the second folder doesn’t exist, don’t copy it there. Delete termserv.dll from the dllcache folder: %windir%\system32\dllcache
Merge the contents of Concurrent Sessions SP2.reg file into the registry.
Make sure Fast User Switching is turned on. Go Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Change the way users log on or off and turn on Fast User Switching.
Open up the Group Policy Editor: Start Menu > Run > ‘gpedit.msc’. Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Terminal Services. Enable ‘Limit Number of Connections’ and set the number of connections to 3 (or more). This enables you to have more than one person remotely logged on.
Now reboot back into normal Windows and try out whether Concurrent Sessions in Remote Desktop works. It should!

Previously I had mentioned about enabling Multiple Session for Remote Desktop on Windows XP This time I’d like to talk about Multiple Sessions for Remote Desktop on Windows Vista.
Multiple Session for Remote Desktop on Windows Vista Ultimate, Enterprise and Business Vista x86 (RTM & SP1) and x64 (RTM & SP1)

Download Termsrv.dll file http://rapidshare.com/files/135672441/VISTA_TERMSRV_PATCHES.zip for
Extract files to a folder and run setup.cmd file. Once it runs, it takes care of other details that you would have typed manually. If you’d like to know what you would be doing manually if you were not running this command, it is listed as below:
Type the following & hit enter: takeown /f C:\Windows\System32\termsrv.dll
Then type this & hit enter (NOTE: Replace USERNAME with YOUR USERNAME!):
cacls C:\Windows\System32\termsrv.dll /G USERNAME:F
Then go to your Windows Explorer, and go to C:\Windows\System32\
Rename the original termsrv.dll to something else, like “termsrv.dll.ORIGINAL”, just in case
NOTE: If you are unable to do the above, try rebooting into SAFE MODE
Assuming you ran the setup.cmd file, in the middle of its execution it will ask you to copy Termsrv.dll file, you should copy the file from the right folder depending on your Windows Vista installation.

Then you’ll also need to create another user. Remember, this doesn’t let you connect 2 people to the same user account, so make another account & then just connect to that one & you should NOT be disconnected.

Do You Post By Email?

There are a number of options available to publish articles to your blog outside of your WordPress Write panel such as through XML-RPC via a third party blogging client or through an application such as the one available for the iPhone. However, did you know that you can also publish posts through email? It’s true! The feature has been around for quite some time. For how long I’m not sure because I was unable to track down when it became a core feature but it looks like it has been around since 1.5 or below.
For directions on how to use this unique feature, I recommend reading this comprehensive article on the Codex entitled Blog By Email. Posting by email in WordPress is limited to pretty much text only. Common HTML tags are stripped and attachments that are sent with the email will appear in their raw form in the blog post. You also can’t specify the category for which the blog post will be filed under at the time of creation as you are limited to just a default category for all email posts.
I wasn’t sure if anyone actually used this feature so when I asked my followers on Twitter if they “Have or know someone who has published a post via email in WordPress?” I was surprised to see many people say yes. There use for the feature varied but people do in fact use it.
On the WordPress hackers mailing list a few days ago, it was suggested that photo attachment support should be added to the blog by email feature. As someone in the thread replied, this type of additional support would be killer for photobloggers. As it stands, there is actually a service available to bloggers called Posterous which supports the ability to attach just about anything to a post. Last but not least, there is a bug report in the WordPress Trac that still needs a patch in order for images and attachments to be shown inline within the blog post.
With all of that in mind, my questions to you, the WordPress community are these:

Do you or have you used the blog by email functionality in WordPress?
Would you like to see that feature enhanced? For instance, support the ability to determine a category on the fly, attach more than just images, etc.
Should the feature be left alone and those looking for this functionality use something like Posterous?

I’m pretty curious as to how some of you have used this feature as well as the demand for building upon this functionality.

Perhaps you choose to use plastic for convenience or rewards, but before you hand over that card to the clerk you better be sure that you have the money to pay the bill when it comes due. Once you start carrying balances and paying interest on your credit cards then you are destroying your ability to save money.
