Before I dive into this bedding post, let me just say that it took me a long time to piece together our bedding. Maybe even a year…talk about indecisive! I knew what I wanted, but I just couldn’t find it. Or, when I did, it was terribly over our budget or was just a shade too light or too dark. So when I finally landed on all of these pieces (which just so happen to be from 4 different stores!) I was very ready to put this project to rest. These were my final choices…

I have a bolster pillow I’m waiting on an insert for, and then this bed will finally be complete. Yes!

I haven’t showed many photos of our master bedroom, and that’s because we haven’t done too much in this room. We’ve painted the walls, installed new white trim, and that’s about it.

As a reminder, here is where we started….

Amazing wallpaper, right? Ha. After much debate, we painted over the wallpaper. Best decision ever. We used Benjamin Moore’s paper white, and thankfully, you’d never know wallpaper ever existed in this room. The floors were also stained the same color as our kitchen area, so the bones of the room really did get a face lift.

Now, about that gallery wall. Here’s the blank space above our bed that was begging for a little love…

And then I played around with frame placement…

And this is the result…and I actually made our bed:)…

I still need a handful of prints to go in the frames, so this isn’t the final “after” photo, but it’s close. And these days, I’ll take close rather than finished:).

And about that bedding that finally came together…

It seems like our house renovation is either at a stand-still, or we have too many projects to handle. Isn’t that how life works though? I mentioned last week that we’re tackling the fireplace, and we’re also currently renovating our guest/second bathroom.

Here’s the quick designed board I drew up…and we’re running with it!

The original board I created for this room is below, and the plan has changed quite a bit. Why? Because after living here for 6 months, I’ve realized this bathroom is very dark, and it needs lots of light and bright colors. In other words, white needs to be the main shade in this window-less bathroom.

I also played around with wallpaper options, but it ended up being too spendy to move forward with. One day, I WILL have a room full of wallpaper, it’s just not going to be in this particular space:(.

Tomorrow, I’ll post plenty of “before” bathroom photos. This might be the most righteous room in the house, as it currently has pink countertops, 19th century beauty salon cartoon wallpaper (no joke), and linoleum floors. Once again, everything in this room is original to the home. I think we’re seeing a pattern here…this house is as original as it gets.

I do think we’ve come up with a few solutions though. We’ll paint the brick white, install a new bulky mantle, and place vertical planks above the new mantle. We’ll also add sconces since we already have an electrical outlet above the fireplace (again, why?!). This is a 5 second mock-up, and we haven’t settled on what sconces we’ll use yet, but here’s a general idea of what we are thinking…

Per usual, I will keep you guys posted along the way.

I die. For so many reasons. It’s perfectly perfect. I can’t even list out all of my favorite things because I love it all.

If this isn’t a brilliant idea, I don’t know what is. Word on the street is that there will be peonies, sweetpeas, poppy pods, and whatever else happens to be in season. This share supports local growers and local florists – a win, win for all. You can bet my name is on the flower share list…can’t wait to bring home my first bouquet next week!
