So when I saw this title – Piece of Cake – I thought it meant a slice of cake. But these are some great recipes that are easy i.e. “a piece of cake”!  They are delicious one bowl cake recipes.  This is perfect for Valentine’s Day. You can easily make them with the kids – or if you are not a fancy cook – whip something up for your sweetie.

This book is hard cover but spiral bound so it easily lays flat – again with the easy theme.  It also has a wealth of info about prep work. I don’t wear a ton of makeup (although I should) on a daily basis. But I hardly ever leave the house without concealer.  If you have circles and bags – you look old and tired.  So I was pleased to try this company’s “treat and conceal” product.  Not only does it conceal but it gives you a little boost up so you don’t “look” tired and cranky! I liked how it went on and it did not cake up on me.  The instant effect items – make sure you apply moisturizer first…otherwise it mad my skin dry – but no issues with a good base of moisture. I also tried the Face product – I guess I would describe it as a cream, sunscreen and base all in one.  I loved that is not only came in shades but also in a clear.  Sometimes my winter and summer skin is a different shade.  And I think I might prefer the clear in summer and the tinted in winter.  I also discovered I like the clear for working out – who want’s makeup on your sweat towel in spin class!  But I love the ease and “all in one” of these products.  They aide your skin and it is like makeup too.  They also have a body product.  My mom tired this. she used it on her legs – so she does not have to wear hose and was impressed.  She has always been paranoid about her pale legs (not that she runs around in short shorts – but in an every day skirt to cross her legs) and this helped a bit for her to be more confident.

It is hard to find a good face cream.  I have some for day, some for night, some I like better in summer. So I liked the fact that this cream was an all in one, suited for both night and day.  The Hydroxatone AM/PM cream was suitable to wear under makeup or for bedtime. I loved it’s versatility….it even has SPF in it.  Seriously an all in one cream.  So well worth the investment.

I also really like the Under Eye Cream.  I hate to say it but as I have gotten older (and the kids probably don’t help) I have noticed that I wake up with bags and I have to wear concealer for my circles.  Hmmm. So this cream helps with that.  I have to say I do think it did help and I liked the consistency of the cream.  I do have to still wear concealer but at least it is not SO evident.

And finally – my favorite – the 90 second wrinkle reducer.  Now it does not make them go away – but it does use some magic tricks to help you look younger.  Partly it reduces the wrinkles and partly is shimmers a bit to make the wrinkles not appear there. Whatever, it worked!  This also helped with my bags – so that is a plus.  I used this even just when I was going to the gym and did not have makeup on – so it was quick – a plus.  It states it is a vitamin cocktail – so it will help even if you had a real cocktail the night before!

I must say that as I age, chase around the kids, think I can do back to back spin classes to make up for the week of classes I missed…….I hurt sometimes.  Lol!

I was intrigued by this product as it is not just a muscle or shoulder – it is sort of an all in one fix for any muscular pain or bruising.  I also liked that is really did not smell – and did not seem like something would go awry or sting if one of the kids got it and accidentally thought it was lotion or something. I liked that it went in quickly so I did not have to worry about putting a shirt on and it sticking - ewww!  I must say I have tried more and more “natural” treatments. Some work and some sort of work and others do not. It is that time of year for love – and we typically think of Valentine’s as a husband or sweetheart day.  We think of Valentine’s Cards for the Mister – but But us mom’s know that it is also time for class celebrations and swapping Valentines Day Greeting Cards too!  I had never thought of ordering my kid’s class valentine’s before – but there are some really cute designs – and how easy!

Then I thought about budget and two kids.  Both of my kids have small classes – and the cards are under a dollar each – so totally doable and cute!

I have fond memories of trading cards and candy when I was little and I still have a box with childhood valentines.  So what a great way to preserve a memory – and send one to Grandma too!

I love skin care and beauty products – but as I age – it becomes even more important that I get the right items for my skin.  Why use something that does not work for you, right?  So I was instantly impressed with the Stages of Beauty line.  From the get go you know which items to start shopping for.
