...that's this year's promotional tag line for the US Open Tennis Championship, but it also describes Henley's fascination with watching tennis on TV.

Henley is addicted to tennis balls—he hides them and "finds" them outdoors. He chases them (and often refuses to drop them). And he went apeshit when taken to a nearby tennis facility where he discovered dozens of old tennis balls in the bushes near the courts.

So it's no wonder that Henley recognizes the distinctive "twack" of a tennis ball and follows the televised action at the Open. His nose follows the balls being hit and when he gets bored, he runs off to get his own tennis balls.

Henley had a rough week recently after injuring his paws a bit...he got a new stuffed animal during his "ordeal" and has never let it go. (Dog is now fine; duck has seen better days!)

Henley loves snow...and for some reason it keeps on snowing in North Carolina (although we missed the lastest storm that hit the northeast). At any rate, he found another dog who loves snow too. Notice that a long-haired dog attracts snow-on-fur like a magnet.

Henley's favorite food: carrots. Henley's favorite activity: playing in the snow. He almost jumped up and grabbed the "nose" off this snowman...but settled for an "eye" that had conveniently dropped to the ground.

Henley on the grounds of the pseudo-cathedral in his neighborhood. While his theological tenets tend more towards belief in DOG rather than GOD, he does appreciate the grounds keeping efforts of the nearby Presbyterian church.

Henley never lets a stressful day interrupt his sleep. But then, what stress is this dog exposed to anyhow?
Which leads to the next question: is life in the Triad of North Carolina inherently less stressful than, say, the Baltimore-Washington suburbs? It sure seems that way, and here's one theory. Traffic is a lot lighter here--long, stress-filled daily commutes on the Beltway are unheard of (there is no beltway as a matter of fact). Perhaps this lowers the stress level on the general populace. Or maybe it's just a southern thing (the lower stress, that is).
