Some of them made sense and some of them still make me scratch my head. Here is my list of my favorite... Enjoy!!!

5) Captain O.G. Readmore - This Cool Cat tried to convince you that reading could take you any where. He often sang a song like a rhyming beat poet from the 70's and laughed like Winnie the Pooh's Tigger on Ritalin. Of Course every one knows when he gets drunk he turns into MC Skat Kat... O.k. that isn't true!!!

4) Parents Who Use Drugs. - You have to give credit to this on. This has been around forever and has spawned many copy cats.

3) MCGRUFF the Crime Dog - A good PSA teaches you something, but a great PSA scares the living shit out of you. That is what MCGRUFF did for me. I could be playing with 60 of my close friends and then bam... we have all been kidnapped.

2) Trees Are Terrific - Thank you Nebraska. You are one of the reddest states and you still want us to fly around with a bird and love the environment.

1) A Hanker for a Hunka Cheese - This is what we needed back in the day. Some overweight Orange Cowboy telling us what we need to eat. Make sure when you get home from school you eat a lot of cheese. A whole Wagon Wheel worth. That won't back you up for days.

Poseidon Adventure - You could of complained for not having anything to do on New Year's Eve, but it could be worse. You could be on the Poseidon when a big tidal wave tips you over and you need to fight to stay alive. Or it could be worse, you could be in the terrible remake movie.

2. 200 Cigarettes - No one showed up to your party? You might be Martha Plimpton in this movie. Join this New Year's party... Forget the Cheese Dip... Costello is the best side dish.

3. Trading Places - O.K. this party would be fun to attend... except if you were the guy dressed in the guerrilla costume.

2. Watching Logan's Run on Blue Ray. There is something great about watching this Cheesy Sci-Fi Flick that gets me every time. Maybe it's the red lights blinking in their hands, or the fantastic Carrousel scene, or Farrah Fawcett's wonderful acting.... Oh who am I kidding... The real winner in this movie is finding out that all cats have three names. Thanks Peter Ustinov!!!
Press Your Luck was an 80's Game show where contestants would spin for prizes on a big board. Careful, if you landed on a Whammy you lost all you money and lost your turn. But did anyone ever avoid the Whammy? Yes, on May 1984 that aired on TV in June 1984, Michael Larson won $110,237 in cash and
prizes, at the time the largest one-day total ever won on a game show. So how did he do it? Larson memorized the patterns used on the Press Your Luck game board. See, the board had lights that would light up fast, but if you watched closely you could see when it would always hit the big bucks square. Larson, figured out were the pattern was and scored big. The producers thought he was cheating because they noticed that Larson immediately celebrated after many of his spins,
instead of waiting the fraction of a second that it would normally take
for a player to see and respond to the space they had stopped on. Watch the episode below and see if you can spot the pattern.
Some Characters overlapped. For example, Launchpad McQuack started out on DuckTales, but later was on Darkwing Duck. I liked him better on DuckTales. He seemed like a good comic relief in both shows. The Big question is which one of these shows is your favorite. I have to go for DuckTales. It was the first one and really seemed more creative in the way it spoofed things. I would have to say Chip and Dale's are a near 2nd. What is your favorite. Comment below!!!!
Paul Haggis is the Oscar Winning screenwriter of the films Crash and Million Dollar Baby. Haggis has been described as a new Maverick in Hollywood, but his past might show otherwise. Upon watching an episode of Facts of Life where Jo talks to a Computer about her problems with Blair, I noticed that this 'wonderful' script was written by Haggis. I couldn't believe that this was the same Haggis who put the words in the mouth of Hillary Swank's Female boxer. Maybe Haggis has a thing for tough chicks. I instantly had to see what else he might have embarrassed written. Haggis has also wrote for Who's the Boss, Different Strokes, One Day at of time, Healthcliff (A.K.A generic Garfield) and The Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Puppy Hour. Scrappy-Doo???? It gets better. Haggis also wrote, created and produced Walker, Texas Wranger. Hold on to your Oscar tight Paul, I'm coming.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://retrocooljunkreminder.blogspot.com/2012/11/paul-haggis-maverick-retro-past.html' title='Paul Haggis, Maverick Retro Past? Bill Erwin was an veteran character actor, but you might know him as "that old guy from that one show." He guest starred on many television shows in his life time. I remember him as the angry old guy that kept popping up on Growing Pain. He was also in Seinfeld, I Love Lucy, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. He just had one of those faces that everyone knew. He was also in one of my favorite movies, Somewhere in Time. Bill Erwin died at his home on December 29, 2010 in from natural causes, near the production lot where Seinfeld was filmed.

3 Retro Obsessions for the Week Sept. 16 - 22

1) Singing the theme song to Blossom.
Sometimes these additions are not the best ideas. This is my top five most annoying Characters that were added later to a TV show.

5) Steve Urkel - Urkel was brought in during Season 2 of Family Matters. Sure, he was annoying as the nerd who always said, "Did I do that?" You mean piss me off, right? Because you did do that.

4) Coy and Vance Luke - see my past post

3) Dr. Elvin Tibideaux - The Cosby show has many choices for this post, but Elvin is my choice. There is just something annoying about him and Mrs Huxtable fighting over what a woman can and can't do.

2) Sam McKinney.- Sam was the little white kid that became a brother to the kids on Different Strokes. There was just something about that "Awww Shucks" Country Kids that didn't mix well with the show.

1) Cousin Oliver - Did anyone really care that Cousin Oliver came into the house the last year of the Brady Bunch? Nope! and that is fine by me.

The last three days have been over 100. So the worst song to hear on the Radio is Hot Hot Hot by Buster Poindexter.

2) Coming to terms with the fact that Annie Potts is Underrated.

3)Theorizing that one could time travel within his own lifetime, Doctor Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator - and vanished. He awoke to find himself trapped in the past, facing mirror images that were not his own, and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better. His only guide on this journey is Al, an observer from his own time, who appears in the form of a hologram that only Sam can see and hear. And so Doctor Beckett finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong and hoping each time that his next leap... will be the leap home.

Kimberly Drummond,"Dana Plato", from the Different Strokes went to school there too. The plotline for the pilot had Kimberly Drummond requesting that Mrs. Garrett help her sew costumes for a student play at East Lake School for Girls, as her dorm's housemother had quit.

Six LeMeure was Blossom's best friend on the T.V. show, Blossom. She was played by Jenna von Oÿ. Most of the Cast has moved on from the shadows of the T.V. , but whatever happened to Six? After Blossom, she went back to school to study film. She dropped out to take up acting again. She got the role of of Stevie van Lowe, Kim Parker's sidekick on The Parkers. Big leap going from one sidekick to another sidekick. Ha Ha! Breaking out of that mold, she decided to lend her voice to the animated series Pepper Ann. This led to other voice work including: Family Guy, What's with Andy? and Dr. Dolittle 3. Jenna even tried her luck at recording a Country Album. Her debut album, Breathing Room, was released on September 18, 2007. On October 10, 2010, she married computer data consultant Brad Bratcher .They have one daughter, Gray Audrey, born on May 21, 2012.

Top 7 Best Aaron Sorkin Moments

In light of the premiere of Aaron Sorkin's new show, The Newsroom, I'm counting down my favorite Sorkin moments.
Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears was a cartoon that aired during the late 80's and early 90's. The Gummi Bears got special power from drinking Gummiberry Juice. They would bounce high and run fast. It is said that you make it by adding six handfuls of red berries, then four orange
berries, three purple berries, four blue berries, three green berries
and one yellow berry. The recipe ends with the 3-step-stir: first stir
slow to the right, then slow to the left, then tap the pot to banish the
bubbles. Let's get serious. A complicated recipe that is made in the woods? Sounds like Cartoon Moonshine to me. Are we suppose to believe that there wasn't a secret ingredient in this drink? What a great thing to teach kids. Drink this and you will be bouncing off the walls for hours. Thanks Disney, you made me an addict once again.

Top 5 Inspirational Theme songs (from the 80's)

Have you ever noticed that the Theme song from T.V. show in the 80's were a little different.
